I'm biased as we have no Zippy's at home but adore this business! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's two sides of service as you walk in. Fast food style service at the counter and similar seating to the left side. And a host station seating diners in more comfortable booths and tables to the other side[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I think some items are just slightly more expensive in the full service side? Think the Dennys of Hawaii which my great server agreed to when I told her how excited I was to be there. They have great breakfast all day I think, fried chicken, signature chili(like Nalley's canned only more "Zippy" with seasoning) , and plate lunch style offerings. Some people like their baked goods like malasadas and some cream puff types of things. This isn't the best version ever of these foods but a very reliable quality and portion size at very good prices for Hawai'i. Often more locals than us Haole tourists. We ordered the special Korean fried boneless chicken and rice with a scoop of corn and chili with beans for 13.99$ and I got a large Saimin with char su pork fish cake and choy sum. The noodles was very generous and great broth. A little sparse in the pork but a lot of goodies for sure! My wife kept dipping into my broth..... Her combo was good and she could only eat half. Snack for later!! Again not the best ever if these dishes but great friendly service and big portions at a fair price. If they brought one to Seattle I would be there a lot during work days for breakfast or lunch!! I insisted on getting my last meal and last anything again later that week on a Sunday night going to the airport(nearby) and it was backed up with locals waiting to order takeout on one side and sit down in the dining room!
Wanted to see Jason Momoa's favorite place in Hawaii, so I decided to give Zippy's a try before heading to the airport. I ordered a Chicken Trio: 1 Chicken, Katsu, and Korean Chicken ($20). It was okay. The chicken itself is good, flaky, juicy, and tender. The katsu is good for a grab-and-go style fast food option, but the Korean Chicken was alright. The portion itself is pretty generous, but this place is on the pricier side for takeout. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Zippy's itself is quite large. There is a lot of seating and a big parking lot, which was nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside was pretty clean, but nothing special.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered online, and it was ready quickly. I also got the lilikoi drink, which was really good. If you guys know what Jollibee is, I think that tops this place pretty easily.
When entertaining out of town family, this is a must go to place for good local service and food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]With friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere, it's a great place for a relaxed dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our one problem tonight was one of the orders we placed was wrong. A couple of yummy pancakes is not the same as a Belgian waffle, no matter how good. The affected family member chose to just go with it as the server, Rose, was a really nice lady. We also got the loco moco, the Korean chicken plate, the mini fried noodles, and a vegetable omelet. The portions are generous and all were delicious.
We searched up Zippys on our vacation and it was filled with locals so we knew we were in for a treat. Breakfast was the time of the day but, I found out you could order lunch as well so I was excited to try a little of everything. The portions are huge! So I hope you're hungry. We had spam n eggs, moco loco, Korean fried chicken and more. We wanted the full experience since it's not everyday you visit paradise. The service was good, we were well taken care of with refills and friendly smiles. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience was relaxing and enjoyable and filled with happy local residents.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were probably the only tourists that day. I would highly recommend driving a little out of the way to grab some delicious food and bring an appetite because it's a lot.
Best description is, Zippy is The Hawaiian version of Dennys/IHOP. Staff are friendly. Food is tasty. Stopped by here on a Sunday before heading to the airport. @ 9:40 am this was pretty much the only place opened nearby besides McDonalds. I ordered their Kokua Pac, which was special priced at $11.75 for the month of May. Can easily be made into two keiki meals. Also ordered the 3 piece friend chicken with fries and corn. Lots of fries and corn, option was also to get it with mac salad instead. Definitely need to be a big eater to finish the entire plate.
May 30,2026 - Saturday Next Stop, ZIPPYS! Upon your arrival you must scan the QR code to join the waitlist. The Host (Auntie Lisa) will call your name and then seat you at the available table. We decided to eat out tonight and here is what we ordered. -Zip Pac Deluxe (Substitute the spam for extra Hoki) Chili on the side -Oxtail Soup Total came out to $68.99 for these two orders. Service was quick, like we just ordered and everything came to us within or about 10 mins. Our server was definitely on it & was really nice, did check on us 3x. Sorry I didn't catch our waitress name :(. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It looked like a lot of families were dining in so we did have to wait a little but wasn't that long.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
Second time here. Got seated right away, must've been good timing! Wife got the zip pac deluxe (sub spam for hoki): 9/10 I got oxtail soup: 9/10 Service: 10/10 -Food came out quick (10 minutes) -lady checked up on us often (but not overly checked up on us which I like) Food: 8/10 -oxtail had about 4 big pieces, broth was slightly not seasoned but after a good mix overall it was good -wife said her food was good because it was at a good temp and it came out fast. Taste was also good. Or as what she said "exactly how it should".
Zippy's has become our new tradition when visiting. This location has been our best experience so far. The parking lot was full of cars (good sign). [[HIGHLIGHT]]And I like that they had a full service dine in section and an order at the counter/seat yourself section.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We chose to order at the counter, same food but you don't have to tip. We ordered: Fried chicken plate: we come for their fried chicken! Crispy outside, juicy inside. Well flavored. Always consistently good. Korean fried chicken: I don't remember seeing this on the menu before. Chicken bites were fried and sauced with a sweet, garlic sauce. Good, would def order again. Trio plate: came w fried chicken, Korean chicken and katsu chicken. All were good. Katsu was pretty krispy. Decent portion. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place was clean with a lot of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
We tried twice to come here. The first night they only had one cook, so we didn't wait for a table. We came the next night and were apprehensive, but the food surprisingly came out fast. It wasn't amazing, but I would compare it to a Hawaiian Denny's. They never had malasadas when we were there. You can also order at the to-go counter if you don't want to dine in.
Finally got to try the famous Zippy's aka the Denny's of Hawai'i & honestly? I get it. I had the Korean fried chicken breakfast... Chicken was perfectly crispy, came with eggs, rice, & spam! Made me super full is all I can say! My friends all got different things (classic breakfast plates, chili spaghetti, etc.), & everyone left satisfied. The chili spaghetti is apparently what they're known for & my friend really enjoyed it! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's very much a family-style diner vibe, nothing fancy, just good food[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place is big.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cleanliness was okay.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything is at a very decent price, especially for the portions you get! If you're looking for a casual local spot, for sure check this place out.
I know it's a chain, but you HAVE to visit Zippy's if you're in Maui. Their Loco Moco was the best that we've tried on the island (and we tried a lot). Loco Moco is a sort of "comfort food" that is a hamburger patty on top of a bed of white rice, topped with a fried egg and brown gravy. It's like a hug in a plate/bowl, so you have to get this if you're anywhere in Hawaii, at least once! We even loved it so much that we used TWO of our meals in Maui visiting Zippy's and having Loco Moco. The interior design of Zippy's is very classic, like a grandma's house almost, with beige walls, and cute Hawaiian themed paintings all over. I'm sure they have lots of other items aside from Loco Moco, but that was the one and only thing we got there, so I definitely recommend it!

