Had a great lunch here recently! This was on a weekday, and we were luckily able to get seated right away! On to the food! First off, the ordering method is super cool! There's a touchscreen attached to the wall, and it's super user friendly! The way the broth is divided is pretty cool as well! It's divided into four, so the two of us got to try 4 kinds of broth. We tried pork, miso, tom yum, and spicy. All were good, but be advised, the spicy is suuuper spicy! I'm good with spicy, but even I had to take it easy with it. As far as meats, seafood, and sides go, everything was pretty standard fare for hotpot places, and everything was delicious! The service was great as well! I think the big draw is that you can order 4 different broths and accommodate the preferences of most everyone in the group. You get equal amounts of all the broths except for the middle one which is smaller. The first broth you order will be placed in the middle. There's a good selection of items from which to choose, but I've seen a few more choices at other places. Still, there's a lot to make AYCE worth it. Ordering is done using an iPad mounted to the wall. Just select an item, and it will appear on the screen with a + button to add it. Once you select all the items you want, just click the send button and place the order. The items come fairly quickly. Use the iPad again to order more food. Service is friendly and the wait staff monitor broth levels well and refill as necessary. There's a 90 minute time limit. I think it might be around 60 minutes after your first order when a notification pops up on the iPad asking if you need more time. If you don't click saying yes, it times out and assumes you're done. I imagine you can tell the staff that you weren't done if you miss the notification. read more

A quaint spot in Richmond, Boiling Hot Pot does AYCE hotpot for $35 per person, which doesn't include drinks/dessert. They have a good sauce bar, as well as an efficient iPad ordering method! Service is good, and the meats seem good quality. Came with a group of 8 and made a reservation, and there was no time limit that day (I guess it wasn't super busy). No enoki mushrooms :( but selection of items was good! We got two pots with 4 flavor broth each. I think for the almost $40 pp price point, drinks and dessert would've been nice to include. It cost $20 for another pitcher of beer that fed 4. I'd maybe come back, but you can get slightly cheaper AYCE (for example ipot) that includes more elsewhere. read more

Wow! Best hot pot place I've been to! My family and I came here on a Friday night and we waited around 15 - 20 minutes. You have to find street parking which is not uncommon for San Francisco. This AYCE Hot Pot set the standard pretty high for future hot pot places. You can choose 4 different broths and they were all amazing. We got spicy (out favorite), Tom Yum (very flavorful), miso (it taste very authentic, amazing flavor) and green onion which had a Szechuan flavor. Not our favorite but still good. I am amazed with the quality of each broth. I think that's what made the experience so amazing! When the broth is good, the hot pot taste amazing. They also had plenty of vegetables to choose from, and several meats. The service was wonderful as well. Everyone was extremely nice and they have tablets to order the side dishes. Can't believe I've never been here. Lots of seating, there's a front room and back room. Got seated in the back in a booth, not the best seating as the back cushions moves around, but that's not important, the food! Lots of options. You get 4 broths. Tomato was as expected and good. Sukiyaki was good, not too sweet like other places. Miso was a little salty but as you'd expect. Wish the Tom yum had more flavor to it, but still decent. The beef wagyu was soo good, very meaty and not too fatty. Love places with a sauce bar. Service was super friendly. You order from an iPad on the wall, and all the food comes out quickly. The soup flavours are always amazing, I recommend the Tom Yum, tomato, miso, and sukiyaki. The food options are perfect and don't leave anything to be desired in my opinion. The sauce bar is always clean and tidy and it gets restocked often. The service is very very fast and super nice, welcoming, and attentive! Ambiance is nice and the music isn't too loud, the lights aren't too bright, so it's a great place to go and have a fun meal with friends. I visited on a weekend around 2:30pm and my party of 4 was seated immediately as the tables were largely empty. I admit I was a little worried that I'd brought my friends to a bad spot when I saw how empty it was but the restaurant filled up completely by the time we left and we could see why! The interior is a bit dark and dingy but the food and service were top notch. Our server kindly asked if we'd been there before and explained how to order using their tablet system. You are able to order four different soup bases and the first selection is placed in the center of the pot. Once we ordered off the tablet in the wall, our soup was brought out within 5 minutes and the meats/vegetables were brought out very soon after. My party ordered: sukiyaki, chicken, spicy, and green pepper soup bases. They were all delicious! However, as the soup boiled away, whatever soup they used to refill each pot was not as flavorful as the initial soup. It was still good, just not as amazing as that first taste. We ordered several times off the tablet with quite a large selection in each cart, and the staff was very consistent and quick in bringing out our food. We never had to flag down a server because they were always bringing out our food or checking on our waters and soup levels without us having to ask. They also cleared our empty dishes often so nothing piled up. The sauce bar is self-serve and provides all the standard offerings: chili oil, satay/sacha/"bbq" sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, scallions, etc. The hot pot offerings also provided all the standard offerings and more! My favorites were the fish ball with roe, pork belly, and shrimp paste. The price is about the same as other all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurants I've patronized in the bay area. As of January 2024, it was about $35pp before tax and tip. Given the quality of the food and service, Boiling Hot Pot is easily one of my favorite AYCE hot pot restaurants in the area and I look forward to coming back. read more

