This restaurant is one of my parents' top places to get lunch or dinner whenever we eat out. The food is good value with large portions, and there's always a variety to choose from. The dishes have a nice, home-cooked flavor so I think it's like comfort food for my family. Personally, I'm more picky. There's dishes I feel are a hit or miss for me, and, unfortunately, the ones I end up enjoying the most aren't offered long. The first time we visited, we got the Taiwanese popcorn chicken (one of my favorite dishes!!). Though there was plenty of chicken and it looked great, I felt the chicken tasted somewhat dry, or lean. I was pretty disappointed, and we didn't order that dish again for our next several visits. Though the popcorn chicken was not my standard, any rice, cabbage, and noodle dishes in the menu are always delicious. I was particularly impressed by the salty egg oyster mushroom dish, which almost reminded me of fried pork belly! Unfortunately, the next time we ordered that dish, the quality and taste seemed slightly different, and then the following visit later, the dish was no longer available. I was also impressed by the salty egg bitter melon, which had very little bitterness and was very flavorful (I guess I really lean towards all the egg-salted foods haha). I never liked bitter melon, but this dish changed my impressions drastically, so I really wanted to eat it again the next time we visited. Yesterday, we came with friends and ordered a variety of dishes (including the popcorn chicken) for everyone to try. Unfortunately, the bitter melon was sold out, which was very disappointing for me. Everything else we've ordered was good, though my opinion of the popcorn chicken hasn't changed since our first visit. The service is always great, so there's not much to say about that. Overall, I'm not happy about the inconsistency of quality and availability of certain dishes. I checked again today to see if the bitter melon dish is available, and it still remains sold out. Maybe the things I like aren't very popular so they are gradually fazed out. Or, the ingredients are generally limited or expensive to procure. However, the food is fine and I'll most likely be back again with my family for another visit. I just hope I can find something I really like that can stick around longer than the other two dishes.
151 Days was recommended by our friend from Taiwan, recommended for its authenticity. We had dinner here and would definitely be back! The standout for us was definitely the cordyceps flower black chicken soup which felt nourishing, it was the highlight of our meal. We also ordered the stir-fried water spinach with beef, which was very authentic. The mapo tofu was soft, comforting, and to our surprise, just $1 with their dine-in promotion, it was such a great deal! Ordering was quick and easy via a tablet, and the food arrived fast. The seating is spacious and open, making it a comfortable place to dine. We also loved the cute decor touches, especially around the bar area.
Came here at night for dinner as a group of 3 - the food was mostly very good - we got the lions head meatball, sautéed pea vines, and one of the chicken soup. There was also a deal where mapo tofu was just $1 with any purchase, so we also got one of them. I think everything except the soup was great, which is a bit ironic given their specialty and the high price. The soup wasn't bad, but just felt like a standard chicken broth. I know black silkie chickens are pretty expensive by default so the price isn't unjustifiable, but I found the meat only okay and there wasn't that much other stuff in it. The meatballs and mapo tofu were really tasty though, and the $1 deal made it very worth it - I would come back for the various non soup dishes.
Restaurant was nicely decorated, and when we first got there was completely empty. But it was still early on a Thursday night and as we sat down, several other parties came in. What I noticed was that everyone there was authentic Chinese. My husband and son were the only non-Chinese in the whole place which means authentic Chinese folks love this place. The food was very good. My son loved the popcorn chicken, the pepper beef was nice and tender and had great flavor. The pea vines were delicious and the fried rice was tasty. Next time I come, I will need to try some of the soup. It looks delicious, but we didn't want to over order.
The last time I was here was when they were 151 Days Chicken? I can't remember exactly but it was closer to when they opened. Popped in for lunch right when they opened and ordered the bento (lots of options and reasonably priced), also ordered the beef noodle soup, ma po tofu and a ground pork and bean stir fry. The bento was fine- spicy crispy chicken wasn't very spicy, came with a side of ma po tofu that was super spicy, cabbage was bland (Monga does it better), the rice came with some ground pork on top and that was good. The beef in the noodle soup wasn't tender, the ground pork dish was good. Overall, experience was fine. There is parking lot and tons of street parking.
