I ordered a chicken steak rice and oolong tea. Overall, it was a good place for lunch. I want to come back and try the beef noodle soup next time. The chicken steak was tender, not dry. One side of the chicken steak was perfect crunchy, but the other side was soaked which I thought was odd. I think it might've been from the frying oil? But I wasn't too sure. The side dishes were really good. The Napa cabbage (滷白菜) was so damn good. I liked the garlic spinach and soup that it came with. It reminded me of what my parents make (which is always a good thing). The oolong tea was so good. Nice strong tea flavors. Super ice cold, which was much appreciated. I thought it was kind of odd that all of the chopstick holders were overflowing, so the lid kept falling down at tables. I also thought it was weird that only some tables have napkin dispensers, but it wasn't a huge deal. They bring you a napkin with a spoon if you have any soups (or order a bento because it comes with the soup). Service was okay, but I don't go to Taiwanese/Chinese restaurants for service. read more

Most beef noodle soup I've had contains too much soy sauce or too oily, this place has a more homemade and healthier feel, not too salty or oily and love the thinly sliced meat. I asked for less meat with more veggies and more soup. Perfect. Can't speak for the spicy beef noodle soup though. My friend got it and the meat was thick, soup was oily...not my thing. I love their minced pork rice. Everytime I'm in the area and I'm craving minced pork rice, this is the place to go. The beef noodle soup is pretty tasty too. Recently opened Taiwanese restaurant next to California Noodle and Grill. They ran out of alot of the rice plates when I went there, so I just got the minced pork bowl ($3.99). It had pieces of boiled peanuts with some seaweed, bamboo, and half an egg with the chopped pork, it was tasty. Place is clean and the girl who took my order was nice. Yay, more Taiwanese food in Chino is always good, right? Marinated Pork Chop Rice -- A bit on the salty side but it was really good and didn't feel too greasy. The meat was soft and the side dishes felt home-cooked. The braised pork on top of the rice was nothing special, but passable. Beef Noodle Soup -- A huge bowl and it came with some pickled mustard greens on the side. Broth had a bold flavor, but lacking that special something. Spicy Crystal Dumplings -- like mini ba wan, the oil was very heavy on this one and the skin was quite thick. The filling had a bit of bamboo and mushroom so it was quite good. We had the Hokkaido Milk Tea and it was just ok. Definitely not as great as its counterparts in the rest of the SGV, but you can't really find too many of these places in Chino. This place is SUCH a gem It's food that makes me think of home (taiwan !). Their bento is amazing, it truly tastes like somebody's Taiwanese mother made you a bento. I'm unsure of what the correct word for it in English is, but their zhu xie gao is the best I've ever had in America. They fry it, and then coat it in pepper salt to mask out the irony taste of the blood. It also comes with this amazing garlic soy paste . The sauce that comes with the popcorn chicken bento is AMAZING. It's such a unique flavor that truly reminds me of my mom's cooking. The restaurant is open for dine in, and we went in for lunch! The servers all speak mandarin, so if your parents or you want to order something in mandarin they will understand. The next time I come here, I'll definitely be trying one of their drinks! It's pretty good taiwanese food. The pork belly is their main attraction and tasted just as good as my moms homemade pork belly. I also ordered their fried pork chop bento. I was just ok. The pork chop was more soggy than fried and crispy. I didnt care for their bamboo side. It tasted like bamboo right out of a can. Literally. My friend had their spicy beef noodle soup and he said it was really tasty and gave it a thumbs up. So I'm going to take his word for it. Another plate I got was their minced pork meat with rice. That was absolutely delicious and worth every dollar. The boiled egg that came with it was stewed to perfection. Meat was marinated well and extremely tasty. A little too saucy for me so I'd prefer sauce on the side next time. Spicy dry noodle (dan dan mien): Not the best but it kicked my craving. My boyfriend enjoyed it. Popcorn chicken: Loved it. They give a good amount of basil leaves, whereas other places skimp on it. The breading was delicious and fried to a perfect crisp. Spicy Wontons: Get it. We came here for early dinner on a Sunday. The restaurant was not busy and the servers were friendly. Drinking water and anchovies with peanuts snack are available at the side table. We ordered a Spicy Dry Noodle with minced pork, Railroad Bento Box (string beans, tomato and eggs, grilled pork chop and tofu with minced pork), and a veggie dish with minced pork on top....a lot of minced pork but quite delicious. Just finished eating here. Will not come back again. Terrible service, loud noise from TV blasting on top of my head. Food is bland, totally not what I expected based on the reviews. The whole time I was there I was extremely uneasy. The whole setting: the food, the service, the TV noise made me want to get out of there as soon as I finished eating. The worst part was the food. It claims their bento resembles the Taiwan Railroad Bureau serves on the train. NOT TRUE AT ALL! It's nothing like it at all. Truly disappointed! They probably also put a lot of MSG in their food. My family and I usually go here when we are craving Taiwanese food. My favorite item to order is the TAIWANESE MEATBALL (Bawan, 彰化肉圆) . Most Taiwanese restaurants I go to in California don't have them or they aren't too fresh. BD Cafe makes their meatballs FRESH and some days they even run out! I also like to order the bento boxes when I come here because you get a little bit of meat, rice, veggies, and small sides. However, I order it when I'm craving my mom's cooking. I grew up with my mom's Taiwanese cooking, so with that being said, the bento boxes are very average. The presentation is nice, but the food itself isn't too special. Try their iced green tea! What? The reviewer before me got an egg in their braised pork. I did not.... Today is their grand opening, we came on our lunch hour. There was a lot of empty tables but through our stay it got packed very quickly. My poor friend, the food she wanted to order they didn't have yet. So she had to settle for the noodle katsu, I got the braised pork (without the egg),and my other two co workers got the house special noodle. The braised pork tasted like the other braised pork. It was good actually, but the portion was just enough for me. It would be small for my husband. It came with side dishes of green beans, bamboo, and fried tofu. I tried the katsu, it wasn't bad. I really like the breading, it was light and not too heavy like other places. My co worker ordered the house noodle special spicy, but I didn't taste any spice at all. It was too sweet for him but I thought it had a lot of flavors. The servers are really unorganized and clearly needed a little more training. We all ordered large drinks and we ended up getting small. The server came back to ask me about my milk tea but I didn't order the milk tea. We asked if they split checks and they said yes, but didn't at the time when the bill came. The water cups are small tea cups..I think they could be a tad larger. I come here pretty often for their authentic Taiwanese food. I love their braised beef noodle soup (mild spicy). I'd recommend their thick noodles, it's so good! If I'm looking for a lighter meal, I usually go for the spicy dry noodle with thick noodles- but it's pretty spicy. We usually order the spicy wontons to share or the popcorn chicken. The meal comes with fish filet, string beans, bamboo shoots a piece of tofu, 1/2 of an hard boiled soy sauce marinated egg, tofu & white rice rice with minced pork in brown sauce in top. Great place to get a quick lunch! Their food is decently priced, giving you generous portions and a variety of side dishes that come with the meals. I tried their chicken roll bento box and their popcorn chicken bento box. The chicken roll was very tasty while their popcorn chicken was average. I've definitely tasted better popcorn chicken. Their menu is huge so it might take a while to try everything, but so far so good! Also definitely give their Hokkaido milk tea a try! The place is pretty small too. Service is great but some of the staff don't speak english too well, so it might cause some misunderstanding with your orders, but at least they're nice and willing to help!
