Soo popular even during a weekday theres a line. I think the wait took around 30 minutes and voicing others the drink does come out fast. Its a grab and go place, but theres just one little plaza parking which can be hard to have available spots sometimes. They handwhisk the matcha. The matcha is okay, Its not astrigent and bitter, but not high quality enough to drink plain with water and definitely suits more sweet drinks, has that milky texture with some savoury notes (matcha part just soso) The guava milk part of the drink was soo delicious and creamy, not sure how to put it but it was definitely my first time having like a guava custard flavored drink. So I'd recommend their mixed flavor drinks.
Ok so I've heard a lot of good things about this place so I was really excited to try it! It was such a tough decision choosing which matcha to order since they have so many different flavors, including guava and black sesame which both sound incredible! First off, I want to say that the service was great! 10/10! The people taking my order were so nice and they even brought my drink outside for me. I opted for the banana matcha because I love banana matcha and I've seen people post about it online. To be completely honest I thought it was just okay. I mean the matcha was good, but I actually didn't really like the banana foam by itself. For example, I love Taty's banana cream and could eat that stuff by the spoonful. However, when I mixed it in the matcha it tasted much better for some reason. The toffee bits also add a nice crunch. Overall I'd give it a 6.5/10. I'd definitely be willing to give Ayer another try before forming a conclusive opinion on their matcha. Their matcha quality is good, so I think I just need to try a different drink.
This place is definitely worth the hype! I ordered the Strawberry Matcha with Sea Salt Cream Foam and the Matcha Latte, and both were delicious. They were sweet, creamy, and had a rich matcha flavor without being overpowering. My favorite was the Strawberry Matcha--the flavors were incredibly well balanced. The fresh strawberry purée added a refreshing, natural sweetness that paired perfectly with the matcha and cream foam. I visited on a Sunday around 11 AM, and the line took about 30 minutes, but it was well worth the wait. The staff were super friendly, and once I ordered, the drinks came out quickly. I'll definitely be back!
If you see a line out the door, you're in the right place! Ayer can get pretty crowded on weekends, and the parking lot fills up fast. But the line moves pretty steadily! They only allow one party in the shop at a time. You order with one person, and then they send you to the cashier to pay. Once you place your order, the drinks come out pretty quickly. I love a good Blueberry Matcha, so I knew I had to try one. The matcha latte has oat milk and their house blueberry puree. I really enjoyed it! They also have their Matcha Lattes "One," "Two," and "Three." We opted for the Matcha Three which includes salted matcha vanilla ice cream and matcha sorbet, oat milk, and house vanilla syrup. It was pretty good! Lastly, we got the Coconut Pandan Green Rice drink which sounded unique! It's ice blended with coconut cream, pandan coconut rice, and condensed milk. It's a thicker drink with more texture from the rice. I'll be back!
I stopped by Ayer on a Sunday around 3:30 PM and there was a line as expected. It only looks long because the line starts out the door, with the inside of the shop having two stations: one station is to place your order and the other is to pay for your drinks. It's a small coffee shop and is more of a grab-and-go place. Despite how busy they get, the workers are very friendly and efficient. A male worker (who I believe was the owner) who was regulating the line was very kind and apologized about the wait. Shows the care that they have for their customers. I ordered the mango matcha, which are two of my favorite things. The flavors compliment each other well with a good balance between the two rather than one flavor overpowering the other. It reminded me of a mango lassi with a hint of matcha. The drink is overall very refreshing and smooth, and I would recommend it if you're looking to try a more unique matcha drink.
Blueberry matcha. That is it. Long line!!! but it goes by surprisingly fast. One thing I love is that they make sure that only one group is inside ordering at a time. Once indoors, you can see how they prepare their matcha in a big batch. Love that!! Hence why the line goes by so quickly. I also appreciate the Dairy warning sign on their menu. The person checking me out was such a sweetie. They asked about my weekend plans and sounded genuinely interested, Glad to see they keep a good attitude despite being so busy. Plenty of parking shared with surrounding shops. Would make the long drive to Irvine for this drink!!!!
Stopped by earlier today and there was a short line. Parking was easy since it's located in a plaza. Ordering and paying was nicely organized. Service was so friendly!!! I ordered the Matcha Two (less sweet + oat milk) and also purchased a 40 gram tin of their matcha. Once you're finished paying, you stand outside until they call you with your order. They called my name fairly quick and my drink was BEAUTIFUL. The color was a perfect shade of green. I have no notes (I'm a picky person when it comes to my matcha). 10/10!
One of the best matcha spots in OC! I arrived around 1:30pm on a Friday afternoon. I was able to fine parking quickly which was nice because it's a tiny parking lot. There was a long line in front of the store and waited in line for about 10-15 minutes. I was looking through the window and saw they hand whisked all of the matcha, which is why it takes a long time. They also had one person taking the orders and one person in charge of payment. They don't do online orders. It's also the place you grab and go since it's small inside with one bench. I got my drink 10 minutes after ordering. I ordered the matcha one which is just matcha with oat milk and less sweetness. I like that all their drinks have oat milk since I don't like paying extra for it. It was so good! The matcha flavor was definitely strong and goes well with the oat milk. Would definitely come back and bring a friend to show this place! :-)
Definitely the best Vietnamese coffee I've had, and I've tried a lot. The Salted Saigon had the perfect balance of flavors. My friend got the Coconut Matcha and it was surprisingly delicious too. The line looks intimidating but moved pretty fast -- about 20 mins when we went and totally worth it. Parking can be rough. Amazing service too, the ladies working there were so sweet and welcoming.
After having Ayer Coffee bookmarked for a while, I finally had the chance to try it out the other day. I pulled up around 9am and there was already a line of people waiting to order, which I thought meant their coffee/matcha drinks must be delicious and worth trying. And their matcha was worth it. The line went by fast, and the staff was so sweet. I got the Matcha One and a salt bread. The flavor of the matcha was so well-balanced. Not grainy at all and the color of the matcha was beautiful. Only thing is their drinks all include oat milk and there aren't alternative milk options, which I didn't realize until I was in line. I'm not the biggest fan of oat milk so that kinda affected my taste. However, the salt bread was really good! Buttery, soft, and not too salty. Because of my aversion to oat milk, I probably won't be back. But I will definitely recommend this spot to people that don't mind oat milk!
Always a line outside this cafe and totally deserved. I usually opt to get their matcha one but this time tried their coconut water matcha cream top and loved how refreshing it was! I'm not the biggest fan of matcha cream tops as they tend to be overly sweet but this one had a perfect balance. Also pro tip if you buy one of their matcha tins you get a free drink with the order!
Ayer Coffee was so yummy! Ordered the coconut water matcha cream and strawberry matcha and both were really good -- but the coconut water matcha was my personal favorite. Perfect balance of coconut water and matcha, not too sweet, just really well done. Easily my favorite version of this drink so far. The strawberry matcha was also good -- loved that they use fresh strawberry puree, it adds a natural sweetness that doesn't overpower the matcha. The matcha quality overall is solid. Heads up that it's a small spot with a line that goes outdoors, but on a weekday it moved pretty quickly. Staff is super friendly, and chats with you a bit. Can't wait to go back!

