    Seafood pasta very small amount

We traveled from Virginia to celebrate my birthday in New York City and chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner because its Restaurant Week advertisement featured pasta prepared tableside in a cheese wheel. Unfortunately, our experience was nothing like what was advertised. The ambiance was nice, but the service was horrible from the beginning. The first server was rude when we mentioned that we were there for Restaurant Week and asked whether we had made a reservation. We told her that we had, and she walked away and never returned. Another server eventually came over. We asked if we could have some bread, and he said yes, but he never brought it. We were also given a completely different Restaurant Week menu from the $60 menu that had been advertised. When we asked about the cheese-wheel pasta, we were told it was only available on the regular menu. This felt like a bait-and-switch because the tableside cheese-wheel presentation was the main reason we chose this restaurant. The food we received was bland and not filling. To make matters worse, no one informed us that soda refills were not free. We were charged $8 for each refill--a total of $24. I came here expecting a special birthday dinner, but I left hungry, disappointed, and feeling as though we had wasted $199. Between the misleading advertisement, rude and inattentive service, unexpected charges, and bland food, this was an extremely disappointing birthday experience.

The interior is sexy, dramatic, and sleek. It's perfect for a girls night or pre-party dinner. We came for a girls night dinner and honestly my biggest complaint was how loud it was. If you want to catch up with friends or actually have a conversation, this is lowkey not the place for that. I started with the Kaiso Gimlet which was so well-made. All the flavors were well-incorporated and it was refreshing, light, and not sweet. Great for sipping! Most of the dishes we got were well-executed but some were just not worth the price (like the Fried Calamari). The standouts were the Tuna & Salmon Tartar (which by the way - the menu says $41 and we were charged $48) and all the Sushi Rolls. My favorite rolls were the Aburi Toro Roll & Salmon Scallop Roll. The Fiori Di Zucca was pillowy, creamy, and delicately battered! I liked the contrast in textures from the crispy exterior to the soft filling, to the rich parmesan cream. Even the Mafalde was good but just a bit too heavy. All in all, I like the Japanese/Italian concept and because the menu is so big, I would highly recommend coming in a group especially if you came to eat! Definitely worth trying once!

Absolutely loved Aqua! Went here for a girls nights and ambiance was absolutely beautiful. We had a super attentive waitress that made our entire experience great. I ordered the fried calamari and cacio pepe. The cacio pepe had such a fun presentation! I'll definitely be coming back to try some of the items on the Japanese menu.

I completely played myself coming here. Kinda ruined my night for valentines. If you have money to blow just because you're bored, I'd recommend here. I should've know the portion sizes were gonna be smaller than canned food for $35+ each. But what made it worse was with my allergy to eggs, my options were very limited and the chefs were no longer able to make noodles that I was able to eat, forcing me to order something $20 more expensive. Dont get me wrong, the space looked amazing visually and our server was cool but the best part of my experience was the soju and appetizer. The appetizer came with more food than the entree. We literally made a joke saying what if they come out with a single beef rib for $50 and thats exactly what happened. The rib tasted like regular meatloaf. Definitely would not come back.

I honestly wish my first experience here was not on Valentine's Day , this review is so over due but I'm going to comment bc I know and see the potential of the food on the menu and I know I go back I will have a better dining experience , I personally don't like going out on Valentine's Day especially when they have pre existing dining menu for a day but my s/o really wanted to surprise me since I spoke about wanting to go here , the restaurant is absolutely magical and beautiful and the service was ehhh but I do also understand it was Valentine's Day and how busy it was how we for the price a lot of things that happened were unacceptable . I must have asked several time to my waitress for a new utensil she passed by and kept asking the tables next to me if everything was alright and if she can help them but I had asked twice if I could please have a new fork bc mine had fallen on the floor and she just simply Forgot till I asked someone else and he grabbed in not even one foot away from me -.- ..... I let it go because again hey it's V day there is probably a lot going on especially behind the scenes , the presentstion of the food was exquisite but the food was horrible aside from the tartar meh options which are obvious they are and will be served cold and raw the raviolo was absolutely gross it was cold like if it sat for an hour and was tasteless the only thing I honestly enjoyed was the fried artichoke and I wish I could have just ate that , I didn't eat much but I made due with my time and appreciated being out and able to get a table like I said I wish my first experience wasn't that day but it was I would like to go back to see if I can have a better experience w service and food but I do not recommend any holiday please do not do it I wanted more on the aqua Roma side but the menu for both aqua Roma. And aqua Kyoto was combined so I had no choice w the food options

