It was definitely odd eating a high end meal in a bookstore. It felt like a cafe or coffee shop where we were eating. The food does not match the atmosphere. The atmosphere was very relaxed and staff was friendly. The menu is definately on the light side. There's not much to choose from unless you want wine. Plenty of that. We waited a while for our food but surprisingly, the food was perfect. They never asked how I wanted my steak which was really odd. When you pay $27 for a steak, you want to eat it the way you like it. It was served medium to medium rare and cooked well. The veggies had a strong citrus taste which was a little strong but good. I dropped over $150 here without any liquor. It's expensive but good. I will probably eat here again but not soon. read more

We love The Kitchen at Barnes and Noble. We've eaten there 3 times and have sampled a variety of salads and entrees and have found everything to be very flavorful. I especially like their Brick Chicken and petite filet, while my ladyfriend is partial to the salmon. Service is attentive and friendly, the food is delicious and the atmosphere comfortable. I hesitate to share this review because I fear it will attract too many new diners but it's so refreshing to have a new dining place nearby that I couldn't resist. This is our new fav place. Only 3 restaurants nationally in Barnes & Noble stores have the restaurant and we're so fortunate to be one of them. We knew nothing about it ahead of time and it was a last resort when all our other go-to's were crazy busy on a recent Friday evening. The menu doesn't have a lot of entrees but the ones tried so far have all been delicious. Start with the guacamole and chips - they are to die for! Quac is sort of chunky to the point where some of us scooped it up with a fork. The table loved it so much that we ordered a second one for our large group. Entrees recommended: by far my fav is Brick Chicken but if you're looking for a great burger they have it. Also the salmon entree is really good. Spring pasta was heavier than expected as it had an white cream sauce and would probably be better with a nice EVOO. We were too full for dessert but heard the butterscotch pot de cream is delish. Then after, peruse the store to remedy that "too full feeling". Service was great too! Our first was with Noah--super helpful in recommendations and very personable. read more

When B&N first opened at Palladio and we saw they had a restaurant we were curious bordering on skeptical, but once we tried it we were hooked. The food is sophisticated yet reasonably priced. The only reason I did not give the 5 stars is that the menu is rather small and has not changed much. First time here and I was really impressed. Came for brunch and got the lemon-ricotta pancakes and they are to die for! The menu is small and simple but the food is delicious. I ordered the brick oven chicken with potatoes. Not only did I get less chicken than the last time I ordered it. But the potatoes were bland and terrible. If I'm playing 17$ for a meal I want to get an actual meal. Not whatever what thrown together on my plate. Its almost like they stoped at the idea of a kitchen and didn't have any follow through. What a wonderful surprise! We stopped in after church to browse and have a cup of coffee. Discovered a cafe with full menu and delicious food to boot. To the public I will start by saying that I like Barson Nobles I like to go there with my girls and have wine but the last time I was there I was looking through to the kitchen when I saw some female preparing meals I saw that she sneeze on the food scratch her ass listen I'm just glad that I go there for a wine so I asked the girl that was serving me my wine who's that over there and she say something like justice just so you know in true story man that's not nice people don't do that to people. Definitely enjoyed my time here! I've been to this restaurant 3 times now. All 3 times were very enjoyable, great service and delicious food. My only complaint is that the menu is somewhat limited. There aren't many options. We had a little scare when we came here for Valentine's Day because the prices were so much higher simply because of the holiday. Luckily we addressed this with the server and they kindly let us order off the traditional menu. Overall, a good experience. read more

I came here for some yummy late night snacks and I did not leave disappointed! The food is really good and the beverage selection is more than adequate, offering soft drinks as well as beer & wine. The service was good too - everyone had a smile on their face. The only qualm I have is the pricing... it's a little pricey for me. I feel like being able to eat at B&N is nice - it means that if I get hungry while shopping, I do not have to stop shopping, which is really nice...but $19 for a salad with some chicken on it is a bit steep for a lunch at a bookstore. See, I'm not going to come here for lunch... I'm going to come here for books or magazines, get hungry and find the B&N Kitchen too convenient to pass up... but by the time you add in a beverage, tax and tip - I'm going to give a hard pass on a $30 salad. Oh, and add another $15 for each child that you have with you if they want a burger and a lemonade... $4 for a kid's OJ? SERIOUSLY. Are you squeezing those oranges tableside? Yeah, I want to like it but for me, there needs to be some retooling of their menu prices. read more

So we went to this place twice, I like their food, but sometimes it's too salty. I don't like their manager, I hadn't talk to him, but they have no ingredients. At first time they had no tomato's, now they have no mozzarella. They should change their manager if he can't manage how many ingredients they need. read more

