I decided to give this place a try for their pizza. Well, I would not return. The vibe was so off that I couldn't even give them the benefit of the doubt. I got two slices of pizza. They were supposedly warmed up. So, was their pizza oven off the whole time? or were the pizza slices colder than the 7th ring of Antarctica, because when I bit into a slice shortly after purchasing them. It was cold, I can tell it was tasty in flavor, but if I want a cold af slice of pizza, let me make that choice the next day when I eat it for breakfast straight out of my fridge. Also, they didn't even bother refilling their napkin dispenser, and looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for some. I ordered an 11" Margarita pizza, the pizza guy said 25 minutes, huh?? It doesn't take 25 minutes to make a pizza, I had an Italian restaurant & an 11" pizza takes 10-15 minutes @ most to cook. He wasn't busy, so I went shopping in Gelsons, paid for my groceries & got the pizza, when I got to my car I was starving, so I took a bite-blah......it was cold & the crust was like cardboard. I didn't bother bringing it back bc I was exhausted. At home I reheated it, but the crust was completely inedible. I was so hesitant to write this review - but I have no choice but to do the neighborly thing and let everyone knows my experience with this place- I have been a resident and a great supporter of this establishment for the past 20+ years - loved the convenience and the taste of the pizza coming out of a brick oven in the past years - however -" the quality of their product and service slowly went down; I approached the general manager several times and I was reassured that the issues will be addressed - until last night - when I ordered again 3 large pizzas and I was handed - 3 boxes of what it resembled pizza with the most minuscule amount of toppings and far from fresh - was totally disappointed again and again this time!! The fact that I have to fight employees to get ranch for the pizza I order EVERYTIME I order there (Which is a lot being that I work down the street) is insane. 1. I spend way to much money with you to be fighting over a condiment. 2. Does the money for the Ranch come out of the employees pay check? Is Wolfgang Puck trying to cut costs on condiments? Because the way they deny a paying customer a condiment makes no sense. 3. Its ranch ... The employees always say "The ranch is not for the pizza" One employee even printed a price sticker for the ranch I requested and tried to make me pay. Honestly I got a pizza about 2 weeks ago and it was out of this world made by a woman prob in her early 60's very nice and professional. Last night I ordered the same pizza from a man about same age range and I think he literally wants to be fired. My pizza came in the box upside down. The slices looked like he literally didn't even give a crap about making them even like a 5 year old sliced this pizza. The toppings weren't even spread evenly, like globed all in one spot like he didn't give two craps evenly putting them on the pizza. Honestly, I hope he does get fired. He literally didn't put any effort into making my pizza actually desirable to want to eat. He charged the wrong price because I paid a different amount 2 weeks ago when I ordered from the great woman working there. I was shocked to have such crappy service from Gelson's Wolfgang and know if I had this experience others prob have too. If I see him again coming to order pizza again I won't even bother because I'm just setting myself up for disappointment. I hope he can improve his customer service because of him I won't be returning my business. He was a terrible employee I had met at this establishment and couldn't believe he even had a job there after always having pleasant service from every other worker there. Except, the young manager he was rude to me once when I asked for another plastic bag because the lady bagging my items made the bag very heavy to carry not evenly distributing the items I had purchased and said the bag was going to break because she loaded everything into one bag. The young bald manager said he would have to charge me under California state law. Ha, I would have had no problem if your employee would have bagged my items correctly to weight. Something that should be pretty self explanatory. I thought he was rude and was shocked Gelsons let a manager work at there establishment with horrible customer service. Besides the horrible man in the pizza department, he was short about 5 feet tall around 65 wearing a baseball hat and bald young manager about early 40s everyone else at this store was amazing. Watch out for them or you will prob have terrible customer service like I did. Not a Gelson's experience you would think would happen at ALL. Don't even get me started on how good this place is . When you are looking for a Caesar chicken sandwich with fries or salad .. look no further than WP express . For around $12 , you receive a delicious Caesar chicken sandwich on a bread that's so tasty and soft , it wouldn't be WP status without it . Let me just say this .. the fries are better than McDonald's , five guys , you get what I'm saying it's that good . Since I am absolutely obsessed with the Wolfgang Puck Express Cafe in the cellar of the Union Square Macy's in San Francisco, it was a given that I'd stop here for lunch on the drive from San Diego to San Jose. I was disappointed that this bore little resemblance to my beloved Wolfgang Puck in Macy's. This location in North Hollywood doesn't have a full Wolfgang menu, and in particular doesn' t have my boyfriend's favorite - the rotisserie chicken. Also, while individual pizzas in San Francisco are $6 or $8 with a salad and drink, here you can only get pizza for $9 or $15 (depending on if you get a small or large). If you were eating by yourself, by the time you bought the $9 pizza, a $5 side salad, and a $2 drink, you'd have spent $16 before tax. Also, the spicy chicken pizza just doesn't measure up. Too much cheese, some iffy pieces of chicken, and some mealy out of season tomatoes didn't work for me. I will give them credit for marinating the chicken in something spicy, which the SF location does not do (they've taken out all the spiciness for the tourists and instead leave out some red pepper flakes for people to make it spicy themselves). Overall, the pizza was just OK. Decent, but not worth the mile out of the way. read more

