Came here to try the food before they close permanently on Jan.31st. I was able to grab a seat at the bar after waiting about 20mins. I ordered the scallops with collards and grits. Everything was delicious. Sad to see them go.

Agave was a lovely surprise. My friends and I popped in on a Friday night, 30 min before they closed. I was nervous that the food wouldn't be good or they would rush us but my experience was the complete opposite. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. I ordered the crawfish pasta and OMG it was so good! I also gave the bartender full creative control on crafting a mocktail and she did not disappoint. I will definitely go back to check out additional menu items.

This is the last time we'll be able to enjoy Agave but everything was wonderful! The swordfish special with mashed potato and broccolini. The garlic spinach was so tasty. Shrimp egg rolls, street corn and cesar salad! Everything was so tasty! I had a very well mixed old fashion. I hope the owners will find a way to open a new place/concept and [[HIGHLIGHT]]continue the wonderful service, atmosphere and food that we've grown to love!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am so disappointed it's going to close soon so I went back and visited it. This time I tried the mussels and the tuna tartar and both are excellent dishes. Do check it out before they close for Good.

I've been to this restaurant a couple of years ago it's been a minute. I live in the area not to far from here now maybe like 15 minutes so I had to go back here and try something I didn't have before from here. First time I visited I got the Cayenne chicken with the mashed potatoes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's vallet parking here and the food is delicious and it's a bar for those who want to drink.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the shrimp rolls and a fried lobster tail and street corn and I received the complentary chips with salsa. I also got the chef's strawberry cheesecake and I tried the chocolate mousse for dessert. I ate some food for dinner and I saved the rest for breakfast on 1-2-2026. Pull up and check them out. Sadly they are closing on 1-31-2026.

I've been coming here for 25 years on and off and recently started back. The restaurant was slammed and Justin did a great job putting up with us! Everything was 10/10. Solid authentic restaurant with amazing margaritas. Sad to see them go!

The restaurant was great. The ambiance was fun and romantic. The food was good. I had the chicken soup and the gulf shrimp. The service was top notch. I came in with some friends. It was the restaurant 25th anniversary.

It's been once three years since I've been in Georgia. I have always wanted to try this place. Never thought I could afford it. Today I had dinner with one of my friends from my neighborhood and it was a lovely experience. Let's start with complementary valet and a warm welcome when I walked in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are three cool rooms in this establishment one with the Bar and two other ones to Jason for dining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were in the flat room which was nice and cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was lively and everyone seems to be out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All the plates came out quick and the food looks amazing. I ordered the Caesar salad that I've been craving and haven't found a good one yet for now and the quesadilla. The Dino sitting suggested the blunt orange margarita Which sounded delicious, but it lacked luster. Very watery and barely taste it like a margarita. I should've stuck with my traditional margarita or just a couple shots tequila instead. All the food was yummy ! Our servers name I can't remember maybe her name is Brianna ? She was amazing. Food came out fast. The quesadillas for room temperature, but yet delicious. The homemade hot sauce was Tasty not very hot at all. An overall great experience !! Next time I will definitely try that fried chicken. It looks amazing. I just wasn't hungry enough!

Agave Restaurant is located in Cabbage Town at 242 Blvd SE Atlanta, GA 30312 This is a family owner established. On 7/6/2024 Health Score is 89 = B Our servers were Anderson and Helena they both were very, very, very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. We ordered the Watermelon Margarita, the Enchiladas and the Rio Grande Burrito. The food was seasoned well and so delicious. The presentation was also very nice. The restaurant ambiance was a little dark for me. But the overall vibe offered music piping through the speakers and a cozy feeling. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my family and friends. It's was the Rio Grande Burrito for me.

Enchiladas

The hidden gem of cabbagetown! I really should make a weekly reservation at this point. The food is so ridiculously good. Chips and salsa come but don't fill up... save room for dinner. The enchiladas are the same price as a burrito at any local chain... so it's a no brainer for us! And service is always so friendly. And personal. You leave feeling like family. The outside front is great for a cocktail (car and people watching). i wish they'd have dinner service on those patio tables!!! Oh and the spicy pb pie isn't overly spicy and a great dessert selection!

