Got two small San Pellegrinos and for some reason they cost $13. That's ridiculous even for SF.

The service is great....employees are friendly and warm...great place to work/study since they have outlets. The matcha was not good. It tasted like milk. It wasn't sweetened in any way - usually places will ask if you want it sweetened or tell you that it's not sweetened. This just came out as a surprise. And the rim of the glass was dirty. I like this place. The food looks tasty (haven't tried it). Just came here to say don't order the matcha. The Thai tea and mocha weren't very good either. The lavender lemonade is delicious. Get that if you get a drink. Maybe their food is better than their drinks.

Woke up late on Saturday morning and got caught up in social media doom scrolling until afternoon at which time I found I was too lazy and hungry to try to figure out making breakfast out of whatever was in the house apart from the daily oatmeal I can cook on autopilot (if you can even call that cooking). Which is why I found myself at the bean bag cafe and asking what might be a recommended omelette. La Mancha hit the spot with its layer of egg enveloping the flavorful mix of grilled chicken, green onion slices, mushrooms, and stretchy mozzarella cheese. The caramelized crunch of the home fries gave a great contrast to the soft center and went well with the omelette along with the ketchup and hot sauce. The toast with butter and jelly added some sweetness to the large savory meal which probably could have fed two smaller people but since this is going to count for breakfast and lunch, I gave myself a pass. The afternoon was not as packed as the mornings I've been there on the weekends which is understandable for a cafe. Still nice for relaxing and people watching from the windows out into the street and enjoying some personal time listening to a podcast about Japanese entertainment and enjoying the free time.

Came here to do some work with a friend and ordered a matcha latte with oat milk, which was pretty good! My friend ordered a blueberry banana smoothie, which was also yummy. It's a casual cafe with small tables for you to grab a drink, quick bite to eat, or do some work. Service is quick and it's pretty busy in there.

Great place to work or meet with friends. The food is good, with a decent variety and really good drinks. It also came out pretty fast. Nice spot if you're in the neighborhood.

I've stopped by Bean Bag Cafe several times, whether to get some work done or grab brunch. This place has everything from breakfast, lunch, and dinner to coffee and wine/beer. They offer plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, and the owner is very friendly. I've ordered the Baja scrambled eggs, tacos, and the Bodega Bay sandwich, and the portion sizes are huge! I always have a great experience here and will definitely be returning many more times.

Amazing neighborhood spot with sweet and savory crepes that come with potatoes! We ordered the chicken pesto and lyon crepes (lemon mousse with brown butter) and it was my first trying both flavors. The service was fast and you order at the counter and find your own seating. Super casual place that is perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Came here to hangout at the cafe and use their WiFi (free). The cafe was spacious, clean, and played good background music. I ordered a Thai tea (~$5), was decent. I didn't get anything to eat but they had a bunch of customers coming in an out for their food so I'm sure it's good! Will def come back to try some.

Genuinely one of my favorite-ever study spots! This place just feels like home. They are incredibly nice and accommodating. The smoothies are delicious, and the fries are perfectly salted for only $5.50. They also have some tables near outlets in the back.

Let's give a toast to the neighborhood cafés that have survived San Francisco's transformation over the last 20 to 30 years. There aren't many of them. Beanbag is one of the survivors. Homely, basic, friendly and classic. You will find better, small batch, bespoke, coffee, and breakfast sandwiches elsewhere, but you won't get the personality. You won't get the sense of a neighborhood institution. The folks here are friendly, there is free Wi-Fi and a pretty extensive menu. Everything is fine. I usually go for breakfast and Tim never disappointed. If there's anything I don't like about it it's that there are always techies in here having their little techie meetings. Investment this, capitalize on that, scale, blah, blah, blah. But it speaks to that this place is spacious and chill.

Solid place! Cozy, comforting, yummy, no frills. Staff is nice and food is good (pretty basic).

