Finally got to try out this small burger spot. Burger was ok and chili cheese fries were ok. I can't really say I'd recommend it here. Only because the burger was small for the price and chili had a sweet taste to it. I won't return, but there were a lot of people here so I'm assuming they like it.

I was craving some chili cheese fries, and I found this place on Yelp. I saw the reviews and was eager to try. The lady at the counter was super pleasant. I asked for the fries to be crispy, so the chili doesn't immediately make them soggy. I opted to eat them in my car, instead of sitting in that heat. The fries weren't crispy, so they were already a bit soggy. I found them to be just okay. I threw out more than half, because they were just soggy.

Top 3 burgers in Long Beach. Tried the deuce and oh my, what an amazing experience. Yes it's a burger, but a great burger is a great burger. Perfect burger patties, chili was tasty and the onions were a perfect pairing. Great French fries, hot and crispy. So happy I finally tried this spot.

Wanted fast food. Found this shack near by. A burger shack that is!. Ordered an original hamburger, #1 Double cheeseburger combo and beast Chilli fries. Took a bite and it was delicous!!! The hamburger tasted like a hybrid of In and Out and a jumbo jack from Jack in the box. The chilli fries was huge! All was delicious.. no complaints. Definitely come back. It is a hidden gem. Must try. Only a few tables out front. Took my food home. Plenty of parking. Make sure you get a receipt, noticed they won't give it to you unless you ask.

Tried Classic Bixby Burger and went with the Bixby double burger with raw onions. The burger was big and stacked high with two juicy patties, melted cheese, and fresh toppings. The raw onions gave it a sharp crunch that cut through the richness of the beef and cheese. The bun was soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together without falling apart. It had that classic neighborhood burger stand feel, straightforward, just solid flavor. Service was quick and friendly, and the food came out hot. The spot has a casual, local vibe. Highly recommend.

Definitely my favorite burger place in LB! I've only been a few times, but I usually get The Big Bixby. It's a massive burger with 4 patties! When I first went, I was a bit worried they wouldn't be able to do a lettuce wrapped version of their burgers. But, they do! I've been trying to decrease the amount of carbs I eat, but still need to feel full. So, eating at Bixby Classic Burger definitely helps with that! The patties themselves are delicious! They taste like In-n-Out patties, but slightly better seasoning. The patties are also a little bit thicker as well. The guy at the window is friendly, patient and takes your orders pretty quickly. The food also comes out SO fast! I really appreciate that because I always come here while on break from work. You'll get the old time-y burger joint on the side of the road feel too. They do have tables you can eat at though. Super cool, super casual. Definitely recommend eating here!

I really thought that I would never find a protein style, (lettuce wrapped, no bun) burger to compare with In n Out. Today I found a burger that's better than In-N-Out which shocks me to say. This is the place. This is the ninth or 10th stop in my Bixby Knolls food tour. Everything was A+. California hotdog- looked delicious. I didn't taste it. Kevin said it was very good. Beast mode fries- covered in cheese, grilled onions, and delicious homemade chili. Well constructed with a lovely cheese pull. Hotdog with ketchup- high quality hotdog with a grilled bun. I like the hotdog/bun ratio to be pretty even and this was. I don't want a bunch of hotdog sticking out of the bun. Lettuce, wrapped single cheeseburger - like I said it's better than In-N-Out. Held together well despite me forgetting to ask for no sauce. That used to be my go to burger at In-N-Out, double-double protein style, no spread, raw onions. Bixby Classic Burgers has ruined all other burgers for me. We also got a single cheeseburger on a bun. I forgot to order grilled onions and they put raw onions which I had asked for. All of the food was fresh and the burger meat was delicious. The service was stellar, friendly staff, and everything in the order was correct. The ambience is hard to describe because it's kind of like a little shack. The tables outside were clean and my food came out well packaged.

I don't have a picture because I ate it all But the burger was so good. I'm pretty easy to please. I like classic-basic cheese burgers. It was so well made. The fries were crispy. I love the calm jazz music they have playing. It really gives it that cute vintage vibe to it. I would have eaten there since it was a nice day out. The lady was extremely nice when she took my order. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with my experience. 10/10. Awesome

Definitely a diamond in the rough. Old school burgers, old school menú, and decent prices for the quality of the burger. I ended up getting a Bixby double with grilled onions ($7) and fries ($4). It's a classic cheeseburger adorned with lettuce, tomatoes, and ketchup and steak fries. Everything was cooked perfectly and super tasty. If you don't feel like a burger, then go with the hotdog or whatever is on the special menu! If you're in the area I would definitely drop by and support this local biz. ( There is also a little ice cream shop in the back if you want dessert afterwards!)

