The food, at least the honey garlic bone in wings, is great. Boneless i was not a fan of at all - it can make or break the order imo. $1.25 for a couple cubes of radish, okay....$2.00 for a condiment container of spicy sauce...my wings are $18 for a SMALL (8 piece). This makes my meal of 8 bone-in wings, 1 radish, and 1 sauce $22. No fries, no rice, no drinks. They do well (im assuming) because the next location is in Burbank and this is easy for lunch. Underwhelmed. While the chicken itself (golden original) was good, although not in my top 10, the restaurant, service and sauces left something to be desired. The restaurant was small, cold and uninviting--did not feel clean. The staff needed lessons in customer service. Some of the chicken wings had dangerous small broken bones. Drinks choices were sorely lacking--just a couple of flavors of canned soft drinks, water and some other drinks with which I wasn't familar. Prices seemed steep for what you get. I was so excited to see that a bb.q Chicken finally opened up in Glendale! I frequent the one in Alhambra a lot and now they're finally expanding to several areas. I placed an order for pickup on a Sunday and went to get my chicken around 5pm when the food was ready. I have an account and get text message alerts to notify me when to head to the store. When I walked in no one was inside, the only person I saw was a male worker at the counter. The guy didn't even acknowledge me, no welcome, no hello, nothing. He looked annoyed that I was there. Mind you he was doing nothing, just standing there wiping a plastic utensil.... I told him I had an order for pickup and told him my name. Usually they ask for your phone number when you pickup at bb.q Chicken or at least the one in Alhambra and Temple City do. But he asked to see my order. I showed him my text messages and he said no the email. Okay, my bad! So I pulled up the email confirmation with the order # then he said "no, scroll all the way down." Then he proceeded to look at my order confirmation email super intensely which to me seemed a bit too much for the one pickup order they had behind the counter well out of view from people. Why did he act like I was trying to steal chicken? Do people often fake automated text messages and emails from this establishment for him to be grilling me? I felt like I had entered the police station or like it was google trying to verify that it was in fact me who had logged onto my email. Or was he worried he didn't pack the order right? Either way it was very unpleasant to have someone treat me like a criminal when I was the only customer who had placed a pick up order. He didn't even have a nice farewell for me. Guess he was happy I was leaving so he could go back to pretending to be busy. This place has amazing food, love Korean fried chicken! But I can't support a place that doesn't employee good staff. He needs to be retrained with the good and helpful attitude that other bb.q Chicken employees have! I've never encountered such rude behavior before. The other thing I wish they had was the ability to split a wing order of 16 into two flavors. When I asked to split the wing flavors into 2 parts for a 16 piece they said they can't do that. bb.q Chicken is like the least consistent "hip" food chain there is. Half of them are great, half of them are like this location, where they can't even make the food correctly. As shown in the pictures here, the chicken isn't consistently coated in sauce. For how much this stuff costs (too much), it should be perfectly and consistently made. If you must eat from here, I guess pop over to Alhambra instead, as that location knows what its doing. read more