Went to aqua again with a group of friends and did not disappoint ! I love the flavors and blends of Japanese and Italian in this restaurant. One person in our group did not care too much for Japanese food, which is why the Italian menu was perfect. So I ordered a blend of both worlds ! Only thing to note is that if you make a reservation at Aqua Kyoto there is No Italian menu!! I did not know this. But the host was able to change our reservation to the Roma side which I was happy about ! Will absolutely be back!

I think this restaurant is beautiful, and that's just about it. I wish I had a better food experience here. I don't mind paying for good food, but the food here was not it. The blandness of the dishes was disappointing. I came here for a friend's birthday expecting a great meal, but it turned out to be below average. The waiter was great, but I came here for the food.

Super sexy spot perfect for a date night, girls night out or a big celebration. Portions are average and plated beautifully. Service was a bit slow when we went but it's not a place where you want to be in and out of. On saturdays they have a DJ too. Perfect clubby dinner without the noise being unbearable

Great happy hour spot- ambience is so inviting with a posh bar, fun atmosphere, beautiful rope feature and cool lighting. Coat check was available, such a nice touch. Happy hour combo for $20 includes any cocktail + featured food on the bar menu. Negroni and Spicy Tuna Maki Roll for $20? Sign me up! Cocktails and food came out quickly and tasted delicious. My coworkers also tried the combo with crispy chicken kaarage and the calamari. Great deal if sharing too! Definitely recommend Aqua. Hopefully can drop by for dinner next time.

gorgeous interior for japanese-italian food! I unfortunately did not takeaway a strong sense of fusion between these two cuisines -- but I thought the Japanese food was delicious! I especially enjoyed the fresh sushi and tempura -- and they had a white fish that was actually the best i've ever had (even better than nobu, IMO). service was fast. it was a very large space, including a private area on the second floor for events. it was pretty empty when I went for lunch, though.

Chic flatiron spot. Good for happy hour, girls night out, group gathering etc. Staff very friendly and attentive. My drink pretty tasty love anything with passionfruit Had the lobster pizza not bad. Had a slight bitter taste in the crust. Main reason for my trip the oxtail malfadina. Yummy and enjoyable If area stop in and check out.

Celebrated a friends birthday here and we had an amazing experience! Aqua is HUGE and stunning! The decor and ambiance in here is beautiful! I love the really big bar and its decor. We had amazing service from Sophiia Ivanna D. She really went above and beyond to ensure we had a great evening. We wanted to do the "KYOTO TO ROMA SIGNATURE" which is a prefixed menu for $98 per person, but it's served by every two people and it was only 5 of us. Once she explained that we said it was okay and would just go a la carte, but she was adamant she would speak to the owner or manager to see if they would make an exception to accommodate our odd number group, and she was successful. The food and drinks were great! They have some really nice cocktails. I don't think we had a bad drink, though they weren't very strong. The food all came out hot and fresh. They were sure to stagger each course/serving so it wouldn't be sitting and we had time to enjoy and savor each dish., especially because we ordered extra items from the a la carte menu. The only dish from the KYOTO TO ROMA SIGNATURE menu that we didn't like was the Jalapeño miso marinated char-grilled baby chicken. It was very bland and lacked flavor, also the chicken could've been cooked a little more.

First proper meal during my 2 week stay. I was walking around with no particular destination looking for 2 things: 1 a tattoo spot and somewhere to eat before getting a tattoo. I was right across the street at the very moment before I hit hangry vibes. I looked across and saw their giant front door so I decided to mosey over. It was a vibe in there. Bless their ac for blasting at full setting. It was hotter than hell outside. I was told the bar was open so I took an empty spot that overlooks the main dining area. One of the bartenders came over to take my drink and food order. He came back a couple minutes later to confirm my drink and get my food order again since he forgot what I had asked for. There were 3 other couples dining at the bar area, but we had way more than enough space separating us that we didn't have to make small talk. My drinks (2) were super refreshing. I started off with the spritz and ended with the red flag. The salt in the second drink was such a nice touch. The spicy tuna was great. And it was included in the happy hour menu. As was the arancini that came first.