This place rocked. Walking in, thought this is a little weird to eat in a bookstore but we'll give it a try. We started with a few beers and guac and chips. Both yummy and super fresh. Restaurant in a book store? Kind of a crazy concept, but it works. Food and service are really outstanding. Im told that one of the original founders of the Houstons / Bandera restaurant chain was hired by Barnes and Noble to put the concept together so as you would expect, everything is super fresh and delicious, and they have a great list of wines by the glass. We've gone in as a family a few times prior to heading to the movies -- the kids pick out books, we have our wine and beer then share a great meal together so it makes for a really nice evening. The Burrata, Hummus and Guac are all home made, including the flatbreads and chips that it is served with. We've tried the pan seared chicken (seriously incredible), vege salad, burger and pasta -- all really nicely done. They need to get shades on the windows and umbrellas for the patio because the sun is blinding and hot there in the evening, but otherwise its really one of the better restaurants in the area. read more

I really enjoyed my lunch at Barnes and Noble Kitchen today! I was able to choose my seat because it was pretty empty (due to it being lunch time on a weekday). I got a big table and was able to spread out all of my paper and work. I was greeted immediately with water. I ordered a latte and the avocado toast. Both were super delicious. The servers were super friendly and very attentive. They let me work away a couple of hours after eating. They even offered me more water after I had already paid the bill. I had a wonderful experience eating and working in the clean, peaceful atmosphere of Barnes and Noble. read more

My husband and I decided to have lunch in Palladio after doing some shopping and we decided to try B&N Kitchen. We had only once tried their food at a Yelp event a year ago and it was quite good then. We were very pleased with the food and the service! We looked at the bar menu and since it looked good, we were seated. The waitress brought us the regular dining room menu, but when we asked if we could order from the bar menu she said, "Of course"! We ordered salmon tacos, the caprese salad and potato skins. When the waitress brought out the food, she had accidentally orders steak tacos instead of salmon tacos. When we pointed that out, she immediately apologized and offered to bring us the salmon tacos. I suggested she just bring us one salmon taco, and so we could have one of each, as we were sharing. She let us have the steak tacos and brought us the full order, two salmon tacos. Everything was fresh and delicious! The waitress gave us excellent service, even though we only shared a few appetizers. In addition, we were not charged for the mistake order of steak tacos, even though we had decided to keep them and eat them. This is good customer service, which seems to be rare these days! Went in to grab a vinyl I was searching for and luckily found it. The staff were super accommodating and friendly. While waiting in-line I had my sister go get me a Starbucks that's conveniently located inside. I figured once I was done checking out our drinks would be done considering there was a line. We waited 5 mins for our drinks only to be watery (we ordered fraps) and have zero flavor so we asked to have them be remade, waited another 5 mins only to yet AGAIN be disappointed. Wow... what a great experience. I went in a bit skeptical but had SUCH a great meal here. The service from entry to exit is fabulous & friendly, the food was off the charts and has something for everyone, the bar is fun & hip & the ambiance can pretty much be whatever you want to make it. I mean c'mon - you can eat in a leather rocking chair for cryin' out loud - does it get any better than that?! :o) The only reason I didn't give a 5 star was b/c our order was accidentally submitted wrong & took a bit longer to serve up. We wouldn't have even noticed had the table next to us (who was sat after us) not been served quicker than us. We were in no hurry & certainly weren't ready to complain. That said, the manager made his way out to our table, profusely apologized & comped one of our meals. Completely unnecessary but a such lovely gesture that left us with 2 thumbs up all around. Horrible service, bitter coffee. The man who "served" my coffee put every trivial task he could manage to come up with ahead of taking my order. When he finally took my order, he said, with condescending derision, "extra hot..." I corrected him. I said hot. He argued: "I thought I heard you say extra hot." I said hot, as opposed to cold. When the coffee finally showed up on the counter, it was horribly bitter. Also, I overheard another server telling a female customer, who seemed to be his friend, that he "took care" of her bill. read more

We attended B&N Kitchen for the first time today to attend their "Breakfast with Santa" event. It needs a LOT of work. It was highly disorganized and not what was advertised. It is shown as buffet on the flyer, but it was not. When we arrived the server couldn't even tell us what was being served or how the event worked. She found out details and returned. We ordered pancakes. It took an hour and 10 minutes to get our pancakes! Completely unacceptable, especially for a children's event. And the Santa was really horrible. His beard had an obvious string showing. My 4yo could tell from more than 40 ft away that he was fake because the beard was so horrible. And Santa needs a lot of coaching. My daughter requested a Hatchimal and he asked her, "A Hatchible? What is that?" Excuse me? Santa knows all the toys he makes, right? Especially one of the most popular toys in the country. He also offered to bring my kids an Etch-a-sketch to play with while we were waiting, but then never returned! Way to let the children down, Santa. These are just some of the things that went wrong. This event needs a lot of changes to be successful. It seemed very, very, very little preparation was made and our kids ended up bored, hungry, tired, and disappointed. On the upside, the food tasted good and the price was reasonable, but what am awful experience overall. You can do better B&N. read more