Dessert Sampler

Dinner with friends for a birthday and it's a Saturday night. Luckily we have a reservation and we are sat right away! Chips and salsa to start and I enjoyed my Peachtree Margarita! There were 9 of us and our server, James, took care of us well! Ask for him! Almost all of us got the Medallions - but all a little different! It was quite tasty and those onion rings - those alone should be a side or an app, YUM! We also got the dessert sampler (we were celebrating a birthday after all)! And it was so good! I would take the strawberry compote from the cheesecake and put it on the peanut butter pie - DEEEEELICIOUS! Highly recommend!

Agave has been one of myfavorite spots for a while. They fell off for a bit; I had two not-so-great experiences there, but after some time, I tried them again. I was quite excited and hopeful for a great experience.  The service was good, and the vibe of the place is always cozy and warm. The chips and salsa were good. I ordered the chicken dish with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. I also had the fried lobster tail as an appetizer. I also tried the street corn, not the cob. The fried lobster tail was amazing. It was seasoned so well and fried perfectly. The collard greens and macaroni and cheese were pretty good too. The chicken was fried well, but it did lack flavor. All that flavor that was packed into the lobster tail just for the chicken to lack at least half as much flavor That was really the only disappointment; I wish the chicken carried more flavor, but it was fried well and a nice size.

No need for a knife with the short ribs. So tender you could use a spoon to pull it apart.

Overpriced and a strange menu selection. I ordered a taco dish off the menu and was given what appeared to be a burrito.

Ask the Community - Agave Restaurant

Hi! Is takeout available this weekend?

Sorry, no. We have decided to solely focus on the sold out restaurant as our small kitchen can’t handle both in the final two days.

I forgot to book a reservation? Do we HAVE to have one for a party of 4? Hoping to get in once more before they close.

Yes Ma’am. Agave is sold out until the first week of January. Thanks so much!

Can I tap to pay?

Yes, at the terminal with a server. Thanks so much!

What's the dress code like?

Casual

Is outside seating available?

No. There's "patio" dining, but it's still indoors with open air ceilings around its walls borders. This area is very cool, because of the open air wall borders, and above head ceiling fans. It's really nice. It feels like an adobe.

Can they accommodate a party of 20?

This isn't a very roomy restaurant. Most of the seating spaces are rather close/tight. If I took a guess, I would say probably not comfortably.

Is there a Happy Hour here?

Yes, at the bar - which had limited seating.

I'm taking my girlfriend for her birthday is it better to sit outside or upstairs?

Depends on if it's you and her , if it is upstairs will be kool but I also like the patio as well.

10 out of 10 recommend!…read more From the moment we arrived, the host team took such great care of us. We were there celebrating our engagement, and they made it feel so special by decorating our table with rings and confetti to celebrate our love. Our server gave us so much attention and made the experience feel personal. Since it was our first time there, they took the time to walk us through some of the best items on and off the menu, and shared their favorite dishes. Everything was done with care. The restaurant was clean, the bathroom was amazing, and the food was worth every dollar. The short rib was so tender, and the New York strip was seasoned to perfection and cooked medium well just how we like it. The twice-baked potato loaded with bacon, sour cream, chives, and cheese was delicious, and the mac and cheese was so good. I also appreciated that they allowed me to order it without the roasted saltine crackers. I can't wait to visit again!

I checked upstairs and there was not a single group of color in the main dining room. Coincidence???

I also enjoyed the pulpit, thought it had a nice char to it and a good flavor. I really enjoyed my pork belly tacos! Right when we walked in, the staff complained to us that we hadn't called ahead to have a "smaller, special menu" crafted for a large party. To make matters worse, they loudly announced to the whole table right off rip that they wouldn't split checks separately--only an even split. It felt incredibly rude, lazy, and unwelcoming. The irony is that the large group size wasn't even an issue; we staggered our arrivals and the patio was completely empty. The kicker- my brother in law ended up paying the whole tab at the end anyways! so all of that initial laziness & nastiness for NOTHING! Throughout the night, the service felt incredibly rushed and stressed. While we were still eating our appetizers, the busser was aggressively trying to clear our plates because the mains were coming. Our server was very short with us the entire time, which was confusing because the restaurant didn't even have a stressful vibe. She recommended a main dish to me that I really didn't care for, though I will say the salsa was unique and probably the best part of the meal. Shoutout to the one staff member who was actually friendly, but overall, this is not the kind of place where you leave feeling like you had a nice restaurant experience- at least I personally didn't.. Too bad we didn't just go to C&S next door which we always love. Regardless tho, my sister had a blast, but that's entirely because she has a wonderful crew of great friends, not because of Casi Cielo.

