I was looking for a new place with decent food, good coffee, enough seating, and free wifi to do some work in. I was a bit skeptical to come here but I am so happy I checked it out. I will be back again! There's a little parking lot on the side and plenty of metered street/neighborhood parking. There are a good amount of seats and the place is actually bigger inside than it looks from the outside. I think they've really done a good job maximizing the space. The ambiance? Incredible. I came on a Sunday early afternoon and found a comfortable spot to work in and eat my lunch. There were outlets at the bar so I noticed people needing to charge were sitting there. I ordered the avocado toast with an egg and an iced mocha with almond milk. The avocado toast was yummy but I was a bit disappointed on how tiny the egg was. For an additional $3, I expected something more. The iced mocha was more bitter than I'm used to, but still good. Next time I go, I'll explore the other menu options. Giving it 5-stars because of how much I enjoyed the vibe and the space for what I was looking for. I'm excited to be back soon! read more

I actually stopped here to use the loo and grab a java for the road, but it was so chill and inviting inside I had to come back for lunch. I know it says 'wine bar'- and it very much is- but the coffee and food are probably my favorite part of this establishment. Regardless of what you order, they have comfy stools at the communal tables, couches against the wall, and a unique setup near the street, where you're technically indoors, but with an open wall space that doubles as an open window, so you can enjoy the fresh-ish LA air while you eat/ drink/ study. They have a full coffee menu with all the trimmings, but my favorite is their Iced Vanilla Latte with their house-made vanilla syrup (no added sugar, I hear). It may be the best latte in the area, with a perfect balance of coffee flavor and sweetness. For lunch, they have a modest menu of flatbreads, pizzas, and appetizers, my favorite of which is their Fig and Brie flatbread with apple slices. It's not the biggest food portion you'll ever get, but for $12, it's a delicious snack that can tide you over for a few hours. The winning aspect of this place is probably the ambiance. You won't find a more relaxing place for miles around. And yes, you can bring your laptop. Just don't hog all the couches, please. read more

holy cow, I'm obsessed with this. I don't care if it's basic. I think it's so cute. Love the outdoor parcade seating with twinkle lights. And the inside looks so cute. Came for drinks around 8 pm on a Saturday night and sat outside, which was very cool. Sitting outside is the move if you want to talk without shouting; the inside was very loud. It's a coffee shop during the day time, and I am definitely coming back to study here in the future. Indoor seating had standing tables (which we love) and very cute/cool aesthetic. My partner and I shared a glass of Rose- he drank more than me cuz I was still pretty buzzed from some day drinking. He really enjoyed it. I thought it was nice, too, with the few sips I had. Happy Hour would be a good idea for this place. One glass of rose after 20% tip was just shy of $19. I don't order wine often but my understanding is this is pretty commensurate with other places in Santa Monica? So cute, will be back. Oh, and waitress was super nice. Just moved to Santa Monica and been on a search for good wine bars. The interior has a rustic feel with all the wood decor but modern and sleek vibe with the hightop bars and tables. Very wide selection of various wines. My friend told me this place turns into a coffee shop in the morning which I will soon try and provide an update on my review! Lovely place! We stayed there for almost six hours doing work - which was possible because they have quite a few outlets in the cafe. After a certain time laptops are no longer allowed and it turns into a very charming wine bar. Came for a nice Sunday night dinner. Was a pleasant surprise they had a happy hour at 8pm at night. We ordered the cheese board with the extra meat & a scapegoat pizza. Both were pretty good! We enjoyed the cheese assortment for the cheese plate. The pizza was really good, I highly recommend the Brussel sprouts. Drinks were decent as well. 02/25/2019 There was quite a few parties here with Yelp for official and unofficial events. That was a long time ago. Most recently I came here for another party. This is the third year in a row with Heal the Bay. A party for all the volunteers and our own version of the Oscars. Which means this place is closed for a private event. It's a dimly lit place but you could still see the chairs and tables so you don't walk into them. Tonight, we had some fun activities and games. That Playstation Rock Band in one corner. A rock band theme photobooth in another corner. Ben & Jerry's ice cream in one area and that game where you guess what the name is on the card everyone can see but yourself. I think it is just for this event that the sodas are complimentary. Since I am my own designated driver. So I just made sure I tipped the bartender for a heavy handed pour with easy ice. The appetizers tonight were tomato and mozzarella sticks, BBQ chicken pizza, and these small sandwiches but not at a tea party kind. It is a nice little place for a group gathering. read more