They also sell Korean salt bread in limited quantity, so come early before it sells out. *** Signature Korean Salt Bread (Limited Daily - $4.50): A bit cold but tasted good. Mango Matcha (Made with oat milk & mango purée - $7.50): I see the appeal - the drink was quite good. The matcha did not taste overly diluted and the sweetness level was solid. *** Overall this is a 5-star-worthy matcha shop in Orange County.
My friend has been wanting to try this place for so long, and we finally had the chance to go. When I first got there on a Saturday around 10:30am, the line was already super long. They let 1 customer in one at a time to order, which was probably why the line was long. However, we didn't have to wait too long to get our drinks. Their Matcha 2 is so good! It's so rich, and not too sweet for me. I came around after lunchtime and there was a line. And I think this place always has line so just be prepared. There's plenty of parking in the plaza though and there's like little shops around the area too. They have small menus, so it's easy to decide and the staff is knowledgeable to recommend based on your liking. Can't wait to be back! Honestly I've been on a strawberry latte kick and it's been my mission to try all the ones in the area. This is hands down the best one I've had, not even lying. The purée is soo good! Wow, just wow. The mango matcha here is definitely a must try for any matcha lovers in OC. I would put it on par with the likes of Airoma for fruity matcha drinks. We were served our drinks relatively quickly, the shop is quite small and there's only seating for waiting. On the weekends and during peak hours, the line can get quite long so I would call in advance if that's a concern for you. The mango puree in the drink is noticable and goes well with the matcha. I really enjoyed the taste of this drink at 75% sweet and am definitely coming back for more! read more

