Came here for date night and decided on the premium omakase! The restaurant was live and hip. Service was great. In addition to the quality of sushi, sashimi, meats and dessert the Sake was amazing too! Not sure which bottles we ordered but pairing it along the omakase made it even more fun! We took some friends out to dinner last week and they had made the recommendation to go here! We had never even heard of this place before (probably because we never go to cosmo). The vibe was great, dimly lit, crowded and great music was playing. Omg, I feel like we ordered EVERYTHING off the menu but here were some of my favorites: wagyu gyoza, hamachi, spicy fried tofu salad, miso black cod, sea bass and the corn on the cob.... We also got some type of dessert that was chocolate with caramel sauce inside- which was good- not my favorite dessert I've ever had, but it was ok- the dinner itself knocked my socks off and I can't wait to go back for more! read more

This was my first visit to Zuma in las Vegas Strip. The restaurant is located inside the Cosmopolitan hotel. The inside is a little dark, medium noise, different options of seating. They have high tables at the front, seating by the glass windows of the hotel with nice view, regular seating, romantic round cushioned tables, seating by the grill (this is is more interactive bc you get to see how the chefs prepare the meals). It's hard to give this place 3 stars, but a few reasons why 2 stars are missing from being perfect CONS 1. What really bothered my girlfriend and I was the avocado asparagus salad we ordered for $16. It was more of a bowl of a few almond sized paces of asparagus and avocado buried under some romaine greens. The dressing was amazing. We would've have complained to the waiter about it but he didn't check up on us in a timely matter, place is busy on a sat night Bottom line. The kitchen is open for the viewing witch is a delight. We noticed one chef slicing the sushi. He was very precise and time conscious, which we enjoyed watching him. He took pride in his job and seemed perfection when slicing thrift the fish I can't wait to go back to Zuma to dine again, look forward to ordering the lobster tempura I'm still but hurt about the money I threw away for a bowl of greens. If you're staying at Cosmo eat here it's very good. They've created an out of country Japanese atmosphere and the music is kinda clubby which is cool. The bar is really cool have a look at it when you're there it's a beautiful huge piece of tree trunk. I had the burning history drink and ribeye she had lobster.Service is great too. We had a near-impeccable visit last night... once we dumped our first server who didn't acknowledge our seated party for ten-plus minutes despite bustling to all the tables around us. (It was legit. like he was pretending we weren't there.) Anyway... Zuma has some of the most unique, robust flavors in Vegas, period. All of the small plates and entrees were exquisite, and I most highly recommend the chicken with spring onion skewers, the spicy beef tenderloin with sesame, red chili and sweet soy, and the roasted potato with shiso butter and sancho lime salt. The mixology at play in the cocktails is equally impressive, and each one felt more so like an experience than mere beverage. As alluded to above, service did a complete 180 once we alerted a manager to the first server's indifference and were reseated. The restaurant is just beautiful, but I will say the blatantly plastic autumn flowers hanging everywhere at present distract from the elegant "bones" of the place. Still, our expectations were exceeded in pretty much every way. The menus seem to change quite frequently, and so do a quick check before visiting to make sure you are intrigued by the current offerings. (Staples seem to remain, but there are definitely some things that swap in and out.) read more

I was in Vegas for a couple of days and was more than happy to be able to check off some of my old bookmarks! I've heard about this particular Japanese Tapas/Robata grill place for a while and was excited to go try it since I was staying at the Cosmopolitan. It was just a jump, skip, and a hop away from me. Zuma is located on South Las Vegas Blvd. right on the strip. It's inside of the Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino on the third floor. I believe there's validation at the front entrance if you're driving there. Just like the hotel itself, Zuma is a trendy and upscale Japanese restaurant with large windows facing the street. There's a bar area in the front for drinks and customers can also order food there. The interior is spacious with many small and big tables. The ambience is darkish with a lot of mood lighting which is pretty much the norm for a lot of the restaurants inside the Cosmopolitan. There's a raw bar on one side of the restaurant and another cooking and Robata Grill station on the other side. We were seated right away. (It wasn't really crowded on a Tuesday night.) Our server was both polite and kindly suggested a couple of dishes he liked himself. We ordered a few to share and got some tasty cocktails too. When in Vegas..... Overall I would definitely go back and try more of their other dishes like the Robata meats, skewers, and signature dishes. They have so many delicious looking dishes on the menu, I'm sure there's something for anyone's discerning tastes. Lychee & Rose Petal Martini : I was hesitant in ordering this, but I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was going to be too sweet. Instead it as the right amount of fruit flavor to alcohol. I had two of these. : ) If you like fruity cocktails, this is the one for you. Steamed Baby Spinach w/ Sesame Dressing : This was good. It's a cold dish. The sesame was all mixed into the spinach, but I still wished there were more of the dressing. Prawn & Black Cod Dumplings : This dish seemed like a favorite here so we ordered it. It's similar to Chinese Fish Dumplings except with Black Cod. If you like fish dumplings, you'll like this dish. Japanese Sweet Corn w/ Shiso Butter : This was a good side to order. The corn were all slathered in butter. I had to floss majorly bad after but it was worth it. : ) King Crab w/ Ponzu Lime Butter : This was one of their Robata Seafood items. I love King Crab so I had to order this. This isn't a big portion; probably about one leg. The ponzu lime butter really makes the dish. I loved dipping the king crab into the sauce! If you're there with a group, I'd suggest ordering more than one for the table. Green Tea & Banana Cake w/ Coconut Ice Cream & Peanut Toffee Sauce : This was delicious! I'm glad I picked it from all the other desserts on the menu. The presentation was on point too. The thin slices of banana on top was a nice touch. The coconut ice cream was light and smooth. However the green tea part was only a thin layer on the bottom of the banana cake so that was a letdown. I feel like they should've at least have half of it be green tea. read more

