We got food to go so my only regret is not eating in person. They were very timely. Small place with seating for maybe 20 people. Was able to park in a small lot nearby. There's shopping places in the same area. We had the cucumbers, beef dumpling, veg dumpling, popcorn chicken and shrimp with zucchini dumpling. I liked everything but the veg one. I don't really like mushrooms - you have to like that. Everything else was great and I like that the skin is really thin. So you're tasting and eating the filling. They are large size and reasonably priced. Worth the trip to Silverlake. read more

My first time it was a wonderful place to be at and eat at. Way better than din tai fung by the way. Service is absolutely fantastic. The ambiance of the place is calm, cute, chill, and clean. Thick noodles were covered in spicy red oil and were extremely wide and long and hard to manage with chopsticks. Asked to have them cut shorter. No. Do you have scissors so I can cut them? No. My white shirt was splashed with red spots by the time I left. Beef rib had very little meat and was fatty. No soup spoons for the soup dumplings which were mediocre and not served with ginger. We had a nice lunch here yesterday. The shaomai were bigger than expected. The wrappers are so delicate and pretty, but best to eat the dumplings hot cuz the top part got chewy/gummy once they cooled off. Our favorite things were the mushroom fries (surprisingly not greasy at all), scallion pancake-so thin and crispy, cucumber salad-tasty, crunchy and fresh, and the chicken & mushroom shaomai. The shrimp and zucchini shaomai sounded good but we found them to be bland. The service was quick and friendly and we liked how they paced out the dumplings and served each order of 6 dumplings in 2 separate bamboo baskets so they weren't crowded or stuck to each other. Happened to stop by this place while visiting the Baggu store next to it. I didn't realize this place just opened! It's super clean inside and the man (who I'm assuming is the owner?) was very sweet and welcoming. The prices were very affordable considering this is LA. We got two 3-piece dumplings, scallion pancakes, and a cucumber salad all for less than $25. The dumpling skin was delicate and the meat was very juicy! They're bigger than normal sized xialongbaos. For two people, this was a very filling meal! I personally try to avoid coming to Silverlake often but I'm willing to stop by more just for this place. :) read more

Picked up an order while they were slammed. Had to wait about 30 minutes longer (I didn't mind!) and they gave me a free drink for the wait. Cut them some slack, they are new! Amazing northern style dumplings -- the lamb dumplings are great. Soup dumplings very good. Cucumber salad was fresh and tasty. Remind me of my favorite Northern Chinese place back home. Shumai beef was definitely our favorite to eat (both steamed and pan fried.) Noodles had a good consistency, a little too much peanut sauce for our taste. Really liked the scallion pancakes and fried mushrooms. Not a ton of seating, but has a nice outside patio surrounded by other cute shopping stores. All plates were disposable. I recently picked up a few orders of to go dumplings on my way home. My boyfriend and I were blown away with how great the dumplings were! From the minute I walked into the restaurant and smelled the seasonings I knew the food would be great! We ordered the cucumber salad, veggie dumplings, shrimp dumpkings, and fried mushrooms. Very new, and definitely still adjusting but I liked it. My favorites were the pan fried beef shaomai, the scallion pancakes, and the mushroom fries (though this could always be a bit crispier). I was not a fan of the fusion shaomai such as chicken+mushroom and shrimp+zucchini, but I can see how those would appeal to people who are craving a healthier substitute to the traditional version. There was plenty of seating and the man who was serving us was nice enough to give us the scallion pancake for free for messing up our order (brought out the wrong item). The place is located in this quaint little plaza, and parking could be tough. If I could, I would give it more like 3.5 stars because I wouldn't choose to eat here myself, but I would not be opposed if people were to suggest it. I'm too spoiled by 626 Chinese food. read more

This place is soooo good. The dumplings are so fresh and well made. The pan fried dumplings weren't too oily or greasy and the steamed dumplings were perfectly fluffy. Chili oil is great. Love seeing the open kitchen and the team make these perfect dumplings. We also had the scallion pancakes and cucumber salad which were also delicious. It's a quick service type of spot but who I assume was the manager is SO warm, friendly, and helpful. Him and the team really elevate a traditional quick service spot into something quite nice.
