I'm biased as we have no Zippy's at home but adore this business! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's two sides of service as you walk in. Fast food style service at the counter and similar seating to the left side. And a host station seating diners in more comfortable booths and tables to the other side[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I think some items are just slightly more expensive in the full service side? Think the Dennys of Hawaii which my great server agreed to when I told her how excited I was to be there. They have great breakfast all day I think, fried chicken, signature chili(like Nalley's canned only more "Zippy" with seasoning) , and plate lunch style offerings. Some people like their baked goods like malasadas and some cream puff types of things. This isn't the best version ever of these foods but a very reliable quality and portion size at very good prices for Hawai'i. Often more locals than us Haole tourists. We ordered the special Korean fried boneless chicken and rice with a scoop of corn and chili with beans for 13.99$ and I got a large Saimin with char su pork fish cake and choy sum. The noodles was very generous and great broth. A little sparse in the pork but a lot of goodies for sure! My wife kept dipping into my broth..... Her combo was good and she could only eat half. Snack for later!! Again not the best ever if these dishes but great friendly service and big portions at a fair price. If they brought one to Seattle I would be there a lot during work days for breakfast or lunch!! I insisted on getting my last meal and last anything again later that week on a Sunday night going to the airport(nearby) and it was backed up with locals waiting to order takeout on one side and sit down in the dining room!

Wanted to see Jason Momoa's favorite place in Hawaii, so I decided to give Zippy's a try before heading to the airport. I ordered a Chicken Trio: 1 Chicken, Katsu, and Korean Chicken ($20). It was okay. The chicken itself is good, flaky, juicy, and tender. The katsu is good for a grab-and-go style fast food option, but the Korean Chicken was alright. The portion itself is pretty generous, but this place is on the pricier side for takeout. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Zippy's itself is quite large. There is a lot of seating and a big parking lot, which was nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside was pretty clean, but nothing special.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered online, and it was ready quickly. I also got the lilikoi drink, which was really good. If you guys know what Jollibee is, I think that tops this place pretty easily.

When entertaining out of town family, this is a must go to place for good local service and food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]With friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere, it's a great place for a relaxed dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our one problem tonight was one of the orders we placed was wrong. A couple of yummy pancakes is not the same as a Belgian waffle, no matter how good. The affected family member chose to just go with it as the server, Rose, was a really nice lady. We also got the loco moco, the Korean chicken plate, the mini fried noodles, and a vegetable omelet. The portions are generous and all were delicious.

We searched up Zippys on our vacation and it was filled with locals so we knew we were in for a treat. Breakfast was the time of the day but, I found out you could order lunch as well so I was excited to try a little of everything. The portions are huge! So I hope you're hungry. We had spam n eggs, moco loco, Korean fried chicken and more. We wanted the full experience since it's not everyday you visit paradise. The service was good, we were well taken care of with refills and friendly smiles. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience was relaxing and enjoyable and filled with happy local residents.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were probably the only tourists that day. I would highly recommend driving a little out of the way to grab some delicious food and bring an appetite because it's a lot.

Finally! Zippy's Kahului food tastes like Zippy's Food! Since they opened the food wasn't good at all. But today it was spot on! Love it. Burrito chili plate and fried chicken Mahalo to the amazing server Amie / Amy. Such great customer service!

Best description is, Zippy is The Hawaiian version of Dennys/IHOP. Staff are friendly. Food is tasty. Stopped by here on a Sunday before heading to the airport. @ 9:40 am this was pretty much the only place opened nearby besides McDonalds. I ordered their Kokua Pac, which was special priced at $11.75 for the month of May. Can easily be made into two keiki meals. Also ordered the 3 piece friend chicken with fries and corn. Lots of fries and corn, option was also to get it with mac salad instead. Definitely need to be a big eater to finish the entire plate.