Solid matcha... My friend swooped us drinks before our day at the beach, and I opted for the banana matcha. This is probably the first banana matcha I've had where the banana flavor wasn't artificial tasting, which I appreciated. Didn't enjoy this in there, so I can't speak to the service or ambiance, but will try another drink when I'm in the area. read more
Pulled up to Ayer during lunch and waited about 15 minutes to order. The casually stylish girlies had a matcha craving all at the same time apparently. Lots of workers in such a small space and they're working their tail feathers off! It's a grab and go place so no room for studying or chit chatting. I've tried most of the drinks and they're honestly all good but the blueberry can get stuck in your teeth. A little late on the review for Ayer, but visited a little bit after the initial traction the cafe was getting when it first opened. I arrived a little bit before noon and the line wasn't too bad. The staff was very sweet, as I only waited about 10-15 mins to order but different staff came out and thanked me for waiting in line although I really didn't wait long. It's a pretty small cafe with no tables, so all you could pretty much do is order and then stand outside and wait till they called you. I ordered the mango matcha and the matcha two, which I absolutely loved the mango matcha as it had both puree and mango juice. The matcha two fell a bit short for me, but it might just be because I was expecting a more deeper matcha flavor. It was lighter despite it seeming otherwise. Was in the OC area and craving matcha, so we decided to try this spot. It's relatively small inside, but the vibe was cute and cozy. The staff was really friendly and seemed to work well together. The matcha was really good, not too sweet, not overly milky, and not bitter. My boyfriend tried the blueberry matcha and surprisingly it didn't taste syrupy or artificial at all. It had a really fresh blueberry flavor without that candle-like taste some places have. We actually finished our drinks before we even left the plaza, which says a lot because we usually take forever to finish drinks. Definitely a solid matcha spot. read more

Fantastic place for an unique coffee. Went here for coffee to wake myself up before training in the area. Big & easy finding parking. The place is small since majority of space inside is for preparing coffee and others. There is a line outside that have to wait til the inside (order area) is or are (2 registers, order & pay) available. After ordering you have to wait outside for the orders once it completed, they will bring it out to you by calling your name. It's easy and fast and the menu is simple. The place is clean and organized, the staff are friendly and helpful. The coffee is fantastic and well prepared. You can tasted with care and well make to your liking. Really enjoyed it a lot. There is not really seat for dine in, it's for to go only. read more

Make sure you don't go at peak hours if you hate waiting (lunchtime). I got the Banana coffee and the Salted Saigon Drip. I loved the almonds and toffee combo of topping on the banana coffee I'd rate my coffee a solid (8/10) I do wish it had more banana in it. The Saigon was about a (7/10) it had lots of different notes but I would say it tastes like coffee and chocolate. read more
Definitely an order and go coffee place. There is no seating inside. A line starts outside the building prior to you making your order. Luckily when I went, the lines were not very long, but it seems like it can be busy at peak hours. Parking in the area is also limited. There were a few items on the menu that I wanted to try but my friend recommended the Matcha 2 - which had salted matcha vanilla cream. Loved it! Come get your matcha fixxxx. They got three different levels and I enjoyed the matcha 2. Probably going to be a long line but they keep it moving. Matcha 2: Gettt We actually subbed the vanilla syrup for normal syrup and it was so gooodddd. It wasn't too sweet by default and it was so light and creamy still. There's hella other coffees which all sounded good so I'm excited to come back and try the other ones too. They ran out of salt bread when we were there so we were sad :( There's almost no room inside and the line is wrapped around the outside. With around 8ish people in line I waited maybe 15 minutes? Space is quite limited inside so there is always a line out the door. This is definitely a grab and go spot as there is no room inside to hang out. The staff is very friendly every time and they are always hard at work hand whisking matchas. The matcha here is strong, smooth and delicious. You can't go wrong with any of their matchas. My go-to is the coconut water matcha; it's light and refreshing! The only thing I hate about this place is the awful parking lot. It's very small and always full :( read more