Zuma was a terrific experience in the Cosmopolitan for anyone looking for a fine dining izakaya experience. Note that pricing is high as is most of the restaurants in these five-star hotels but for the most part, I think the price of admission is well worth it. Food/Drink: +Drink-wise, they have a list of wonderful Japanese cocktails including a fine whiskey list. I aimed for the Zuma special cocktail specific to Vegas here. It comes with a lovely carved ice and a strong yet smooth heavier cocktail. +Pork belly skewers: One of my favorite dishes here that I tried. It melts in your mouth and the sauce it comes with mixes so well with the dish as a light lime topping. Comes with a great radish as a nice balance too. +Wagyu Truffle Gyozas: Truffle me silly. This was a special when I stopped on by and was well worth the price of admission as my second favorite dish. Absolutely loved the truffle flavor that permeated the dish and the meat was just delicious. +Chilean Sea Bass: I loved the presentation of this dish more than the taste admittedly. This sea bass isn't as tender/melt-in-your-mouth worthy as others I've tried but I did like the nice greens balance on top and the sauce was light/nice. +Yellowtail Roll: I also tried a nice yellowtail cut roll that came with some salmon roe and overall didn't taste too shabby. Admittedly,, I think I enjoyed the cooked items more in comparison. Service/Decor: +I sat at the bar and the bartender (forgot your name - sorry!) was super nice and friendly. Got to see some of the magic of the ice creation as well which was great. Food came out at a quick rate and on a weekday, it wasn't too busy although they do take reservation. +Love the decor here. My overall summation: it just wasn't all that. It certainly wasn't bad, but it was definately flat. We ordered a good selection across the menu. Some items were tastier than others, again: just meh. Flavors off balance. Sauces that didn't make it beyond a chopstick quick taste. Again, not bad, but at that level, Chef should be delivering excitement in every plate, building a joy that warms you up. You float out of the restaurant and remember the time as special. I hated the table. The location and the furniture itself. Heavy and hard to maneuver in and out. I would have preferred to be in the main dining room to enjoy the Boulevard lights and the open kitchen. Restaurant was slow and they were only seating in front. Had the food been sensational, the service thoughtful, I wouldn't have thought twice about the table I hated. Zuma falls in with the Nobu, Sushi Roku see and be seen sushi club spots. Zuma is the place for you if you are a restaurant name dropper and you love almost live blogging your meal plate by plate while on an LV weekend. You want something fancy and showy and quintessentially LV. Again, it was not bad. At this price point, our city has several equivalents that will knock your socks off. And, if you've been to any of them you'll find yourself big time comparing. read more

If you haven't tried Zuma yet and you're reading this review.....you better make that reservation now! This has been the best sushi and robataki I'vee had in Las Vegas. The service matches the outstanding food here. I ordered the sushi sampler, wagyu steak, salmon belly, scallop, Toro and spider roll. All of this was so tasty and fresh but the wagyu sushi with truffle was to DIE for. It melts in your mouth and you're eyes will roll to the back of your head. The skewers we tried were steak and pork belly. Key words are "melt in your mouth." The pork belly was especially exceptional and they use Kurobuta pork. Appetizer standouts out of ones we tried were the roasted potato robata and black cod and prawn gyozas. The gyozas are delicate and house-made. They are unusual with the fish inside but tasted beyond amazing and so unique. The potato is like a Japanese style baked potato that they mix it together at your table. It was unique and delicious. The only things I would skip would be the fried calamari and rock shrimp tempura. The rock shrimp was not really rock shrimp as those have a different texture and flavor. The calamari was bland as well. We went here two days in a row and we are going again. The best Japanese restaurant we have tried in Las Vegas! read more