Combined with the exceptional service and beautiful ambiance, the experience left a lasting impression and made me want to return for another try. That opportunity came this past Sunday. I originally planned to stop in for a drink and the bread service, but my boyfriend and I ended up ordering the Caesar salad and the Lobster Risotto as well. The bread service was just as amazing as I remembered. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed the Caesar salad, especially the freshly grated cheese, which he said was incredibly light and airy. As for the Lobster Risotto, it exceeded my expectations in both flavor and portion size. The risotto itself was somewhat mild on its own, but once I mixed in the herb butter, it became absolutely delicious. The lobster itself was very tender and tasty, I loved it. I've officially fallen in love with Marcel and will definitely be adding it to my list of go-to dinner spots. The bread service, ambiance, interior design, and customer service are all outstanding. Late post‍ I was taken here for my birthday which fell on a…read moreWednesday. Valet parking. Dress code..... enforced by a fault( till they didn't want it to apply) on this day. My date had on a baseball cap...told it was not permitted, fine he took it back to the vehicle. Then told we could not be seated because he had on basketball shorts(he did not) they were white linen shorts by Lacoste and a Gucci Polo shirt. Nothing was said about his shoes just the shorts. So I asked, since it wasn't crowded outside(only two people) can we be seated out there.... which was where we wanted to be seated anyway. They finally agreed to that. Once we got over this hurdle... it was up from there! Welllll one big thing slightly angered, more so disappointed me... I'll get into that later. The patio seating was nice, nothing extravagant, pretty comfortable. The outside bar area was nice. Our waiter was such a gentleman, really nice, attentive, all around good service...hate I can't remember his name‍ Now the reason for a truly decent review: food... Cocktails: Kentucky Mules and French Connections APPETIZERS: Oyster Rockefeller and Roasted Bone Marrow SALAD: Baby Iceberg Wedge SIDES: Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Garlic Spinach, and Lobster Mac & Cheese Stars of the show: Lamb Porterhouse and Ribeye-aged 35 days Everything was delicious.... well my date wasn't crazy about the Bone Marrow(lol) By the time we got to our main course, we had gotten pretty full, so we didn't eat much. Y'all why we(he) forgot our foodit was on the table before I went to the restroom, when I returned it was gone.... I would say him and the waiter had the food under control..... sooooo who left the food?(I was the birthday girl) We did have a few bites of everything so we, had the memories of how delicious the main course was. There restroom was clean and spacious we know this is important Now let's get into my problem, disappointment, and slight anger.... I told y'all we weren't aloud inside because of the hat(he took off) and the shorts(they said basketball NOT) We're enjoying ourselves we here a little ruckus and see a small crowd... don't think much, besides saying, "well we know they'll be sitting outside with us if they stay". Glance over and see a few outside. Time passes, we see men with baseball caps, jerseys, t-shirts, and basketball shorts, come out to smoke....Oh no, I know good and well.... I go in to use the restroom, guess what I see inside.... everything that prevented us from being seated inside....The compliments I received saying how nice I looked, fell on deaf ears. Now don't get me wrong we wanted to be seated outside anyway, the problem was....the option to be taken away and seeing everything that prevented us was seen inside was a problem for me(remember they had to think about allowing us to sit out there). Mentioned what was seen to our waiter.... he says the manager or owner is from I believe Morocco or maybe Portugal and he was hosting them this evening. For us to still be there and being served, it was still business hours, so I hope y'all understand the problem I had..... The acceptance of the FIFI fans being in our city, who will eventually leave and we who will be here when there gone...WOW! I'll leave it all right there..... Just know this want be the location for us/me next time.
