Over priced and zero flavor. We live on the Cape and we were both very disappointed with our lunch.

We were in town for a couple days and decided to have lunch at this place today. It is along the water near the marina. There are actually two different dining areas. The first is called Baxter's Boathouse. It has a bar area and about twenty round tables with a picture of the cape as the tabletop and captain's chairs for seating. The other dining option is called Baxter's Fish and Chips. It has picnic tables for seating, as well as an outdoor deck with picnic tables. They both share the same menu. We sat in Baxter's Boathouse and loved the charm. Our server, Rochelle, quickly came over with menus and a friendly vibe. The menu had plenty of appetizers, handhelds, and entrees. I went with the cape slider combo. It came with one lobster slider, one cup of clam chowder soup, and one stuffed quahog. It was delicious. My husband had the grilled shrimp skewer with rice and a cup of clam chowder soup. He also enjoyed his lunch. We saw plenty of boats go by as we enjoyed our lunch.

Yeah yeah yeah lobster roll for $42 though? Ok served with fries and a lemon wedge On A PAPER PLATE!!!!! and they boast of recycle...you can't recycle a used paper plate. Truthfully I've had better at food truck...too much mayo and celery. Bun was not buttery nor toasted Okay, enough with the negativity. I did have the VeryTasty, very creamy seafood bisque, albeit serve on a waxed lined to-go bowl that you get at chilis for my leftover salsa ($13) , along with my $11 (1) quahog served on a clamshell. Quahog is a clam. It was not stuffed, can't be stuffed...its more of a stuffing with quahog served MAYBE on a quahog shell.... Service was normal what you would expect, nothing special that made me feel welcome and glad I was eating at their establishment. NO friendly "how Ya'll doing? Have you dined with us before? celebrating anthing special?" NOW...the outdoor eating place was very nice and I think that's what I paid for. $66 later, we were ready to go.... I did ask for a military discount and they were generous to give me 15%. And cheaper if you paid cash So my tip is: you are, paying for fine dining experience and harbor front al fresco dining at maybe a chilis quality

Back for lunch with lovely harbor views, a great cheeseburger and a swordfish sandwich. Another great visit to the classic Baxters.

We ordered seafood plater and onion rings to share. Since agood plater comes w whole belly clam, shrimp, scallops, fish and fries. When it arrives, my husband who is whole belly clam connoisseur told the server that he get strips only. After couple debate about the differences, the waitress ordered us the whole belly clam -w the manager's permission- and it was different and everything was great. The place is so packed, directly by the side of the river. You can enjoy the view from where you sitting. Onion rings are think and coated perfectly and fried nicely. Not as greasy as typical fried seafood are. We will be back to try other menu

Baxter's is so awesome. We were cruising around in my cousin's boat until it was time to eat and we pulled into Baxter's (via boat) to their Dock & Dine spots which is exactly what it sounds like-- you arrive by boat, dock it right outside, and a waiter will come over and take your order and you eat your food in your boat on the very calming waters with stunning views. Brilliant concept. The clam chowder - a must order. Perfect amount of cream, clams, and potatoes in that thing. Delicious. Chicken Caesar wrap - also a must order. This was the perfect meal that is light yet so filling. The fries are nice and crunchy too. With my favorite to top it off - a lemonade and stunning views looking out in the distance on a parked boat and summer vibes all around. Life is oh so good. Our waiter was so nice and there were about 8 of us and the food came out so fast! Incredible stuff.

This restaurant is on water front with a view of the bay with boats can dock and have a meal, there are inside and outside seating. We ordered 1.5lbs Steamers, good clams that was clean of sand, and Fried Seafood Plate, fish, shrimp, scallops, belly clams, everything fried good just belly clams over cooked made it chewy. Service was good.

    Appetizer skewer

Had the most amazing chowders here today. We had the New England clam chowder and the seafood chowder. A bit of seafood in every spoon of both types. Great service with a harbor view. We got the skewers on the appetizer menu and the fish and chips. Both delicious. Tender shrimp and flaky fish.

Nice cozy place. Has outdoor seating overlooking harbor. Unfortunately really didn't meet expectations. Seafood plate was pricey at $41 and it was served on a paper plate. As our individual plates were paper plates - as if eating at a fast food take out place. We had beer and wine $70 price tag was ridiculous. Won't be coming back. Server was very nice and attentive. I think the 3 stars is generous - mainly because staff was pleasant.

