Inside decor was bright and clean. I liked their modern concept in a well lit room. The food was overly salty to me. I had to order a side of rice with my meal. Also, rice does not come with the entrees and prices for sides are not listed on the menu. I think it was $1 to add the bowl of rice but I honestly can't remember because I only glanced at my receipt. Service was super friendly. The server was great but the host who seated us doesn't seem to know Whats going on when we asked about specials. When we paid the server asked if we wanted to pay cash or credit. We asked if there's a price difference or charge for using credit, she just said cash is better for them. I didn't see any signs posted anywhere that there's a charge for using credit, but I also sat right out front by the door. I was not near the register nor that I take a walk through the restaurant. We paid in cash because it wasn't clear whether or not there would be a charge for using a credit card. The food had good flavor, but overall overly salted I wouldn't come back because there were plenty of other great Chinese food in San Gabriel Valley, but it is worth a try. I got in at 11:30 with no issues but when I was leaving at 12:30 the lunch rush was crazy. There was a long wait. The XLB tasted gamey to me. My husband thinks the meat might've gone bad. We couldn't finish it. read more

This is our second time here and it never disappoints! Service is attentive, ambience is modern and bright, and the food is absolutely delicious. The popcorn chicken was amazing. The breading is very crispy. I like the texture more than other restaurants that offers popcorn chicken. The pork chop friend rice was very good. Great little spot! The service is always kind and attentive. Food also comes out really quick! I've been really happy about the service and food that we get from Yum Long. Everything tastes really fresh and well made. One of our staples has become the green beans with ground beef. The corn soup is also very tasty and nostalgic. We've tried the rice cakes and, although it's not typical to see rice cakes without a soy glaze, we enjoyed that it was flavor packed. One thing I will say that is underwhelming is the dumplings and xiao long bao. We've tried a couple of variations of the XLB and the dumplings and just don't really think it's on par with the rest of their dishes. All in all despite the shortcomings we have, and still will, have Yum Long in our rotation. read more

It was ok, but you can wait for the hype to die down to try it. It's a very similar menu to DTF and food quality is not that different either. That said, very yummy! It was cheaper than DTF from what I recall and the dry pot cauliflower was my absolute favorite. Only thing is the cauliflower and noodles were classified as spicy and it really wasn't spicy at all - just good food! Other thing to note is the restaurant inside was smaller than I expected. I recently dined at Yum Long, and while the food was okay, the dessert experience was extremely disappointing. At the end of the meal, they served dessert dumplings with different fillings, including banana, strawberry cream cheese, and matcha. My friend does not like banana, so when the dessert dumplings were handed out, he was given what was supposed to be a different flavor. Unfortunately, the dumplings got mixed up, and he ended up receiving the banana-filled one. Thankfully, he isn't allergic to bananas, but if someone with a food allergy had been served the wrong dessert, the consequences could have been much more serious. When I informed one of the waitresses about the mistake, her response was simply, "Surprise," instead of apologizing. I was shocked by how casually the situation was handled. I asked to speak with a manager, but the response from management was not reassuring either. Restaurants should clearly identify dessert flavors or make sure their staff know exactly which dessert dumpling is which before serving them. Food preferences and allergies should be taken seriously, and mistakes like this should be handled with more care and professionalism. Because of how the situation was handled and the lack of accountability shown by both the staff and management, I don't think I'll be returning. read more

This restaurant is new so lots of hypes since we had to wait for 15 minutes to be seated on a weekday for lunch. But it is worth the wait. Ambience -- (4/5) The inside has warm wood finishes and a clean, modern look that feels fresh and welcoming. It's a nice space to settle in for a relaxed meal. Food -- (5/5) We ordered four dishes and came away mostly impressed. The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) were the highlight of the meal -- easily one of the best we've had in the LA area. Each one was incredibly juicy and full of flavor. The dan dan noodles were another winner, rich and savory with a great depth of flavor. We also ordered the combo dessert xiao long bao, which came in fun flavors like matcha, chocolate, and strawberry. Every single one was delicious -- a sweet treat we'd definitely recommend saving room for. The one dish that let us down was the shredded chicken with black truffle. Despite the name, there was very little truffle flavor, which was disappointing. Pricing & Value -- (5/5) We felt the prices were very fair for the quality and portions we got. Soup and tendon can be a bit salty on its own but when you add the soup with the noodles, the noodles soak up the flavor very well and the soup mellows out. Still on the heavier side of flavor for me but I can tell it's a very good, flavorful soup. Tendon was very soft. My husband ordered D1 and the regular beef was soft and had a good, evenly distributed flavor throughout the meat. Husband said he did not find the noodle soup salty and he's also on the lighter side of flavor profile like me. Beef roll: ordered this since the pics on yelp showed them rolled very evenly with filling. A little expensive, it could be a meal price, but the amount could also be a meal. Beef roll came looking exactly like what I saw in pics; good amount of filling and rolled evenly. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be crispy on the outside since I ordered take out but it could be crispier. I'll prob air fry later for a later meal. Crispness was the only con, the beef roll was very good! The beef isn't dry and tough, good amount of sauce for flavor. Would definitely recommend. Overall, beef noodle soup and beef roll were excellent. Already recommended the place to my sister. Be warned, ordered around opening time (Saturday) and when I went to pick up, the place was already full within the first hour of opening.