Had lunch yesterday favorite restaurant. When my bill came I was curious about what I seen on the bill Kitchen charge. 2 percent of the bill which not much. So I asked the waitress what was this kitchen charge for? She said she didn't know she will call her manager. Manager comes to the table and says hi I'm the manager. I said hello I'm just curious of what the kitchen charges is for. He replied it's for training of thier cooks and to avoid our menu prices to go up. So I then said you are having your customers pay for the training of your kitchen staff. He said yes it's only 2 percent of the bill very little. So I okay thank you. Now I started to configure how many customer walks through that door. That's a lot of money. Bad enough we pay taxes and give tip plus food price, now kitchen charges not good at all. read more

Oh boy. I guess you get what you get when it's fast food. I got the grilled cheese and the cheese wasn't even melted. The Mac salad actually had a good flavor but they somehow managed to ruin the kids Kraft Mac and cheese. I didn't think that was possible. And they were basically out of every drink we requested. read more
Our kids love Zippy's, and so do we! Our favorites are the Korean Fried Chicken and their chili. The KFC is crispy and glazed with a sweet and savory sauce, and I can't even explain the chili except that it's addicting. After watching the sunset at Haleakalā, we were starving with tired kids. I placed our orders and paid online so when I got there, I bypassed the long take out order line and went straight to pick up. They were super busy that night, but all the workers were so warm and friendly! read more

Love Zippy's. Didn't live this visit. Ho!! They keep that place chilly! So cold! And the food was not great this time. Korean Fried Chicken was more Fried than Chicken. Still tasted okay but overcooked and scraped up my mouth. My friends had a similar reaction to their food too. Not great. Sigh. read more

