Nice AYCE hot pot spot that opens from noon. You don't see a 4-way split pot like Boiling very often, and it's great for a group meal. Soup bases were nice, but leaned more on a lighter flavor side. Definitely a place that benefits from their good sauce bar options. We primarily tried their meats, which were good quality, but also not the amongst the best I've had. If you prefer lean cuts, their wagyu beef has nice flavor and decent marbling. Their beef toro is definitely the highlight for me for melt-in-mouth, but the cuts also seemed a bit too unevenly fat. Services though, was nice. You order in a touch pad and the food gets delivered pretty quickly. We ordered after we completely finished each round and there was not much of a delay. Imagine a group of 7 young adult men after a long day on the beach playing soccer and throwing a frisbee around...we were ready to devour a bear :D Called a bit in advance and they luckily secured a table for us. It's a small-ish restaurant but feels very cozy--they had a Berkeley football game on the TV and some tables were closely watching so it felt quite lively. In my opinion, the perfect AYCE restaurant should have a few things: - high throughput of dish ordering: Usually, this is how these unlimited restaurants get you by rate limiting how much you can eat at once. We ordered quite a few dishes (max was something like 4-6 meats for the table), and within less than 5 minutes, our food was on the table. This was consistent throughout the entire night, despite more than 75% of tables being filled. - High quality ingredients: All the meats were super tender, especially the pork belly and the lamb. There's quite a variety of broths that you can select (our table had the choice of 8 different broths sectioned off in quadrants), but my favorites were the miso and the Tom Yum. So many veggies to order as well, and I found the enoki mushrooms and A choy to be yummy. The DIY sauce bar was also excellent and had the typical sauces. - Reasonable price: For $36pp in SF, this is entirely worth it for the AYCE experience when 1-2 entrees elsewhere is already around the same price. This will be come my go to spot for AYCE hot pot in SF. This is a Chongqing style restaurant as our server explained. For starters, that's a municipality in Southwestern China along the Yangtze River. It's known for, you guessed it, hot pot! Diners will use an octagonal pot with four sections. My friend and I chose the chicken, tom yum, miso, and curry broths, taking a culinary tour of Asia in the City by the Bay. The items we ordered did not disappoint! We got the lamb shoulder, wagyu beef, bok choy, fresh tofu, udon, mussels, shrimp, beef tendon, octopus, and also (not pictured) the honeycomb beef tripe, lobster balls, and house-special beef. The udon, tofu, and bok choy complemented the miso broth, the meats went well with the curry broth, and the seafood paired nicely with the tom yum broth. After a long, windy day of hiking, AYCE hot pot sounded like the perfect dinner. We used Yelp's reservation station and were seated a few minutes after the reservation window. The interior was a bit crowded (to be expected on a Saturday around 7) and quite warm and steamy, which took a bit getting used to. Ordering is easy: you are able to select 4 soup bases per table, then all the meats, tofu, fungi, vegetables, and seafood to your heart's desire (within 90 minutes). You can place as many orders as you'd like, and they all came quickly. The ordering system is efficient and great for introverts. Some of our favorites were the beef toro, pumpkin, tofu skin, and imitation crab. You can perfect your sauce ratios at the self serve sauce station, and the overall customizability of the whole meal is great. I was missing some hot pot mainstays, such as pea shoots and watercress. The selection is more limited than some other hot pot restaurants. The meat quality was fine - I found the wagyu to be a bit chewier than expected. Lastly, with the steam and food, and perhaps being seated next to the sauce station, there were some bugs flying around, which didn't make for a great eating environment. Overall, Boiling Hot Pot provides a solid AYCE hotpot experience at a reasonable price ($100 for 2 people after tip and with a beer). read more

Been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally got to go this past Friday night with my husband. We got here at around 6PM and was seated almost immediately. We didn't have to wait, which was great since some of the reviews mentioned the wait can get a bit long. Since it was Friday, they were anticipating it to be busy and thus the time limit (90 minutes) is enforced. It is AYCE (all you can eat) for the price of $35.95 per person. Drinks and dessert are not included. However, there is a sauce bar and that is included in the AYCE price. You order everything through the tablet, which is fantastic cause there is less room for communication errors. You get to choose 4 different types of broth for your hot pot and the FIRST broth you choose on the tablet will go in the middle. The middle area is much smaller than the rest so choose wisely! For our broth, we decided to go with tomato, spicy, miso, and chicken. For items to throw in the pot, we got: Lamb shoulder Wagyu beef Premium pork belly Intestine Fish fillet Frozen tofu King oyster mushroom Napa cabbage Vermicelli I also made my own sauce at the bar: garlic, green chili, soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, cilantro, and green onions. Everything was pretty decent! The wagyu beef was super tender! The lamb shoulder had good flavor but some pieces were really fatty. The premium pork belly is pretty lean so if you like really fatty pork belly, order the fatty pork belly instead. I also really liked how the portion sizes aren't too giant