I was a loyal fan of this restaurant until I was overcharged for a cheeseburger and fries. It was $8.27, which seemed the right price for the bixby classic double and fries. I complained but the person who was the cashier was not the usual cashier, the owner of the business. I asked the cashier about the mistake and he denied the fact that he had mischarged me. I complained and wrote the owner about the issue and he never responded to my message through yelp. Since then, I have never gone back to the restaurant. I did like the taste of the burgers, and the fries. What I couldn't shake was being ignored by a member of his staff regarding my complaint as well as the owner ignoring my yelp message. I'll probably not frequent this restaurant due to the poor customer service experience I had one time. read more

Updated because I just realized that I put 3 starts instead of 1... My son's classmate said this place had good food and suggested that he should check it out. The restaurant reminded me of a classic diner with local favorite vibes. We ordered the California dog, the Deuce with lettuce and tomato, the #1 combo and upgraded the fries to Beast Mode. The prices are reasonable and the customer service was great. We ordered our food to go and the hostess brought our meal and drinks in a cardboard box. As we were waiting I noticed a cockroach crawling around the outside of the building--but it was outdoors so I didn't care. Driving home my son pulled out the menu that they stuck in the box and a roach flew out into my car. I have no clue where it went and hope that it doesn't multiply in the vehicle. The food was like a regular burger joint, nothing special. The onions on the Beast Mode fries were burnt not grilled. We traveled 17 miles to try this place out and we will not be returning. Please take care of your pest control issues!!! read more

Very standard burgers and dogs. Prices seem good, but otherwise I'm not sure if anything was noteworthy. It was cooked well and good quality, very fresh, but also just so standard. Like to the point of being a bit boring lol. The pictures made it look way better than it actually was for me unfortunately. read more

Man, where do I even begin? Alright, let's just say this. I've lost my interest in all these instagrammable craft burgers. Sometimes (or most of the time now), I just want a nice simple classic ass burger. And Bixby is JUST that. The owner is cool as hell, and loves starting conversations with you. That's right you introverts, get ready to talk. What makes the burger delicious? Again, it just has that classic simple style burger that removes all the unnecessary BS, yet the flavor was extremely delightful. There was a little "Sweet" taste on the burgers which makes it even better. The fries were pretty damn good too. Again, nothing crazy. Just simple french fries to go with your burger. I love how this is a little "joint" that brings that classic feel. Now, if only they add a classic car parked in front of it just to give it more of that "vibe" that would be great :). Definitely coming back. read more

This place is owned and operated by very friendly gentleman who employs a professional and efficient staff (only one young man that I've seen - I've only been twice). Bixby Classic definitely gives old school burger shack vibes, serving simple yet delicious menu items. I've only tried the Cheese burger, Double Cheese Burger, and the Chili Cheese Fries, but everything else looks soooo good. The burgers are wonderfully tasty, and earns the name "classic". Millennials and older will no doubt appreciate the nostalgia that the flavor and aesthetics give off. This isn't your fancy, raised pinky, craft burger. This is a juicy piece of Americana that people across cultures can all enjoy. Toasted bun, grilled onions, juicy beef and melted cheese... the only thing missing is you. read more

This traditional style burger was an experience for the senses. The style is similar to in n out however the taste and freshness was better. The items that you expect to nice and warm were and the cool and fresh ones were awesome to hear crunch, like that iceberg lettuce. The fries were perfectly salted, most places over salt these days. We ate the food there so not sure how it would change as more time goes by in a bag. Highly recommend to eat your food there if tables are available. Service was awesome and a great little old school spot to street watch, take some time to relax/breathe and enjoy a nice sunny day in Long Beach. read more

The classic bixby burger shack just recently opened. We tried it for dinner tonight. My hubby had the #1combo (double cheeseburger, fries, fountain drink), and I ordered the regular hamburger. There was a line but it went fast. I liked my burger because the b7n was soft and the lettuce was nice and crispy. Everything was yummy. My hubby enjoyed his burger as well. I want to try the hot dogs next time. I forgot to mention they accept credit cards which the previous place did not. I appreciate that these days. read more

Food is okay... chili needs work. If he would simply drop a chili brick in his existing chili... he would wow his customers. The cheap can chili by itself isn't it! The guys running the place are cool. The 2 times I went they screwed up my order. read more

Got a love the new spot. Went in last week to try out the new burgers man oh man I was not disappointed. They were so good I went back the next day for two more. The taste of the the burgers is incredible the owner is a nice guy, and the service is incredible. The fries are great too! Advice: if you have an appetite, order two burgers because they are smaller than your normal burgers, but for the price they are well worth it! Will definitely be back for more. Great addition to the neighborhood! read more

Great burger spot in Bixby with a fairly simple menu. All it consists of is a walk up window with a few tables if you want to eat there. Ordered the double combo and it was ready in less than 10 minutes. So wonderful to have a fresh, made to order burger and fries combo. Burger and fries were spot on. I can't wait to return and try the rest of the menu. read more

