For the money, Bantam+Biddy has the best modern southern-style/soul food around Atlanta. The recipes are creative and all work well. The entrees are nice and big and the sides are all delicious. The wait staff is friendly and helpful. Once we had a gift card for the restaurant and we accidentally left it there. The next time we were there we knew we still had a balance on the gift card so we took a chance and checked with our waitress to see if they had the card in lost&found. They actually did! The atmosphere is good--especially out on the patio, which provides excellent people watching from the constant stream of people going in and out of LA Fitness. My only complaint is that the last time I was underwhelmed by the cocktails--they have signature cocktails, some of which are pretty good. I am aware that they recently changed bar tenders so this may be why the quality has changed--not sure. The underwhelming cocktail in particular I sent back and it returned better. They have a great beer menu though. Overall, a very good experience. We've eaten there multiple times and loved it every time. I will definitely be back and am actively recommending Bantam+Biddy. Try: the meatloaf, the fried chicken, the chicken tenders (with wasabi-honey dipping sauce), the beats with goat cheese (my fave), the duck-fat fries, the "banaoffee" desert (a banana/toffee hybrid pie). The "risotto" side dish isn't actually risotto. I'd call it more of a succotash--but it's still good. read more

The food is exceptional - Always. Consistently. Good. However, the service has been hit or miss, but it looks like they're turning that around. Last time I went, I had Derriene Carlin, and she was a doll! Absolutely took care of us. The time before that, the service was great, too. I loved our build your own biscuit with fried chicken, egg, and cheddar cheese. The biscuit was amazing! We then had The Southern with special ham. It comes with grits, a fried egg, bacon, spicy cornbread, and a sauce made with coffee. That dish was just OK. It was a bit too salty for me. I did love the $5 mimosas, and or $12 you can have bottomless drinks! We topped off the meal with a Boston cream donut which was just OK. My partner and I have been regulars for quite some time, but my craving for B&B is slowly fading... The chicken and waffles are what usually draws me in, but it's the customer service that is driving me out. A lack of attention to detail seems to be brewing, from empty cups of coffee to melon filled fruit cups. Charging nearly $4 for a cup full of melons is preposterous, I mean sneak in a pineapple or grape! We were visiting on business from NYC and were a group of 7 that went for breakfast. The food was very good (grits & fresh OJ was fantastic) but our server, Tasha was what made this such a great experience. She was unbelievably friendly, attentive and we all just loved her. Excellent value and great food. I ordered 1/4 rotisserie chicken with greens and mashed potatoes and my husband ordered same with duck fat french fries and Brussels sprouts. All were great. I am not a major fan of rotisserie chicken but I ordered it as the specialty of the house and I was totally impressed with the taste from the first bite. The deserts were delicious as well. I have been a fan since day one. They are like a traditional, Southern meat-n-three but with the bonus of awesome, healthy options and sustainable practices. I LOVE the Southern Cobb salad. The bacon is always chunky and flavorful and the chicken is poached, (I think), which usually makes me think "flavorless", but not so at B+B! If you are gluten free, you will find AMAZING GF chicken fingers here. I would give them four stars if the seats were more comfortable and they didn't screw up my to-go orders on the reg. But, the quality of the food is always very high, the servers are down to Earth and attentive, they support local causes and they practice sustainability throughout. The food was pretty good. I had the traditional chicken and waffles and my husband had the banana nut bread chicken and waffles. The walnuts were whole, so we'd suggest maybe chopping them to make it easier to eat. The presentation was underwhelming but that's not really important. Went back for a late lunch. This is my fourth or fifth visit. My waiter was very attentive. I got the 4 veg plate. The mac and cheese has been totally redone, or else something just went very wrong the first time I had it. This time it was very good-- cheesy, creamy, with a lovely sprinkling of buttered bread crumbs on top. Pickled beets with goat cheese were exceptionally good. After reading about Bantam + Biddy in the Creative Loafing we decided to check them out on a Saturday morning. We love new breakfast places and this one didn't disappoint. Everything was top notch and we enjoyed the best schnitzel we've had in years. I got the Southern plate and it was wonderful and made all the better by the cornbread and pimento cheese that comes with the eggs, bacon and grits. Our waitress (Bonnie) was delightful and we'll be sure to ask her by name when we go back. I loved the charm, the music and the pretty restroom as well. A++ will go again. read more

First off let me say that I go to Ansley Mall quite a bit and was really excited to see that they finally had a nice sit down restaurant. I have been to Bantam & Biddy five times and each of those times the food I had was great. The issue was that each time, each and every time, the staff and management were a complete mess. You either find yourself waiting for a non-existent hostess while 5 waiters stand within feet of you talking to one another or are seated only to wait 15 minutes before going to ask, "who's section is this?" I have trouble, having been a server, understanding how a place with about as many waiters as tables has this kind of issue. I would like Bantam & Biddy to work out, I really would, but someone is going to have to get their act together and hire/train competent staff. If you are charging $25+ for a single lunch/dinner people expect a base level of competency- Bantam & Biddy just doesn't have it yet. read more

Found this little gem randomly on St.Patricks day and had a few drinks. Decided to come back the other day for a bite to eat and I'm happy I did. The blackened chicken sandwich and mojitos were really tasty. The place is really clean, nice looking inside, prices are very reasonable, and the service was fast. It's our first time trying this place. The food was good, staff were friendly (though stressed looking especially the WOMAN manager). I didn't see her smiling or greeting customers, she was too busy cleaning tables & trying to turn tables quick because of the lines. I had a somewhat lukewarm coffee. I was fine with it. I asked for water & refill for my coffee, it never came. I waited & waited until I was leaving then I was told, they are brewing it. They never offer some coffee for to go since I never got any refill anyway. Our waiter was nice & friendly but he disappeared on us. Our experience was a "self-service" one I understand there's people waiting at the door but please take care of your customers that are already inside.
