A recent find in the SGV that just opened around 2 weeks ago. First step in and loved the interior. It's really clean and well decorated. The staff was super kind and welcoming which made our first visit there very memorable. The food itself was amazing. I really liked their signature pork xiao long bao!! My only note is that I wish the cucumbers were cut a bit smaller (they're pretty thick to eat in one bite) but that's also mainly a personal preference. XLB spots have been popping up left and right recently! Came here for dinner over the weekend and ordered the cucumber salad, XLB, and dandan noodles for a light dinner. The cucumbers had a thick cut and a nice crunch. The dandan noodles were yummy and had the perfect meat to noodle ratio. I loved the XLB! The soup was tasted so clean, clear, yet flavorful that I didn't even mind that the skin was a little thicker compared to other restaurants. I like that the food wasn't overly greasy. Decor was simple and modern. Service was great too. Would love to try their beef noodle soup and dessert dumplings one day. Newest addition to my rotation of food spots to frequent! read more

Food was great and authentic and there wasn't that much wait. The Fried Pork chop rice was my favorite dish. We also ordered the Dan Dan noodles, Cucumber salad, XLB and Spicy Wontons. All the food came out really quickly and the service was super friendly. I would definitely come back. read more

I saw a few reels online about the opening of this restaurant and decided to check it out with a friend. They say the first impression is everything and I was very impressed by their decor, looks, the set up, the cutlery, silverware and staff. You can see that there was a lot of thought put into the presentation of this restaurant. The result is a well executed top-notch eatery. I guess I'm going to give my first 5 star rating for a restaurant in the SGV. Now, let's move from all the glitter and showmanship and focus on their culinary delights. The signature XLB was the star of the show. It was so good and so juicy that we had to reorder it. We tried the Wagyu XLB. It was juicy and tasty but it couldn't compare with their signature XLB. We had started with the wakame seaweed salad which was a tad too sweet for our liking and the cucumber salad, which was refreshing but felt it needed to be marinated in the dressing a bit longer. I'd pass on these two starters the next time. Besides the two XLB dishes, we tried the pork chop fried rice. Oh man! Were we pleasantly surprised! We thought the pork chop would be bland and dry but it was super delicious, spiced right and the fried rice was really good. Our next dish was the beef and scallion dumpling which was juicy like their sister XLB - though it's a little milder. My only complaint is that they need to serve more julienne ginger. We ordered three dumpling dishes and they only gave us one saucer of with three hair strands of ginger. We had to ask for more ginger each time a new dumpling dish came out and each time the little plate had three strands of ginger. Lastly, we were served a combination dessert XLB on the house. I believe it's due to the soft opening of the restaurant but the server told us that it was because they were slow in serving us our food - which wasn't really the case. I noted that all the tables next to us were given the same free basket of dessert dumplings. Anyways, with high expectations of the signature XLB in mind - I tried the sweet treat. The dessert XLB weren't my cup of tea. I have to say the concept of sweet mochi or chocolate in dumplings just didn't bode well with me, but hey I gave it a shot! Overall - the ambiance is great. XLB and fried rice were a delight. I'd skip the two starters and dessert that we tried. I saw many people online compare this restaurant to DTF but honestly as someone who hasn't been to DTF - I can only say this restaurant is solid and if you want to impress your friends or guests - bring them here. The prices are reasonable. For the two of us, the bill came to almost $90. We also had ordered two sodas. Service wise - I still think they can improve on it as they set the bar so high on the visuals and food. I'd come back again for the signature XLB and I'm looking forward to trying their other dishes! read more

