Here on a Sunday afternoon. Space is very relaxed, airy and chill. Sydney is an excellent server. Warm quest with hamburger is a great appetizer. The margaritas are deliciously imaginative. We had the Las Frutas, strawberry and mandarin, jalapeño and pineapple and the frozen grapefruit. All were so good. The enchilada trio and spicy tiger shrimp fajitas for our main course. Overall good Mexican fresh takes on some cool Mexican dishes. I stepped out and tried their more vegetarian taco Bowl which was excellent! At the recommendation of the waitress I also order the steak but it took so long to come out I had them pretty much separate. The flank steak had great flavor. I'd recommend it. The salsa is and chips are a great touch but they are canned not fresh. Everything else was made to order. Next time I'll try a margarita. Order: Strawberry clementine mimosa & Chilequiles verdes (sunny side up eggs, salsa verde, black beans, oaxaca cheese). This mimosa was SO good; the fresh ingredients blended well together making a gentle citrusy, slightly sweet brunch compliment. The Chilequiles were also delicious! Fresh chips, salsa, black beans and Oaxaca cheese hot under an umbrella of 2 perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs. Flavors were all there, and try the in-house hot sauce if you're a fan of spicy like I am, it's hot and VERY good. I'll be coming back, with more friends to try the rest of the menu :) read more

I had a carne asada burrito from the to go counter and it was small! For the price of the burrito it should've been significantly bigger ($25 for a burrito, chips and drink). The burrito had very little meat, a ton of cheese and very little beans in it. The chips and salsa were ok, however, the salsa needs to be a little bit more spicy. From the hostess (who gave us a free appetizer because they were late in seating us) to our waiter Mauricio - the service couldn't have been better. This restaurant should "sell" their customer service training to almost all other restaurants in Coronado and San Diego - it was that good! For the price (moderate) the food was good enough. The guacamole was way too salty. Although the server said that the entree plate was very hot, the cheese enchilada (and the chicken tortilla soup) were just warm and did not seem as if they came right from being cooked to our table. The pork verde burrito was fine although the tortilla wrap was soggy. The soup and entrees were somewhat bland and not as flavorful as we expected them to be. The most tasty item on the dish was the rice. The chocolate three leches cake was a nice end to our meal. The ambiance was very good. Unlike some other very popular restaurants in Coronado, the noise level was low enough so that we did not have to raise our voices to hear each other. Even though the service was outstanding - - there are many other moderately priced restaurant with much better food in our area and so we will seek them out before considering returning to Blanco Cocina. read more

The space is very roomy with nice, subdued lighting, and lots of fun decor. We started off with guacamole and queso. I don't really eat cheese, so I can't speak to the queso, but the guacamole was good. For my entree, I got the chile verde burrito which came with beans and rice. I loved the salty whole beans, but the rice was really bland and mushy. The burrito was pretty good, but could have used some time on the grill to add a little textural variety. They made me a custom margarita according to my specifications, even recommending a tequila from their extensive collection. We started with the Queso Fundido appetizer which comes with handmade flour tortillas, the thin kind. It was delicious, a generous serving, and I could've made a meal from it. For my entree I chose the Tucson Chimichanga filled with chicken tinga. Wow!! It was ginormous and came with either refried pinto or black beans, guacamole, and rice.
