Cuban sandwiches are my favorite type of sandwich so when I saw that on the menu I just had to get one! The bread on the sandwich was amazing. I could have just eaten it by itself. Some of the pork pieces were dry and chewy. I think next time I might prefer a grilled cheese so that it would be the perfect sandwich. I also ordered a pistachio macaron. It was either not real pistachio or laced with almond flavoring of some kind because the pistachio ganache flavor was not very good and it was too sweet. Met some friends here on a busy Saturday brunch time. The line was long but felt like they got through the orders pretty quickly. I ordered the croissant sandwich with bacon, and an Americano. My friends ordered quiche and avocado toast. Our orders were a bit slow to arrive but it was busy and everything is fresh at least. My coffee was good, I like the beans they use. My sandwich was really tasty, would order again. However the breakfast style potatoes were a bit dry and I'd prefer a different option as a side. The pastry case looked tempting but maybe another time. It is a bit pricey, but I guess it's in the Domain so it's to be expected. I got a breakfast sandwich, sub sourdough and add avocado. First note, the potatoes need a lot of work. They tasted like old microwaved potatoes. I actually tried one in my car before I left and even then they were still very styrofoamy, no crisp at all, lacking flavor. (3 min walk from restaurant, left as soon as I received food, so I didn't let them sit for too long). As I walked out, I noticed all leftover plates only had potatoes left, showing I'm not the only one feeling this way. The breakfast sandwich also needed some work. The sourdough was not toasted at all. I already think untoasted bread on breakfast sandwiches is not great, but by the time I got home (only an 8 min drive), sitting in the container made it super soggy. I had to toast it myself. When taking the sandwich out to toast, I realized they cut the sanwhich then seemed to add the full bacon slices after, so when I picked it up everything fell off and I had to put everything back together and recut the sandwich in half due to the bacon being added after and uncut. They also have no sauces other than chalula packets (I asked). The staff was very nice and establishment was clean enough. If they fixed these issues I think it could be 5 stars. read more

Only go to this place if you need coffee and dessert. I had lunch with a client and I would have asked for my money back if I hadn't been with a client. I had the grill cheese and soup. The grill cheese was cream cheese on two grilled pieces of bread....why? The soup was chicken with veggies. No seasoning and canned chicken. Absolutely one of my favorite bakeries in Austin!! Bakery Lorraine is located in the Domain Shopping center near Nike, Velvet Taco, and many other establishments. For today I decided to go with the Lemon Blueberry Frangipane and a S'mores Tart. Both pastries were absolutely fantastic. The Lemon Blueberry Frangipane had the perfect combination of textures and the good balance of sweetness and tartness. The S'mores tart was equally as impressive and the chocolate filling inside was the perfect texture and sweetness as well. Pastries shouldn't just be an overload of sweetness, but be able to balance different flavor elements and Bakery Lorraine does just that. I have also tried their poptarts before as well and those are excellent (however they tend to run out by the afternoon!) The service was great as well as the workers had a smile on their face and were helpful in answering our questions! There is plenty of space inside to meet with friends or if you want to work. There is also outdoor seating up front. Give Bakery Lorraine a try next time you are in the Domain area! There is a free parking garage nearby that you can park at. read more

This place is super cute I don't know why I have not noticed it before. It's a little bakery that also has cafe type foods available. It's a great place to meet up with a friend or even have a casual date. I came here with a friend and got the BL Portobello Sandwich. The BL stands for Bakery Lorraine. It came with thin shoe string fries which are my favorite type of fries because idk why but when they are thinner it's almost like you can taste them more? We love Bakery Lorraine and have enjoyed many wonderful meals. My daughter and I stopped in today to eat. Our food was delivered by the manager, Olive. When she brought our food she was visibly irritated and unfriendly. The last time we ordered the breakfast plate, it came with butter and jam for the toast. When I inquired about the butter and jam, Olive aggressively told us that these are an extra charge and that they made a mistake including this with our meal last time. My daughter and I were taken back because of her agitated demeanor. When she walked away, I said, "what's wrong with her?" to my daughter. Olive overheard me and decided to accost us again so we could rehash an already very awkward, uncomfortable and unprofessional encounter. We hope Olive can receive some management training because my daughter and I were honestly embarrassed for her. On a side note, if butter and/or jam are going to be an upcharge, the cashier should ask us if we would like the items included when we place our order. I have found since moving to Austin that everything else is at least a little more affordable, if not much more affordable, than in Miami, but this place is the first to break that rule. We arrived at 10am on a Sunday and there wasn't a line which was great! You order right at the back and they deliver the food over to you. They have a lot of spots to sit outside especially when it's gorgeous out which is what we did. But the food is where this place really shines! I got the quiche Lorraine with roasted potatoes and from the pictures online, I was a little worried I wouldn't be full afterwards. But it came with a decent sized portion of potatoes which were seasoned perfectly and besides the roasted outside, were nice and soft inside without being dry or crumbly. And don't even get me started on the quiche! It was so silky and creamy and literally melted in my mouth. Honestly, I wish they gave me a bigger slice. In terms of fullness, I was pretty satisfied after my meal, but I could have eaten more. Which is kind of perfect since all of the bakery goods looked so good. First time there. I ordered the French toast (at a surprisingly high price), and what showed up was terrible. It was deep fried hard and crunchy, and tasted/smelled like used fry oil. There was no custard I could see, and the bread had absorbed so much oil it oozed out when cutting. I was only able to eat a few bites, and about 30min later I was ill to the point of vomiting and had to leave abruptly. My friend ordered the quiche and said it was ok, not the best but passable.