Tried this matcha spot with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. It definitely delivered. I really appreciate that they let you adjust the sweetness level, so I opted for less sugar, and it came out perfectly balanced. I ordered the Matcha One latte with oat milk, and it was honestly so smooth. The matcha itself had a strong, rich flavor without being bitter, and the oat milk complemented it really well. You can tell they don't hold back on the matcha either. I definitely felt the caffeine kick in, which I love. Just a heads up, the space is very small with no table seating, so it's more of a grab and go kind of spot. With that said, the staff was efficient and quick, keeping things moving even in a tight space. Overall, a solid matcha spot if you're looking for quality and a good caffeine boost. Ayer Coffee in Tustin is a matcha lover's dream! We tried the Matcha 2 and the Coconut Water Matcha, and both were seriously delicious--smooth, flavorful, and refreshing. Parking is pretty manageable, though just a heads-up, there's no seating inside. But the staff made the experience extra fun--they even gave us a cute orange bag for our cupholder, which was such a thoughtful touch! We went on a Sunday morning and waited in a long line (~30 minutes). I didn't realize this place was in its soft opening phase, new/trending; I just picked it because it was the closest spot (there doesn't seem to be many in the Tustin/North Irvine area) that had matcha. Space is really small. Only standing room inside to order. No tables outside, we sat on the ground. Parking in the plaza fills up. Ordered the Matcha One, Matcha Two, and the iced Coconut Coffee. Unfortunately, the matcha was not good. It didn't have the earthy taste and I don't like oat milk in my matcha because it's too sweet. The coffee seemed solid. Strong taste. As for the salt bread... apparently it's super popular since everyone in line was buying a ton of it. I decided to try it, and I didn't like it. It tasted bland and wasn't fluffy at all, more like a dry dinner roll. Maybe I just don't know what I'm supposed to appreciate about it. Best matcha spot in OC hands downnnnn. I've tried at least 5 drinks from here and they are all soooo good. My fav is the matcha 2, but their mango and banana matcha is also a MUST!!! Line gets long but once you get inside the service is super fast & the staff is all so kind. I also like buying the matcha tins to make at home! UPDATE: I tried their salt bread at their grand opening and everyday I've gone after, they've been sold out. Finally came today at 9am and it was sold out LMAO I'm sadddd I wish they had more to get throughout the day! read more

Located in a small strip mall. parking was a bit difficult mostly cause it's just so busy and parking isn't huge. Came here on a Sunday afternoon about 2pm. Line was a ways out the door, about a couple businesses down. It was not a fast moving so I was hoping this place was worth the hype. From wait time to actually getting our order, it was about 45 mins! So, verdict...? 1. Coconut Pandan Green rice- 4 stars -not overly sweet, you taste the pandan, mellow coconut and surprisingly, rice bits. It was a blended drink that was refreshing but not sure if it'd be something would could drink fully. But overall nice surprise, felt like a light dessert. 2. Salted Saigon - 5 stars - if I were to come here again, this would be my go to. I loved the rich creaminess of it that balanced the coffee. 3. Banana coffee- 3 stars - I'm I huge banana coffee lover but this was a bit of a miss for me. You taste a nice fresh banana flavor, it just felt a bit heavy than refreshing. Overall my expectations were probably a bit higher considering the wait time and no online ordering option. I'm a matcha lover also but with the bountiful options of matcha places around Tustin / Irvine /costa Mesa, I'd choose another than waiting that long again. Drinks overall I'd give 4 stars but that wait is where I'd dock a star. Not worth it. read more
I've been wanting to try this cute cafe after seeing it trend on social media! I got the matcha two, which was pretty strong and creamy, though I think their vanilla cream and syrup overpowered the matcha flavor. I also felt the same way about the hojicha, it could have had a stronger tea flavor and less vanilla. I also got the salt bread, which came in a pretty big size and had a nice flaky salt on top. I wish they baked them more frequently, as I had to warm mine up in the microwave and the bottom could have been crispier. Since they are pretty new, the ordering system is a little complicated. The wait on weekends is always super long, so I would definitely wait for the hype to die down a bit before visiting. read more
I'm so sorry but this was such a disappointment :( Drove 40 min to try Ayer since we are big matcha and coffee fans & I was so disappointed! I thought I was going to love it. I ordered a blueberry coffee and it was undrinkable. It was overly sweet but also bitter. I think they use Vietnamese coffee but the blend of the default oat milk and blueberry syrup just didn't work for me at all. I couldn't even drink it :( I also tried the mango matcha & didn't care for it either. I think their drinks are very sweet especially with the added oat milk. I wish their default wasn't oat milk! TLDR: longest lines and $$$ but it's still the best matcha in oc Their triple matcha is the best matcha in OC and if that's too heavy, get the matcha one with a scoop of sorbet. They are in the shittiest mall, the lines can get astronomical, and it costs a kidney to come here regularly, but it's (unfortunately) worth it. See you next week Ayer.. read more
Totally worth getting in line! It moves fairly quickly. It's a grab and go type of spot as the shop is very small. You order, pay, and then wait for your drink outside. I got the mango matcha and was blown away! You'll love it if you like the sweet Asian mangos! Their drinks also come with oat milk as default. I also appreciated how they whisk their matcha in matcha bowls after you order! No premade drinks here! The workers were so sweet and helpful. Can't wait to come back to try other drinks! read more

