We all got our food EXCEPT one person. Terrible. By the time their food came OUR food was COLD.

We stopped on our way to the train station. The poor bartender was serving all of the tables in our area plus the bar, he was rushed off his feet, while the other workers were chatting and another one carried two glasses of water at a time and nothing else. Food was decent on the sandwich, and the bananas foster was just drenched in maple syrup, it was mostly maple syrup. EVERYTHING tasted like maple syrup, the fruit, the bacon, all! The space was mostly frantic and stressful. People that arrived after us cancelled their order because they would've lost their train. The kicker? Downstairs is closed, the booths by the entrance are empty but reserved, and outside patio is closed. So yeah. Also, some yelling came out of the kitchen, like when people are horsing around. The bartender even had to look in 'cause he got startled. Do better. Not worth the 65 dllrs. Adding pictures of the food for reference. This restaurant is now located in the new Embassy Suites Pioneer Square (according to other reviews, it had moved). It's great to have a more casual spot in the hotel, and they're open 24/7, which is a bonus. We at there three times during our stay, just because it was so delicious and so convenient. The first day I had the crab and cheddar melt, which was kind of 'meh' (I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it was still a bit of a letdown. The second time I had the veal piccata, which was a perfect portion and delicious (and the spaghettini it came with was great too). The third time I got their 'famous' chicken parmigiana, which was also good. The vibe looks kind of upscale (the waiters wear full aprons and ties), but it's pretty casual. They have these oversized chairs at the bar that looked comfortable-we never sat there but it was a unique touch. Chuc was our server twice, and he was amazing-attentive and friendly without hovering. It's a great addition to the hotel if you just want a quick bite (and prices aren't that bad, either). read more

The food turn out ok. I had the Steak David. Thought it was a good idea considering my name is David and we were celebrating my birthday. It was good enough. On the other hand my wife had the Reuben sandwich. It was cold. We requested a fresh and hot version. It was perfect the second time. The Chef, Marquis, went above and beyond to accommodate us and make my meal special. Our waiter, Chuck was absolutely horrible. He should not be working in food service or hospitality. Bottom line: I wanted to like this place. The atmosphere was nice, the service was ok, but the food was disappointing. It would be hard press to return. 3-stars because the line cooks were really nice and our waitress was very helpful. Service: an important factor to your overall experience when you go out to eat and this place met the par. We were seated relatively quickly but the drink orders came in relatively late. Our waitress seemed to be the only working so I won't put this on her. However, there were other people on the staff just waiting around so I took that into account - as in - that's not my job... so I'm just going to stand here. Others may say that can provide more time to chat and soak in the ambience... perhaps... but I would like to do that with some drinks in my hand first. I would probably consider that a win-win for the customer and venue... but that's just me. Food: full disclosure... I did it to myself. When I ordered their rib-eye, the two side choices I got (with all the meats) were spaghettini or potatoes. The first thought was... huh... they only offer two of these choices with their meat... I wonder if it's some special spaghetti or noodles to complement the ribeye.. something that would be hard to pull off. I was intrigued. I ordered it... and nope.. unfortunately for me... it was exactly something I hoped it wasn't. Noodles and meat... mutually exclusive of each other. The meat was good- cooked to order- but the combination of the two did not make it a pleasant meal. Could not finish. I do, however, recommend their artichoke and crab dip.. it is great! Venue: the ambience is nice and welcoming. Very reminiscent of a hipster post-50s joint. And yes I acknowledge those are very different genres. I actually liked it and made the restaurant appealing to the senses. I just wished their food complimented it. Overall: don't know if I would visit here for dinner. I had an amazing trip there! Short walk from King station if you have a layover, and amazing place. Shika, my server, was very kind. She made me feel welcomed and safe when I was somewhere new. I had their French Toast with caramelized bananas. Delicious. Very sweet and filling and definitely for a good price. The interior was very professional and fancy. I sat at a single booth in the lounge and it was very comfortable, a bit of a tight squeeze but the entire place had an open layout and an open patio with a ocean breeze. Horrible service! The past 6 months of going to 13 Coins have been extremely disappointing with the service worse each time. Today a few of us decided to try again but were met with the same issues. We were seated (which took over 30 minutes) and our drinks and appetizers arrived right away. The problem is with our main meal. We waited almost an hour for it, watching others get their meals even though they ordered after us. Finally we had to leave - without ever getting our food. My hunch is that the order was never put in. I don't know what is happening with 13 Coins, if it's a lack of staff or what, but something needs to change. It's a great place to go before games but we will no longer be going due to too many incidents. I would not recommend, especially if you don't have hours to wait for a meal. read more