The menu has plenty of variety across pastas, seafood, and cocktails, with some unique dishes that made the experience memorable. The drinks were a highlight, and the seafood options stood out the most for me. My Tipsy Tayke: The Fragola Fizz was juicy, fruity, and refreshing. The Forever Summer was another standout, with the smokiness of the mezcal blending really well with the fruit flavors without overpowering them. Both are easy recommendations depending on whether you want something fruity or a little more complex. My Taysty Tayke: Get Down & Dirty, Expeditiously: Seafood Ravioli Unique, flavorful, and packed with different seafood flavors. The ravioli itself was delicate and had a tendency to fall apart, but the flavor made up for it. Standout: Calamari Crispy, seasoned, and enjoyable. It had a slightly chewy texture, but I still found myself going back for more. The Carpaccio wasn't necessarily for me texture-wise, but I really enjoyed the greens and dressing that accompanied it. The garnish felt intentional and helped bring the dish together. The Pappardelle came with plenty of sauce but could have used more flavor overall. The complimentary bread was also tougher and chewier than I prefer. Desserts: The Lemon Sorbet was easily my favorite dessert. Bright, refreshing, and packed with real lemon flavor. The Mango Sorbet was another refreshing option with a smooth tropical sweetness. The Panna Cotta Cheesecake leaned closer to a mousse in texture and was definitely on the sweeter side. I especially enjoyed it with the cherry, which helped balance everything out. Service: Warm and attentive throughout the meal, fitting the inviting atmosphere. Plates From My Visit: Calamari Carpaccio Seafood Ravioli Pappardelle Lemon Sorbet Mango Sorbet Panna Cotta Cheesecake Fragola Fizz Forever Summer In Conclusion: A warm Chelsea Italian spot with strong cocktails, unique seafood dishes, and refreshing desserts. The Seafood Ravioli was the highlight of the savory side, but whatever you do, save room for that Lemon Sorbet. Stamped by Elajas

This was enough for both of us as we got a couple servings of the house bread. We then got to our main courses. While she got her seafood, I got the TORTINO DI MELANZANE. When we entered the restaurant and took the elevator up to the restaurant, we were delighted to find free wine provided for us to pour in the elevator. Admittedly, it was red wine, so not my favorite, and it did taste cheap, but still appreciated. To start off, we ordered the onion torta, focaccia, and smashed potatoes. The onion torta was surprisingly good and tasted like a form of french onion soup. As a focaccia enthusiast, the focaccia was fluffy and delicious. We also got the charred beans, carrots, ravioli, tagliatelle, ravioli, and trout to share. The charred beans were surprisingly the long beans and not the smaller ones we expected. However, they were very juicy and better than we thought they would be. The rigatoni resembled cacio e pepe with its pepperiness, the tagliatelle tasted like standard red sauce, but i did enjoy the ravioli and the ricotta inside. For dessert, we had the basque cheesecake which was alright, but I'm not the biggest fan of cheesecake. Overall, we had a great time at Ci Siamo and I would definitely recommend ordering the focaccia and onion torta and we could have skipped the carrots, beans, trout, and tagliatelle.

Instinctively I took a piece of that in to my mouth first and was met with the most rancid tasting cheese ever. The cheese was definitely not fresh and had a terrible smell on the outside. I moved this to the side to try the pasta which was honestly forgettable. There simply was not enough basil pesto in the dish, the sauce fell flat on taste and seasoning was nearly absent. The side of broccoli rabe was also so bad and forgettable. The stems were tough to chew, there was no salt and not a single speck of garlic in this dish. This is one of the priciest, grossest plates of pasta and vegetables I have ever had in the city. My friend ordered the eggs Florentine and said it was A-okay. Service was good and food came out on time but honestly I would not dine here again. They really need to step up their food quality if they want to continue doing business in the city.

The food though...was alright, Their fresh made bread with olive oil was delicious and a nice starter. The calamari was lackluster and lowkey tasted frozen vs home made. The meatballs for $18 was insane because the meatballs were literally bite sized! When it came out we were actually shocked. The pastas were tasty and flavorful though! We do wish it came with protein for the price, but it was still solid.

