Now let me go to the service. We sat in the bar area (12/23/22) and the place was very empty. The waiter did a good job, it was the guys behind the bar that sucked. BJ's has a great menu. We went for Prime Rib night on Friday. My husband loves prime rib. It was dry and not very edible. I ordered wings and they were good. Their pizookies are always wonderful. Our server seemed new. He was just ok. He was attentive in the beginning then didn't come back to check on us after our food came. We had to track down someone else for something he missed. Came to this location for a late night munchies. To me late night munchies begin after 7PM. We arrived here after 8PM and got seated right away. Lucky for the no wait time for a table of two individuals at this time on Saturday evening. After being seated, Tabitha came and introduced herself as our server and asked for our drinks. I opted for a Rosé Raspberry Rita as it caught my eye on the menu upon glancing within the beverages section. My friend ordered herself water to start off the evening. My beverage tasted delicious and refreshing! I would totally go back just to order it again! The Raspberry Rosé Rita 5/5! I had already had dinner before coming here, so I opted for an appetizer plate. I ordered a calamari. It was okay to my tastebuds, but felt that it was salty. Came to an impromptu family dinner with my mom, pops, and boyfriend. We came here and it was crazy busy, we had a 40-50 minute wait. Which is fairly unusual for when we come, this is my dad's fav, so we come often. Anyways, once we were seated we were greeted fairly soon by our waiter. We placed our drink and appetizer order. He came back shortly after and stated that they were out of "Jeremiah Red" beer which is really the only reason my dad likes this place so much, and the only reason we come here. So that was an annoying start but my dad ordered something else and was indifferent about it. I also didn't receive my sauces for my appetizer and didn't get a straw until majority of my ice was melted in my drink, I had to ask multiple times. Everyone's food was very mediocre none of use were happy and all agreed it was just "edible." My dad ordered a power bowl and yet again our waiter came back again shortly and let us know they were out of guacamole and therefore could not complete that order. He wasn't apologetic either time and when my mom just asked for the meal discounted he flat out told her "no order something else" In the end my father and mother ordered salmon my boyfriend ordered spaghetti and meatballs and I ordered wings. Customer service wise, I wasn't too happy with our waiter he was very prompt with the tables next to use and didn't really check on us, I also didn't appreciate him constantly ignoring my mother when she spoke and speaking over her. That is just plain rude. All in all, not a desirable experience. We ordered a carry out pizza on Thursday on the internet. They had a 50% off deal and we had some friend's pizza that had looked really good from BJ's. They also had a special so you could get a free dessert! I ordered the pizza & put in the code and did whatever was required for the dessert and I didn't get the 50% off. I called the store and the manager said they would have to let the Accounting department (or somebody) know and it would be 2-3 days be dire we'd see the credit on our credit card! When my husband got to the store they gave him the store they gave him the credit in cash. However, when he got home, we realized we didn't receive the free dessert. The pizza we ordered was the thin crust, so it was the oblong one. That was fine. The pizza was automatically supposed to have their 5 cheese blend - we could hardly see it. The items on the pizza were sparse in a some spaces where we would only have one olive or one pice of meat on a square. We won't be ordering again. You read more

So let me tell you first, it's never the problem that a customer remembers, it's the way the problem is handled. We are in the Plano location weekly. Today was the anniversary of the passing of my father in law. So we chose BJs. Ordered the dinner Italian pasta and after eating a few bites, saw it was partially raw. Server took it to the back. Here's where the problem arose. Tony the manager came out and his words were... "Would you like the chicken cooked more crispy?" I said no I want it cooked. His reply was it wasn't raw. Well he picked the wrong person to debate that with. I have been in the full service hospitality business for 34 years, owned 2 restaurants for 10 years and currently licensed in 50 states to do food inspections on 184 food establishments. I know raw chicken. And my mother in law saw it. At this point, Tony stormed off and said we will cook it crispy. Seriously? I canceled my meal! I am appalled at his reaction and we both made the choice, even though we love BJs, we will not be frequenting the Plano location as long as Tony is at that location. read more

