Stopped by for happy hour and got the sushi combo along with 2 orders of the red snapper. The red snapper was definitely the highlight, really fresh and flavorful. The rest of the sushi was good, but a lot of the pieces tasted pretty similar to each other. It was pretty empty when I went since it wasn't long after opening, and there was only one staff member who was also the sushi chef. Service wasn't bad, but I did feel like I had to flag him down a few times since he was rarely out on the floor. The space itself seems like it would be really cozy and fun during peak hours with the full bar atmosphere. Small and unassuming front on wilshire near the intersection with La Brea offering decent sushi and other Japanese dishes are very reasonable price prices. My family and I have come here a few times, they're happy hours are from 3 PM to 10 PM! A number of Rose, appetizers, and other items are on special pricing menu. On weekdays, there's usually very few other guests, so we get great service! I would say their sushi is at par with most other places nearby of similar price point. Because it's not a super popular joint, the dining environment is usually very quiet and pleasant. I think their best item is the rock 'n' roll, and the clam miso soup. Jessica albacore and baked salmon. Roll are also popular items. The cherry blossom roll is good too, but very similar to Jessica albacore, so if you order one, I wouldn't recommend ordering the other. I wouldn't say it is a spectacular place, but if you want a quiet dinner without breaking the bank, and you want sushi, this is a good choice. read more

I came looking for a happy hour and found this place on yelp. Its by wilshire and labrea cross streets. There are signs for free parking in the back but I grabbed a meter on the side. I came in around 5 and the place was empty. There was a guy sitting in the back, seems like he didn't know English The ambiance was weird, it was empty inside and he lingered at the bar until I turned around to signal him to take my order. I dont know, I was just ready to go. He took my order promptly and the hot sake for $6 was a good price. As I was looking at the menu, the older guy approached the table took them out of my hand and stacked them on the side. He did not say anything but i told him i was still looking. I then ordered the vegetable tempura and the Aloha roll. Vegetable tempura did not have much taste, I pretty much drenched it in the dipping sauce. Looking at the menu again, he walked up and grabbed them to stack on the side and im thinking dude, what is the deal. The Aloha roll fish was bland, not my favorite bite and Im sad I didnt go to another sushi spot. I had no desire to order anything further. Quick note, the drink specials depend on you buying food. I use to come here everyday cause I live in the area. And brought a lot of my friends. Until the worker asked me to get out of my bar stool seat that's first come first serve because the white lady next to me had a friend coming. I politely just left. I guess it's only first come first serve if you look a certain way. And that's terrible customer service to ask a customer to get up for a customer who is not even there. Especially when the worker set me there. Because it was an open seat the lady gave no indication that she was saving it until I sat down. read more

We got the Sapporo pitcher and sake combo, chefs choice sashimi combo, the Ariyoshi crunch roll, and the yellowtail collar. Aside from those items on the HH menu we also got a spicy tuna salad and sweet shrimp nigiri. More than enough for two people. Quite full actually. Writing this 5 star review for the $1 sake but honestly it's worth the 5 stars even if they didn't have that offer. Ambiance is fairly quiet.
