There are even hula performances right next to restaurant which you can enjoy if you get the seating next to the street. We came for Kate lunch on weekday which apparently was their happy hour . Pizzas, nachos were part of happy hour and ended up being quite a good deal . Service was excellent. Being vegetarian I went for their garden chicken option for nachos which was pretty good. My family loved the food here so much, we came back three times in one week! The food at yard house is surprisingly consistent between visits and locations. I recommend coming during happy hour for good deals. This location has loco moco, which is a local special. Poke nachos, boneless wings, and the 20oz ribeye were my favorites. I have been to Yard House in the mainland, but this was my first time visiting the Oahu location. We parked across the street where it was an hourly charge if the ticket was not validated. I wouldn't rely on this parking though because they may put a sign out when they're busy stating only for guest parking. When we arrived at Yard House, we were informed it was as 30-45 min wait, but the bar was open if we were interested. We were texted exactly 45 min later to be seated. My companion was hoping to get a booth at a more quiet area, and we were offered a table in the lanai area. We declined due to not wanting to catch any draft. So we were seated at a booth inside instead. Inside the restaurant was pretty loud, to the point where you had to speak up so your other party could actually hear you. Our server was the beautiful Momi. She was super busy, but tried to assist us whenever she had a moment. Our table had an electronic menu that also had the feature to alert our server Momi if we needed her and to pay the bill. You could also play games on it, but I did not try this feature. We were given paper menus as well, but were hard to see since the area we were seated had very dim lighting. My companion ordered the avocado toast, the 12 crispy traditional wings with whiskey black pepper sauce, and a coke. I ordered the whiskey glazed salmon and a guavarita. I was able to try my companions chicken wings & avocado toast. The chicken wings were tender and tasty with the whiskey sauce. I was surprised at the large portion of the avocado toast. I've ordered avocado toast from other places, which were only half the portion of what was given here. I really enjoyed the combination of the whipped feta, red onion, arugula, and tomatoes. The flavor pairings really complimented each other! As for my meal, sometimes I like to swap out my carb for veggies. I haven't had mashed potatoes since Thanksgiving; so no substitutions this time :) My salmon was cooked just right. The seasoning of the salmon alone was not very strong, but probably because you are meant to use the accompanying sauce that was given. The salmon when paired with the whiskey sauce was phenomenal! Sweet like teriyaki, but with that deep, whiskey flavor! The roasted carrots and baby broccoli were nice and tender. I also enjoyed the parmesan mashed potatoes as well. I had a clean plate when all was said and done lol! This restaurant is known for its extensive beer selection although it also has a good list of wines and some cocktails as well. I opted for a cocktail that peaked my interest, a guavarita. My guavarita was given before my meal. I was disappointed at the size of my drink. For some reason (Maybe I'm used to Vegas portions? Lol), I was expecting my drink to be much larger. My drink was a mixture of el jimador silver tequila, citrus agave, lime, & li hing mui rim. Although my drink lacked in size, it made up for in flavor! This drink was SO yummy. At first, I was sipping it with the straw, but that was a big mistake. You need to get some of that li hing goodness with each sip for the full experience! What an addictive drink lol! Overall, I'd say 4.5 stars. Very minor deduction as it was difficult at times to get a hold of our server Momi since she was extremely busy. Momi was very pleasant and accommodating to our needs whenever she was available though. Not a place to have a quiet dinner, but perfect for hanging out with friends to have a good meal with solid drinks in an energetic setting. My friends are also a big fans of their drink selections. In most cases, the quality of their food and drinks are consistent. Service is usually friendly but wait times can vary. Out of all the Yard House locations I've been to, this location is my favorite. It's centrally located in Waikiki and they validate parking if you park at the Embassy Suites. It's topped with fresh ahi with peppers, nori, sauce and other toppings. It's a great appetizer but I thought it was a bit small for what you pay for. My boyfriend ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich as his meal. He mentioned the chicken was cooked very well and was juicy but it wasn't spicy at all. Just a slight burn and sweetness to it. We both enjoyed our drinks- I ordered a pineapple lych-ini and my boyfriend got a margarita with a li hing mui powder rim. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We didn't have to wait for refills on our drinks. I had the fish and chips, it was the best I've had. It comes with a tarter sauce with a kick. First, the poke nachos had way more poke than what's pictured. The lobster garlic noodles were a lot more garlicky than this. The wings (not pictured) were over cooked and those are one of those simple things you cannot miss. Our server did give us a heads up that they were short staffed so it was understandable but she did spill a bunch of drinks during our dining experience. I felt bad because she was probably overwhelmed. I also tried the strawberry mule but didn't really like it. I hope the Vegas location is still a place we can count on or maybe we can try this location again on another day. Overall, it was alright. Since our hotel is a block away, I've always noticed Yard House during our annual visits. It was always lively and always busy with patrons but never had the opportunity to check it out. During our recent trip, our local friends wanted us to meet up here for drinks on our final evening before we flew home the next day. Our friends had dinner here as we arrived to join them at a table overlooking the Board Walk. You can feel the vibe here with music and the patrons enjoying their food and drinks. I came to realize the Yard House offers 100+ draft American craft and import beers along with craft cocktails, but beer is their passion. Looking over the beer menu, they offerings include IPAs, Seasonal/Rotating, Fruit Beer, Light, Crisp, Sour, Wheat, Stout, Golden, Dark, Amber, Cider, Seltzer, Gluten Free, Zero Alcohol, and you can get a House Flight of six beers or build your own 4 pack. Since I love stouts and porters, I decided on a Rogue Nitro Chocolate Stout. It was tasty stout with nice milk chocolate flavor with a hint of creaminess. Glad I finally got to visit Yard House and have a beer there. Waitress was friendly. If you like beer, Yard House will have many options for you. And is the perfect spot if you are just looking for something on the casual side as a lot of the restaurants in the area can be a little more on the formal side of the dining spectrum. It really has that hometown dining experience which is nice in such a tourist area. Very spacious on the inside with outdoor seating as well, but there are only a few tables if you decide to do that. They have a decent size food menu with options for everyone, and and even larger tap list. I thought it was a little overboard, but you can order a 64oz beer, That is a lot of beer for a single serving. Not saying 64oz is a lot or anything, but depending on how fast you drink, your beer will most likely start getting warm so I don't recommend getting one that large. For my meal I ordered the Grilled Korean Beef Tacos. I want to talk highly of them, but they were actually quite boring. The meat did not taste much like Korean bbq, and most of its flavor came from the sweet gochujang broccoli slaw the tacos were topped with. That would be fine and all if the meat had a better marinade or was actually seasoned. Expectations were not met with this order. I still love this restaurant because of the chill laid back vibes, and just how its stands out differently then all the beach themed restaurants in the area. We waited about an hour for our party of 5 (no don't cue the theme song for the 90s show, it wasn't intentional). This location is surprisingly large and was packed. They are of course known for their beer with food being the side dish. Once seated we were immediately greeted by our waiter and explained the specials they had on tap. The drinks and appetizer came out fast, the main course took a bit longer. At the end you can split your bill and pay by card using the kiosks at your table. It was not just a light spill, but rather a puddle that kept splashing on us anytime anyone moved an inch. We had three and a wheelchair, and the sitting was great for G'mas wheelchair. We started with drinks and calamari appetizer. The calamari appetizer has a jalapeño tarter sauce that was great! Our drinks arrived, and we ordered our meals. ( drinks) the Hawaiian mule was kicking'! Wife says good stuff! We had a kids garlic butter pasta, pineapple chicken, a steak bowl, and lobster garlic noodles... all of the dishes were great and portions were great as well! The reason why I gave 5 stars was the food was good and the waiter also told us their food waste is sent to pig farms to feed pigs. Ambiance: loud, but the tables were far enough from each other that you could still have conversation with your own table. Food: we all generally liked what we ordered. I had the ahi crunch salad, typically I'm not out ordering raw fish from sports bars, but the salad called out to me and I have no regrets, it was delicious. 30 Minutes after being seated and served a 23oz Craft Brew our server came over to take our order and told us that they had stock issues and didn't have any entrees or appetizers to offer. She stopped by our table a few times before this and never mentioned anything. So we are all settled in feeling the nice vide and had to leave and find something else near by last minute. Great happy hour. 3-5pm there is a bunch of pizzas and appetizers that are half off. Great beer and drink selection. Pizzas are pretty good ( some better than others ). We had the blackened ahi appetizer which was really good. The fish selection has seemed to have gone downhill some. I feel like before there was a lot more local fish and it seems to be dwindling . Each of the 5 of us enjoyed our meals and they had such a wide variety that we all agreed we'd probably try something different next time.