Went to King Street location today for late breakfast. Have been here many times and loved it. Today was horrible. There were 6 of us, they sat us in the lower level bar at one long table side by side... service was almost non existent for the first 15 minutes. It was so noisy we couldn't hold a conversation especially since we were not sitting across from each other. We finally placed our order and drinks took another 10 min to get. Food took an hour and several items were forgotten and had to be brought out. I felt like I was in a noisy cafeteria, NO ambiance, no one said anything to us when we left, they just watched us walk out. They were busy but that is no excuse. Great spot to grab a quick pint or bite before catching your train. It was pretty quiet around 5pm on a Monday, but the staff went above and beyond to welcome me and show top tier hospitality. Mike the sous chef was the best hang and entertainer while he worked and I sat at the bar. Cora at front of house was an absolute sweet heart. Sarah got my beer but wanted me to try a few IPAs on tap to find the best one, which is obviously a beer enthusiast's dream. My recent visit to the Seattle location left me kind of speechless. We ordered two 13 coins burgers, one Reuben and one clubhouse. When I received my bill I found a charge for $11.99 for two sides of mayonnaise one side of ranch and one side of thousand island. When I confronted management about this they told me this was their policy to charge for sides of sauce. I've been eating at 13 coins all my life especially at the SeaTac location and I have never been charged for something I think most people would agree as a complementary item. Needless to say I will not be returning to the Seattle location. read more

I was jonesing for some French Onion soup and frankly that is what took us the 13 Coins at SeaTac on the way to drop off someone for a flight. I hadn't been in years and have memories from childhood of the atmosphere and vast menu. Last time we were there the food was quite good and the vibe very old-school. The soup came and was not even hot. The cheese was melted so it had to be hot at some point but it was lukewarm when we got it. We ordered a Caesar Salad what was very mediocre. We left there wishing that Anthony's served French Onion soup because they have a great fresh Caesar salad with dressing that doesn't taste bottled. The service was great we left a good tip but would not likely return although it brought back some nice memories when the food was better. So disappointing. We were hoping it would be a place we'd go to as a treat when we were making the trek to pick up a traveler, but we will look for another place. A good solid restaurant. My wife had lunch, prime rib French dip with a tasty au jus. Her sandwich came with these very tasty French fries. I ordered one of their many omelettes which was perfectly cooked and a side of soft cooked bacon. The bacon was wildly delicious. Our waiter took good care of us and made sure to bring me lots of freshly brewed coffee. While we did not partake, 13 Coins does have a full bar. The leather captains chairs at the bar are unique . My wife and I wanted to experience the big, over- stuffed chairs that overlooks the line cooks. The wife ordered the spinach salad. I ordered the garlic- Parmesan wings. Both were delicious! Our waiter was Allen. I am not sure if that is the correct spelling. He was tremendous! Courteous, caring, and very personable. Came for lunch today with my friends. We were greeted upon entering and told it be a few minutes while a table was set since there were four of us. We were shown to a nice booth and served water immediately. I had the fish tacos of the light menu, one friend had a chef salad, another a burger and the third the frittata. My blackened fish tacos had a fresh mango salsa, small corn salad on the side and a roasted poblano. Tasty you receive three and cost $15. My friend with the burger enjoyed his and was able to switch out cheddar for Swiss. My friend with the chef salad added chicken. Probably the. best deal was my friend's frittata. Usually you expect a slice but she received a whole frittata a generous size that could easily be three meals. It doesn't cone with anything else, but you can add toast, fruit or hash browns for extra. My second time here for lunch, have always had great and friendly service. read more

Come on who turns down free treats, I don't. Now I'm a veal person and it's either veal piccata or veal parmasion which in my opinion is one of my favorite versions anywhere in the country. Layered with two types of cheese on a crispy veal or chicken with layered red sauce and a bed of pasta. Now the rib eye steak with crispy onions atop along with a mushroom cap is my second favorite meal. Breakfast food is always good and available 24hrs a day. For those wanting a cheeseburger well get ready cause it's an absolute winner. I'd love to know the hidden spice behind the burger but it's seasoning is so robust and flavorful you'll never want a burger elsewhere. We came here for brunch because the wait at London Plane was too long. The place has a nice ambience with spacious/comfortable seating so we were hoping for something truly delicious to go along with it. I got the chicken and apple sausage with scrambled eggs. The sausage was overcooked/burnt (see pic) and the eggs were nothing to write home about. The best part of the dish was the large serving of hash browns (the 3 stars are all for this) - crispy and perfectly done.