May 30,2026 - Saturday Next Stop, ZIPPYS! Upon your arrival you must scan the QR code to join the waitlist. The Host (Auntie Lisa) will call your name and then seat you at the available table. We decided to eat out tonight and here is what we ordered. -Zip Pac Deluxe (Substitute the spam for extra Hoki) Chili on the side -Oxtail Soup Total came out to $68.99 for these two orders. Service was quick, like we just ordered and everything came to us within or about 10 mins. Our server was definitely on it & was really nice, did check on us 3x. Second time here. Got seated right away, must've been good timing! Wife got the zip pac deluxe (sub spam for hoki): 9/10 I got oxtail soup: 9/10 Service: 10/10 -Food came out quick (10 minutes) -lady checked up on us often (but not overly checked up on us which I like) Food: 8/10 -oxtail had about 4 big pieces, broth was slightly not seasoned but after a good mix overall it was good -wife said her food was good because it was at a good temp and it came out fast. Taste was also good. Or as what she said "exactly how it should".

Zippy's has become our new tradition when visiting. This location has been our best experience so far. The parking lot was full of cars (good sign). We tried twice to come here. The first night they only had one cook, so we didn't wait for a table. We came the next night and were apprehensive, but the food surprisingly came out fast. It wasn't amazing, but I would compare it to a Hawaiian Denny's. They never had malasadas when we were there. You can also order at the to-go counter if you don't want to dine in.

Finally got to try the famous Zippy's aka the Denny's of Hawai'i & honestly? I get it. I had the Korean fried chicken breakfast... Chicken was perfectly crispy, came with eggs, rice, & spam! Made me super full is all I can say! My friends all got different things (classic breakfast plates, chili spaghetti, etc.), & everyone left satisfied. I know it's a chain, but you HAVE to visit Zippy's if you're in Maui. Their Loco Moco was the best that we've tried on the island (and we tried a lot). Loco Moco is a sort of "comfort food" that is a hamburger patty on top of a bed of white rice, topped with a fried egg and brown gravy. It's like a hug in a plate/bowl, so you have to get this if you're anywhere in Hawaii, at least once! We even loved it so much that we used TWO of our meals in Maui visiting Zippy's and having Loco Moco. The interior design of Zippy's is very classic, like a grandma's house almost, with beige walls, and cute Hawaiian themed paintings all over. I'm sure they have lots of other items aside from Loco Moco, but that was the one and only thing we got there, so I definitely recommend it!

Korean Fried Chicken - 4/5 - Who doesn't like fried chicken especially when there is a different taste to it. Chantilly Cake - 4/5 - Such a yummy and moist cake. Standard but good. We had the siamin, oxtail, Korean chicken, and chili & rice. Everything was not special, but good and hearty. What you'd expect. I only had Zippy's a few times years ago but I liked it. I'd give it 3+. Solid. read more

Convenient spot near the airport for some comfort Hawaiian food! The AC was a welcome relief, but service at the counter and getting the food was a bit slow. However, the wait was worth it for the delicious, hearty meals served. Perfect for a quick bite after a long flight. Highly recommend putting an online order before getting to Zippy's especially if it's lunch time read more

With this being our only Zippy's on Maui, it's one of the most popular spots to eat at. I used to eat late at night with friends after finishing work, but hours have changed ever since the Pandemic hit (as it had with many other businesses) , and is no longer 24 hours. Great for a quick bite with a wide selection of local favorites. Def a fam favorite after we land. A little different protocol than I'm used to due to COVID. They have the hostess out in front and ask if you have any reservations. We didn't so we had to wait about 15 min to get a table inside and it was only two of us. They check your temp when you walk in which is cool. Food is good and affordable. Def a must if you're looking for quick and cheap food. They have everything! read more

Nope. Basic greasy spoon and about two hundred degrees inside! I'm not sure what the appeal is. It took twenty minutes to get to the counter, and then we sat in the hottest, sweatiest, stickiest booth ever. The burger and fries were okay but not worth that. People were friendly, of course. read more