Known for their signature chicken soup, 151 Days represents how the Bresse chickens used at this restaurant are raised to the prime age of 150 days, and therefore served on the 151st day. Five of us made a reservation for 11:30A on a Saturday. There were already a few tables occupied and by around 12:15P, the entire restaurant was full. We placed our order and asked that the soup be served first so we could taste it independently without any other dishes as a distraction. It takes at least 15 minutes to prepare the soup, so just be ready for a little wait if you make the same request. + CLAM & GARLIC CHICKEN SOUP ($42.95): Being one of their signature soups, of course I was the most excited for this dish, but ended up being the most let down by it. The chicken pieces were mostly bone and skin with the meat being flavorless (from being completely boiled out) and pretty dry. I honestly couldn't tell it was the Bresse chicken at all... it didn't taste like anything special. Also, they threw in a bunch of whole garlic cloves, but they had also lost all their flavor, making them unpleasant to eat. All this said, my favorite ingredient in the soup was the clams. Also, the broth itself was clean, clear and comforting to sip since it was so light. However, for $42, this was far from worth it. + PEA SHOOTS w/ GARLIC ($17.95): Loved these! The pea shoots were tender and fresh, covered in a potent garlic oil. I could eat a whole plate of these, and the pieces of mushrooms were great additions. + STEAMED COD w/ SOY SAUCE ($21.95): The steamed fish itself was delicate, topped with slices of green onion and ginger and in a pool of soy sauce. Unfortunately there were SO MANY small bones in the fish which made it difficult to enjoy since I had to be so cautious with every bite. + TAIWANESE FRIED NOODLES ($14.95): This was a solid noodle dish with cabbage, onion, carrot and the most tender beef. It was a little oily, but the noodles were cooked perfectly and had great flavor from the wok. + SICHUAN SPICY CRISPY CHICKEN ($14.95): Fried pieces of chicken came in a slightly sweet soy sauce, topped with peppers and green onion. The exterior of the chicken was lightly fried and the pieces were fairly lean. The tantalizing spice was addicting and I couldn't stop eating it. + SALTED EGG SHRIMP BALLS ($18.95): These were actually whole shrimp, coated in a fried batter that consisted of salted duck egg, with more of it sprinkled on top. The shrimp were plump and had the perfect snap, while the duck egg gave it a rich flavor. This isn't a dish that you find often, so I recommend it! The service was fine at the beginning, but after we received all our food, we were not checked on again until we were ready for the bill. Additionally, they don't offer hot tea, which is essentially unheard of at Chinese restaurants. While I enjoyed four out of the six dishes, a large consideration comes down to their signature soup which unfortunately was a large miss. 3.25 stars.
Amazing food and great price for the portion. Style is home-cooking Taiwanese stir fries. I loved the pork and bamboo shoots stir fry and the leeks and pork one. The pork bun was surprisingly good too Seating was comfortable, clean, and pleasant. Kind and attentive service I highly recommend it!
It was so lovely to be able to experience 151 days in Redmond. The chicken broth which is ample and refillable was a treat. It was a little herbally but felt clean as you drink this soup. The restaurant itself is clean and the staff friendly. Beef noodle soup super good with the anise 5 star spices and tender meats with noodles perfectly cooked. The thousand year old egg with tofu and sprouts unique and a blend of modern and classic tastes..this was my favorite. The fermented tofu was unique and definitely an acquired taste. Popcorn chicken fun and great for kids! We ordered so much more but those were our standout dishes. Definitely a must return here to eat place!
The restaurant has a clean and open concept, and it wasn't too busy or loud when we went. The service is efficient and professional, although not especially hospitable (which doesn't bother me personally, but I know that matters to some people). Unfortunately the food itself was just mediocre. The braised beef pot and mapo tofu were not very good, in my opinion. The beef pot was basically a pot of mostly tendon, which isn't my personal favorite. The mapo tofu was only $1 because of a special promo they have right now, but I wouldn't get it again. It lacked depth in flavor, although it might be a good introduction to the dish for someone who's never tried it before (since it's only $1). I quite enjoyed the pork stir fry and cabbage stir fry. These are pretty simple dishes to make, though, so I would expect a restaurant to execute such dishes well. We had a disappointing experience since this restaurant has such a decent rating. Maybe it was an off day or something, but I will not likely return.
151 Days serves family style Taiwanese dishes, as well as bento boxes that are perfect if you prefer not to share food! The crispy chicken bento was amazing. It came with very well seasoned sides, and the crispy chicken (lightly fried) went perfectly with the rest of the dishes. Usually, I don't eat much of the sides in a bento box, but the curry, cabbage, and cucumber salad were amazing pairings that I devoured. The chicken also had a spicier kick than I expected, which I didn't mind but may be helpful to know if you have a lower tolerance. Went in at 12pm on a Saturday and there was plenty of seating, which got filled by 12:45pm. The overall ambience was great and relaxing. Waiters were attentive and helpful in decision making!