The hostess who answered was so nice and told us that as long as we don't have swimsuits on..we should be fine :) Dress Code: no swim suits; no slippers (guys) As we got greeted up front, we were greeted with a smile from the hostess. The "head hostess" lol (the only girl wearing blazer & pants, maybe the manager) accommodated our preference and did her best to get us the table we wanted. She did it with a smile and no complain. The food: Appetizer: we had the pork belly appetizer (THE BEST DISH OF THE NIGHT!), beef tataki, & tuna tataki & grilled appetizers. Main Dish: Chilean Sea Bass & Wagyu Skirt Steak. I came in with 2 girlfriends on a Wednesday night, we all loved the dining experience here. It was overall very outstanding. All the employees were friendly and professional and our server was knowledgeable about their menu. They do not serve the food in an ordinary order. Whichever item is cooked first will be serve on your table; so it can be main course or appetizer. Our first dish was the California roll, it was very fresh and light we all love it. Then we got the tiger prawn, the prawn was not soggy at all like some restaurants that don't cook it right or just overall low quality, with the zesty taste of the lemon, and the charcoal grill taste, it was super tasty. Our third dish was the grilled scallops, also very fresh and I just can not get enough of the charcoal grill flavor. Next dish was the spicy beef tenderloin with roasted potato on the side. The beef tenderloin was perfectly cooked and the meat was just so tender it feels like it just melts in your mouth. We loved the roasted potato, they actually prepare your roasted potato at your table for you so you can see how they stir up all the topping that came with it. I ordered the seabass as well which came last, I always love seabass and this place also made it amazingly good. I loved the minty sauce that came with it. Now, since we are all girls, of course we are going to order dessert. We got their special menu dessert; the chocolate soufflé with ice cream and praline just to share and ended up getting the second one. It was THAT GOOD! I've been to Zuma in Dubai and I was excited to try their new location in Vegas. We started with craft cocktails and all of them was amazing!! Especially, the Smokey cocktail was the best one ever I had. They torched the wood by the table and make fresh cocktail in front of you. Ordered several appetizers and sushi to share. You must try spicy tuna and salmon tar tar! That was so creamy and melt in your mouth. Our server was very attentive and professional. She recommended us the specialty roll and it was delicious. We come here for birthdays, our anniversary, Valentine's Day and anytime we feel like eating delicious food. I wouldn't bother with the menu and just order the omakase. We recently dined 6/27/20 with our best friends and they loved it. It was their first time there and now they know why we hype us this place so much. This was, without question, the best meal of my life. The restaurant describes itself as a "sophisticated twist" on "informal dining". That description is totally accurate - this was the most informal fine dining experience I've ever had. Our table was fantastic - on a raised platform along the side of the restaurant with a view to the robata and sushi bar. We dined while seated on, get this, a comfy, cozy sofa. Unreal. We ordered the premium omakase and let the chef make all the decisions for us. Ken, our server, was so much fun! He explained every dish, answered more than a few questions and perfectly paced our meal - over two and a half hours. He also offered cocktail and sake suggestions - we followed all his advice and were thrilled with the result. If you're any kind of cocktail lover you have to try the burning history - it is smoky, sweet, complex and utterly delicious. The presentation is stunning as the smoke is captured tableside from a whisky barrel stave set alight by a tiny blowtorch. The man who prepared this drink for my husband was an artist! I had the rikka tonic, brilliant, astringent, bitter and juicy. Our meal consisted of 4 appetizers, one sushi roll, 4 pair of nigiri, 2 pair of sashimi, a vegetable course, a fish course and a meat course and wrapped up with the deluxe dessert platter. It's hard to say for certain but I think the sea bass was my favorite. There were so many things happening with that dish it felt like my whole body was buzzing while I was eating it. Every dish was beautiful and delicious and each course flowed into the next exactly as it should. This was an expensive meal but worth it in every possible way. We will be back soon to try a few of the menu items that weren't part of our experience. Also excited for the return of the seasonal omakase which Ken promised will be amazing!! read more

What an amazing birthday experience! My girlfriend and I came here for a birthday dinner and we had the best service and even better food! Our server, May was so nice and very accommodating. The manager, Christian was also very nice and talked to us for awhile. They both made us very at home and we really enjoyed the ambiance and food. Must try the sea bass and sliced yellowtail. This location PADDED THE TIP on my bill BY 3 TIMES the original bill. The food was great, service was great (on the surface), but I checked my credit card bill and discovered a charge of over $650 on what was an approximately $200 bill (no drinks, 4 people sharing small plates). I even remember adding a large tip because I wanted to thank the servers. I can't imagine what we would've ordered to amount to $650+ to feed four people. Maybe if we each ordered the most expensive steak ($135 x 4 = $540, so about $100 in tip???). I just discovered this and I'll be calling management and authorities in the morning.
