Finally got to try out this small burger spot. Burger was ok and chili cheese fries were ok. I can't really say I'd recommend it here. Only because the burger was small for the price and chili had a sweet taste to it. I won't return, but there were a lot of people here so I'm assuming they like it.

I was craving some chili cheese fries, and I found this place on Yelp. I saw the reviews and was eager to try. The lady at the counter was super pleasant. I asked for the fries to be crispy, so the chili doesn't immediately make them soggy. I opted to eat them in my car, instead of sitting in that heat. The fries weren't crispy, so they were already a bit soggy. I found them to be just okay. I threw out more than half, because they were just soggy.

Top 3 burgers in Long Beach. Tried the deuce and oh my, what an amazing experience. Yes it's a burger, but a great burger is a great burger. Perfect burger patties, chili was tasty and the onions were a perfect pairing. Great French fries, hot and crispy. So happy I finally tried this spot.

Wanted fast food. Found this shack near by. A burger shack that is!. Ordered an original hamburger, #1 Double cheeseburger combo and beast Chilli fries. Took a bite and it was delicous!!! The hamburger tasted like a hybrid of In and Out and a jumbo jack from Jack in the box. The chilli fries was huge! All was delicious.. no complaints. Definitely come back. It is a hidden gem. Must try. Only a few tables out front. Took my food home. Plenty of parking. Make sure you get a receipt, noticed they won't give it to you unless you ask.

Tried Classic Bixby Burger and went with the Bixby double burger with raw onions. The burger was big and stacked high with two juicy patties, melted cheese, and fresh toppings. The raw onions gave it a sharp crunch that cut through the richness of the beef and cheese. The bun was soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together without falling apart. It had that classic neighborhood burger stand feel, straightforward, just solid flavor. Service was quick and friendly, and the food came out hot. The spot has a casual, local vibe. Highly recommend.

Definitely my favorite burger place in LB! I've only been a few times, but I usually get The Big Bixby. It's a massive burger with 4 patties! When I first went, I was a bit worried they wouldn't be able to do a lettuce wrapped version of their burgers. But, they do! I've been trying to decrease the amount of carbs I eat, but still need to feel full. So, eating at Bixby Classic Burger definitely helps with that! The patties themselves are delicious! They taste like In-n-Out patties, but slightly better seasoning. The patties are also a little bit thicker as well. The guy at the window is friendly, patient and takes your orders pretty quickly. The food also comes out SO fast! I really appreciate that because I always come here while on break from work. You'll get the old time-y burger joint on the side of the road feel too. They do have tables you can eat at though. Super cool, super casual. Definitely recommend eating here!

I really thought that I would never find a protein style, (lettuce wrapped, no bun) burger to compare with In n Out. Today I found a burger that's better than In-N-Out which shocks me to say. This is the place. This is the ninth or 10th stop in my Bixby Knolls food tour. Everything was A+. California hotdog- looked delicious. I didn't taste it. Kevin said it was very good. Beast mode fries- covered in cheese, grilled onions, and delicious homemade chili. Well constructed with a lovely cheese pull. Hotdog with ketchup- high quality hotdog with a grilled bun. I like the hotdog/bun ratio to be pretty even and this was. I don't want a bunch of hotdog sticking out of the bun. Lettuce, wrapped single cheeseburger - like I said it's better than In-N-Out. Held together well despite me forgetting to ask for no sauce. That used to be my go to burger at In-N-Out, double-double protein style, no spread, raw onions. Bixby Classic Burgers has ruined all other burgers for me. We also got a single cheeseburger on a bun. I forgot to order grilled onions and they put raw onions which I had asked for. All of the food was fresh and the burger meat was delicious. The service was stellar, friendly staff, and everything in the order was correct. The ambience is hard to describe because it's kind of like a little shack. The tables outside were clean and my food came out well packaged.

