I highly recommend this authentic Taiwanese restaurant. This is my second visit, and the consistency in food quality is impressive. I especially love the popcorn chicken--it's perfectly textured and tender. The stinky tofu is also incredibly delicious.

It is a neighborhood spot with good comfort food. The restuarnat is clean and very welcoming vibe, they offered free peanuts next to the water pitcher; how cute is that! For lunch, we got the popular beef noodle, and BBQ pork bento. I like the bento presentation and the portion of each items. The BBQ pork was very flavorful, the meat was still tender, the garlic sauce added a little kick to it. The stir-fried veggie, tomato-fried eggs, and stewed tofu made it a balanced meal. I especially like the seasoned pickles.

I came back to try the spicy beef noodle soup and it did not disappoint. Interestingly at BD Cafe, you get your choice of thick, thin, or vermicelli noodles. I like having the flexibility to customize my noodles. I went with thick noodles because that's what my waitress recommended and chose medium spicy. This was a very good spicy beef noodle soup. It comes with a generous amount of tender beef and baby bok choy. The broth tasted clean and had just the right amount of spice. But the star were the thick cut noodles which were al dente and chewy. Every component of the soup was excellent. A bowl will run you about $15 bucks, but I feel like that's the going rate these dates. We also tried the spicy wontons (good as always) and an order of Taiwanese sausage. The raw garlic with the sausage was an unexpectedly good combo. I can't recommend BD Cafe enough.

The spicy beef noodle was absolutely delicious. The noodle was fresh with a chewy texture. The beef was fork tender and very flavorful. The broth packed with five spice and beefy flavor. It looks super spicy but it's not. Washed it all down with a cold tea drink infused with fruit grapefruit. It was so refreshing and they did not skimp on the fresh fruit! We ordered the pork belly rice bowl to go. It was good with lots of rice. The meat is tender and the fat felts in your mouth. The pickled vegetables balanced out the flavors perfectly. Service was friendly and fast. We asked for chili and more picketed veggies and got them right away.

Good taste!! The food is delicious and in line with Taiwanese taste. The price is reasonable and it is worth trying.

I've had a great experience at BD cafe! Servers are friendly, prices were reasonable, and interior was clean. I got takeout, and the service was fast. I enjoyed their milk tea, it was classic like the back in Taiwan. The pork belly was tender, eggs flavorful, and fermented veggies were perfectly sweet. Defenitly recommend!

I have been to BD Cafe a few times over the years! I really enjoy their Taiwanese Minced Pork Belly. They have a version in the bowl for around $10 that comes with rice and a bento box version that comes with rice and 3 veggies (cabbage, seaweed, and cucumber the last time I went) for around $13. It is always delicious! The sauce that comes with the pork belly goes great on rice. Service wise, you can order at the counter or they may take your order for dine in. However, you usually have to go up to the cashier to pay when you're done. Not like a regular dine in where the wait staff brings a check to you. So be prepared to go up if you are trying to leave. Also, there were a few times where the restaurant closed at 3pm and they don't seat you for dine in if you come in around 2:40pm. I think they have more staff now and are open until 7pm but check the door to be sure. It is usually pretty clean in the restaurant. They have a self service water station and peanuts available for people to snack on (beware peanut allergy customers). Overall, good experience!

    Simple inside restaurant.

Home cooking Taiwanese style. The rice vermicelli was moist and comforting. Popcorn chicken was also addictive. The tofu and shrimp was a little plain, but also comfort food. My least favorite was the dry noodle. Lots of young families inside.

milk fish porridge. It's a huge portion with lots of tender de-boned milk fish.

We waited maybe 45mins at 6pm on a saturday to be seated, which wasnt too bad. The last time we tried to come it was a 2hr wait! The hostess in charge of seating was super nice and very communicative with us. When we finally got in you go down the salad line, then pay at the end. There is a LOT of salad options, a few premade ones but mostly just assorted salad ingredients. Salad isnt my thing so I didnt get much. Dinner is $20 per person which came out to $43 for 2 people with tax. Cheap for a buffet but there is barely any protein available. They had a lot of soups available! Pozole (our favorite!!), clam chowder, chicken noodle, cheddar broccoli, cream of mushroom and more. Theres a baked potato station I didnt partake from, a small pizza station, small pasta station and some bread and their square muffins! Theres also soft serve, a few puddings and a few fruits as well. The quality is okay overall. It is pretty fresh and they constantly restock things which is good. All the soups i tried were yummy except the clam chowder. The cheese bread was pretty good and so was the marinara! The alfredo wasn't good though. The muffins are a bit dry and the soft serve machine broke while we were there but they fixed it later! Fruit was okay. There's a ton of options which made it fun to look around and choose from but there was definitely barely any protein. Still a fun concept and an okay price but i wouldn't make the drive or wait more than 30mins for it again.

Luckily, Soup n Fresh was in the same plaza and we've been bombarded by social media about how it was the second coming of soup plantation. It was over 100 degrees outside on a weekday lunch so we didn't really expect it to be very busy. When we entered, the host wasn't around and an employee insisted we stand outside in the 100+ degree weather to wait..... When the host came back, she said we didn't need to wait. At the end of the line, there was someone attempting to direct you towards a table, however it was confusing as some tables were marked with a paper saying it was taken? Food wise - it's no soup plantation. I remember really loving the Asian inspired salad and theirs just simply can't compare. It doesn't taste anywhere close to what I remember. The broccoli madness was close, but not perfect. Other than that....it was just a salad bar. They were good about refilling the salad bar, but they weren't good about refilling the fruit station at the end (wasn't refilled for over 1+ hours). Soups were a lot more water-y than I remember - favorites such as the clam chowder were super watered down. Luckily, the baked potato bar toppings could save it. The hot bar - the pizzas/garlic bread or whatever were disgusting. They tasted like cardboard and reminded me of that sad lunch you'd attempt to eat in elementary school. Pastas also sucked. The blueberry muffin was actually good though! That was the highlight - with real blueberries inside. Overall, I found the food to be generally bland. Unfortunately, it wasn't the glorious blast to the past that I was hoping for.

The only thing I have to knock, as other reviews state as well, the service is pretty mediocre. It is difficult to flag anyone down after they give you your food. The charbroiled pork was incredibly flavorful, tender, and well-marinated. I loved all the fresh accompaniments, including the pickled carrots, cucumbers, mint, and bean sprout . The egg roll was delicious and added great flavor to the dish. The clear crispy wrap they used was a pleasant surprise. It was light, crunchy, and absolutely delicious!