Both my boys are XLB lovers so i was super excited to try out one so close to home with rave reviews! We came around 1:30pm and the yelp wait list was closed. We decided to check it out in person and the sign said 45 minute wait. I still put my name on the wait list even though I knew we would not wait 45 minutes. Right when i was signing my name, the waitress changed it to 25 minutes - yay!!! We walked around the plaza and got an email about 15 minutes later that are table was ready. We were promptly seated upon arrival in SWELTERING conditions. We were told after being seated that their AC was broken and they were working on getting it fixed. I feel like this should have been disclosed at the waitlist? before seating? any time prior?? it was SO HOT and we had two little kids with us. even the waitresses were beading sweat on their faces. The XLB skins were very thin and there was a lot of juice in them. The wagyu fried rice and shanghai rice cakes were also decent. The string beans were unfortunately too salty. I did enjoy the dessert sampler, except the ones with half strawberries in them, the strawberries should definitely be cut smaller. Overall, it could have been an OK experience but the lack of AC was really horrible. I felt like I was sitting outside in Hong Kong in the peak of summer. This place just opened up and me & my bf justhad to go try it since we live nearby. They renovated this place really nice and pretty! I also like the dishware and utensils they use as well. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the interior look and quality of the place. It's basically like a DTF as their menu is a bit similar and you order on a paper sheet as well and mark the items you want. We ordered a variety of things - beef noodle soup, beef scallion pancake, truffle shredded chicken, a5 wagyu fried rice.. and of course, can't not try the dumplings! Got the black truffle XLB and pork shrimp shumai. All the food was really amazing!! Especially the truffle XLB - very flavorful and had a good amount of truffle flavor. Service was also very good. Our servers kept checking up on us to make sure we were ok and had out water refilled. If you're craving DTF, Yum Long is an amazing alternative since there's no long wait and food is great! Wow, this place is SO good! We were really impressed. We tried the Dan Dan noodles, wagyu beef xlb, beef and chive pan fried dumpling, orange chicken, and sweet and sour pork rib+banana chocolate xlb for dessert. Everything was outstanding. I really love the texture of all of the dumplings, so soft and pillowy. The beef xlb was hearty and delicious. The orange chicken was very sweet(how I like it lol) and had a nice crisp. The ribs were sweet and sticky, yummy. The Dan Dan noodles had a really nice texture like the noodles seemed fresh. And my favorites were the pan fried dumplings and chocolate banana xlb. The pan fried dumplings were perfectly crispy on one side and perfectly soft and pillowy on the other, and had delicious flavor. The chocolate was more like nutella(LOVE) but melt-in-your-mouth delicious. And everything we ordered only came out to $87 for so much food! Really reasonable compared to dtf. They also have an extensive menu so really can't wait to come back and try more items from their menu because everything on the tables around us looked so good!! read more

First time dining here, and it definitely won't be the last! I came in craving xiao long bao, and this place completely delivered. Their Signature Xiao Long Bao was absolutely delicious so good that we ended up ordering 3 sets! Each dumpling was packed with flavorful broth and perfectly seasoned filling. Another standout was the Dry Pot Cabbage (unfortunately I forgot to take a photo). It was incredible! the balance of chili, aromatics, and savory soy flavor was spot on. It added just the right amount of spice without overpowering the dish and paired perfectly with the dumplings. We also enjoyed the fried rice, cucumber salad, and crispy wontons, which rounded out the meal beautifully. Everything tasted fresh, well-prepared, and satisfying. My family and I are constantly on the search for the best beef noodle soup, best xiao long bao, best of each dish. I ordered the pork Xiao long bao, beef noodle soup, Dan Dan noodles, beef and chives pan fried dumplings, dry pot cauliflower, cucumber salad, chives pancake, and chocolate banana Xiao long bao. Overall I do think the beef noodle soup, dry pot cauliflower, and Dan Dan noodles, were a tad bit sweeter. The XLB id say is more focused on a cleaner taste palette which is quite unique but a bit different from what some people may be used to. The skin is a bit thicker but is still chewy and not tough. The noodles are quite QQ (chewy) which is great. My favorites were the Dan Dan noodles and the chocolate banana XLB. Some places make the same dessert xiaolongbao but I have to say theirs are pretty decent. The chocolate is more like Nutella and it tastes smooth. Ambience wise is great, it's in a great location and the setup is actually stunning. I'd come back just for the setting. My only reason for taking away a star is that the flavors for some of the food is just a tad sweeter. But past that, I'd be coming back. Can't wait to try more things next time. read more

We had a great experience at Yum Long with exceptional service by Emma. With so much competition SGV, many restaurants offer the same menu items. We were torn between a few items and Emma help narrow down the options. She stood by the dan dan mein as her fav. In fact, when we asked her about another , she said we can always come back for the other dish that is also good. But she stood by the dan dan as her fav. It was very delicious. Signature Pork Xiao Long Bao also very good. Finished with a recommended chocolate banana dumpling which I wanted to not like. But was pleasantly surprised how well it works. Tried yum long for the first time on a whim with my best friend and it was so good! We weren't too hungry so we got the Dandan and mapo tofu and we were stuffed! Plus had leftovers too! The Dandan is delicious and I love the noodle texture because it has a chewiness to it. The mapo tofu was SO GOOD! The tofu was in large chunks which I liked and the sauce was savory and numbing. I'm glad they are part of the yelp wait-list, so you can join before you leave the house. First time here but we ordered most of the starred items: - Green beans (5/5): a little on the saltier side but otherwise delicious and cooked to a good doneness - Xiao long bao (5/5): very thin skin, steamed perfectly and juicy. We tried both the signature pork and the pork with shrimp, which had pieces of shrimp in the filling. My favorite is still the pork by itself. Only 6 pieces per order instead of the usual 8 at other places. - Dan Dan noodles (2/5): this was too salty for some of our party and too sweet for me. The noodles were also too mushy. Wouldn't get it again. - Beef roll wraps (5/5): one of the best I've had. Sufficient sauce, thin sliced beef and lots of it, lots of sliced cucumbers, thin wrap. - Chili oil wontons (2/5): I wouldn't get it again. Kind of heavy and sweet/saucy, with the addition of sesame paste in addition to chili oil. Flavor of wontons is completely lost in the sauce. read more