The hype here is absolutely worth it! I have been here four times now, and I think the worst time to go is between 10AM and noon on the weekends. Any time earlier than that on the weekends or any weekday will have a much shorter line. Regardless, the line moves relatively fast, and the ordering process is relatively efficient, so I wouldn't let the line deter you too much from a delicious cup of matcha. I have ordered the Matcha 2, and the salted matcha cream top is the cherry on top of an already rich and deeply flavorful matcha latte. Getting it half sweet is perfect, and you can taste the umami and slight bitterness of the matcha. I have also tried the Salted Saigon, which is also indulgently delicious. The salted vanilla cream top cuts the strong Vietnamese coffee and balances it out perfectly. You order at a counter, then repeat your order to the cashier on the right side of the counter, who will ring you up. You also order the salt bread with the cashier. The salt breads sell out early for good reason! The buttery, salty crust that forms on the bottom of the bread roll is heavenly (I would recommend taking it home and heating it up in a toaster oven for maximal crunch). No seating inside, so be sure to find another place to enjoy your latte and bread! read more
Matcha Three is my favorite. It's matcha 3 ways of drink, foam, and sorbet. I've also had their coconut matcha and mango matcha. Everything I've ordered from here so far I've enjoyed. The workers are always very nice and smile. Lines can still be pretty long during peak times. The same can go for parking in the plaza. read more
Pretty solid matcha, doesn't taste watered down at all! However, there is a really long line and no seating. It's more of a grab and go place! I personally like a more sweeter vanilla cold foam rather than sea salt, but I still think it was a great matcha! There is parking but sometimes can get full. This one has been on my list for a while and every time I drive into the parking lot and if the line is super long, I just leave and try again another time. Well today was the day! No line and got a chance to try the Matcha 2 and the banana matcha with house made banana pudding. All I can say is... the line is worth it. Very good matcha! When we left, the line got really long so we beat the crowd. Will I stand in line the future? Probably not because I don't like waiting, but if I drive by and the line seems descent, I will stop for sure. Parking lot is small and shares with many restaurants. I can see it being congested during peak hours. Please come and create your own adventure. read more

Hands down one of the best matchas I've had recently. The matcha one was perfect - earthy and not too sweet. My daughter loved the mango milk! I thought it was a bit on the sweet side, but she was one happy camper. They were sold out of the sweet bread, so I'll need to try that next time! The employees were nice and happy to be there. The line was pretty long, but went fast. Parking wasn't as easy as I'd hoped, but got a spot after a couple circles. Totally recommend is you are a matcha fan! read more

Sooooo good!!! Their coconut water is Harmless Harvest and I loveeee their coconut water, mixed with their sea salt matcha foam was such a great touch. Their is a line out the door since they don't have a big area inside for dine in, but the line moves pretty fast. Highly recommend coming here and was such a great first visit! read more
