Overall the experience was not great. Was looking for a Korean restaurant that serves Kimchi chigae (Kimchi soup) but the servers were so rude! They wouldn't serve side dishes until main dish comes out cause they don't want to refill them. You can only pick 3 side dishes for refills is what the waitress said. They also charged $2 for Togo containers.

This is the most authentic korean restaurant in ktown approved by a korean. Even my brother, the most pickiest eater i know, had two bowls of rice here. I always get the squid. It's addicting, firey, spicy, just perfection. It was my first time trying cod and it was so gooooood. Fish is super soft and goes well with radish.

Despite the negative reviews about the service my significant other and I decided to try the restaurant. To our surprise the environment was truly welcoming as each server checked in on how we were doing. One of the owners had the sweetest smile and ensured that our sides were refilled. There was no extra charge. The food was absolutely delicious and beyond one of my favorites. This has to be one of the best kimchi stew dishes I have tried, and trust me I have tried plenty. The pork was very fresh. I will definitely be coming back. P.S. As a fair warning they do charge extra for to go containers in case you would like to bring your own! There is also free parking :)

This is THE SPOT that Korean celebrities visit Los Anageles and go eat secretly because it's a true hidden gem. Not just saying "hidden gem" just to get your attention but it's a true true authentic Korean gem that only Koreans go. If you see non-Korean there, they really know Korean food. Mad props to them! If you are one of them, leave a comment below because you need to be recognized! I CANNOT emphasize how legit this Korean restaurant is. I asked to go inside the kitchen to film so check out their kitchen (because I'm all about who cooks, cleanliness, freshness of the ingredients, I want to know what goes into my food and the process) and I saw two Korean mom chefs cooking. Kitchen was clean, ingredients were fresh and washed well! And the staff told me that the owner grandma comes in 5am in the morning, everyday to make fresh banchans (side dishes) in small batches so it's fresh every single day. Such a dedicated restaurant owner. This grandma is serious about serving us authentic, true, Korean mommy home cooked meal. If you are a Korean and you grew up eating authentic, traditional Korean food, this spot will be your favorite Korean restaurant. You literally can tell by tasting her banchans. I've been looking for a true Korean restaurant like this. Like you'd see in K-dramas with lovely Korean grandma !! Highly recommend Yet Gol @yetgol_losangeles 1144 S Western Ave. Ste 105. Low key spot, dont trust some of the reviews. Food is really good, ask for the english menu if you cant read korean. Ordered the special pork belly kimchi stew to share for two people and still had leftovers. Super fragrant, sour, umami kimchi stew, perfect for a colder LA day. Need to try the monk fish stew next

Today, I took my mother out to a Korean restaurant we found on YouTube, Yet Gol. We tried their special menu items: Pork Belly Kimchi Stew (2 servings), Bulgogi, and Bindaetteok (Korean pancake). The server mentioned that the kimchi stew is a 2-serving dish and only comes with two bowls of rice, so we decided to order bulgogi and one bindaetteok as well. * Bulgogi: The meat was tender, but the seasoning was a bit bland. For the price, it didn't feel like great value. (Score: 3/5) * Bindaetteok: Two small, thick pancakes were served with plain soy sauce on the side. I think jalapeño soy sauce or seasoned soy sauce would have been a better match. (Score: 3.5/5) * Pork Belly Kimchi Stew: This dish was the highlight! The portion was generous, enough for 4 people to enjoy. The broth was refreshing, not too spicy, and the pork had no unpleasant odor--it was delicious. The kimchi in the stew was also flavorful and perfectly complemented the dish. (Score: 4.5/5) The side dishes (7-8 varieties) were average, and we packed the leftovers (kimchi stew and bulgogi) to-go. However, they charged $1 for a large container and $0.50 for a small one. Overall, I'd revisit this restaurant and am interested in trying their Pollock Hot Pot and Steamed Black Cod next time. Overall Score for Today's Dishes: 3.67/5

Best galchi jorim I ever had! The radishes are big and soft! The dish will feed 2 people. The place is for real Korean. The menu had no English. Everyone there was Korean. If you don't speak or read Korean, may have some difficulty. Not sure if they speak English.

Came here on Sunday evening with my in-laws. Almost all the customers were Korean. Service was attentive to both Korean and non Korean customers. We got English menus for the young people and Korean menus for the in-laws. Food was traditional and delicious, reminded me of Kang Nam on Olympic. Banchans were average. We ordered a ton and my favorite was galbi tang. Price was reasonable, about 10% to 20% cheaper than other places. Parking was easy but every space was compact. There was an older security guard watching the lot, felt pretty safe. Overall, we had really great dinner and will add this restaurant to our come back again list.

The kalguksu was incredible comforting, with chewy, long, freshly made noodles in a rich, savory broth that was packed with clams. The beef bulgogi was also delicious. It came with a side of salad and rice. The bulgogi was tender, well-merinated, and paired well together with the sides. The bossam was amazing! The best we've tasted. We all loved the perilla seed kalguksu due to its taste and also bc it's so healthy for you. The owner came by to check how we liked the galbi kalguksu since it was a newly created dish and we told her that it was delicious, seasoned just right. Before the meal, as they brought out the side dishes, they brought out barley rice with denjang on top to mix with yeol-moo kimchi. That was a special touch. We absolutely loved the food there. I saved the info so that we can return when we visit Koreatown again in the near future. Highly recommend this place to anyone who craves exceptional Korean food.

I really wanted authentic Korean food that was not kbbq and not tofu and this place delivered! This restaurant is in a small strip mall. The strip mall has other Korean food options. They have a valet parking system of sorts but we didn't pay, we self parked. The attendant told us we were fine. It was approx 9pm when we arrived and also a week night. I have no idea how much valet parking is here. We were a small party of two. Upon arrival, we were notified they were out of RICE. Um..what?? That's a good problem (for them to have) but not for consumers. I feel this really limited our options to just soup. I honestly didn't want soup but there wasn't much else we could order. The bowls were large and came out piping hot. It was a satisfying meal and not too heavy. The price point was on the pricey side. Our waiter told us business has not been the same post covid. Some dishes are between $40-$60. I asked for a soup and they were able to make it less spicy. My friend got a soup with dumplings in it. He put a good amount of soy sauce to give the broth some life. Also, the banchan is on point. We asked for a refill and devoured the second portions. If you wanna impress friends with Korean food, bring them here! Its a casual place.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
