    Daily special bagel
    Ash J.

Good bagel slot on Fillmore with a small outdoor seating area in the back. I've been a few times and tried bagels with different spreads, as well as daily specials like the egg salad + avocado bagel. The bagels are fresh and chewy though just once or twice they've been a bit dense. They have lots of good spreads and are usually rotating different seasonal ones which is fun. Overall a nice addition to the area which doesn't have many bagel options!

Absolutely incredible experience at Boichik Bagels. The bagel was truly the most delicious bagel I've ever had -- made exactly how I would have ordered it, and somehow even better. The texture and flavor were perfect. What really stood out was the service. Everyone was genuinely friendly and welcoming. Even when I was doing my usual "can I get the lightest-colored one?" request, the woman helping me was so kind about it and didn't make it awkward at all. She just smiled and mentioned that someone else asks for the same thing. That small moment really made the experience feel personal and comfortable. And I also noticed there's a mezuzah on the door, which added to the warm, thoughtful atmosphere. Amazing food, amazing service -- I'll definitely be back.

Eek, longggg overdue review here. Boichik Bagels is absolutely worth the stop. I've always enjoyed them during my Berkeley days. It's consistently excellent. The bagels have that perfect balance - crisp on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside and you can tell they really care about quality. Even when there's a line, it moves quickly and the staff always feels warm and efficient. The lox bagel is my go-to and never disappoints. The salmon is silky and generous, the cream cheese is rich without being overwhelming, and everything just tastes incredibly fresh. It's simple, classic, and done really well, you know the kind of breakfast that quietly makes your whole morning better.

This Boichik has matcha now!! I got an iced matcha latte sweetened with vanilla and with whole milk - it was really nice matcha / milk ratio, and lightly sweet. I prefer getting the bagels extra toasted so there's a little bit of crunch.

Boichik bagels has been on my list of places to try for awhile now! Heard many great things from friends. Tried the classic everything bagel with lox, which was sooo good. I would only give this a 4/5 because I'm not a fan of heavy cream cheese on my bagels (I know, unpopular opinion), otherwise if you love a generous amount of cream cheese this place is definitely for you. Also tried the whitefish salad on an everything bagel and I would say it was just okay. Didn't have too much flavor or anything that stood out, so probably wouldn't get that one again. Overall solid spot for bagels!

first time trying boichik and i was not disappointed! the salt bagel was perfectly toasted while being so chewy on the inside. i do wish there was more lox in the lox spread. i also tried the classic and pumpernickel & salt bagels each with different spreads/toppings. everything was amazing, great flavors and textures! the cream cheese was so smooth and velvety -- extremely enjoyable. service was friendly. there's no spots to eat your bagels, it's a grab and go situation. i'll definitely be back and highly recommend!

Cool spot to have NY style bagels. This pace is small with some open seating behind. I like the look and feel. Service was friendly and fast. We tried , pumperthingle bagel which is rye version of everything bagel - Lox , cucumbers and everything spice. Tastes good. I wished to have generous quantity of lox though. ( May be I'm spoiled with my recent NY trip ) Overall nice place and popular in locals !

Stopped by on a Saturday morning and there was no line, and I had my food within 5 minutes of ordering. I went with a custom everything bagel with egg salad. Both were incredibly fresh and made for a very satisfying meal. The shop has a lovely, open atmosphere where you can watch the bagel making process. This does seem like a takeout spot as there isn't really any dining space. It is a bit pricey, but given the quality and freshness, it felt well worth it. Great bagel spot in general.

Was talking to Japantown on a weekend in SF and got hungry. Decided to stop by the bagel place that was near me and was intrigued by the smell. It feels like a small cafe with some seats (surprisingly) in the back. the front of the store doesn't have any seats, and is mainly for grab n go folks. Like us. We grabbed then left. But, I did get a chance to see the seating area inside. You pay by item- meaning, construct you bagel, and pay for the bagel, cheese, filling, etc. separately. I like the way they did it. Now for the bagel. The lox was pretty good, solid and did not disappoint. the cream cheese (I got the chile one) was also pretty good. Felt solid but not particularly special. The Eggything bagel was pretty good, but one problem I had was I wished they toasted it longer- the thiccness of the bagel made it rather hard to chew at some time because it wasn't toasty enough. Would recommend to a bagel lover :) It was overall onpar with other bagels I've had, not quite at the level of the golden NYC bagel places though.

Poppyseed Bagel with a separate order of 8oz Garlic & Herb whipped Cream Cheese. This was the weekly special for cream cheese.