Really loved the cute interior and the delicious broth! We got the seaberry juice, wonton soup, and noodle soup. The seaberry juice was a bit tart, but still refreshing. The wonton soup was my favorite here, since the soup was the most flavorful and had a nice salty kick. Wontons we're soft and melt in your mouth. The noodle soup was delicious too (the handmade noodles were really tasty), but the broth was less flavorful than the wonton soup. Definitely will be coming back for the wonton soup and to try a few more appetizers! read more

I had high hopes for this restaurant after hearing about the owner's methodology and backstory. My husband and I went shortly after opening on a Wednesday. There were only two other tables seated, so it was quite empty. The restaurant's atmosphere was very cozy, comfortable, and quiet. Very clean and open dining room. Our waitress was friendly and polite. At the table, there's lots of custom stamped plates, and I LOVED the cute soup spoons! There's a bar area, with lots of beers on tap, but nothing on the menu about. beer or wine. Maybe the license just isn't up yet? Right off the bat, my husband was excited to try the chicken stuffed rice balls, but the waitress said that they were not available. Bummer! But it happens. We opted to start with some potstickers and braised peanuts, and we both ordered a bowl of the chicken noodle soup. The star of the show, and I mean the ENTIRE show, was the braised peanuts. Like, WOW. So good! My husband isn't one for ordering peanuts at a restaurant, but he couldn't stop eating them, and neither could I. They were boiled in beef broth and had a delicious flavor and a texture that reminded me more of beans than peanuts. The potstickers were also very tasty, and we both agreed they were better without the sauce that it comes with. Now... the soup. This is where things fell apart. I grew up raising chickens and eating ones that we slaughtered, so I'm fully aware that older chickens have a tougher texture. I had no problem with that! I actually really enjoyed the flavor of the chicken. But the soup itself was quite uninspiring and lukewarm. And I mean that literally - the soup was not hot at all. I could have chugged the broth straight after serving, and my husband actually did exactly that. Looking around, several other diners were slurping on the same soup and none of them seemed like they were hot either. There was zero steam coming off of the bowls, and nobody seemed bothered by it. But I saw another table order the Coconut Chicken Soup and it was served piping hot, so maybe the chicken noodle soup is just served cold? I have to wonder if that might be a slight food safety issue though, given that hot foods have to be served at a certain temperature? The egg that came in the soup was delightful at least. I love tea eggs though, and could eat them all day. Ultimately we were left disappointed because of that soup. And I feel bad saying that because I had high hopes after reading about the backstory and seeing all the rave reviews on social media and food blogs. I do want to come back and try that coconut chicken at some point, but more than anything I just want more of those peanuts! read more

Tl;dr: Not a fan. This one's a doozy. Ordered the spicy wontons, lamb chow mein, smoked bresse chicken, chicken noodle soup, creamy mushroom chicken (thigh) with fried rice. The chili oil for the wontons was flavorful, but wontons themselves didn't stand out. The chow mein was a disappointment and falsely advertised. Completely lacking any stir fry taste -- in fact, the bottom of the dish has a puddle of soup/liquid. Not even close to a chow mein. You might be able to pass it off as a lo mein but even those don't have the degree of soup this one did. What was supposed to be the highlight of this restaurant ended up falling flat. Bresse chicken is "likened to be the kobe beef of poultry." The chicken we had for all three chicken dishes were dry and stringy, as if the meat had been sitting for a while after being cooked. The smoked chicken had a slight smoky flavor but don't expect to taste much of other spices; the amount you get for $20 is also lacking as there's very little meat on the bone. Oh boy, here we go...the mushroom dish. The mushroom sauce chicken was also just as dry even though it wasn't smoked. The thigh meat had small pieces of lingering bone because the chef didn't cut them out during prep. There's maybe just enough sauce for the chicken and nowhere enough to touch the rice. The fried rice uses brown rice which is healthy but unexpected, and also not advertised. Finally, $25 for this dish? Extremely overpriced especially for this quality. Not sure I'd pay even $15 for this. The chicken soup broth was their only redemption, hence the 1 star. The clear broth didn't have much sodium but had a good depth of chicken flavor to lift up the dish. Service was lacking. We were told to seat ourselves which was fine. But no one came to instruct us on how to order. The QR code sign was flipped around so we sat waiting until one of flipped the sign over and discovered it ourselves. Worse yet, as we were poking our order in, the next few tables that were seated were actually given physical menus and servers who took their orders. Fast forward mid-meal, we had to ask for a water refill as no one came by to check and also asked for bowls