This is one of the most overlooked pizza places in North Hollywood. I tell people to go here all the time and they all always come back thanking me. Yes, this place gets busy. The oven is small and there is normally only 1 or 2 people working here so it can take a while to get your food, but big deal. If it's that big of a concern, order it in advance. In terms of the negative reviews, keep in mind this is located in a Gelsons with some of the most stuck up and pretentious customers in the valley. The only reason I am giving 5 stars is the customer service I received earlier today. I was first greeted by a Tall man with a white uniform on he ignored me for the first couple minutes and then greeted and told me to please wait. It's all the time I get 3 different males with some bad attitudes. But finally today I got approached by a young women that had a smile on her face and stopped what she was doing and helped me immediately as she saw me. She helped me with my order and was helping other customers as well while the other worker took his time pacing around. LINDA was her name , THANK YOU FOR THE AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE when your coworkers couldn't do the same! My fam and I were last minute shopping on Christmas Eve and saw the pepperoni pizza through there window. It looked soooo good and we decided to order two larges to go. He said give it 20 mins which is great because we needed to still finish up our grocery shopping. We rarely go to Gelson's but they carried certain items we needed. I never noticed the eatery there and was really excited to see how the pizza tasted. There were two gentlemen working there and both were super nice, even if it was busy with a mixture of procrastinators. The guy that gave us our pizza was super nice and made the whole experience pleasant. The pizza was delicious!! Right amount of cheese and sauce, the flavor is well balanced, and the quality of ingredients fits the price. I think two larges was around the $30 range. It's not pricey at all. What I appreciate the most about the pizza is the crust. I always waste the crust on pizzas because I can't stand them but that wasn't the case for Wolfgang's pizza. The dough was fresh and great quality that I gobbled up the entire slice, including the crust. I think next time, I'll ask if they have ranch or marinara to give us on the side. The Wolfgang Puck Express in Gelson's Supermarket in Valley Village is the absolute best! My favorite is the "Vegetable Pizza". It is so delicious! Lots of delicious olives and healthy vegetables, and cheese. It is to die for! A large size Vegetable pizza is only $15.99. You can't beat it. You can call ahead and have it waiting for you to pick-up in as little as 15 or 20 minutes. The next time I'm there I'll take some pictures to post. read more

The chicken aioli sandwich is fab... the salad dressing is tangy and delish and I've been meaning to find out if they bottle it. The roasted veggies pizza is amazing and so pretty! Every time I go to Gelsons on my lunch break and attempt to order a sandwich from Wolfgang Pucks they tell me that it's going to take 10 minutes?? This is with no one in front of me. You usually have 1 or 2 morons behind the counter just sitting there doing nothing, and like other people that have complained they tell you to just grab one that's already made! It's totally understandable if I ordered a pizza or if there was a line in front of me. There never is! It should take anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes to make a sandwich, and they know that. This review is long overdue! I have been going to this place for years. I drive 22 miles just for their sandwiches, their chicken aioli to be exact. The chicken is always so moist and full of flavor and the rest of the ingredients are always so fresh! I can honestly say this is the best sandwich i have ever tried in my life!! I have tried other wolfgang puck express and even other sandwich locations in the LA county area but I always end up going back to this same location and don't plan to stop going as long as they have the chicken aioli on that menu. Declining quality.... Was 4 star - now 3. We've enjoyed salads and pizza from this location for years. Over the years there have been various packaging changes and configuration changes to a couple of their salads. Recently though, they are getting cheap, maybe to save costs, maybe not. Our recent large Chinese chicken salad had a half full dressing container that barely covered the salad with any flavor.... Which is frustrating to find out after you arrive home and go to mix it. Last night we ordered a small pepperoni pomodoro pizza with added mushrooms. It was not fully cooked and was mediocre as the toppings were poorly arranged leaving way too much exposed crust with nothing on it. We hope they get back on track. read more

Honestly the WORST pizza I've ever had in my life. Terrible, undercooked raw dough. Runny, tasteless cheese. Toppings were unevenly distributed making the pizza extremely dense in the center making it impossible for the dough to rise. I added a topping of roasted garlic thinking it would be small pieces or oil, but the guy literally put 30 pieces of RAW garlic cloves on the pizza. This is my go-to lunch spot since I work nearby, I come here at least once a week. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, they even know my order through the phone when they ask me my name! Teo is the kitchen manager and he is super sweet, always pleased to make you special items. The Chicken Aioli sandwich is their best dish and you can get gourmet French fries with it if you don't want the Caesar salad it automatically comes with. I also love their to-go stuff they have at the fridge, I always get the small Chicken Caesar salad, it's good for an alternative to hot food when it's warm out. I have tried other Wolfgang Puck Express locations and none compare to this one except for maybe the one in Tarzana, but here you can take your food and eat near the floral area, it's quite relaxing as you admire all the beautiful flowers that surround you!! read more