Great experience, seems like they were very well prepared in their outdoor seating where its not your normal white tent. Friendly staff with great coffee, wine, and meal offerings. We decided to try the cocktails - Berry Spritzer and El Rey, both were good and refreshing and perfect if it's warm outside. For food, we got the Figgin Burrata and Brussel sprouts and goat cheese flatbread. Both were good but nothing extra ordinary. 20% automatic gratuity due to contactless service. Love love love this spot. Really cool bar/cafe vibe. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Seems like many people come here to work. We came here to celebrate a special occasion and the servers here were so nice about it. They gave us extra drinks for the occasion! Bodega offers an awesome variety of wines and beer which kept our party happy. As for food, we ordered the fig burrata, classic bruschetta, and the chili bear pizza. All of which were so delicious. Came here early Friday afternoon to finish up my workday. It was pretty packed but there is enough seating. They have unlimited coffee for $7 until 4pm if you decide you want to spend several hours working there. Wifi worked good and coffee was good. The people working there was nice. I can't believe I haven't yelped this place! Bodega was the first bar I went to when I first moved to Santa Monica. And although I've been to plenty of other bars in the area, Bodega has remained my go-to bar for any and every occasion. Definitely one of my favorite bars in LA! I love that it serves coffee during the day and wine at night. I've been to Bodega once during the day (during my lunch break) and there were lots of people just sitting around with their laptops working or studying. They ask you to put away your laptops after 5pm though--I agree, the work day is over. It's time to sit back and relax with a glass (or two or three) of wine! They also have a great happy hour! Great deals on wines every day and great food selections as well. The best part? They have gluten free pizzas! (I will say though, that it wasn't until recently that they started charging extra for gluten free crust. You used to be able to substitute it at no extra charge.) They also changed up the happy hour times...I think they took away the second happy hour that lasted from 10pm to close. However, now they have happy hour everyday (yes, including weekends!) You know that you frequent a place when you notice all the small menu changes and operational changes........anyway, I digress. I think I've tried about every wine on the menu (it's really not a huge menu), and I've never had a wine that I didn't like. So it's safe to say that you're good with any white or red! There are nice appetizers and snacks, but not many true entrees. It's a wine bar, so don't expect to have a full on meal here. It's typically pretty noisy, especially in the evenings. It's definitely a chill place for a date, but if you prefer a quiet spot, Bodega probably isn't your best choice. My favorite part of Bodega is how open the area is. During the day, the front windows are wide open letting in lots of sunshine and fresh air. You see people lounging along or on the window and on the couches. Love the ambiance! TL;DR: Great wine selection, yummy appetizers, chill place to lounge and work during the day, fantastic happy hour, and overall, great service! read more

I feel like I stop here at least once a month LOL.. which actually thinking about it now, is very true. I had been wanting to stop by this place for SO long since I'm very much all about #pizzanprosecco (seriously, there's art on the wall in my kitchen). Anyway, so the first time I went was sometime in March when my friend flew in from AZ and her hotel was on the westside so we def had to stop by. LOVED every single moment! Not only did I have Prosecco but they made this yummy blood orange one for me.. ahh so good! I did stop by about a month later with some coworkers and those bacon wrapped dates - DELICIOUS! The service is always great here and what made it especially great was that our server was super attentive in having us order during HH since it was about to end. Third time as just last week.. totally different vibe before 4p.. SOO many laptops out! This is obviously the place to be for the remote work life people. My friend and I were there to drink though, so we didn't want to ruin the quietness inside so we sat outside and enjoyed the sun. I wish I lived closer. And I wish there could be a mini one of these in the valley - preferably by Toluca lake since that's where I live! Hoping and wishing but I know that would mind of conflict with the Argentinian grill.. I think the media district would still love it! It's not too loud to study or talk, but loud enough so people don't listen in nearby. Quiet atmosphere with people doing work or having small meetings. There was a stroller/bike area near the counter. In general, it's quite spacious and got pretty packed by noon. They had some good pastries like the peach crostata.