    Whole belly clam plate .

I had to drive to town to drop someone off at the ferry port next door , so it was so convenient to stop there for a quick lunch . I wanted whole belly clams , I ordered the deep fried whole belly plate . ( $36 ) The Clams were good , probably got 12 to 16 clams . The fries were ok, the one thing that always bothers me is they give you like 1 or 2 oz of coleslaw. Like it's so expensive. So for $36 you're paying $2 a clam , $10 for fries , and the coleslaw isn't worth $2 . But the location and atmosphere is what makes it worth it .

I make time to eat here every time I'm visiting Hyannis. I generally sit on the casual side. Service is always attentive and fast. They always have a lot of staff. The foods never disappoint and the view of the boats going in and out of the harbor is always relaxing. I have tried various dishes here and they are always delicious. It's tend to be very busy in August so parking can be a challenge. We have also been here in June when there were plenty of parking and no wait at the restaurant.

Any restaurant that can't advertise their prices is either pretentious or embarrassed to do so. Another case of shafting the consumer.

My first glass of vinho verde wine was served at room temperature (the second was fine), and the side plate I was given was crusted with dried food residue. I also watched an employee behind the bar wipe her nose with her hand and then continue slicing citrus barehanded. The chicken empanadas were good but not particularly special. We also had one of the small pizzas, which was the best thing of the night, crispy and flavorful (with a little char at the edges, which we like). The decor is a little bananas (different shades of green between the walls, the napkins, the barstools, and the banquettes; five kinds of lighting fixtures; lots of sound and lighting items with exposed, hasty-looking wiring). The bathroom door doesn't really close and lock properly. And the restaurant is really loud, even half full. The writing on the menu, about family members and special recipes, tells me that there's pride here and real care about making a good restaurant. However, without the attention to detail (particularly cleanliness and hygiene!), that's kind of moot. Three stars instead of two here because the pizza was good and the staff obviously care about customers.

Conveniently located near the ferry terminal and also near the Hyannis Harbor hotel where we were staying for a weekend getaway to the Cape a few weekends ago. We walked down the street, checked out the menu which looked good. It was a bit hot so we decided to sit inside however it felt a bit dark inside so we went back outside and were seated under the covered area outside. The menu is quite extensive so no trouble finding something you like. We ordered the crab cake appetizer which was good - I prefer more lump crab meat and this was all minced together but still good. For my main dish I ordered the salmon which came with roasted potatoes and veggies with a light sauce. It was nice - salmon was tender, potatoes were crispy and tender - good portion size. Hubs ordered the dayboat cod and he enjoyed it. Servers were nice and they even took our photo on request. It's a popular spot you can tell - both inside and outside were busy. Was nice sitting outside- they have these planters on the side which make for nice outdoor decor. Overall a good experience!

My boyfriend and I had such a great experience here our first night of vacation that we decided to come back our second night. So we went to the hostess and said table for 2 and took the buzzer and were told 45 minute wait. It was an hour wait but I loved the experience and was ok with waiting. So when our buzzer buzzed. I headed to the hostess stand and there was a long line. I didn't want to be rude so I said the lead hostess "hey I just got a buzz" she said "ok maam I will be right with you." She continued to take down the names of the multiple groups of people in line. I decided that I would go to the back of the line to be respectful. As we were just about to near the front I hear her say "table ___ is a no show we are giving away to table ___" the people she gave the table to were people who were bothering her about the long wait time while my boyfriend and I patiently waited. She went to then give me ANOTHER buzzer as she gave our table away although we were there on time and then ignored. I gave the new buzzer back to her and told her that we previously were there with our buzzer and told her and she told us to wait a minute but ignored us. My boyfriend chimed in to say that he saw her give the table away to the next people on the list that were bothering her while we patiently waited. The hostess didn't say sorry and let us leave after we were very respectful. As someone in the industry it breaks my heart. I have been in her position and have done everything I could to make it right and to allow my guests to have the best experience possible. All she did was stare at us as we expressed concern. I was deeply hurt after this interaction and left wondering what I did wrong. All I tried to do was be a loyal customer and be respectful and I was patient and was punished for being patient and respectful. All I want is some recognition and apology.