since my husband and I can't eat that much. We like to sample different things instead of eating a whole mound of one thing. Also, my sauce went great with all meats! The tomato soup was my favorite! It had a lot of flavor and was really good to soak your noodles in. The chicken and spicy soup didn't have much flavor -- they were really watered down so they weren't my favorite. The miso is decent as well. Service is very quick! They do not take a long time to bring you your order. Even though the price for AYCE is a tad high, it didn't really bother us as we really liked the variety (also cause everything is expensive nowadays). They also do come by to let you know that it's last call when you are nearing your time limit! So they don't just cut you off out of nowhere. Overall, definitely a decent place to have AYCE hot pot. Delicious and authentic hotpot! This place feels super homey and familiar. We got on the Yelp waitlist two hours before we intended to dine here to best time our arrival. Finding parking was pretty difficult here; we circled for about 20 minutes before someone left, but once our reservation was ready, we were able to get seated immediatedly. We got a bottle of cold sake for free by checking in to Yelp! Thanks to the restaurant for being so hospitable. The tomato broth is definitely my favorite; it's so vibrant with sweet and sour tomato flavor, but suble enough to not overpower a delicate ingredient. The chicken broth is a close second; it's so rich in flavor! The fish balls with roe is so unique and delicious! The roe add a salty creaminess in the bouncy and chewy fish ball. The seaweed bow ties, when soaked for a while, are so delicious when softened in the broth; the tying of the seaweed ensures the inside of the middle stays springy but still tender. The fish fillets are so fresh and tender! They get flaky and delicate in both texture and flavor. The pork belly is a bit rubbery and tough to chew in the cuts. The only downside, besides the wait that can be dealt with through early planning of the waitlist, is that the ambiance is very noisy and humid. Found this great spot for hot pot for AYCE in Bay Area and was excited to check it out. It's in Richmond which is much easier to find parking. We sat in the front area of the restaurant which was nice and cozy. There's a back area to host more guests. The service was quick. You order from an iPad and they bring out the food. Just got back from dinner at Boiling Hot Pot. I am feeling very stuffed in a comforting kind of way. Restaurant is clean, wait staff is super friendly, responsive and helpful. Menus on the internet are sort of out of date. You can pick any broth for the center (smaller) receptacle - just know that the first one you choose goes there (lots of signs telling you this). Then pick another 3 broths, then proteins, veggies, starch, drinks. Don't order all at once, try a few things first then order again. They're very fast with bringing it to you. Came here in a Saturday afternoon for AYCE. I think this hotpot place is the most worth it for the price. You can also get all you can drink for 15 more dollars. I come here and drink a lot of sake/beer and eat all the beef. The service is super quick, you order through a device on the wall and the servers bring it to you. We ordered Sukiyaki, Chicken Soup, Spicy Soup, and Tomato Soup. All were intensely flavorful and my favorites were definitely the sukiyaki and spicy soup. The spice was maybe a 6/10 for me, but I do have a higher tolerance. Take the chilis out midway through the meal to avoid it getting too hot! I also love that they have an easy ipad ordering system which is very convenient when you have long lists of orders and it includes photos of everything. The restaurant itself was a little dark without a crazy amount of seating - my group went during an off period where the restaurant was pretty empty, but by the time we left the place was fully packed! I would definitely recommend planning ahead if you intend to come with a party during normal dinner/lunch hours. My group ordered spicy, green pepper, sukiyaki, and chicken soups! This was definitely a highlight for us since some of the more known AYCE hotpot spots in the bay don't typically offer 4 soup choices! I was very happy with the quality of the meats and veggies that were brought out - they were all super clean and fresh. A good variety of ingredients are available, and I especially loved the fish and the shrimp paste which was a table favorite. Service was amazing, and kept up really well towards the end when the restaurant started filling up! Our waters were consistently full, plates were quickly cleared and food was brought out without a substantial wait. One thing to note is that the place typically has an eating limit of 90 minutes - but I don't forsee waiting on food being an issue with the speed of service I experienced. We're big hot pot fans and we came to Boiling Pot off a recommendation from a friend. We came with a party 7 at 7pm and they were able to sit us at a booth table for 6 without much of a wait. - AYCE Hot Pot ($35) The quality of the hot pot was very good. You get up to four bases and we got sukiyaki, tomato, pork, and tom yum. I used the sukiyaki and tomato the most, which were both very flavorful, with the flavor sticking to the food and tasting good even without the addition dipping sauce. Speaking of dipping sauce, there is a sauce bar around the middle of the restaurant so that you can make your own combination of dipping sauces! They even had a list of recommended combinations for sauces! We ordered a bit of everything off the menu (which was quite extensive) and were very satisfied with everything. What we ordered the most of included wagyu, fish ball with roe, beancurd, mushrooms. Lastly, the service was very good.