to share. First person completely forgot and we had to flag down someone else...who said okay, but went elsewhere to pick a bill and deliver to a table, go back into the kitchen to check on orders on a receipt, and then rounding back for our bowls. I get it. You're busy and probably short staffed. But if you aren't able to do something right away, at least let us know so we aren't left guessing and waiting. To top it all off, every table has a sign that says rate on Yelp or Google and get a free dessert and Mongolian milk tea. We asked the server and guess what? Turns out it's only available on weekdays. Cool. Nowhere on the sign is that restriction written out. Not so cool. Extra salt on the wound: The guest Wi-Fi doesn't even work. Kinda disappointed that they have changed their menu - chicken noodle soup with poached chicken was my comfort food during colder days. Now, the same item has been changed it to smoked chicken and it feels a bit more like a hybrid of northern Chinese style and pho style noodles, instead of the southern Chinese style noodles which I really enjoyed. Our first time here. I came across this restaurant while dining at Shaburina and decided to give it a try. Compliments to the chef, food deserves a 5 Stars rating, the Arlington Bresse chicken noodles soup and beef tagine with noodles were delicious. We also had the chicken soup terrine; pork pot stickers and fried Chinese donuts plus a dessert As we started eating our meals I noticed that the hard boiled eggs were missing from my order. It was difficult to get the attention of the waiting staff as it is our order didn't come out complete. I've also noticed that the wait staff were trying to deliver food but to the wrong table. But I do have to say that the wait staff were really trying hard to service the guests but there were a good few errors I spotted not just from my order but with the table across from us as well. One good thing I have to say that my to-go order on Arlington Bresse Chicken Noodles soup menu item were completed correctly and didn't miss the hard boiled eggs . This review is for my experience during their soft opening. I was with a group of six total and we were seated right away for dinner on a Saturday. We were only given 2 menus and we had to try and find a waiter to grab us some more menus. Additionally, we weren't given any water or asked if we wanted drinks until 15 or so minutes after arriving. Half the menu items were crossed out on the menus, so there were only a couple options to choose from. I will add, my sister eats mostly vegetarian and there was basically nothing on the menu to accommodate someone more plant-based. Their vegetable dishes were crossed off on the menu and even the veggie soup would have been made with a chicken soup base. I'm just noting this to keep in mind if you come here with any dietary restrictions or preferences. We ended up ordering several Bresse chicken soups with noodles, a steak tagine, a chicken soup without noodles, two orders of chicken dumplings, a coconut water, and the Mongolian milk tea. I'll start with the food. I enjoyed the bresse chicken soup with noodles. The flavor is very mild, but it would definitely hit the spot on a cold and rainy day. I wish they provided some kind of chili oil or some sauce with the soup because overall the flavor isn't very strong. The steak tagine was very dry. The noodles didn't have much flavor and needed a lot more sauce. I would skip the chicken soup without noodles because for $9 all you get is a tiny cup of broth with 1 piece of chicken. My dad ordered the soup expecting it to be a meal size, but it's a tiny portion. I thought the pan fried chicken dumplings were good. I liked the garlic sauce that comes with them. My dad had the coconut juice and he loved it. He said it tasted super fresh. The pictures in the menu next to the Mongolian milk tea showed an iced tea drink, but the milk tea actually comes hot. The Mongolian tea is $5 but comes with refills. I was never offered a refill on the drink, but to be honest nobody in my family liked the tea and we are huge tea drinkers! I let everyone in the group taste the milk tea and nobody wanted to take more than a sip. The milk tea was very bitter, muddy, and super chunky. Overall, my experience here was just okay. I had higher expectations for $15 chicken noodle soup and the other dishes. I think this restaurant still has some kinks to work out during their soft opening. If I ever come back at a later date I will update this review. read more

They are currently under new ownership (original owner of Looking for Chai). Food here is much better than the other Chai locations. They mainly specialize in Taiwanese "quick stir fry." Will definitely come back for more! read more

We had a great meal! The dishes are healthy and the chicken soup is great for a cold rainy day here in PNW. I recommend the combo meal for 45, enough for people plus leftovers and you get to sample a bit of everything. The chicken salad is also quite special. read more

First time here for lunch. It's a pretty big restaurant with simple decor and bar counter. We ordered Pork belly rice and chicken noodle soup. The belly and the broth were flavorful. The soup was a bit oily maybe they can add less oil or get rid of the oil next time. They have many interesting selections. Great food and great service.
