I struggled to write this review as I try really hard not to do too many chain restaurants. But my teenager who's extremely picky wanted to eat here twice. I like tart drinks and the bartender was able to offer me a drink that wasn't on the menu: a Sweet Tart Martini. It was perfectly tart!! My go to is the sashimi crunch salad. However, I have liked everything I have tried on the menu: from the deconstructed California roll to the chicken and mashed potatoes. Because it is so popular, waits are common. Fortunately, it is conveniently located near some prime spots for shopping and snacking: ABC, an art gallery, cookies, ice cream, and other shops. If you're looking for something on the "healthier" side, fresh salads or grilled veggies and meat options are plentiful. There's something for everyone here including tons of vegetarian or vegan options. Portion sizes are generous. For starters, I really enjoyed the ahi poke nachos. I asked for the sauce on the side. They're happy to made some modifications for allergies or preferences. Fish tacos and shrimp tacos are great. Can be a bit of a wait around dinner time, we waited 35 min, but there are tons of shops nearby to stroll around so it makes the wait time fly by. They texted us when our table was ready. Been going here for years and stopped going for a bit and came back last weekend, pretty disappointed with my experience. The waitress was nice, but i could tell she was stressed out with how many tables she had. We waited an hour for our meal to come out but didn't mind since we were chatting with some friends. I noticed that their menu had changed, hoping it was for the better but it wasn't great. Ordered the Parm truffle fries, didn't come with the sauce it usually comes with so we had to order a side of it. Fries were soggy. I ordered the vampire tacos this time which is ok but the rice and beans are so different from how it was before. I uploaded a video with how nice the presentation was before and and look at how the presentation is in the image.. Visiting Waikiki and the Yard House was close to our hotel so we stopped in for Lunch. The food was spot on, great presentation and it came out quick. The restaurant is open air, comfortable and clean. With a few outside tables and inside seating. The servers were all very nice, our waitress was amazing and had a conversation with us about things to do and try while we're here, we took one of her suggestions and will be going on a sunset cruise!! Yard House is always a great option if you have a large party and want a variety of food to share, or if you just want to take advantage of the HH deals. The only thing that disappointed me at the Waikiki location was that they were all out of their local cider brews except for the dragonfruit flavor. This isn't even a part of their happy hour deal. I think their poke nachos are a bit better here compared to the mainland. It seems to be very busy here during happy hour times so I'd expect high wait times depending on your party number. read more

Great deal if you go for happy hour...money wise. Just stick to the nachos and/or pizza. All other dishes we tried were blah. Heads up though as we have been here 3 different times and a party of 3. NONE of the food will come out at the same time. Two of us were completely finished before the 3rd dish came out during one visit. All three visits, the food came out separately and quite spaced out. Service is absolutely terrible. Servers are nice enough but you will have to ask multiple times for things. I will give multiple opportunities (hence the 3rd visit) before I leave a negative review. Great experience! Our server Justin was absolutely wonderful! Great personality and was very attentive. 10/10 would recommend just based on service alone. We only came from drinks and apps but both were great! Drinks came quickly and made to perfection! We got spinach dip (classic, hot & cheesy goodness), buffalo wings (on the hotter side but super tasty if you can stand the heat) & calamari (crispy & fresh). It's definitely on the louder side. 11/17/22 Thursday Officially this is my first time here... in terms of the food I've had eaten it in other places from it being catered or ordered so writing a review was not really gonna count in my opinion. On this day I had a chance to eat there for lunch. It was about 1pm. I ordered first an ice tea. It was a black tea/ iced tea. And it did hit the spot, considering I was thirsty! When I first was sat to the table I was asked if the table was okay. It was, but then I realized the height from the chair to the level of the table was a little lower then the height of the chair. So I asked my lovely waitress (lucrative and so sweet) Nancy. Nancy did such a good job of making that move for me, she didn't make me feel bad for moving - some places do that cause you were suppose to be in a specific section! But Nancy took care of me till the end and my lunch was so awesome let me get into the details. How many times in your life have you been to those beer festivals ((well if you don't drink beer then this might be a slight stretch for you)) anyway. These beer festivals have a giving of great, invented, or even the best beers around... so how is all this relevant to my lunch? Well with great beers is great food! The kind of food that "specifically" goes well with beer. I figured since the Yard House is infamous for their happy hour and or sports time menu, I try something that might go well with a beer... and I just imagined my ice tea was a beer! And you know what? It totally is just the perfect thing that would go with a beer! The beer battered fish and chips (in this case I decided to do onion rings) and the huge portions are just right for say 3-4 people with another appetizer! The thick breading and slight to crisp outer part to the fish (whiting or cod) has a absorption compacity to have you hold down 4 or more pints of beer! Trust me- you wanna eat good food like this to pair with beer! And if you are a Guinness drinker.... Get two platters corona and Stella Artois can handle a whole platter of fish alone. Let me put it this way you pick the onion rings and the game better have over time or a few points past "5" for hockey!! Even that