This was amazing, lol. We got turned around a bit on our first visit and went to the takeout counter/line instead of the dine-in line. We had to wait about 10 minutes before being seated, and service was a little slow, even though they were at half capacity for COVID precautions. I think we each got a zip meal deluxe, and I had to get a spam musubi, which was delicious (but also hard to mess up). I was personally not a huge fan of that chili, but I will say, they give you a TON of food. The BBq, the chicken, the mac salad, all good. No complaints whatsoever. I left stuffed :) Wanted to get some of the baked goods up at the front, but I had zero room. This is a must-stop when on Maui, especially if you're from the mainland and all you're used to is L&L Hawaiian BBQ. read more

The OG vibe, is what makes it worth wait. I flew from Las Vegas, where the newest Zippy's off island (or the 9th island) is. I promised to wait and here I am. Ordered an extravaganza of fried chicken combo plates, and of course the famous oxtail soup--and I tell you, I devoured that every sip. I felt it course through my veins, and it was as divine as the Aloha spirit. Highly recommended, without a doubt. Food - 3.5 stars Service - 4 stars Ambiance - 3 stars Food The food is okay to good depending on what you order and the time of day. We had a plate lunch, fried chicken, and ox-tail soup. The ox-tail soup was great as was the fried chicken. The plate lunch was okay and standard. (eg no better or worse than other plate lunch places). Service - Fast, efficient, and done with a smile. Thought we would go in and see what Zippy's was all about since my cousin says it's her favorite place to eat. So many options which is great when our daughters are visiting. The service was quick and the restaurant was clean plus the food was good. We are now zippy members and are earning points for free items. Definitely recommend! read more

The biggest let down with this place is that maui only has one location! I was told about zippy's a long time ago from an old coworker that lived in Hawaii and every time I visit the island I make my way to zippy's. My gf's son got the zip pack and said the fish and the meat weren't up to par but the rest was good. Gf got the crispy chicken dish which was ok in her eyes but the chili and rice is the big draw and didn't let me down. I let everybody try it and they agreed that it's top tier especially for the price. The location is pretty big with the building split in 2 sides, the left is for sit down dining and the right is for to go orders. It takes quite a bit of time to get your food with the wait and everybody with good taste on the island is gonna come through here at some point. So it gets busy but it's worth the wait. Again I can't vouch for the whole menu but I think you'll find yourself becoming a fan of this business read more

Portions were generous and tasty. Service was friendly and attentive, would check on us often. Comfort food and cozy warm atmosphere diner-vibe. We especially liked the shoyu pork it was super tender. Some prices might seem surprising but I think it's pretty standard nowadays, and we found portions to be generous and well worth. Food is nothing crazy, but a go-to to get satisfaction of exactly what you're craving and would definitely go again. read more

A great place that has available hours. However, I would not recommend dine-in. This is a better takeout place than a place to eat. I started my day here to prepare for road to hana. Environment feels very tiring and it wasn't a good start to the trip. I ordered the Zip Pac with mashed potatoes. I recommend this because it has a diverse mix of protein. It's high in calories, but you'll burn it off during your road to hana if you are doing some hikes! read more

We came in hoping to find some spaghetti that was comparable to homemade spaghetti. The meat sauce used smelled like chili but was very good the garlic bread was clearly frozen before hand, but very good as well. The chicken was a little smaller than i remember, but a solid 5/5 for me. The sides were just as good. We tried the cream puff, which was not very good and had the texture of a couch. 1/5 for that. I don't think the AC was working and unfortunately like most places it was very understaffed. We had a very short wait and were then seated. Oddly though only give 3 menus for a party of 5. Service was prompt. My kiddo enjoyed the pancakes! Only other thing to mention is that when you order scrambled eggs they will come out as overcooked omletes... without being an omlete. I'm so freakin sad and mad at this place. Words cannot express how disappointed I am. First time here, heard great things. We went here on the way to the airport in my last attempt to try it. I picked up a Korean Fried Chicken plate (what I was looking forward to the most!!) and Zip Pac to go. Picked it up in one of the designated food lockers, receipt was correct. When I opened to eat my Korean fried chicken, it was some dish that I don't even see on the menu??? Some bland ass cooked chicken in a mushroom sauce?? It's too late to go back since we were already sitting at our gate. They got the Zip Pac correct and that was okay at least. But I could have cried. read more