The day that my gf and I went to the Bean Bag Cafe we weren't planning to go. My partner's car had to get towed and we were waiting for the tow truck to come by. We initially stopped by to get some coffee because we were so tired from the night before. We both came in; she ordered an iced matcha latte while I got a hot mocha with oatmilk. The man at the resturaunt was really nice. While we were waiting for our drinks we saw the menu and made a mental note to come back another day. After we dropped of the car to the auto shop we decided to go back because we hadn't eaten anything. The man at the register was surprised to see us again but was really nice. My gf had gotten an eggs Benedict plate. I had the Popeyes eggs Benedict which came with red onions and spinach and I had an extra cup of coffee. We also shared a stack of buttermilk pancakes with strawberries. Everything was delicious. My gf said her potatoes were a little burnt...but mine were fine. They were crispyyy. I think the reason why I gave this place 5 stars was because we were having such a rough day but when we came back and spoke with (what we assumed was) the owner of the restaurant, he made us feel 100% better. He made us feel welcomed and was very enthusiastic that there food was going to warm us up. The place does get a little crowded but is still a nice little area to do some homework. I recommend this spot for college students or small groups of people looking to have great food and a cup of coffee

GET THE BURRITO - SO DAMN JUICY! When you walk in the restaurant, you will need to order at the counter before choosing a seat. I would recommend sitting outside when the weather permits!

The menu is very clear about what you're in for. - Lavender Sgroppino: basically a fancy alcoholic frozen lemonade, everything I wanted it to be! - Irish Coffee and Parmesan: this was... interesting. The base drink, basically a frozen espresso martini, was good, but the topper cheese was SOOO salty. If that's your vibe, try it! We switched out for a brut, which was lovely. The apps were excellent! We got the smoked salmon sliders and the 100 layer, both of which were well-designed and very tasty. Our waiter was excellent. Super attentive without being invasive, very fast service. And the vibe of the place is so cute. Will DEFINITELY be coming back for the full dinner!

We had the French toast sticks, very good, as well as the classic breakfast dish, my partner had the breakfast burrito. Both dishes were decent, but we were there for the company mostly. The restaurant was quaint and cute, more compact, but had a secondary overflow area in a separate part of the restaurant. There were restrooms on both side, and Causewells served as a chill morning for us with our friends. The location had a cute bar set up for evening link ups, and the service was very friendly. The vibe is more of what you go for the food is decent but won't necessarily blow you away. Try them out and see for yourself. The wait on a Wednesday evening was kind of long but doesn't feel too bad when you're with good company. My friend and I waited about an hour around 6:30. The mushroom pizza was very flavorful. The corners and sides were crunchy, it was topped with lots of cheese and mushrooms. It was the perfect amount for 2 people. We also got the olive oil cake which came with a dollop of what I think is whipped cream cheese. It had a strong olive oil flavor, extremely moist and delicious. We were seated at the bar and although it was a little tight, it was nice to be able to look around the decorated area behind the bar. Tons of vinyls and quirky decor. Calibur is the place to get an organic grass fed burger. I got the double cheese burger with Calibur sauce. It was tasty and it had great flavor along with a soft bun. The fresh grass fed cheese burger pairs well to eat with cheese fries in SF. The fries were crispy and saucy and got a bit messy. I've been here quite a few times now, and it has honestly never let me down…read more I usually play it safe and order one of their burgers with fries which, to be fair, is hard to mess up--but on my most recent visit, I decided to try the monthly special: the Crispy Chicken Tacos. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical because it only came with two tacos, and I was starving. I almost ordered a second serving, but I'm so glad I didn't... or maybe I should have because they were that good. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and you could actually taste the hot honey without it overpowering everything else. It paired so well with the corn, slaw, and sauce, creating the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and fresh. And that squeeze of lemon on top? It brought everything together. Easily one of the best specials I've had in a while. One thing I also appreciated was how extensive the menu is. Since I almost always order a burger, I hadn't realized how many options they offer. My friend and I came with our kids, and everyone found something they were excited to eat, which made ordering easy. We grabbed one of the outdoor tables since we stopped by after the lunch rush on a weekday. The seating itself was nice, but be prepared to share the space with some very bold birds. One especially large bird was absolutely determined to steal our food. Obviously that's not the restaurant's fault, but it's worth mentioning if you're hoping for a quiet, uninterrupted meal outside. I can also see this place getting pretty hectic during peak hours, so if your schedule is flexible, I'd recommend stopping by outside the lunch rush. Overall, though, this spot continues to be one of my go-to places, and I'll definitely be back.
