My experience here was pretty good. The interior is aesthetic and also a good place to study or get some work done since there's outlets and wifi. There's also a parking lot outside.The service is great too, the baristas are pretty nice and polite. There's also a whole team of them, so they can get orders done in a relatively quickly fashion without sacrificing the quality of the food and beverages. I got the misugaru latte and it was not too sweet and creamy which I liked. I also got a toasted bagel with cream cheese, but I think they added some sweetness to the cream cheese which I was not a fan of, but still good nonetheless. A solid coffee shop! read more

During our visit to the city, we found this popular cafe and tried it, though it didn't quite meet our expectations. The Matcha Latte felt a bit diluted, and we found the pricing to be on the higher side. The bacon scone was okay, although it, too, was priced rather steeply for the quality and the size. The ambiance of the place was pleasant--comfortable and clean. However, we felt that the service could be improved. As first-time visitors, we had a few questions, but the staff member kept informing us that he would call our names when our drinks were ready instead of answering. I've been on a Korean café kick these days, and I headed to Alchemist Coffee Project (Vermont location) to try their drinks, particularly the matcha einspanner. Their matcha forest (einspanner plus espresso) caught my eye, so I ordered it with my croissant for an early-morning breakfast. To be honest, I wish I'd just ordered a matcha einspanner, as that's what I was looking for: the matcha forest was very espresso/coffee forward, and I barely tasted the matcha despite mixing the drink. Coffee flavor was good, but I was there for the matcha. Not bad, but not what I was expecting. I'll need to come back and properly try their matcha drinks. Hope to return soon! read more

Completely forgot to check in earlier but here is my second venture of another iced lavender matcha latte! Oof, it was a good one too. Not too sweet but a little too much ice. Still delicious though and would recommend. However......... the star of this brunch was the specialty kimchi avocado toast! It killed me a moment that it was a $15 toast but hear me out, this toast was everything good in absolutely all the right bites. Appetizing and satisfying every tastebud you could imagine. A crunch and a full blown savory taste that I had to force myself to slow down to enjoy it a little longer. It has been a minute since a bite was this memorable and it was very unsuspecting. Which tend to be the greatest finds. I didn't even do my research for this one but picked what I picked for whatever reason and if I'm being honest, I will brave a drive through the 110 to eat this again. Yes, it was pretty damn good and if I had to recommend something so early in the new year, it would be this solid and exquisitely mouthwatering piece of toast. And if you don't know alchemy is turning something ordinary into something extraordinary.. So I do think this kimchi avocado toast is a great example that fits the name of its place! I was in LA for work and the Alchemist Coffee Project was near the location I was assigned to for a few days. They had a large variety of pastries and some general breakfast items. I had the iced Spanish Latte, which was excellent...not to sweet and had a wonderful flavor. I also had the ham and cheese croissant. It was packed with flavor and really went well with the Spanish latte. The combination was so good, I had it two mornings in a row! The people working on both days provided quick and knowledgeable service. Because I was there right as they opened, the inside was pretty quiet. They had several tables though and seemed like it would be a great alternative to some other chain coffee places. If you're in K-Town, I highly recommend the Alchemist Coffee Project! read more

I've been wanting to try this place and finally went today. Parking situation was alright early in the afternoon. Ordered the crème brûlée latte and egg/ham/cheese croissant but with no ham. The cashier thought it was soooo odd that I got no ham. He questioned it and was giggling at the request, as if it was unheard of. LA is full of kosher, halal, and vegetarian people. I didn't see what was so amusing. He also let me know it's the same cost- which I hate when businesses do. Because if I added anything you'd charge me several dollars extra but removing the most costly ingredient in the sandwich keeps the cost the same. Nonetheless the sandwich was alright. A wonderful coffee shop amongst a few other businesses. The inside isn't too big but also not too small, about in the middle. Seems like a calm/chill atmosphere to do some work or vibe in. Service was pretty good but nothing I could write home about simply because we got our drinks to-go. Misugaru latte is very creamy with a good balance of sweetness and coffee. The grains do give the drink more texture, which is something I don't mind. I very much enjoyed it! I didn't take a picture but we also purchased their chocolate chunk cookie. It was average. I appreciated the fact that it wasn't overly sweet but I'm not sure I got that much flavor from the chocolate chunks themselves. The crispy edges of the cookie were nice and richly butter flavored though! I'd probably pass on the cookie next time and would try one of their other treats. We ordered three drinks and it only took about 8 minutes for them to come out. It's pretty spacious inside; we came on a Saturday at 1:30pm and we found seats easily. I looked up this coffee shop as we were getting ready to leave Los Angeles for the day. At first, I wasn't going to go because it wasn't in the immediate direction of where we were headed, but my husband knows how much I love a cute coffee shop so he told me we should take advantage of being down there. I'm glad we did! I ordered a latte and he had a drip coffee. My latte was creamy and the balance of milk to coffee ratio was absolute perfection. There was a slight bitterness, but not the acidity that ruins coffee flavor. My husband said his coffee was smooth. The team members that were working for polite, and the Viber the space is pretty cool too. The only downside is the parking lot is atrocious to get in and out of, thank goodness my husband was driving because I would've walked two blocks to get there instead of dealing with the crazy parking lot. read more

Hmm some things I liked about this spot and other things not so much. Tiramisu latte: silky with the light, house made tiramisu cream, but the coffee taste was surprisingly very faint. Didn't enjoy the drink enough to justify the premium price for it. Single origin pour over: the barista did a great job on it as it was super smooth! Should've asked about the particular bean origin because the drink had a pleasing slight fruity taste to it as well. Kimchi filled croissant: wasn't a fan as the kimchi was strikingly really salty. Matcha donut: could've had a stronger matcha taste but that's really more of a nitpick. Was spongy-soft and made a nice complement to the coffee. Chill lounge cafe vibes here. Great for studying/laptop-ing if you don't mind too much about the dim lighting (there are a few tables that are right up against the window with more natural lighting). read more

Wanted to get some coffee / dessert drinks after lunch at Kobawoo and so came by alchemist coffee! Drinks: -mint matcha latte: a fave and specialty of theirs that was popular and my friend got! Food: -now I'm not a sweet tooth person so i didn't get this but their little tiramisu cakes WERE SO CUTE!