Went in around 10:30pm last night (Wednesday) and started with our server slow to get to our table and take our drink order (10+ minutes). The Manager saw the delay and stepped in to get our drink and food order (by this time we had already decided what we wanted to eat). My son was deciding between two entrees and the manager recommended the pasta dish (which was great!!). The food came out quickly and everything tasted great. I have eaten at BJs many many times with great success regarding their beers and various foods. This review concerns one of their appetizer items: the hickory smoked sausage. Do not order. Now for the details. The first appearance reminds me of a hot dog vs sausage. The insides of the "sausage" looks like a cat food. I asked the bar manager what was the sausage. After he spoke with the manager he was informed a combination of chicken and beef. After two slices of the sausage it occurred to me it was not edible to eat and returned it. The bar manager asked me how I liked it and i offered a piece to him to eat and he refused. I will continue to go to BJ's to enjoy happy hour as well as lunches and dinner. I would not recommend getting the hickory smoked sausage and hope they remove it from their menu as it is not a good representation of the quality of food that is developed and presented to customers by BJ's. read more

Me, my sister and Mother ate here after shopping. my sister had a Chicken Salad that was huge. My Mother had the California Chicken Club, and I had the Smoked Salmon With Cherry Sauce. All three of us loved our meal! The Smoked Salmon With The Cherry Sauce was so good! I have eaten at many white table cloth fancy restaurants and this dish blow every dish away that I have had at every fancy restaurant. Totally Delicious! My Sister and Mother both had margaritas and I had a mixed strawberry drink that tasted like strawberry cheesecake! That drink was so good. Also, I guess due to the size, you not only have your waiter, but there is another person floating around making sure every table was alright. I enjoyed coming here with a group, but this time in November would be the last time I visited. I came with my boyfriend and we were utterly excited about the clam chowder in a bread bowl. It came hot and delicious as we ate the bread and soup. I always check eating utensils before using them, but I decided not to for the spoon that came with our food plates. Why? Because I trust that it was clean and that the server or chef that prepared the plate would've scanned to see that it was a decent clean spoon. I've worked in the restaurant industry before, so it is upon instinct as servers to check that dishes are satisfactory for consumption. Coming back to the bread bowl and chowder, I dip the spoon into the soup for a sip of hot chowder and that was when I tasted chocolate... I looked at the back of the spoon and saw some sort of brownie that never washed off. I still can't believe it. After scrapping the back of the spoon against the rim of the plate, my boyfriend and I watched in disbelief. Now, going back to how I've been in the restaurant industry: most busy restaurants have at least a two-step cleaning process. 1) Wash the dishes either manually or by machine. 2) Sanitize the dishes with hot air or water. Clearly, this spoon missed out on a step or two because there is no excuse for it to be that dirty! We caught our server's attention to describe the situation. He was smirking and laughed a bit before asking if I wanted another spoon. Excuse me? I lost my appetite and I'm pretty sure my boyfriend did, too. I think the server was under the influence of something because his behavior was unusual from the start and he wasn't so professional during this situation. He confessed that he doesn't know what I want or what to do to help, so I requested to cancel my order. Unfortunately, the other bread bowl had to be paid although my boyfriend lost his appetite and barely touched his food after the ordeal. This experience really killed the night for me and so did my perspective of this franchise. I was really starting to like BJ's because it's hard to find a place that offers bread bowls, but they missed that opportunity with the service and sanitation. Aside from this situation, I've gone many times for pizookies or dinner. Pizookies are great, but sometimes you don't get nice service if you come for their pizookies specials, so make sure you tip well for the work put into offering cheap pizookies. Went in here in the middle of March in the evening, no wait to get a seat even though it's fairly busy. Usually I go in with the intention of ordering different things on the menu, but for the most part, end up ordering pizza. I love their pizza here! The last non-pizza dinner I had was the fish and chips and it was tasty. My daughter sticks with the sliders and she likes those. The last few times I've been in, Service has been pretty good, no complaints or issues.