Are you going to the Joyce for a wonderful evening of dance ?…read more Do you prefer a location close by ? Is inexpensive Italian food a preferred choice ? If you answered "yes" to all three, then Fumo is a place to seriously consider. The restaurant is bright and comfortable. The service is fast and attentive. The menu has lots of excellent choices. The portions are generous. The prices are very reasonable. There you go ! Fumo is for you, (at least the Chelsea location) is for you. Any drawbacks ? youi ask.....well, yes, there is one, and it should be cosnidered. The restaurant is so so so popular that the noise level can be a bit ..... shall we say "daunting." Fumo is a great place but if you want a soft, quiet place to have a serious conversation, maybe save it for another time....

This means those dishes aren't truly gluten free for people with celiac disease or anyone who has to avoid gluten. When I pointed that out to my server, he just gave me a blank stare. I tried to explain why labeling those items as gluten free is misleading, but he seemed completely disinterested, even annoyed, dismissed what I was saying, and simply responded that the pasta is gluten free. I acknowledged that the server doesn't write the menu, but absolutely zero customer service skills. The service overall was lacking. Aside from taking our order, no one checked on us or came back to see if we needed anything. Our server was just hanging out chatting up the hostess. We had to request the bill from the manager & paid at the hostess stand. Before paying, I spoke with the manager and explained what had occured. He was more professional than the server, but he was still dismissive of my concerns and of the service we received. Management seemed happy enough to promote the "option". The food was okay, definitely not enough to make up for the poor service and handling of a serious dietary issue. Needless to say I will not be returning.

The interior was completely packed, and the noise level was high enough for my smart watch to complain. To sample a bit of everything, we shared two orders of focaccia, four pastas, and one dessert. HOUSE-MADE FOCACCIA - 10 Super bouncy with a bit of chew, this was probably the best focaccia I've ever eaten. It came generously drizzled with olive oil and alongside chopped peppers drenched in even more olive oil, which added a nice little kick. We highly recommend starting with this. TAGLIATELLE - 27 Out of the four pastas, this was my absolute favorite. I love the thin yet chewy texture of the tagliatelle, and the bolognese sauce was rich and hearty. Finished with just the right amount of Parmigiano, both the pasta texture and sauce were sheer perfection. PICI 'CACIO E PEPE' - 23 This was such a simple pasta, yet so delicious. It was incredibly creamy and cheesy, with hints of fresh black pepper flavor that blew standard at-home black pepper grinders out of the water. Despite it being the simplest pasta of the night, I enjoyed it immensely. RIGATONI - 32 This pasta was simple yet slightly innovative, featuring sausage paired with a broccoli-based pesto. There was a slight bitterness that was polarizing among our group. While this wasn't my favorite pasta, I appreciated the creativity. PERCIATELLI NERO - 35 This dish packed in more components than just pasta and sauce: plenty of crab, tomatoes, and crispy breadcrumbs on top. However, the combination wasn't very memorable. None of the flavors really stood out, and it was my least favorite pasta of the night. OLIVE OIL CAKE - 14 Served with a pile of golden raisins and fancy whipped cream, this ended up being a bit of a miss. The raisins were a bit too sweet, and the cake's texture was uneven -- some bites were soft and moist, while others felt dry. A couple of others in my group also felt the same way. Overall, I'd give L'Artusi a 4.5/5; it was mostly hits with a couple of misses. The pasta portions are quite small. Since each dish is primarily carbs and sauce, I'd imagine you'll likely need an appetizer or a pasta and a half to leave full. Still, I'd definitely come back for the focaccia, tagliatelle, and the cacio e pepe.

Instead of simply confirming it, she made a comment like "you should know if you've been here before," which was unnecessary and pretty rude for such a basic question. It wasn't a busy‑restaurant kind of tone--it was just attitude. Not exactly the first impression you expect from a place that tries to present itself as polished. A quick, polite confirmation would've gone a long way, but instead it felt dismissive and unwelcoming. For a restaurant with their reputation, having someone speak to guests like that over a simple call really doesn't help the image.