The menu is huge but this is not a good restaurant for someone who doesn't eat meat. There are only 4 meals you can order, veggie burger, salmon, grilled cheese, or a side salad. I ordered the mini salmon. It was a small piece of previously frozen salmon that looked pretty unappetizing when it arrived. It was well done with no sauce or garnish and there was a brownish gray layer of fat up the middle. It did come with a cup of tarter sauce that tasted a lot like mayo with sugar added. The salmon normally comes with two sides, but I asked for just one (which was frozen corn) and got a separate order of onion rings. An 80 cent kitchen charge was added for that, which was pretty disappointing. I guess they'd rather I order the other side and just not eat it. One other thing is the AC was turned up way too high. We were almost shivering while we ate. We are local and we go out fairly often. It had been a while since we'd been to Zippy's. This meal reminded me why we don't go there. read more

I love Zippy's, but this location is simply not clean. It's split into two sections - to-go, and dine in. Dine-in was only serving a handful of tables on a holiday Monday morning, so we ordered to-go. Even while waiting, the to-go seating section had a foul smell, and the bathrooms felt dirty. I got my order -- oxtail soup, and found a worm in it. The horrified server refunded us but the manager didn't seem phased. PLEASE I beg you Zippy's, I love you, but there are health codes and standards to adhere to. PLEASE. read more

It was ok. Food was 7.5/10 but the service was decent. We didn't know the meals didn't come with drinks so we had to purchase one. But it was a quick meal after being in the airport so that was nice. read more

Love Zippy's! Korean fried chicken plate all day. I'll get the Korean fried chicken salad if I'm in the mood for "healthy". It's a must go every time I'm in Hawaii. I get it, roaches are common here, but this thing was a full grown one right out in the dining room. Like it's been alive for 3-4 months to get to this size. Who knows how many others there are in the kitchen. I've been coming to Maui for 20+ years and never have I seen a roach in a food establishment. 0/10 will not come back we stopped eating and left. read more

We also over heard her swearing F bombs in the kitchen. We understand she was stressed of how many tables she covered, it's no excuse to be un professional! Well hungry? Need to try something local and just got off the plane? This might be the place you've heard about since the chain has been around a long time. I always stick with my favorite "Katsu Chicken" white rice and Mac salad. It is really delicious and they do it right. Also the loco moco is fantastic as well. Service was good and they got out the food quickly so nothing to complain about but also nothing really to rave about. It's an average coffee shop type atmosphere with decent local food. I always go to Zippy's on my last vacation day in Maui. My favorite menu item to order is their mini fried chicken, and I also get an Orange Bang to pair with it. Yes, they still have Orange Bang... can you believe it?! On this particular visit, the fried chicken was extremely dry and overcooked. It's almost as if it were yesterday's chicken. In addition, the mac salad had too much mayo - it was inedible. The rice was about the only thing going for them, but how can you screw that up? In addition, the tables were dirty. I didn't see any staff members come around to clean them while I was there. The service was also pretty bad. The girls working at the cash register did not seem like they wanted to be there. I was disappointed to see that this Zippy's has gone downhill. I typically love Zippy's and hope they can make changes to improve this location. read more

I was on my way to the airport and wanted to have one last Hawaiian meal. Stopped by Zippy's and because they were limiting capacity, the wait was about an hour. It was raining and they didn't let everyone wait inside so most of the people were outside waiting in the rain. But majority didn't seem to mind. Service was friendly however slow. Took forever to get the food and ultimately the check. Food was as expected for this type of diner vibe. Overall it was OK. The long wait and slow service is why the -1 star. read more

