Love this cozy spot for quick lunches or dinner. Sushi is very good as well as their other entrees. Nice patio dining as well. Servers are excellent and management especially Jamie the AGM are very helpful and friendly and efficient. Cocktails are great and generous! Not sure how this restaurant has good reviews. I would rate it a D-. Everything seemed frozen and very low quality. $200 dinner for 3 people and it was not worth it. The seafood salad is terrible, the nigiri is all the exact same size and fluorescent colored- screams frozen and mass produced. The soup comes in extremely shallow bowls- not sure what they are thinking. Would not recommend! Save your money. One of the best worst meals I've had in a long time. read more

Unbelievably disappointing!!! Planned a group to celebrate two birthdays. The last minute Zest changed to rules and wanted a $2,000 deposit??? Our group would have spent more than that. So we switch to Village Tavern in Alpharetta, they were more than willing to accommodate our group. Zest obviously does not want business! read more

Cute little downtown roswell lunch spot. Stopped here for a quick bite and cocktails. Service was great! We arrived as shifts were changing around 4:30/5 but waited less than 5 minutes to be seated. They have a wide amount of cocktails, sushi rolls, oysters, and I saw fries/lamb entrees so seems like a good mix of all kinds of food. We ordered the Carmel martini, lemon drop, ocean roll and oyster flight. They bring soy sauce in a plastic container which I thought was nice in this covid environment. Everything was delicious. Zest is a reliable staple in terms of downtown Canton Street restaurants. The dishes and the service are consistent, and they have a fair amount of outdoor seating to suit a COVID environment. We dined outdoors at Zest recently and were pleasantly surprised to find the Bento Boxes on the lunch menu--talk about a great deal! For $13, we got a miso soup, tempura veggies, a salad, rice, and teriyaki salmon. While none of it was knock-you-out-of-the-park good, it hit the money in terms of bang for your buck and filling us up on a crisp winter day. We look forward to more bento boxes in the future! read more

Walked in last night (Sat) at 6:15 expecting no problems getting a table for 2. We got one of the l last tables for 2. It was already crowded which tells you how good a reputation zest has earned. We've been multiple times. Food is always good and service is as well. The grilled oysters are awesome and the sushi rolls never disappoint. And the menu is extremely varied. Had the new fixed 3 course menu and it was great. Udon soup filled with pork and noodles. Korean beef sliders and double chocolate crème brûlée. My wife had ahi tuna roll and garlic spicy edamame. And our waitress was Alexis. She rocked! Great personality, well versed on menu and drinks as she also works the bar. Another great night at Zest. read more

