Saw a TikTok about this place saying that they have great Italian food. So bad that I had to leave a review! 1. The waiters who are older men had the nastiest attitude for absolutely no reason. Everything we asked seemed like a big inconvenience for him. We were asking about the menu but he made us feel like idiots for not knowing what a certain dish has in it. The menu board that he showed us had horrible handwriting we couldn't even read it. It doesn't help that he goes over the menu board in 3x speed playback. We didn't even bother asking about a certain dish because we were scared of pissing him off. 2. Food was OVERPRICED ASF and the protein content were very limited. The pasta was very mediocre. Do not get the truffle pasta please. For $50, you get a good amount of truffle but the cream sauce was literally water by the way it had no flavor. And the noodles had a weird chewy texture in a watery cream sauce. Wine was served in an old short glass, not very classy, not very demure. Water glass smelled fishy like it wasn't washed well. We ate as fast as we could so we could get the hell out of here. Ambiance was not great if you want to enjoy your night. 3. Cash only, which is fine. But if you're gonna charge only cash, at least lower the price a little on your mediocre food!! Receipt was very sketchy. It was written out sloppily in hope that you don't bother asking about them charging you more than they should. I could not read the handwriting and he gave us an attitude when we asked for him to clarify the total and gratuity. Don't support restaurants that could care less about their customers and the quality of their food. If this is considered "authentic Italian food"... I'm not sure if I want to go to Italy. With all the celebrities endorsing this place, I imagine people will come here no matter what so the level of service doesn't matter as much to them as it used to. We walked in for lunch and were seated immediately. The servers seemed pretty disinterested in us from the start, and this attitude carried over to the kitchen. I started off with an aperol spritz to beat the humidity, but it came in an alarmingly small glass. "What is this? A spritz for ants?!" the hero said to himself... At $16.50 I felt it should have been more than a 3 sip spritz. We got a mixed green salad that came unmixed, as the dressing was only on the top portion of the greens. Pain. However, I must concede that they are NOT messing around when it comes to the Pappardelle Alla Fiesolana. Reallllly loved the appetizers and pastas here! Quick meal. Went around 6pm on a Friday for an early dinner and didn't have to wait at all. Get the prosciutto, garlic, olive oil on bread app, it was the perfect blend of flavors! The pappardelle pasta was our fan favorite, very creamy & perfectly Al dente noodles. Bar Pitti Bar Pitti, the Bar was high, which is a pity. The Pappardelle Alla Fiesolana was in fact delicious, I'm glad I got that. You can tell it was fresh. Not sure why the bacon was in it seeing that I couldn't taste it unless it added some underlying saltiness or fattiness to the dish. Forgive me if I'm too poor to have never been to a proper Italian spot with "real Italians" serving me. While people brush this off, I can't. I felt off-put by the service. Maybe it was the time when the server was pouring the olive oil and because he was looking away talking to the other server, he started to pour oil on the table, until my sister quickly recentered it. Or perhaps it was when I asked for cheese and because he was in mid grate before leaving, the rest of the cheese just trailed on me. I guess that's the Italian way! I've never had anyone be so rude to me on the phone as the lady who I just spoke to. Condescending and talking over me as I was trying to ask questions. This is what I come for EVERY TIME I visit this spot! The Pappardelle Alla Fiesolana is a creamy red sauce with bacon bits over delicious Pappardelle pasta. They grate the cheese on top right I'm front of you! Amazingly satisfying, dont forget to bring cash though or visit their basement atm because it is cash only! A cozy cute interior, you will be sitting practically in the next table's lap haha. I like that style though since it adds to the liveliness of the restaurant. Bar Pitti has its place. If you know what you're in for, there's definitely a good time to be had and the fact that it's constantly packed is plenty evidence in its favor. Expect to be briskly shown to a table if one is available and a relatively brief wait on the sidewalk if one isn't. The wait is brief because food flies out at this place faster than a pigeon to a dropped dirty water dog - don't expect a leisurely dining experience. But the vibes are still good. The food menu on the table is mostly for show. The "specials" are famously written on chalk boards exclusively in Italian and are the way to go. I say "specials" because I don't think they've changed in...years? It's fun and needlessly inconvenient. Don't miss the "special" fried mushrooms and rabbit papperdelle. The veal cutlet is thin, crispy and also spot on. Do skip the bean and tuna salad. The wine offerings are serviceable: expect reasonably good examples of classic Italian styles at sensible price points, probably little to knock your socks off, but nothing to grimace about either. Pappardelle Alla Fiesolana is a must try here! This is a very quaint little spot in West Village, with a lot of outdoor seating - which is perfect as the weather gets warmer. The restaurant is cash only, and they have an ATM on the bottom floor near the bathrooms (not sure if it's still open given COVID though). There's a bit of construction around the restaurant from what I recall, but once that finishes, you'll have an excellent view of 6th Ave. Now for the main star of the show: the Pappardelle Alla Fiesolana -- the flat noodles compliment the creamy sauce perfectly, and they give you extra cheese to put on top. I've ordered a couple times for takeaway during COVID and it's always been a great experience (fresh bread and cheese included). read more

Always super crowded, great service and food! Everything tastes super fresh and high quality. The papardelle with ham and cream sauce is INCREDIBLE. The ham has such a smoky flavor that reminds me of bacon, and the sauce is super rich and cheesy. Highly recommend. Ton of Hype? Yes. Annoying cash only for a 30$ a plate place? Yes. Worth it? Also yes! This place is a hit of gem I have to say, pasta is fresh sauces are beyond great and you can actually walk in and get a table most days without a crazy wait. I am a lifelong customer. I have been coming here since I was 5 years old. The food is always excellent, my favorite entree is the pappardelle. I love to come in the summer and sit outside, as the indoor space is too brightly lit. But the service has become a different story. This place has had its soul sucked out of it. The servers are so jaded and rude, they force you to give them your full order the moment you are seated. The food comes out so quickly, you would think you're in a fast food chain, which honestly goes against the norms of Italian dining. You're supposed to sit for a while and enjoy your meal. But not here. They don't care about you or your experience. They are on a mission to turn over the table as quickly as possible. The other night, we were there on the later side, we came in at about an hour before closing. But right when 11:00 hit, they KICKED US OUT. Me, a veteran customer, was not allowed to finish my meal. It was 10:57, three minutes before closing time and they started stacking tables and chairs. We went to the restroom and came back to find our outdoor table was gone. They forced us to pay on the spot and get out. When we complained about how poorly we were treated, the head waiter gave one of us a kiss on the head. Wow. CASH ONLY (ATM downstairs) My friend and I walked in on a weekday evening and were able to be seated right away. We ordered a spinach dish and two pastas, all of which were good/great. Prices were consistent and expected with the neighborhood. I'm not necessarily running back to have food here due to the service. It was little things that cumulative made me feel like I wasn't particularly welcome or their preferred guest. One of the servers showed us their specials which were Italian dishes & words written on a chalkboard, but didn't exactly explain what anything was so we found ourselves googling stuff. He eventually came back to ask us if we had questions, but you could tell our questions were bothering him a little. Small things like that. It tasted like straight dog food not good whatsoever. Do not recommend it. we all shared the rigatoni branzino, and Pappardelle Alla Fiesolana. The rigatoni was hands-down, the best pasta the other two dishes were completely Mid. Got a bottle of wine for a good price and they let my dog in which was a plus is OK. Nothing to rave about.