This place always has a long wait, and I finally got the chance to try it today. It definitely lived up to the hype! The Xiao Long Bao was absolutely delicious and is now my new favorite. The wrappers were thin, the soup was rich and flavorful, and the filling was perfectly seasoned. The salted egg yolk shrimp is also a must-try. The creamy salted egg coating was packed with flavor and paired perfectly with the crispy shrimp. The service made the experience even better. Our waitress, Chocolate, was amazing--friendly, attentive, and always checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Her warm and welcoming attitude really stood out and made us feel well taken care of. I can definitely see why this place is always so busy. Great food, excellent service, and well worth the wait. Service was friendly. Food-wise, this is yet another self-proclaimed DTF dupe, though it's definitely short of DTF's quality. I mean, it's not bad, and you won't deal with anywhere close to the wait you would have at DTF, so if you're looking for 'good enough,' then this is probably fine, and on par with Bao Master, Prince Dumpling, etc. However, it's not as good as places like Good Alley. On my quest to find the place that has the best Pan Fried Juicy Pork Bao Bun...I stumbled onto this NEW place with some friends & must say it has very delicious & flavorful food! And let's just say move over, Din Tai Fung, I liked that I didn't have to wait long for a table. The Pork Chop Fried Rice really stood out because it's like a slice of cut up pieces of 5-spice flavored popcorn chicken, so flavorful. The Dan Dan Noodles were really good, the juicy pork dumplings & the pan fried pork bao buns were all yummy too! Didn't get a chance to try their dessert flavored dumplings (I think I saw Matcha, Red Bean & Chocolate flavors), but will have to try them next time. The server (Dominique) who helped us was very patient, knowledgeable & her suggestions on what was super spicy & what was not were very helpful. We came to the cafe Saturday morning around 11:30 and managed to beat the lunch rush. They had tables available when we arrived, so my party of 4 was seated in a couple minutes once they prepared the table. It was quite spacious inside with plenty of space between each table, which made it easier for us with a bulky stroller. The decor was really fun to look at as well, as they have a lot of Hong Kong themed decoration. My friend got the Hong Kong milk tea to drink but it was pretty bad. He said the tea flavor was way too strong. I tried a sip and agree it wasn't very good. As expected of a Hong Kong cafe, the menu was large and had a huge selection of dishes. It took us a while to look through everything and figure out what we wanted. We ended up sharing the following dishes: #95 signature fish fillet ($19.95) - didn't know what to expect as there was no description of the dish on the menu. It was fried and coated in a sweet salty sauce. It was good but tasted pretty standard #120 Hainan chicken rice ($18.95) - probably my least favorite dish of the meal. It was served completely chilled, and the rice didn't have the fragrant chicken flavor I was expecting #151 seafood chow fun ($15.95) - this was my favorite dish! we got it with gravy for a change (we usually always get this dry) and it really came smothered in sauce. Had such an amazing experience at this xiao long bao spot! We came in with a large party of 14 people, and they accommodated us so quickly and smoothly without making us feel rushed or overwhelmed. That alone impressed us, but the service and food made the experience even better. The food came out incredibly fast, and everything was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. The xiao long bao were packed with flavor, perfectly juicy, and definitely some of the best we've had. Every dish we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared, from the noodles to the fried rice and appetizers. What really stood out was the staff -- every server we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and constantly smiling. They checked on us often, made sure drinks and dishes were taken care of, and handled our big group with such patience and professionalism. Yum Long was an absolute standout. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and packed with flavor. The Dan Dan noodles were the star of the meal--silky noodles coated in a rich, nutty, perfectly balanced sauce with just the right amount of heat and depth. We ordered the green beans (so good we accidentally ordered them twice ), pork chop fried rice, pan fried dumplings and scallion noodles and every single dish was unreal. I don't say this lightly... but I actually preferred it to Din Tai Fung. The flavors felt more homemade, more generous, and somehow elevated without trying too hard. One issue that especially stands out is the 90-minute dining limit. We completely understand and respect that policy. The problem isn't the time limit itself--it's how it's communicated. The food can sometimes take a while to come out, and we're never given any indication of how much time we have left. Instead of a server stopping by to say something like, "Just a heads up, you have about 20 minutes left if you'd like to place any final orders," we've had the payment terminal brought to our table while we were still eating, with no explanation except "Your 90 min are up" . It feels abrupt and honestly disrespectful. A simple reminder ahead of time would make the experience feel much more hospitable while still enforcing the restaurant's policy. I hope management sees this as constructive feedback because I genuinely want this restaurant to succeed. The food is some of the best around, and that's why I continue recommending it.