Excellent bagels here! Friendly service with a smile. Happy employees engender a quality experience, and this place exemplifies that. Casual spartan grab n go vibe inside with a few merch items displayed on the opposite wall. I've enjoyed bagels of many renditions from bagel shops in NYC and many locally and elsewhere, but to me, Boichik is my favorite here in California.. All the textures and chew of each Boichik bagel that I've had is just perfection to me, right from the initial bite that transitions from the subtle piercing of the outer shell that parts ways to reveal the chewy goodness inside.. 10/10.. My usual pick here are the poppyseed bagels with a topping of cream cheese. I love that 95% of the poppyseeds STAY ON the bagel unlike most other places. They slice and toast your bagels on request at no extra charge. The 8oz serving of cream cheese is the best value compared to a single application which is $2-2.50 per bagel. The menu here is relatively simple with just a few choices. That to me seems to indicate that they are very good at what they do, and try not to be everything to everyone.. PRO TIP: There is an outdoor dining area just hidden behind and to the left of the order counter to enjoy your bagels!! Verdict: Yep.. I'm a fan.I come by here whenever I am in the Fillmore..

These bagels have a reputation for being special. They're good. They are dense and heavy, not doughy and soft. If you are looking for a good bagel, yes these are good. Are they memorable, crave worthy, delicious, or a great deal? Not really. Whole Foods has the same kind of bagels and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference except WF bagels are larger.

I was pleasantly surprised by their speed and consistency. They were just as good as the Sacramento Street location nearby. The quality was spot on, and they loaded up the cream cheese so generously I was in heaven. My go-to is the eggything bagel, toasted with cream cheese, and let's just say I always need extra napkins. That tells you two things: I'm a bit messy, and they truly respect the schmear. My second favorite bagel here is the garlic so far. They use a lot of garlic, and you can tell they don't skimp out. I plan to try all of their bagels over time, and I just found out they have egg salad, so I will have to try them again for that! If they don't sell out early, expect lines at peak hours, but the crew keeps everything moving. I hope they add a reward system via an app soon. That would take it to the next level. Love this chain and always make a pit stop here in the morning whenever I'm in the area for work.

    Linda Y.

The bagels here are chewy and enjoyable! As an East Coaster, I will stand by the fact that NY bagels are superior to the ones here in California -- but Boichik is one of the better that I've tried out here. I like their whitefish salad, and also just enjoy the pumperthingle bagel on its own with some cream cheese. They have some nice seasonal spreads too, and the line always moves pretty fast (if there is one). Glad to see Boichik in the neighborhood!

I've had plenty of egg-salad disasters, sandwich and otherwise, and I'm normally a very gun-shy person, but if a place has egg salad on its menu, I'll probably order it. Wise Sons always has egg salad on its menu. The problem is that it didn't have any egg salad on hand the first two times I came here.* Whatever I had instead, both times (and I had something different each time) was delicious. I don't know why I haven't tried the latkes yet. I guess I'm not a very wise son. The place is old school and feels perfect inside. It won't transport you magically to the past like many killer authentic interiors will, but it's very easy to imagine what the inside of this store looked like in 1941 or whenever. There was never more than one other person dining in each time I came. Maybe it's because I came so late in the day? More people would make it feel like a convivial breakfast destination. Empty, it feels like a good place with good food. Yes, it's overpriced, especially with all the delicious food you can get for cheaper within a few doors of this business on 24th Street in the Mission. But Wise Sons. It's a thing, a thing I'm glad I got wise to. *Did they sell out? Just didn't bother to make it? Who orders egg salad in the 2020s, anyway?

