Valentine's Day special cupcakes-all insanely amazing!
Katie G.

I am shocked I've somehow forgotten to leave a review. Zucchini Kill is my favorite vegan bakery in Austin and somehow it's GF too?!? I've never had something I didn't love. The cupcakes are probably my favorite and such unique flavors! You absolutely need to visit!!

This is the sequel we've all been waiting for. I'm SO thrilled to have a second outpost for these amazing treats that defy the conventional definition of gluten-free, vegan, and soy-free. These desserts need no labels because they are simply delicious, and purely decadent. You've got cookies, cupcakes, pastries, and all sorts of fun sundries with a punk rock vibe. For you deal seekers, did you know that they sell cut pieces of their Rebel Swrrrl AKA chocolate swiss roll for a bargain? You get all the best bits with the crisp ganache, tender chocolate cake, and whipped buttercream filing in a cup, perfect to grab and go. If you know me, I'm hella picky about my desserts, and especially cake. This stuff is flat out amazing, no labels required.

To find a restaurant that is gluten free and doesn't use rancid oils to cook food in is an absolute joy. Let me just say, this was everything I've been hoping for the past 12'ish years! The hostess was nice and seated me right away. I was near the pass so I go to see all of the yummy food as it came out. I opted for the Picnik Palmer and the chicken sandwich. I was so happy to see a GF fried chicken sandwich! The bun was great.... It didn't fall apart as so many GF buns do. The smashed potatoes were tasty. The Palmer was refreshing. My server was great. He explained that it was the first day for the new menu and he may not know it all yet. No problem. The restaurant itself was bright and airy. Very chill. I'm sure I'll be back on another work trip to try all the other amazing foods!

Coming in you see so many seating options whether you wanna sit indoors or outdoors, they give you a choice. You go to the front and order your food and pay for it right away and they give you a number so they could bring the food to your table. My friend and I watched ordered an entree and I had to add a drink in to try it. Brisket & Eggs- really good! It was not salty and it was a perfect balance! I ordered mine with a soft scrambled and lowkey I should've gotten the sunny side up eggs. The brisket was moist and not salty like other brisket I have had. Along with the grits on the bottom, it was creamy and light. Overall a great dish. Blood Orange Lalo-ma- on a hot day in Texas, this is a must have! It's so refreshing and with it being fruity, it was definitely a great choice. Also it's not super sweet. Overall I like this place a lot! I've never been here before and decided to just try a bunch of things. I am also not the biggest sushi person but lets just say, there wasnt one thing i didnt like. Nothing was fishy at all. Our favorite roll? Salmon gunkan. Absolutely magical taste!!! All the rolls were so delicately made and flavored uniquely. Soysauce and ginger really wasnt necessary (i have never ever said that before for a sushi restaurant. i always drench everything in sauce to not taste the fish but you do not need to do this here!!). Ebi yaki was a handroll and it was good as well, the thai curry dip was savory & yummy. Double fried chicken was yummy but a bit too salty for me. We also got gyudon and it was good but the portion was very small for $14 on a HH menu imo. Just dive in and get all the sushi because they're all so unique and yummy. I dont typically like any fish other than salmon but the tuna, yellowtail, etc...everything took me by surprise. I got the lychee martini and its small but creamy and so good. We got ice cream sandwich for dessert and it was okay? I wasnt a fan of the yuzu citrusy ice cream with a white chocolate base but it was unique! Last but not least, our server was so knowledgeable of the menu and gave amazing recommendations! Will i be back? I think so!

But by the time my friend arrived about 1:10 the line had disappeared and the crowd was quickly thinning out. I had the farmhouse club and my friend went with a salad (I forget which one). My sandwich was absolutely delicious and I cleaned it up. His salad was enormous and he couldn't finish it. He had enough leftover to take home for another meal. Neither came with a side but they are available for purchase. The restaurant is bright and cheerful inside with plenty of seating. And the staff are very friendly and eager to assist throughout the meal. The only downside is their prices being a little high for the type of setting so one star off. I will probably return anyway for the delicious sandwich. But I wish it came with chips!

I've been for both lunch and dinner, and lunch is clearly the peak time, which makes sense given the sandwich, salad, and soup menu. It feels built for the midday lunch crowd. The kitchen runs very efficiently, the line moves quickly, and online ordering is very easy. It's counter service, but I've taken meals to go a few times and everything traveled well. As of February 2026, it still has that brand new restaurant feel. The interior is bright, clean, and modern, and there's a ton of outdoor seating. However, you are just off 38th Street and across from the Seton medical complex, so al fresco dining may not be the quietest experience depending on traffic and time of day. Overall, a great addition to the area for lunch (or dinner).

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING we ordered was fresh, delicious, light, yet filling. I got the Social Butterfly drink which had butterfly pea powder in it to make it purple. It was as delicious as it was pretty. All the cocktails sounded amazing, I can't wait to go back and try them all. For starters we got the Guacamole, Brussel Sprouts and Crispy Macha Potatoes. Each of these were executed to perfection. The guacamole was fresh, topped with pomegranate seeds and well seasoned. The chips that came with it were light, crispy and it was gone in a flash! The Brussel Sprouts were cooked perfectly...tender and flavorful...not greasy...literally the best I've ever had. The Crispy Macha potatoes were next level!!! I have no idea how they make them, but they were SOOOOOO GOOD!!! I got the Waygu Sirloin as my main course and my friends got the Coconut Curry Squash. I enjoyed my steak and my friends liked their dish as well. We also shared the Roasted Beet Salad, which was fresh and tasty. Overall, can't wait to go back! 10 out of 10!!!

It was painfully boring. We had our 6-year-old, who is head of the Picky Eaters Society, so we ordered bread with butter. This 6-year-old, who eats bread on the daily, took one bite and wouldn't eat any more. We even get gluten-free bread regularly, and he eats it. The bread was fine, but don't expect flavor. By some miracle, they even made butter tasteless. I considered calling the Vatican to see if this was some holy, divine miracle, but my wife suggested maybe the main course would be better. We settled on the pesto pasta with chicken added for an additional fee. The pasta was good. Great texture, good flavor, and the combination of ingredients was good, but it's nothing original. It's pesto pasta. It's a classic. I appreciate the pomegranate seeds on the guacamole because it's original, it's clever, and it's different. We also ordered a special soda drink for our son, and it had a small black bug on top. I had them take it back and replace it. I kind of expected a "Listen, we apologize for the bug. Here's half off dinner," or something, but nothing. Service was fine, and it's a decent atmosphere. If you're looking for a place to sit and talk it's a great place, but if you want food or a drink go somewhere else.

It was made with a black rice that actually looked kind of blue, which made it really visually fun. The restaurant itself has a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a bar. It seems like a nice place to have a meal. As for the food, we ordered: Pad thai with chicken, mild spice - unfortunately this was a bit dry for me, though the taste was good. Pad see ew with chicken - I liked their version and would probably get it again. Pad woon sen with pork - typically my favorite noodle dish and I think they did a good job. Garden roll - good but not as packed as others I've had, and at a higher price point. Pineapple fried rice with pork - I liked this but was a bit on the oily side. Tom kha soup - I thought this was very good and had a decent amount of chicken and mushrooms Overall I liked everything but some items I felt I had better versions of elsewhere. It's also on the pricier side. Still, if in central Austin I think it's a solid choice for Thai food.