I don't have a picture because I ate it all But the burger was so good. I'm pretty easy to please. I like classic-basic cheese burgers. It was so well made. The fries were crispy. I love the calm jazz music they have playing. It really gives it that cute vintage vibe to it. I would have eaten there since it was a nice day out. The lady was extremely nice when she took my order. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with my experience. 10/10. Awesome

Definitely a diamond in the rough. Old school burgers, old school menú, and decent prices for the quality of the burger. I ended up getting a Bixby double with grilled onions ($7) and fries ($4). It's a classic cheeseburger adorned with lettuce, tomatoes, and ketchup and steak fries. Everything was cooked perfectly and super tasty. If you don't feel like a burger, then go with the hotdog or whatever is on the special menu! If you're in the area I would definitely drop by and support this local biz. ( There is also a little ice cream shop in the back if you want dessert afterwards!)

Small business and very delicious. My husband and I have been frequenting this place and we love it. Sometimes we crave an In N Out burger but we feel too lazy to get in line, so we come here instead. Of course, it doesn't replace In N Out, but it does the trick, and the burgers are delicious. You can ask for grilled onions on it. I love their simple menu. My favorite item are the chili cheese fries! Highly recommend! I haven't tried their hot dogs. Their service is also very fast and provide excellent customer service. I always tip them extra because it is a small business and the prices are more than fair, especially in this inflating economy. Also, a few times that I have been there, I've seen really rude middle schoolers who have absolute no manners. So I'd like to give them a little extra. read more

Can't get enough of those chili fries. I keep coming back just for that. The burgers are delicious too as well as the hot dogs. You can tell who the owner is as he is friendly and attentive. This place is a hidden gem and will not disappoint. Not a large menu but what they do here, they do right. read more

This place is down the street from my house and I finally made there for dinner. It was definitely worth it. The burger was perfectly seasoned and tasty. They did not skimp on the cheese on the burger either. The hot dog is on the small side, but still satisfying. The service was friendly and the place was very clean. read more

I was in town with the family. We made our way to Bixby Classic Burger. This amazing place always makes our trips worthwhile. Forget about In N Out. Bixby is way better!!! Give'em a try. You'll be glad you did. The #1 combo and the chili cheese fries are a must. If you're craving a hot dog, try them all. My favorites are The Classic and The Long Beach. Yummy!!! read more

Love this place! I get the cheeseburger with veggie patty, and I would guess this is what a veggie burger would taste like if In-N-Out Burger had one. And I like the fries more than In-N-Out. Bixby Classic Burger is my new favorite place to get a burger, and the people that work there are really nice! This place gives in-n-out a run for their money. I had the Bixby Double and my only complaint was not enough onions but for someone like me you can NEVER have enough onion. Will definitely be coming. Great and quick customer service. read more

Wanted to like this place but there are several problems. Parking is limited , there's no seating , so you eat in your car or take it home. I could overlook those things IF the food was great but sadly it's not. I asked for a double cheese burger but only got a single. It was a thin patty , wimpy lettuce and sliver of onion . No real taste. Fries were burned and dry. Just not very good food . read more

Been meaning to try this place since it opened and glad I did! Every burger I try I want to immediately compare to In n Out, and dare I say this one was better? I couldn't believe it. The patties were perfect, the onion, lettuce, tomato perfectly cut and fresh, and the bun was very good as well. Fries were also well seasoned and cooked, the only thing is I wish they had ranch. But I will be back, especially to try their specialty burgers. If you are going for the first time you can't go wrong with the cheeseburger or the double. Also I wish they were open later because this is the perfect late night burger. read more

This is our favorite burger spot in Long Beach! We love this place. The owner is also super nice and even ordered shirts for us. The burgers are fresh, made to order, and use high quality ingredients. We don't live near Bixby Knolls but every time we are in the neighborhood, we stop by for burgers and fries. read more

I tried this place out today as it had 5 stars! Well i wouldn't give it 5 stars as you can see i gave it 3 as the fries were on point but the burger not so much. I got the cheese burger and we'll the single patty meat was so thin almost didn't even know there was meat inside the buns. To get the right ratio the burger patty needs to be twice as thick! Also the cheese was cheap, tasted like Kraft singles which isn't bad but also not that great! If they doubled the meat patty and got some real cheese not imitation this would be the spot to go. I hope they make changes as they have only been open 4 months and their was no line during lunch. read more