My friend and I arrived on Maui with a mission to find the best sugar malasadas. On the 1st day, we had a deliciously fresh baked one in wailuku that did not disappoint. On the 2nd day, we decided to go to zippy's napoleon bakery. On Oahu, their long John's are amazing so we were hopeful that their malasadas would be promising. We ordered 2 for $1.55 each and patiently waited about 15 minutes. We were so excited when we saw the bag with freshly made malasadas inside. They smelled and looked great, perfectly covered in sugar. Then we took a bite--- so dense, so tough, so not delicious. "Fluffy" and "melt in your mouth" are opposite of what they were. I didn't even finish mine. Maybe we got unlucky and went on a bad day or it was a bad batch of batter. Whichever it is, we will not be going back. read more
Go here before you leave for the airport. Grab the Korean fried chicken. Get the regular size not the mini. And then share with 1 other person It's so so so delicious. Best of all, it's $12!!! Chicken was super crunchy and was not dry at all. Yes you heard me, not dry. Nice and juicy and delicious. Yum yum yum. Two scoops of rice. One scoop of Mac salad. Just amazing. You should seriously get this on ur way out to the airport. Drool. Oh yah order it to go so that you can eat it at the airport while you wait. If you're hungry and want comfort food, this is the spot for you. We ordered online and had Zippy's delivered. This being my first time in Hawaii, I went with a local favorite - loco moco. This had white rice, a hamburger patty, brown gravy and a fried egg. I'm sure this provided a month's worth of sodium, but it was tasty and extremely filling. The side of macaroni salad was lacking flavor, but the rest of my meal made up for it. I didn't go to bed hungry! read more
Finally went to Zippy's! We've been living in Maui half of our time for two years and today we decided to have lunch here. It was not busy at all because it was 3:30 (a very late lunch). We decided to order the Chicken Mixed Plate with chili and mac salad with a side of corn bread. The food came out very fast. I think they just re-heated the fried chicken and chili. Everything tasted good except some parts of the chicken were dry and tough. We still enjoyed it. I think if we came closer to noon, I think the chicken would have been fresher. The corn bread was warm and delicious. Of course we stopped at the bakery section before leaving. So many good options to pick from. The only thing they didn't have that we wanted was the malasadas. read more

Next stop, Zippy's! Located in Kahului near Home Depot, Zippy's serves local comfort food at reasonable prices. For this visit, wordered the Korean fried chicken and the kalua pig and laulau plate. Both entrees were served with steamed rice and macaroni salad, but you can also substitute with brown rice or corn. The Korean fried chicken was crispy, sweet and tangy and was still hot when the plate was served. Zippy's uses thigh meat for this entree and was juicy with each bite. The kalua pig and laulau plate was also tasty. After peeling away the leaves, the laulau portion was smaller than expected but was still delicious. The kalua pig was also delicious and not too salty. We also ordered a dozen of the plain sugared malasadas. The price for the dozen malasadas is a bit high at $20 considering the smaller size but they were fresh and still warm when we received them at the end of the meal. If you are looking for a quick and hearty meal, Zippy's is the place to go! I highly recommend their Korean fried chicken! read more

My friends suggested this place because they had a wide variety of food. I had a hard time choosing but I decided to get the chicken and chili and I'm sooooo glad I did! The chicken was good. Gave what it needed to give but babbyyyyy THAT CHILI!!! That stuff slapped!!! It was sooo good!!! Like I don't know who back there making that chili but they did that fr. It was soo good and flavorful and with rice whew that SLAPPED! It's open 24 hours so that even more convenient!! read more

Looking for a quick bite while picking up someone from airport. Grabbed a beef teriyaki sandwich and a side of macaroni salad. The sandwich had some extras, grilled onions, tomato slice, pineapple, cheese, lettuce, and a ice tasty dose of teriyaki. The meat was pretty good quality for the small price. Kept hearing about this restaurant from some of the locals while in Maui, so I had to check it out for myself. This place has a very large menu and is known for their chili (of all things). I ordered the small chili w/ rice and Teri Beef plate. Both were amazing, but that chili, is off the chain. Super impressed. I'll probably stop by this place one more time before I head back to the mainland and get some more chili. Two thumbs and one toe up for this place. Happy eating my foodies! read more
How have we not tried Zippys before?!? Super fast sit down service and food delivery with very friendly staff. Hubby had the chili moco....new comfort food! What a great combo with rice at the bottom of a bug bowl, then great chili, then a neat patty, all covered by 2 fried eggs. So good!! I had a bowl of Saimin..perfectly prepared! GOTTA LOVE ZIPPY'S--Hawaii's own chain restaurant known for their comfort food, which if I may add, is extremely flavorful with generous portions. My boyfriend, sister and brother-in-law ate here after a long day of driving the Road to Hana and hiking trails/going to the beaches along the way. Zippy's was the perfect meal to end our day, so I'm thankful it's open 24/7. The table ordered chicken katsu, the zip pac, Korean fried chicken, spam masubi and oxtail soup. Not to mention, their sweet, sweet lilikoi drink. Everything hit the spot. Especially the Korean fried chicken. The oxtail soup was surprisingly the most expensive, close to $22, but it was a good amount and came with two scoops of rice. Zippy's has an area with full service, a seating area that's basically "fast food style" (order and seat yourself, and different desserts. I have nothing bad to say about Zippy's. Their food is delicious and Hawaii is amazing for this. read more
Teri beef sandwich terrible, due to the chewy tendons. Unless they can remove it would be great. Could not eat it. Had to spit that trash out. Made me dry heave.Super Yuk. Who doesn't love zippy's? Fast, affordable, and you can get everything here from malasadas, spam and Portuguese sausage, loco moco, korean fried chicken and many many more Hawaiian comfort foods! We came here before heading to the airport. Got some spam musubis and korean fried chicken to eat in the plane! While everyone else was having a sandwich.. we were enjoying our last hawaiian comfort food on the way back to San Diego We always try to stop by a zippy's every hawaii trip we do. Zippy's is a must stop whenever visiting the island. My favorite is the Korean Chicken breakfast, with Portuguese sausage, fried rice, sunny side eggs and a side of the chili with beans.End your meal with delicious Haupia cake! Either order at the counter to go or wait for a table. Proof of vaccination is required for dine in. read more