Only zippys im told that exists in Maui while Oahu has a billion of em. Its ok I will consider this one of the super club zippys because its nice and clean and fairly large sized. They make Malasadas fresh!!! WARNING!!!!! chocolate filled ones contain heroin, haupia ones contain crack, custard ones contain LSD, and they are sprinkled with weed on top! That's why they are sooo addicting. As for eating non junk foods main course meals. Throw a dart at the menu because each item is good. It's food. Had good experience with take-out side. Food was fresher than my dining experience the other day. The pastry cabinet is what gives them the extra star. Went for breakfast my eggs had no taste, almost like they were fake. i got enough bacon to eat with the eggs some didn't complain. I always feel bad for the waitress when crappy food comes out so I try to just be polite. My friend had the steak and eggs by his second bite it looked like his eyes were tearing. They were! His steak was so dry he proceeded to drink his whole glass of water and then asked if he could finish mine as well since the waitress hadn't come back yet. Instead of complaining in fear or getting more of less than mediocre food we paid and left to eat somewhere else. read more

Upon arrival the customer can choose to eat in with wait staff service or order at the counter to eat at a table without wait staff or take the order to go. Online ordering is also possible and suggested in order to avoid a wait. The food is filling with fair sized portions (mini or regular) and the price point aligns with the quality of the food with most entrees around $10-20 per plate plate. There is a decent variety of entrees to choose from from loco moco to spaghetti and garlic bread. Aloha kakahiaka! I always enjoy my time spending with my family on Oahu and this time, I decided to spend my last day of my birthday vacation in Maui. You know the old saying: Maui no ka oi! Zippy's is always a good GO-TO to harness your hanger! This particular Zippy's is so clean, the service is outstanding, and food is ONO! I ordered the Korean chicken breakfast: over-easy eggs, brown rice, Portuguese sausage, and crispy Korean-fried chicken. Definitely did not disappoint. Come visit Maui, enjoy the isle of the valley, and all they have to offer. Lahaina May be off-limits for now, but the rest of Maui is sure worth the while. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER! Ray Cabanting was manager on duty and was the worst manager ever I've ever seen in my entire life! He treated us like trash. So we ended up leaving the restaurant because of his worst service. He didn't apologize or anything. Instead he yelled and yelled and yelled! You don't treat your customers like that. He should be working in a construction or something!! I love this place every time I come to Maui but what happened today I would never go back to this place ever again! read more

You will either love or hate this place...the first time I went to one on O'ahu I was underwhelmed, but it grew on me...laughs...it is like a Hawaiian Denny's coffee shop type place...they have their own bakery and make some yummy sweet things. They have a huge menu and something for everyone. They are open 24/7. They are good for a late dinner after Hana or early breakfast before a big outing. They are famous for their chili (and their grilled corn bread is pretty good, too.) read more

Love the convenience of zippys food, great staff and friendly, but I have a major concern, WHATS UP WITH THE FLIES!!!!!!!!!!!! I had 5-6 flies swarming around my food and drinks ugh!!!!!! They need to do something about it fast or Maui zippys won't be my place to go. Oahu's zippys don't have that problem!!!!!! Come on Maui Zippys get it together. Aiyah!!!! Zippy's has become a family tradition, every time we visit Maui, we make a trip to Zippy's. I've ordered something different every time, and have not been disappointed yet! Don't try to suggest some eatery other than Zippy's to my dad when we're on Maui, otherwise you're gonna catch some disapproving looks haha! 10/10, we'll be back Zippy's! read more

Service was horrible. This middle aged caucasian waitress was arguing with me about whether I asked for white rice or brown rice. Just stupid, man. Zippy's never learns. We had Zippys on Oahu, we flew in a little late so we picked up some food to go to our hotel in Kihei. Can't beat the chili and the fried fish. We also picked up an assortment of pastries for the next few mornings. Highly recommend their puff pastries. read more