infamous Muhammad Ali fight would be a testament to the pairing of beer to beer battered fish from Yard House. - yeah it's that good you'll either one or the other beer or beer battered fish!! Good spot to go when in Waikiki, a lot of food and drink options. This time around I got the Jambalaya with linguine noodles instead of rice which I enjoyed! I'm sure it's probably really good with the rice too. My husband got the Korean ribeye with fries and the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and had great flavors. We also got the hot & spicy edamame. It had a good kick to it, they were really yummy. Love me some garlicky edamame too. Our server was friendly and thankfully service was fairly quick too! It was a weeknight and it can definitely be a lot busier. So anticipate a wait. The vibe is somewhat a fancier sports bar/restaurant. Very good restaurant with good food and very good service. Only real drawback is 1) it's in Waikiki and 2) hostesses are not friendly at all, and on a fairly consistent basis. But once you get in, you're on your way. Wife and I came in for the rare happy hour visit and were seated after a fairly short wait at a two top. Enough room for us two but not we prefer to next to each other, not so much across. Unfortunately our table was basically between two walking paths and so weren't able to move to each other. Cocktails were their spicy margarita and a draft for me with a couple of pupus we shared. Again, they do a very good job with their food and a wide variety of beverages to go along with them. The place was packed on a weekday evening. The ambiance was great. Though they have a lot of seating, it was full and there was a one hour wait time. My friends and I stopped here on Monday, Dec 29th around 11pm. I got a burger and he ordered a steak and calamari. My other friend is vegetarian. The both of us who ate meat had terrible food poisoning the entire next day, we know it was the yard house food because it was all we had that day. Being that we both had different kinds of meats and both ended up sick, brings me to question if they were serving old, left-out food from that day since we ate relatively late in the night. This was disappointing since I've been a handful of times before and the food has been good. I also haven't had food poisoning in YEARS, so there's definitely something weird going on in their kitchen for this to happen to both of us. I will give this review and update. It was pouring rain so I did not want to walk for for food and since this is attached to the hotel, gave it another go. Much better this time. Wow! Food was absolutely delicious, everything tasted really fresh, especially all the seafoods. Our server, I believe his name was Sequel, was an absolute GEM. On vacation in Honolulu and came in twice. I'll cut to the result, definitely worth stopping in for dinner. We had the Wisconsin Cheese Curds both nights (1/2 price during happy hour). Being from Wis these are legit, the only gripe is official Wi cheese curds come with ranch! Had the blue cheeseburger the first night and while did not taste the blue cheese it was a damn good burger. Second night was the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich, again while not Nash ille hot it was probably in my top 5 for chicken sandwiches which made up for the hot part. I have been to Yard House in California many times so I thought a visit to this Hawaii location would be the same great tasting food and experience but I was wrong. I visited on a Saturday evening and was told the wait would be an hour. I set a phone timer for 45 mins to remember to return and I went to walk the beach because it was near by and I didn't want to wait with the crowds outside of the restaurant. I got a text 10 mins later that my table was ready so I had to run back to the restaurant. I wish they had provided a more accurate wait time so I wasn't running. I was seated at a table near the bar all the tables are squished next to each other making it difficult to move around. The server took my order and from there I only saw her one more time that whole night. So I would say service was just okay ... I didn't get checked on and no one came around with a water refill. I always get the nachos and mac + cheese in CA so I ordered the same chicken nachos and an adult mac + cheese to share. This is plenty of food for two people to share. I would recommend the smaller mac + cheese because I always struggle to finish the larger adult size. The tortilla chips in the chicken nachos tasted like warmed up store bought chips (think Kirkland chips but a different shape) they were too salty. The chicken in both the nachos and mac + cheese were so disappointing. They were the same chicken in both dishes just in different shapes (nachos had smaller chicken pieces). This is not fresh chicken and I'm not even sure if it was chicken at all. The texture was off... it was very soft like a nugget. No flavor and it was not good and it was sad since it was the main protein source of each dish. I had to picked around it. I would steer clear of any chicken dishes here. I did really enjoy the flavorful mac + cheese minus the chicken. I would recommend only trying that if you had to eat here. read more

Had two very bad experiences here. First one was me and my coworkers came here after work, it was about 40 minutes before closing, but we just wanted a drink then we're going to go somewhere else for dinner. The hostess seated us very quickly, but once we got to our table, we did not get serviced. Multiple employees walked past us, looked at us but didn't say anything or come to help us. After about 20 minutes later, one of my friends went to the bar and asked if someone could help us. The bartender then told us that the section we were sat in was closed but we could go to the bar if we wanted a drink. We ended up walking out. Second time was I went with my family while on a staycation at the Embassy right above them. The food was good, but all of the silverware had old food stuck to it after being rolled into napkins. Some shared plates were also gross and still dirty. We asked for plastic utensils. Very gross, staff needs to be more attentive when making their roll ups read more
