The ambiance is fine, the service was just okay, but the food was really disappointing. I got a cheeseburger. I wanted to try the patty melt that's here on the page, but that's not on the menu. So I got the cheeseburger and it was super-dry and way over-salted. My wife got a chicken paillard. It was super salty and way over-lemony. She couldn't eat the couscous and barely ate the meat. I hate giving bad reviews - restaurants are hard and I'm rooting for them - but this just wasn't great. It wasn't even good. A Whopper Junior with cheese was about the same size, although a third the price, and would've been significantly tastier. I doubt I'll be trying my luck again tomorrow or any other day. read more

This is my first time ever leaving a review on any restaurant/bar and unfortunately it happens to be one of my favorite cocktail bars in the city. This past Friday night, my sister, friend and I came into BLT for a few drinks and bites. We sat at a table inside, had a round of martinis, made by bartender Jeremy (bald white guy) upon yelling that our martinis were ready, he also made a snide comment about us not getting up in time, though maybe 10 seconds had passed since he called for our drink order. Once we finished our first round my friend and I split one more martini and my sister got a beer, we also ordered 4 dishes, which we ate. After eating we wanted a nightcap at the bar. Three barstools finally became available as the place was beginning to clear out some, so we got up from our table and sat at the bar, I informed Jeremy of this and the fact that we wanted a nightcap. We ordered a round of carajillos, they were delicious and I let Jeremy know that, to which he did not respond. My sister wanted to try one of their specialty shots, so the other bartender made us his favorite one, it was delicious and we closed out. Upon closing our tab my sister mentioned wanting another drink, to which Jeremy very rudely told her, " you have had enough for the night, I think it's time you wrap it up, we need to make sure you get home safe". We were all flabbergasted, as we were not exhibiting any behavior that was anywhere close to being drunk. We were having a great night out, we had just spent nearly 150 on food, and we were very polite to everyone around us. We couldn't believe he was literally kicking us out. I have never in my life been asked to leave a place I have paid to be at while exhibiting nothing but appropriate behavior. I have personally also been served many more drinks at BLT, compared to what I consumed that evening and was never asked to leave. It just didn't make sense. You could tell he was annoyed by something and quite honestly his behavior the entire night seemed very manic. I did not observe him have a positive interaction with anyone while we were sitting at the bar. BLT is easily one of the best spots in town and I will be back as I have had nothing but good experiences with everyone else that works there. I just hope their management team sees this and speaks with him on his behavior. I would hate to see BLT lose any customers based on his horrible bedside manner. read more

The drinks here AND the food felt so specialized in the best way! I had the Bourbon Berry Smash and it was perfect and cooling for this Houston heat. The server was knowledgeable and personable, too! They had these Salmon Steak Frites that tasted like two of my favorite foods had a baby. One of the things I loved about Better Luck Tomorrow is the balance of salt and spices. Overall, a solid place for brunch/lunch. The service I felt was a bit slow but the ambiance was chill/casual and a nice outdoor area to catch up with friends. We would've ordered multiple rounds of drinks but our waitress literally didn't come over. I met my friends here on Saturday around 6, the parking lot was almost completely full but we were able to be seated immediately. The patio seating was really nice and relaxing. It was full but we were able to carry a great conversation. We ordered the meatballs for the table and it came with some FANTASTIC garlic bread. It was delicious. They were kind enough to bring out the food for a no contact delivery. The quail was delicious and the Bibb salad filling and well dressed. I love craft cocktails, but the food is just killer. You can tell the menu is crafted with love and creativity. I'm going to start with the highlight of our meal: Brussel Sprouts. No, seriously. The brussels are absolutely massive and have this crispy but tender texture, and it's served with this tangy smoked black garlic sauce topped with macadamia nuts. The textures and umami, tangy flavors are just perfect combos. The steak sammie was really good but a little salty and difficult to eat. The steak was tender and absolutely bomb, though, and the other ingredients really fresh tasty. I'd definitely order it again. The Quail was little to split between two people but I'd like to Scrooge McDuck some veggies in that seasoning and chili oil. They have weekday specials like Tuesday pasta night and Wednesday steak/Fajita night (I think these may rotate) and have a great weekday 12-5 happy hour HH of 1/2 off drinks. Their kitchen is open later than a lot of places (until 11). Last but not least, they are not merely dog tolerant but truly dog friendly. I've been hearing great things about this place and decided to stop by for lunch with my dog. It was a gorgeous day outside and the sign out front states to sit yourself. There's sections of the patio that are covered and have heaters, we sat in the uncovered area. We were greeted by a friendly waitress and were soon served with glasses of water. Happy hour here starts at 12 to 5. 1/2 off cocktails, beer and glasses of wine, a great deal. I got the Louder than Words, great starter. It's with apple brandy, bitters, tamarind, and rye. I also ordered the Party Melt. It came out hot and crisp. The bread was expertly toasted and was topped with crispy parmesan crust. The onions were sweet and accompanied the well seasoned patty. The bibb salad was dressed well with a tangy vinaigrette. The service was friendly and was attentive, the parking had space but it can get tight when it's busy. Hubs and I were starving in the middle of a bar crawl and decided to give it a whirl. The "party melt" with fries at BLT was our absolute favorite and the perfect meal for our crawl. Oh, so good! Don't miss it! The charred chicken sandwich wasn't bad either. The kitchen staff knows what they're doing here for sure. This is a great spot. I got the steak sandwich, I thought it was going to be hot since it is steak but it was cold BUT it was delicious. I'm not sure what sauce is on it but it mixed well and taste so good. The chips comes on the sandwich, but I asked them to put them on the side. They did it exactly as I wanted. The fries are so good. They are well fried and the toppings are well balanced. The drinks are real drinks they don't taste like water they taste like a real cocktail. This was my first time eating here since their recent remodel/rebrand and I am sad to say that I was disappointed. :-( I ordered the mussels & fries and it was very well cooked, but the broth it came with was just wayyy too salty. The first few bites were great but towards the end the roof of my mouth felt so scratchy from the salt. The broth is very rich and flavorful, and would have been perfect with less salt. Came here for brunch with another on a Sunday. It's a cute lil spot that embodies that casual Austinesque Heights feel. The majority of the space is patio, and about half that space is covered patio. There's often a short wait, given the small space I decided on ordering the much talked about fried chicken. The server gave me a little warning that the chicken is pasture raised and the meat possesses some pinkness to the color. I'm cool with that. This chicken is double fried to ensure crispiness, and when it arrived, it was pretty darn crispy! Unfortunately it wasn't in a good way. The batter tasted a bit burned, and it's texture wasn't pleasant. Instead it was overly crunchy and more like a thick shell over the meat. The actual meat inside the fried chicken was delicious though. It definitely had a pronounced chickeny taste to it. I wasn't a fan of the honey butter mashed potatoes. The consistency was very runny, with the consistency of grits. The cocktail was nice though. Overall an interesting place. Just wouldn't come back for the food. read more

There's limited indoor seating and lots of outdoor seating. It was a very trendy atmosphere! The servers were nice and seemed to know the menu well. Ours was able to make recommendations. I got the hanger steak. It was a little bit undercooked for my taste, but it was still delicious. Served on a bed of white beans with a side of mustard. I ordered the Banner Year cocktail. I think I heard too much hype prior to our first, long overdue visit so while we enjoyed it, we didn't love it. Food, drinks, and service are all solid but nothing particularly incredible or memorable. We liked the menu, just didn't feel the food lived up to what we expected. The space is configured weirdly but given the space itself, they did the best they could and the patio areas are really nice. We appreciated the adjacent parking lot as we came with someone recovering from foot surgery.