This is a solid burger joint. Good quality beef patties, fresh vegetables. Though, my double cheeseburger did slide around quite a bit - I had to push the lettuce back in with every bite because it kept sliding off the burger, and honestly, there was a little too much lettuce in the first place, though I do enjoy crisp iceberg in a burger, it was excessive. Fries were excellent - crisp outside, tender in the middle. One side note: I asked them to throw some pepper in the bag, meaning black pepper packets, which are essential for me. Gotta have some black pepper on a burger. They threw in a little bag of pickled hot peppers instead...What??? Fortunately, I had some spare pepper packets in my drawer at work. Next time, I'll be sure to clarify. read more

Had a shamefully large lunch here since we were moving out of the area and they just opened. The fries were great, they have that seasoning that reminds me of little league baseball games. The hamburger was also great, a fine alternative to in n out of you want to keep it different. The hot dog was only ok. read more

OMG! The burgers from this burger stand are absolutely delicious. Seeing this new clean and simple burger spot open up,after years of the area being vacant due to other burger owners, is a relief. I remember when this same spot used to be Brandys burgers and this place is hands down an AMAZING burger and hot dog joint. The box by burger was so good and filling and the prices best all the competitors. A homemade burger taste that are seasoned perfectly. As I waited for my order the owner and I were chatting and he is such a cool dude! I would recommend this place and the service was fast. I definitely will be coming back! Probably the only con is that it's not open later! I live within walking distance, but don't get home from work before their 6pm closing time... Totally understand that it's probably not possible logistically, so am fine being able to go for lunch on Saturday to enjoy the fresh burgers, friendly and attentive staff and great prices! read more

Had my first burger last week and it was really really good. Very nostalgic simple classic burger with cheese l, pickles and thousand island dressing. Very yummy. Been planning my next visit ever since. And, what a bargain at I remember if being like $3.75??? Not a big burger with single patty but just right for my appetite or the kids. They're by the bus stop (At The Promenade) and right next to the Bike Station on E 1st St. And Long Beach Blvd. in Long Beach, Monday - Friday from about 11am until 2pm, sometimes a little early to a little later. I recommend them, and have been fattening up on these for lunch occasionally for the last 2 years. At $4 for a dog, chips and a drink you can't go wrong.

We were seated outside, which also looked nice at first glance, but I noticed quite a few spider webs around the windows. My boyfriend even felt webs brushing against his arm while we were sitting there, which wasn't exactly the extra ambiance we were expecting. We ordered quite a bit: spicy Pad Thai, Bang Bang Shrimp, Pad See Ew, mango sticky rice, and of course the Thai tea with the popsicle. I'll give credit where it's due. The Bang Bang Shrimp was easily the best thing we ordered and was absolutely delicious. The Thai tea popsicle also lived up to the TikTok hype, although the actual Thai tea itself was on the sweeter side. If you love sugar, you'll probably enjoy it. My biggest complaint with the food was the spicy Pad Thai. The flavor was great, but it came with what felt like a whole chicken farm and a cameo appearance from the noodles. I ordered Pad Thai, not chicken with noodle garnish. The Pad See Ew was also noticeably salty. Now you're probably wondering why I'm giving this place a low rating if most of the food was decent. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. When it was time to pay, my aunt was figuring out how much everyone needed to Zelle her since the restaurant only allows a maximum of two cards for split payments. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. If anything I felt rushed. He also gave off that "customer service smile" that disappears the moment you stop looking. The cherry on top for me happened as we were leaving. We had been sitting on the outdoor patio talking for a bit after paying, which is pretty normal for my family. Before leaving, I went inside to ask where the restroom was. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.

I definitely will come back to try other dishes, especially the other popular pasta dishes. This place has been really popular and I heard the line is still long even after a few months (or maybe it has been a year now?). Definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Italian food in town. Very hip, vibey place, and delicious food!
