This cute little boba shop hidden in the back alley of the Ice Cream Way and behind a bar has one person working inside it and it gets quite cramped and hot once the sun drops down into the window. This place can be easy to miss especially when it's hidden in an alley way amongst all the other restaurants and shops nearby. When I went, there was an old asian lady working by herself. I ordered the wintermelon green tea while my boyfriend had the peach pineapple tea. The drinks tasted horrible! Mine wasn't as bad as the peach pineapple tea but there wasn't anything special about it. You can tell the drinks are made with a whole bunch of syrup and tea that wasn't thoroughly mixed. The peach pineapple tea was WAAAY TOOO SOUR. For $5 for a drink including boba, it was just so bad. The quality of the boba, unfortunately, does not live up to the name of this place (which is so clever). The pearls taste bland and rough. The taro milk tea comes from real taro, not some syrup or powder, but I've had better taro elsewhere. Would give 0 stars if I could. Just walked here which I was excited to try because I liked the name and the pork skewer looked good. Walked in, checked out the menu. Lady at the counter stared at her phone, didn't say hi or even look up. Ohk, figured this was whatever since I'm still chexk in out the menu. We just happened to pass this little place in the alleyway. I've been drinking Vietnamese coffee all my life, and I will go out on a limb and say this was probably my best one. I felt they hit the right balance of coffee and sweetness. Most I've had at pho restaurants are too sweet. If anything, give it a try. Tucked away in the corner Bobosaur seems like a good little boba store. There are several signs to help you find it and the doors were open which seemed very inviting. There are no public restrooms since it is a very tiny place. There were seats and a tiny table to sit out but I think it was too tiny to enjoy. The worker was very nice and greeted us with a smile. I ordered a peach and mango tea with boba and here is only one size: 16oz. The first thing I noticed when I got it was that the lid wasn't sealed shut like other boba places. Boba was slightly too mushy for my liking and the Hokkaido milk tea had a weird (powdery?) taste. I also asked for less ice, so when I got handed my drink, the worker explained to me that's why my drink wasn't full. Okay then. Ugh. Gross tea, bad customer service. But the "green tea" they had here is nothing like a typical green tea one would get from the store or a Japanese restaurant. It's a bright artificial green color with a hint of sweet/bitter taste that I quite can't put my finger on. I asked for no sugar to begin with for a peach green tea with boba and it came back way too sweet and off tasting. So I switched it for a plain green tea which was again, too sweet. I showed her photos of regular green tea i wanted on google to make sure they understood and it seems like there was still a disconnect. After all of that, I just wanted my money back but felt a huge push back from the worker there. I took full ownership and chalked it up to differing definitions of what "green tea" is but they still wouldn't refund me. you're better off at Banzai Bowls. RESPONSE: I said no additional sugar added to the peach green tea. I do understand that peach syrup makes the tea have sweetness. But once again, I understand that misunderstandings happen. She claimed they were both really good so we took a chance and got an order of each with my Hokkaido milk tea with boba. Let me say the Hokkaido milk tea was very sweet. We didn't look at the food until we got back to our hotel room. I ended up adding ice to the milk tea. It was way too sweet for my liking. The pork egg rolls were nothing special. I've had these time and time again. One of them was fried up so bad that it was burnt. The lemongrass pork skewers were also overdone (burnt) that it was dry and flavorless. Cute boba shop with clean interior. They have various flavors of boba milk and boba fruit tea. The shop is hidden from the main foot traffic area, getting to the location following the signs remind me of a treasure hunt. I only saw one food item which are the egg rolls. The egg rolls come with a dipping sauce of choice, either sweet and sour or fish sauce. The tea is good and the egg rolls are tasty. It's an average boba shop compared to various boba shops that I've had. Although it's an average shop, taking it to go and eating by the beach is such a joyous experience I had to give it an extra star. read more