Of course, our first stop after leaving the airport is Zippy's. We had to show proof of vaccination to eat inside and they made us wait about 20-30 minutes (although the restaurant seemed mostly empty). We ordered a Zip Pac and a Surf Pac, the food came out hot and it was good. It seems a little pricy for what you get, but we were hungry after a long flight. I felt a bit bad for my husband, as it was his first time and he was a bit disappointed. It definitely wasn't as good as I remembered from many years ago. read more
Stopped here for takeout on the way to the airport. Heard it had a better version of spaghetti than Jollibee. I can't compare the two though since I've never had it but this place was good. Well, it's not the best ever but decent. The order didn't take long. I had the combination plate with spaghetti and chicken that also came with macaroni salad and toast. My s/o had the Korean fried chicken plate that came with macaroni salad and rice. The spaghetti had a slightly sweetened meat sauce, not too acidic. The Korean chicken was well seasoned. Our food wasn't as hot by the time we ate them but we still enjoyed them. So I'm sure it would've tasted better dining in. read more
Was excited to try out Zippy's for the first time and I was kind of disappointed. My visit was around late February of 2022. So tables were limited due to indoor restrictions I'm guessing because the guests inside were sitting at a fairly distanced booths. We waited around 30ish minutes to get seated and got handed menus. I would say it was slightly busy but not lunch/dinner rush kinda busy. Our server took our drink order came back with our drinks and didn't come back for a loooooong time. We were just sitting there waiting for her to come back to take our order but she was no where to be seen so I had to flag other server to find our server to take our order but she was nice enough to do so herself. The food came out fairly fast which was nice because we were super hungry by the time it come out. I got a chicken trio plate lunch which had the different styles on it (kfc, katsu and fried chicken). It came with a sauce, rice and Mac salad. Overall my dish was good but it wasn't anything amazing. read more

Big portions, good prices, ok comfort food. A great option after traveling all day. Food was good and satisfying. Highlights: - Korean Fried Chicken! Sweet and krispy - loco moco - even the "mini" was super filling. Gravy was super tasty. - haupia cake and vanilla Icecream - impressive moist cake with coconut shreds on top. Vanilla was super potent and complemented the cake nicely. Everything else was ok, but nothing to write home about. read more
Came here right after watching the sunrise. I was impressed with our meal, it is definitely a diner and not a fancy place but I enjoyed their Zac Pac, it comes with fried fish, fried chicken, spam and teriyaki beef, over rice. I think my least favorite was the fried chicken and my favorite was the fried fish. My friend got the ox tail soup, and it comes with two scoops of rice, I thought the broth was delicious with the vegetables tasted to it and the meat was soft. I really like that the malasadas was made to order, so when we got them it was fresh and warm. There was plenty of parking and I would definitely come back. If you are looking for less than $10 a plate, this is definitely not the place for you. read more
After a morning in courses, I was on my way to Paia to pay my respects to my grandparents and great grandparents. I drove past the Zippys leaving the airport heading to Wailea so was so happy to see that Zippys was finally on Maui. Stopped in for an early lunch and gave the host my name and cell phone number. They are following struct COVID guidelines so I had to wait a couple of minutes and received a text message that my table was ready. Was seated and I ordered a first Pepsi and the chicken trio. The trio was fried chicken, chicken katsu, and Korean fried chicken. Sides were rice and macaroni salad. The local food hit the spot and I got my fill for this trip of local plate lunch. My bro-in-law likes this place so we came to try since it's my first time in Maui, seems like a may be a local favorite saw many locals and no touristy people. The custard pie was very very good I would for sure go back for another slice! The ox tail must have been good since my brother-in-law slurped it up. The noodles were good. They were checking everyone's temp and really cleaning so that was nice. Sadly they did not have the Portuguese donuts.. maybe next time read more

I was actually surprised this was my first visit. I definitely liked how cool the restaurant was on the inside. So bring a sweater if you get cold. The food wasn't bad either. Plus there's a large variety to choose from. read more