There is a dedicated sauce counter with so many options to choose from, and if you really don't know what to pick, there is a helpful flyer that comes with suggestions and recommendations. This has got to be the best AYCE hot pot in SF...maybe in the bay. Not only are the broths so flavorful, but you really able to get to try multiple broths at once. Came here for lunch on Sunday. I appreciated that they were COVID conscious and did temperature checks at the door. Their iPad ordering system was down that day but we were able to order on their laminated menu. I like that you can choose 4 broths rather than the typical 2. There's a wide variety of meats, veggies, etc to choose from so I didn't feel like I was getting bored during the AYCE. Service was friendly and they checked in on us at the appropriate times. The soup bases are very flavorful and really soak into the food taking it to a new level. We recommend the Green Onion Numbing soup base (the spice wasn't overwhelming and the flavor was good coming from a non spicy food eater) and the tomato soup base for anyone a bit intimated by the numbing part. i have an admission to make from the gitgo: i was frankly a bit loaded when we got here. someone mentioned this place so i made a reservation which was apparently a good idea given how crowded the place was. anyway it all went well enough. i like this area on geary as i had no difficulty parking my car on saturday night, and yes i was the designated driver so now let the finger-wagging begin, but believe me considering the rest of the group this was for the best. it's a bit complicated ordering so it was fortunate that one of us had been here before. i found that of the 4 soup bases the spicier the better. the chicken broth for example was a nonevent, requiring one or more of the sauces to make more interesting. it's also a bit complicated getting the various meats into the boiling vats of soup. i'm reasonably good with chopstix but picking up each and every thinly sliced raw beef, lamb, fish or chicken got tedious in a hurry because as thin as they are the slices tended to fall apart. so here's how we all agreed to make life simpler: use your fingers to drop these items into the liquor. remember, it's called the "boiling" hot pot. that means what goes in may be contaminated with whatever nastiness you have on you, but in the shortest possible time the heat pasteurizes everything, even your sticks. so it's all very sanitary by definition. one thing i did miss were vegetables, though there were some to choose if you so chose. just not enough selection and the results weren't always so great. all in all, i prefer to let the kitchen do what they do best which is be in charge of cooking the meal. hell, considering all the work we put into cooking our own dinner we neither made minimum wage nor even receive a small gratuity in light of our efforts. tasty but i sense that hotpot is simply not the right venue for me. read more

If you ever meet me, I'm probably one of the biggest hot pot fans ever. Came here on a weekday and super glad I didn't have to wait for at all. This place offers many meats and veggies of your choice and it's all you can eat! For the price of $35 per person, it's not bad at all and the overall quality of food was really really good. Once you get seated, no need to worry about the waiters coming to you, you can just order off the menu on this tiny little computer screen next to the wall where you are sitting. What I love about this place is that you get to choose 4 different types of soup broths of your choice. For our pot, we ended up getting the Tomato, Spicy, Miso, and the Pork Broth, which all tasted fantastic. Just as an fyi, if you get the spicy, it is really spicy. And I for one can handle spicy food pretty well too. It's kind of like a Sichuan type of spice in my opinion, so it has that numbing-ness to it. When you order your foods, they service it to you in smaller portions, but you can always order more if needed. It just helps to limit yourself in case you don't finish the food. Overall, this is a very delicious solid hot pot spot in the city. It's one of the few spots that offers multi soup broths which is really cool. Service was good too! The people would constantly refill your soups if it's almost empty and they're pretty quick on their feet. There's also a self-serve sauce bar too. Since I moved away from Gary Boulevard two years ago I haven't been here for a long time, but since my friends really wanted to try I was glad that I went back. We order a spicy brath the Japanese mistle broth and the numbing and spicy broth and a pork breath they all taste very good I love how numbing and spicy broth gives you a kick and I loved all the meat or the vegetables and I checked in on yelp and I even got a free sake. people here are very efficient. My go-to in the city and the best bang for your buck AYCE hot pot in sf! ~ 35 dollars/person with 4 soup bases, and the soup bases are really good! My personal favorites are Tom yum and the green numbing spicy while my boyfriend likes the traditional mala spicy soup. There's a good amount of meat selection, and there's no hard limit to the amount of plates you can order (however don't order an excessive amount because all your orders won't come out if that's the case). For ayce the beef quality is solid (although on the coarser side), but for the price and the amount that comes out on a single plate, I'm pleased. There is also a good selection of veggies and alternative meats as well as noodles (my favorite finisher to a hotpot meal). The sauce bar here is especially nice; it's clean and there's a lot of choice, and they also give tips on sauce combinations to try, which is perfect for hot pot beginners. Service is also very quick and attentive. The ordering system is very convenient (you order from a screen). Also soup comes out fast and items come out fairly fast, which is all one can really ask for for AYCE with a 90 minute time limit. Water service and refills are also timely and frequent, which is a major plus for people who drink lots of water during their meal. The food quality is excellent. My favorites are the classic lamb, pork belly, shrimp paste, frozen tofu, and egg noodles. Although I don't drink beer, I highly recommend Tsingtao which goes really well with Chinese hot pot. I only wish I had more room to eat them all.
