This place is right next to my work building and sometimes I go here for a quick breakfast sandwich. They have a variety of pastries in the morning that they seem to go quickly. Service is okay, probably not so consistent. I love croissants and I would get their breakfast croissants and one time I paid extra for avocado and they did not give me avocado at all, but I was already at my office and sat down so I ate it. I recently ate at this place before boarding the Catalina Express across the way, and my experience was pretty disappointing. The salad I ordered was underwhelming, and when I asked for an additional salad dressing, the attitude from one of the staff members was so unnecessary. She walked away shaking her head as if she didn't want to get it, then just set it on the counter and walked away. Additionally, this place is very hard to find. When you look it up on Google, it tells you it's still a mile away. It would be great if this location had more signage to show where it's located. I literally had to ask someone working where it was, and it turned out to be directly behind me. For the price they charge, there wasn't enough protein in the salad either. I came here for lunch and ordered a caramel macchiato. The moment I took a sip, I noticed the caramel syrup had dried up and formed clumps in the drink. I stirred it to see if it would dissolve, and the worker noticed. When I explained the issue, instead of offering to remake the drink, she told me that next time I should ask her to mix the caramel in. That's not how customer service works. The food is very cheap if you get the special lunch as it only costs $12.99 and depends on the menu sometimes you can get 1 main dish, 1 side dish, and 1 free drink included in that special lunch deal. I got the Chorizo Breakfast Burrito and was pretty happy with it, except that it had no chorizo. The first few bites were just egg and potato. The middle had pico de gallo and eggs, and the bottom had eggs and potatoes. I think there was some ground pork somewhere mixed in with eggs at the bottom but I expected chorizo, dripping in spicy oil after cooking it! If they fix the issue with not adding the meat that I ordered, then I'd be a regular. Also please try building the burrito so there is about the same ingredients across a wide bite (eggs, potato, pico de gallo and chorizo). I previously ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl and it had 4 tiny pieces of chicken. I'd be surprised if it even hit a 3 oz portion. It was dry and overcooked yet somehow still cold inside. Same thing with the vegetables. I complained that there was barely any chicken and the cashier told me that's one breast. If that's one breast that chicken must have had a mastectomy. It was terrible. I demanded a refund and I had to argue with them because they wanted to just re-make the dish. A McChicken patty from McDonald's was bigger than the chicken portion. But because it's the only place in the area and I was in a hurry, I had to go back one more time and tried the patty melt. How hard could it be to screw up a burger? Turns out? Pretty easily. First of all they don't season anything. My burger was flavorless. Second of all everything is steamed. They don't put the patty melt on a griddle, they shove it into a panini press. Here's the problem-- the burger was frozen! So what ended up happening is that the outside was nice and crisp... For about three minutes. The excess moisture from the frozen patty murdered any texture, turned the bread into mush, washed away any flavor from the unseasoned red onions, and turned an unpleasant gray. Staff range from friendly to abrasive, as my order took close to 15 minutes to prepare. The kitchen guy had the gall to tell me that my order would be ready when they get to it. Slow service, terrible portions, unpalatable textures and pathetic flavors await you here. Go somewhere else to eat because this place is a genuine waste of time and money. read more

There is a lunch rush most days, which is normal for any restaurant establishment, but the most you will wait is about 10-15 minutes, is that so harsh? I think not. The food has quality ingredients. This review is for the Bites located at the World Trade Center in Long Beach, CA. Our office is located just across the atrium area and we order from here quite frequently; that is until today. When I say every time, I mean EVERY TIME and with EVERY ORDER there is something incorrect. I usually place the orders on line and I am very specific with what I order. EVERY TIME, something about the order is wrong. Today, for example I ordered a salad and I specifically asked for a piece bread with my order - didn't happen. Okay, no biggie...again. The other item I ordered was a 1/2 sandwich and soup combo where I asked that the sandwich be placed on a French Roll. What did they make it with? A HAMBURGER BUN!!! Are you kidding me??? I understand that people sometimes have difficulty understanding, but that is where the manager needs to keep a closer eye on their staff. If they can't cut it, then work with them, help them, teach them, but PLEASE don't allow your orders to go out the door wrong. Get it together, Bites. I've had their tuna sandwich's, both fresh and tuna melt style, and boy, they are delicious! I love that there is chopped onions in the tuna salad and it's properly seasoned as well. Their tuna melt on sourdough is literally the best tuna melt I've ever had, so good! I always get it with a side of salad, and you really get a generous portion of mixed greens and dressing.