I ordered a cheeseburger to go the lady stated " It will be ready in 5min. I arrive to see cashier coming outside to family sitting at patio table with bags of food. The cashier takes a bag off table goes back inside. I told her I called in a cheeseburger she gives me the bag. I ask her "Did you just get that bag from the table outside she says yes" I asked for a fresh burger to be made. She stated the didn't touch your burger. I told her I didn't want it. The food left OUT the establishment. The new burger wasn't freshly cooked to order. They cook alot of patties put them in steel Classic Cheeseburger cook a 2nd time warm it on the grill as you order.. REALLY WHAT THE HECK read more

The lady was nice but food was very nasty wouldn't come back here ever again waste of my $23 dollars . I am very disappointed only thing good was my coke my boyfriend burger had three thick slices of square cheese on it with a handful of lettuce i had like 6 onions on my burger meat was skimpy like i literally could have just went to Wendy's it's wrong asf to even prepare somebody food like that and give it to them it's really messed up when u try to give places a chance and this just really shows why i cook or eat at the same places i regularly do . I was on my way to another burger place when I spotted these guys. Glad I stopped and checked it out. Perfect burger at a good price. I've been looking for a place that makes a burger that tastes homeade and this is the place. Nothing fancy, just fresh ingredients and the right size serving. Most places give you away too many fries and the burgers are usually too big and messy. I work in the area a lot so I'll be stopping by often. oh and they have hot dogs too, I haven't tried that yet but will soon. Nice friendly service too. read more

WOW! great start. been waiting for this place to open for awhile and finally. Freakin delicious. Great burger and fries here! I would say that it's kind of halfway between In 'n Out and Mr. Pete's/Fantastic Burger. The best of both worlds - larger burger, but not as messy as Mr. Pete's or Fantastic. The fries are also better - slightly smaller, definitely more crispy and higher quality, and with the Lawry's red seasoning. Really great. The only thing I would say that Fantastic has on it is that when you order a "regular" coke at Fantastic, they give you a gigantic coke, whereas here it's more of a "medium" or "small" coke, even. I haven't been to Mr. Pete's in a while, but would definitely rather go to Bixby Classic Burger! Plus, they have amazing looking hot dogs that I need to try! The only thing I remember from the old Dave's burgers before was that the meat was seasoned at Dave's, kind of like how it's seasoned at Fatburger. Just some salt/pepper and maybe some other stuff. This burger meat is just standard burger meat, with very little seasoning if at all. Just like Fantastic and Mr. Pete's. So, I kinda miss that seasoning. read more

well as if Bixby Classic burger couldn't get any better, they now officially have shakes and cones. They have the best burgers and fries. We have been loyal customers for quite a while. The seating is out doors and the building is painted to represent a good old burger joint. Please come by and let Raul take care of you. Also, the hot dogs are wonderful. read more

Love this local spot! Tried for the first time earlier today, and I'm definitely hooked. I was conservative on my selection and went with a classic cheeseburger with extra grilled onions. Loved it! I've been here many times. This is not your typical burger stand on the corner. The service and food is great every time and my picky family is always happy. The owner takes pride in keeping this place nice and clean. The counter, tables and windows are always spotless. I like the vibe of Bixby Classic Burger but I really love how clean this place is. read more

They have a veggie patty option but I just like to get the regular cheeseburger without a meat patty-vegetarian and all the good stuff you want in a burger. This place is great. After seeing a lot of friends Post on social media about it I had to try it out. I must say the beast mode fries are delicious burgers are great. Raul customer service was pleasant. To top it off the cook had a mask which may not mean much to most people but was the deciding factor for us. Overall great place to eat, nice location, friendly staff, and affordable. Don't sleep on this mom and pop burger shops!! I will definitely be back, thanks Raul! read more

The service here is excellent. Usually I just order and that's it, no smile, no "would you like anything else". This place gave me my meal and offered options to go along with my purchase. They definitely uphold me. The burgers were really good. Juicy patty, warm and super soft bun, the perfect burger! All my friends liked what they ordered too. Classic taste and nice ambiance. All I can say is if your looking for a delicious burger and great customer service then this is the place!!!!! Me and my girlfriend stopped a few weeks ago got some burgers and they didn't even make it home (we live 5-6 min away from the place lol) 2 days later we're back tried something different and still the food never made it home. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.

It was served with some salad that's very refreshing. The server explained to us that the original dish comes with the greens and cherry tomatoes underneath the meat, but they serve it separately to keep the freshness and crunch. The meat has some nice crust on the outside, very flavorful. We ended up taking some of the ribeye home, as we were already really full. It was plenty of food to share between two people. I definitely will come back to try other dishes, especially the other popular pasta dishes. This place has been really popular and I heard the line is still long even after a few months (or maybe it has been a year now?). Definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Italian food in town. Very hip, vibey place, and delicious food!

Our server suggested pepperoni for kids, a sausage & ??? in a white sauce that was so well balanced by the flavors, both delicate & bold. Then, the specialty pizza of the day, prochetta and peaches with dabbles of ricotta! It's was almost decadent with the creamy sweetness and salt. On top of all this, a rotating 21 tap bar of beer selections from all around world along with a deep/wide selection of delicious wines. Tons of free parking. Service was outstanding.
