I was excited to try this place since I saw a promising instagram post, the place itself is well put together, however I waited 49 mins for my food and wasn't sure why because the place was not busy what so ever, there were 2 other parties there. I was served a beverage after my first 20 mins. Moving forward, the food was salty and the meat was not tender, i recommend they purchase a better quality meat. I'm sure it's a new business but it's not an excuse for bad service. For the price, this place should definitely focus on delivering better quality and faster service. I was hoping this place was going to be a hit and it wasn't. The service was great. We were a party of 6 on a Saturday, 4 adults 2 kids and they immediately set our table. The server was very nice and attentive. We ordered 2 Paloma's and 1 Margarita and we were disappointed, little to no alcohol, and a lot of syrup. Drinks are not their specialty. My husband ordered the Ceviche de Pescado as the appetizer, which was very large it could have been easily a meal. It was so fresh and delicious, they redeemed themselves after the huge miss on the drinks. I ordered the Saltado de Mariscos and frankly I was very disappointed. It was mostly French fries with 3 mussels, 2 pieces of shrimp, and a sprinkle of calamari and squid. The meal was mostly French fries. I was again disappointed. All in all, it was expensive for what you get, not the best neighborhood, terrible parking, terrible drinks, but some of the best ceviche I have had in a while. With Peruvian beats playing in the background and a wide array of culturally relevant art including a display of Peruvian native dolls, Paisanas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the maracuya juice and the chicha morada, both sweet and refreshing. For our main dishes we went the seafood route, and ordered Fabs favorite the Pulpo al olivo. Although not the traditional style I have had back home, as this plate had pepper and lemon added, it was a solid dish with tender octopus which is sometimes a rare find in Peru 9/10. The Ceviche Carretillero was excellent all of the toppings balanced perfect with the rich flavor coming from the leche de Tigre -especially the canchita. The fried ingredient, in this case the calamari, was a nice addition to the freshness of the plate however I was expecting deep fried fish as that is usually what I have had before 10/10. I was excited to try this place. Reviewed the photos online and the reviews. I have to mention that the photos online are not accurate according to the menu that's currently available. There are a lot of dishes that remain from a previous restaurant that was there. The menu is very limited however, tasty. They would've gotten a higher rating if the price was more appropriate to the portion size. At $31 a plate you would expect either a larger portion size or significant upgrade in quality. I will say the the taste received four stars. The portion size for the price one to two stars. Ample parking. However once again, the portion size for the price just doesn't add up. I probably will not be trying this place again unless there's some changes to their price. read more

This place is pretty bad. It is very overpriced for its location. The food is mediocre Peruvian food. It's quite a parent that they spent a lot of money on the restaurant and the decor and they need to overcompensate by overcharging the patrons for food. It is mediocre at best but definitely not worth these prices, I do not see this place lasting long. They are clearly in over their head. The food is mediocre, but not deserving of the prices listed on the menu the service was mediocre and we were the only people in the restaurant. Also, they do have a service charge for credit cards that is not indicated on the menu. So you will end up paying more than what is suggested or indicated on the menu if you pay with a card. It is mediocre Peruvian food at best. The sangria was Kool-Aid tasting. The dishes were not distinguishable between flavors. And it was way not worth the money. I suggest you look for a different place in a different locale as this place is a complete rip off. They spent way too much money on this restaurant for this neighborhood. I am not judgmental against this neighborhood whatsoever but this restaurant is doomed to fail. It's quite sad as I can tell that they have good intentions, but it's just never going to make it with these prices And this quality of food and attention to service. They had their first soft opening yesterday and we were so honored to be invited as one of their VIPs. The owners are so kind and a gorgeous couple. They make this place light up with their presence. Their food is amazingly delicious, you just want to eat everything. We ordered their crispy made to order beef Empanadas, their fresh ceviche with chips, their Paella was enough for my husband and I and for dessert we had their arroz con leche and their Cuban Flan. Their Arroz con Leche tasted just like my grandmas and their Flan to our surprise it had a very fruity, like peach, grapes and a hint of rum....WOW so good. Everything was finger licking delicious! My wife saw this place on one of her Long Beach foodie groups online and wanted to check it out. Classic hole-in-the-wall that doesn't look like much from the outside. Inside the space is clean and beautifully decorated. Our server was very warm and friendly. We ordered plantains (Platanos Maduros) & beef empanadas (serving is 2) as appetizers and they were excellent! The owners (we gathered) told us that they are a new restaurant in their opening phase and still expanding their menu. Despite this, we thought that the dishes we tried were all Outstanding!