It tasted like lightly sweetened black sesame paste mixed into what seemed like a combination of mochi and agar. The small parking lot in the back is free. We got lucky finding a spot in the late morning, but when we were ready to back out after getting our food, cars were either circling the lot or waiting for someone to leave.

There's a large underground garage for parking. We got lucky with a spot as a car was just leaving when we pulled in, so I'm not sure how hard it is to find parking during peak times, but there were a lot of cars coming in so I imagine it could be a bit difficult on weekends. We came to the cafe Saturday morning around 11:30 and managed to beat the lunch rush. They had tables available when we arrived, so my party of 4 was seated in a couple minutes once they prepared the table. It was quite spacious inside with plenty of space between each table, which made it easier for us with a bulky stroller. The decor was really fun to look at as well, as they have a lot of Hong Kong themed decoration. My friend got the Hong Kong milk tea to drink but it was pretty bad. He said the tea flavor was way too strong. I tried a sip and agree it wasn't very good. As expected of a Hong Kong cafe, the menu was large and had a huge selection of dishes. It took us a while to look through everything and figure out what we wanted. We ended up sharing the following dishes: #95 signature fish fillet ($19.95) - didn't know what to expect as there was no description of the dish on the menu. It was fried and coated in a sweet salty sauce. It was good but tasted pretty standard #120 Hainan chicken rice ($18.95) - probably my least favorite dish of the meal. It was served completely chilled, and the rice didn't have the fragrant chicken flavor I was expecting #151 seafood chow fun ($15.95) - this was my favorite dish! we got it with gravy for a change (we usually always get this dry) and it really came smothered in sauce. Despite that, we could still taste the wok hei in the rice noodle #176 grilled pork chop ($15.95) - pork chop was delicious! but the mushroom sauce we got on the side was very meh; it didn't have much flavor #176 grilled chicken steak ($15.95) - mostly one friend was eating this dish, but I tried a piece of the chicken and it was solid. Had such an amazing experience at this xiao long bao spot! We came in with a large party of 14 people, and they accommodated us so quickly and smoothly without making us feel rushed or overwhelmed. That alone impressed us, but the service and food made the experience even better. The food came out incredibly fast, and everything was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. The xiao long bao were packed with flavor, perfectly juicy, and definitely some of the best we've had. Every dish we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared, from the noodles to the fried rice and appetizers. What really stood out was the staff -- every server we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and constantly smiling. They checked on us often, made sure drinks and dishes were taken care of, and handled our big group with such patience and professionalism. We decided to go with the pork. This dish is stir-fried rice noodles with egg, tofu, fresh bean sprouts, green onion, and crushed peanuts. It had the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, savory, and nutty flavors. The noodles were cooked perfectly and tasted super flavorful. The parking lot is shared with some other businesses and it seems that there are plenty of parking spots during most of the day. One issue that especially stands out is the 90-minute dining limit. We completely understand and respect that policy. The problem isn't the time limit itself--it's how it's communicated. The food can sometimes take a while to come out, and we're never given any indication of how much time we have left. Instead of a server stopping by to say something like, "Just a heads up, you have about 20 minutes left if you'd like to place any final orders," we've had the payment terminal brought to our table while we were still eating, with no explanation except "Your 90 min are up" . It feels abrupt and honestly disrespectful. A simple reminder ahead of time would make the experience feel much more hospitable while still enforcing the restaurant's policy. I hope management sees this as constructive feedback because I genuinely want this restaurant to succeed. The food is some of the best around, and that's why I continue recommending it. I just believe the level of customer service should match the quality of the food.