You can find Zest Tapas Sushi and Tapas Restaurant at 957 Canton St, Roswell, GA 30075, your basic main-drag in downtown Roswell. Parking can be found in pay lot across the street or along some of the side streets - during prime time (weekends and Friday evening) you may need to walk a bit as this area gets packed, for good reason as there are lots of good restaurants congregated along this short strip (about three blocks or so). I've been wanting to try Zest for some time, having spotted it during a pub crawl I did in Roswell a few months earlier. This mid-week night seemed like a good time to check things out. We parked int he pay lot across the street in front of Canton Street Antiques Market. Zest is the low building with an awning across the street - it's actually two sister restaurants, Zest Tapas and Sushi on the right and Pearl Seafood on the left - once you enter you can sit on either side and enjoy both menus - as the Zest side was packed to overflow, we found a high table in Pearl. The interior has brick and contemporary finishes and concrete floors with wood table tops and an open kitchen. The bar extends along the demising wall between the two concepts. You're given both menus if you ask for them - the Pearl menu features seafood combinations with a lunch menu (with bento boxes and sushi) on the back; while the Zest menu features tapas and sushi on the front with wines and drink selections on the back. I liked that there were many "stacked" options for oysters and shellfish available on the Pearl menu - at some point I'll return and gorge myself of those but for tonight we were looking for things to share - also my friends Sangam and Apoova weren't too familiar with the shelfish options for the most part although we made some exceptions (Apoorva is mostly vegetarian). For drink, I went with the Terrapin Hopsecutioner IPA - one of my favorite locals, on draft. I find IPAs work well with just about anything and in particular a wide variety of food types, which we were planing to order. In total we ordered the following: Seared Diver Scallops - This was a small plat of large seared scallops spiked to a small pile of cheese grits. Delicious Asian Chopped Salad - napa cabbage, cucumber, edamame, carrot, scallions, cilantro vinaigrette, wonton strips - sort of your basic slaw-style salad Lamb Lollipops - three grilled lamb chops stood up on a small pile of mashed potato - delicious! Fried Calamari - a basic slightly salty/spicy fried calamari dish served with thai chili sauce Hush Puppies - Good roasted jalapeno and corn hush puppies but nothing to write home about - still very filling and served with a remoulade PEI Mussels - The classic from Prince Edward Island cooked in white wine, garlic, shallots, herbs, cream, and served with a rustic bread Rainbow Roll - California roll topped with tuna, salmon, red snapper, yellowtail, avocado Dynomite Roll - tuna, yellowtail, red snapper, asparagus, topped w/ masago & crunchy flakes Other Roll - don't remember the name but it was quite good. Overall all the food we tried was above average. The sushi was also above average - better than what you would find in most of the larger buffets but not quite the quality of the air-dropped fish at Nakato - still very good. The service was a bit hit-or-miss, mainly due to how busy the restaurant was when we arrived and how quickly it filled up. We shared a tall bench-style table with another group who were more interested in drinking (they were going to a show nearby). Still a good overall experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to friends. We ended up at Roswell Provisions for coffee and dessert. (also posted to my food blog) read more

Came here around 3pm for late lunch with a friend because their menu looked very diverse. The food was incredible! For drinks I had the SB spritzer and the Peach Blood Orange Mule (not served in the usual mule mug) and my friend had a Stella and the Gin & Sin, all the drinks were good and the cocktails were well balanced. We shared the crab wontons, short rib flatbread, dragon roll, crab fritters, and chicken lettuce wraps. Everything was delicious but the lettuce wraps were by far our favorite, definitely try them!! I deducted one star because the service was just OK, the bartender never told us his name and only asked once how everything was despite us ordering multiple rounds of food and drinks. There were only a few other patrons at the bar so we felt slightly ignored. But, the food was amazing and we will be back! read more

Service and atmosphere were wonderful. Sushi was great, we just had trouble keeping the it from falling apart. Definitely recommend the chargrilled oysters- a MUST! 4 stars because I wasn't a fan of the ginger dressing and my son said he liked the ramen, but has another restaurant he prefers. Would definitely eat here again, just order a lot more oysters! I would still get the sushi because you can tell it is high quality! read more

I have lived in Roswell for 10 years, and I sincerely cannot say that I have found a place where one dish has made such an impression. The mussels are absolutely delicious. They come with the most amazing sauce that I have ever tasted! And I have traveled around a lot. The mussels are the best, and I can't wait for our next visit to order them again! We live in Roswell and frequent Zest a couple times a month. The service is typically fine and we've never had any issues. Very consistent. BUT. Last night the place was packed at 6pm. We put our name on the list and tried to figure out how to maneuver our way to get a cocktail. The back room bartender Alexis saw us and took over. Went and found us chairs to sit at the end of the bar and took amazing care of us. We ended up sitting there and eating. She was just amazing and took care of everyone in the same excellent way. Truly made our night. Thank you Alexis! I have to add that the food was excellent as always. Tie both of those together and it's what keeps us coming back. read more

I've passed by this restaurant so many times wanting to go and finally tried it recently. I was NOT impressed. In fact, I was quite disappointed. This restaurant is known for tapas and sushi but there was no quality that went along with it. I started with the Spinach and Artichoke Dip which tasted like chunky queso. It barely had any spinach in it. I also had the Supporo Roll which seemed too chewy for me. On the menu, the salmon on top is supposed to be baked but it was barely flash fried. The main reason this restaurant gets 2 stars is for the décor and service. The waitress was very nice and honest about the menu. I probably won't be back though. I don't recommend it. read more