My wife and I were meeting someone in San Francisco in the afternoon and we wanted to eat lunch beforehand. We were interested in trying Wise Sons Deli since we have heard so many people praising it. Since we were coming into the city via BART, this location was great. The ambiance is pretty basic; ordinary tables and chairs and only some photos on one wall. You order and pay at the counter and then someone will deliver the food to the table. If you want coffee or water it is serve-yourself. However, the food is fantastic! My wife ordered a corned beef Reuben sandwich ($18.50). It was thick and very tasty. I ordered a House Special Pastrami Reuben that had a smaller Reuben sandwich, french fries, a side of cole slaw, and a drink ($19.50). While it had half as much meat as the regular Reuben, it was still a good size. They make their own Pastrami and Corned Beef and it tastes great. Overall, the experience and the food, sits about a 3.5 star experience. The people in the shop were nice, but not overly welcoming. I ordered extra lox, because I've been told that the quantity wasn't there. I will say that I was glad that I ordered extra, because I think it made for a pretty tasty bite. The bagels are boiled, so there's that pillowy bounce. What I absolutely enjoyed about this big experience is that it's not basic. It's refined and elevated. Herb, lemon, lox is the way to go! Yes, spend the extra money and get the extra lox. Lemon aïoli, tomato, red onion, you can tell why this is just absolutely perfection! I enjoyed the bagel and it definitely is better than others that I've had in and around the general area. The ingredients/toppings are fresh, I just wish they were a little bit more generous on their own. The lox is pretty tasty, and I can tell you that I'm generally pretty picky, and this really stepped up to that plate. For those craving a little bit of sweetness after their meal, they do sell cookies, and I grabbed their marshmallow cookie. The cookie was pretty meh. I definitely would take a pass on the cookie. Update to a Formerly Glowing Review…read more This is an update to what was once a glowing review of my beloved Pizzahacker. I've been going for many, many years (close to 10--or more?), so it pains me to say that some changes under new management have shifted the experience for me. Jeff Krupman, the founder and chef (who ended up being a friend!) sold the business to one of his longtime employees a year ago or more ago. (He still owns the Mill Valley location). While they tried to keep a lot of things the same h feel noticeably different. It's interesting that it still shows his name as manager. Here's what I've noticed--not in a good way: The menu now feels overwhelmingly meat-forward, with a dearth of thoughtfully designed vegetarian pizzas. I have mentioned this to Jesse (longtime staff) and a female server, asking them to pass this along. Each pizza also seems to have several more ounces of (still very delicious sourdough) dough. The crust is significantly thicker, and there's simply more of it. What once felt light and beautifully balanced now feels heavier. Vegetarian options are largely reduced to subtraction of meat . I've spoken with longtime waitstaff (including Jesse) and asked that this feedback be shared with Juan, the new owner. One server suggested I could just order a pizza without the meat. But a thoughtfully composed vegetarian pizza is very different from a meat pizza with ingredients removed--and at $24, paying full price for a pizza minus its main topping feels unfair. Perhaps there could be a cheaper option availabile for meaty pizzas without the meat. Please consider making The Summer Fave year round, bringing back the Inside Out, and/or creating more pizzas that don't center around multiple meats. Also, I know that the new management has changed some of the ingredients that made their pizzas so special and delicious. In particular, the sausage on the Yo Vinny, which used to be house made is now closer to the generic sausage you'd find at Pizza Hut. Loses so much of the experience to change to these cheaper ingredients. (I lean vegetarian as much as possible but make occasional exceptions, so I know this!) I used to go to Pizzahacker weekly and look forward to it with genuine excitement. Now, while I still enjoy the occasional pizza, that sense of anticipation is gone. I do want to say I'm grateful that my beloved Intermezzo salad remains unchanged--and I still care deeply about this place. I love PH--please consider the earnest pleas of a longtime customer who has eaten there many dozens of times.

Bagels were fresh and tasty, and the service was fast and friendly. There isn't too much to say…read moreabout this bagel spot: if you're looking for great bagels, quick service, and a friendly team, I'd definitely check this place out. Okay... I guess I should elaborate a little more for all y'all faithful Yelp readers. I tried a couple of different bagels at Noe Bagel. The sesame and everything bagels are both generously coated, with a beautiful outer crust that has just the right texture. The inside is soft and chewy. It's a classic New York-style bagel that will satisfy even your strongest bagel cravings. The mini bagels maintain that same excellence, just in a smaller form. Because of their size, the crust-to-center ratio gives you more of the micro-blistered snap that I love about bagels. Personally, I'd choose two or three minis over one regular bagel. The cream cheese is also excellent--well-balanced and smooth. My favorite is the blueberry cream cheese. It has just a hint of sweetness that brings out the richness and creaminess of the cheese. And, like many spots in San Francisco, they offer a sourdough bagel. It's quite different from their sourdough bread, but I enjoyed it. If you're visiting, I'd recommend giving it a try. For my everyday go-to, I'd stick with a classic sesame or plain bagel, but Noe Bagel has enough variety to keep things interesting if you want to switch it up regularly. As a bonus, they sell day-old bagels by the bag for $4. You can freeze them, eat them as-is, or repurpose them into bread pudding. You'll end up with an interesting dish thanks to all the different bagel varieties mixed together--but that's part of the fun!

If you are ever in Noe Valley, OR if you're in SF and craving a great bagel this is your spot to…read morego. Hands down one of the best bagels I have ever had! Small business owned by the baker himself, many different flavored bagels and spreads to choose from. They also offer bagel dogs which I have yet to try. If you're lucky enough to snag a pesto bagel before he sells out, it will change your life. My go to: pesto bagel with sun-dried tomato spread and sprouts. I have tried many bagel locations, even prefer this spot over boichik in the city. The owner is so kind and well worth supporting! Parking can be difficult around this area, but it's worth the 5 - 10 minute walk.
