Then after the 40 minutes, told us we were number 20 line and it would be another 30-40 minute wait. What the heck, what dishonest service and business management. If the staff had been honest about the hour/ hour 20 minutes wait, from the beginning we would have left within five minutes. Terrible Service. Won't ever go return to this location or business. The second time I went it was in the afternoon and the service was HORRIBLE. The workers were on their phones and all the customers kept having to get up to ask for stuff. The food quality is consistent with other BP locations. It was very yummy with all the goodies it says it has on the menu. It comes with your choice of noodles or rice. The noodles is a dried clear noodle packet and you have to put it in your pot to cook. I opted for the rice since there are vermicelli noodles in the pot with most options. I wasn't too thrilled with the service, I thought they spoke too loud, because 2 tables down you can hear her say "you can't really share, they're made for 1". I thought that was rude. Plus they didn't check up on us, only when they delivered the food and then gave us our check. So I'll probably go to other locations than this one. ADVICE!! This place used to have good customer service. This location is constantly changing staff. In our last couple of visits we have received poor customer service. Once they serve your food they will never come to you to ask if you need anything else. Came here with a friend on a Saturday and didn't have to wait long for seating, once we got seated and ordered our food after looking over the menu it didn't even feel that long once we got our food. It was delicious the one I got was the Lamb and it was amazing and so flavorful the meat was juicy and delicious the other stuff that was in the bowl was equally as delicious and if not super good. There are a good amount of people working but it's so hard to get anyone's attention for anything. Ended up going up to the front to pay and get a togo box. I've heard of the great phenomenon that is Boiling Point, Boiling Pot, Hot Pit, etc throughout the years. I know about them, I know their locations, and I've had home cooked version of all of them, from the Cambodian version to the Japanese Sukiyaki to the Chinese Hot Pot. But, I've yet to visit a location in person and try them out. Then one day, a good friend of mines invited us to meet up and try this Boiling Point establishment out in Artesia, CA. Conveniently tucked on Pioneer Blvd about 2-3mins drive from the 91 freeway, you can here pretty easy. Parking is shared among other local and nearby shopping and eateries as well. A giant sign "BOILING POINT" can be seen from the street and even the parking lot. You can't miss this establishment. Once at the entrance, you'll be greeted with a wall of menu in bright big posters/boards laminated on the wall in front of the entrance once you're inside. A clipboard to write down your name and numbers in your party. At the time, their check-in/iPad was not working. The wait was roughly 10-15 mins. Once they called your name/party, the awesome waiter/waitress will seat you and offer you a menu and drinks order. What I count is about 13-14 tables seating anywhere from 4-6. I think with individualized hot pot stations, more than 4 to a table is already tight and squeezing more seat is just uncomfortable. We got our drinks and then proceeded to order the plentiful selection of types of soup, intensity of spice and additional carbs to go with it (rice or noodles). Here wereour selections: : House Special Hot Pot (w/ Noodles) : Korean Bean Paste Hot Soup (w/ Noodles) : Beef Hot Soup (w/ Noodles) : Sides: Fermented Tofu : Sides: Garlic Porkbelly The soups were so full of flavor and very very tasty. You cannot go wrong on any of the selections. My favorite has to be the Korean Bean Paste. The sides were also great as well. Interesting taste on the Fermented Tofu; tastebud excitement is warned--it is not for everyone. However, the Garlic Porkbelly is very tasty and has your typical Korean style Porkbelly texture to it. It can be eaten solely or added to the soup for further flavoring. You can't go wrong on either. Next time, we'll try the other flavors. For now, I'm recommending this place to everyone wanting to try a warm and delicious soup with additional sides. read more

My friend mentioned this place was close to her house and she tended to like it maybe a little more than Red Flame. She suggested we go here before we attended a BLACKPINK concert this past Sunday. It's in the same plaza with other food places. Depending on when you get there, you could find a spot without much issue or you might have to look around for a spot. We planned to meet more friends there around 4:30 PM and found a spot without much issue. Our friends put our names on the waitlist before we got there and we waited about 10-15 minutes before they seated us. (We noticed there were some available tables but I'm guessing the restaurant was very short-staffed.) Once seated, we actually had to flag down a waiter to take our order. He seemed a little nervous, but I sense it was because he was new. (He had a uniform shirt on with the word trainee across the front.) Similar to Red Flame, I ordered the beef hot pot. Food took maybe 7-9 minutes. My friend ordered a winter melon drink without ice and unfortunately had to have it fixed as it came with ice. Like Red Flame, the hot pot dishes come on their own stoves. Mine was very hot and eventually I had to have the flame extinguished early on, as the broth was starting to jump up and boil violently. (Some it hit my arm - thankfully it wasn't too hot to burn my arm yet.) The flavors were good though. Unfortunately, the dish didn't sit well with my stomach as I experienced nausea the next day. Sure, the wait at BP is always long, but the 1.5 hours here were purely due to operational inefficiency and one of the host's slowness/lack of urgency rather than actual customer demand. Before and while dining, there was always 2-4 tables open. At least there's a 99 Ranch in the same plaza so you can shop while you wait? Food (3/5): The new deal with extra meat and AYCE rice seems like a gimmick to be more competitive with similar restaurant concepts. I didn't feel like there was significantly more meat, and the meat quality seems to have gone down. The ingredients were also haphazardly chopped. Rice wasn't fully cooked but thankfully got replaced. The broth was great like always though. Old time milk tea at this location was not good- tastes like nondairy creamer. Service (2/5): The service is pretty inconsistent. Some people are working hard and on top of it, but others are just staring at their iPad and have no follow through or urgency towards requests. I LOVE Boiling Point, it's been my favorite hotpot place for years now! I was very excited to hear about their new menu: double meat and AYCE rice and a medium drink. Comes out to be about $25-30 per person after tax and tip, and we were very full after eating. It definitely hit the spot! However, the wait sucks. We waited about 1.5hr for 2 people and came Sunday around 6pm. The wait is usually long, but I've usually been sat under an hour especially before 7pm. While eating, we noticed that multiple tables were left open or it took awhile to get bussed/cleaned. The line only grew longer and the service was slow. Personally think that there were enough servers and they were not understaffed, there was just no sense of urgency. They were kind, but I felt like we just had to keep asking for things. Closing out and running our cards took a very long time... Will I come back again? Yes, but probably earlier in the day and less hungry so I won't get hangry while waiting. This is a great spot for a late dinner. I came here after climbing at movement around 10PM. Ample parking space and we were seated right away. I got the lamb hotpot solely because of the macros haha. Such a delicious hot pot restaurant. There are so many variety of options from lamb, beef, tofu, to seafood hot pots that you can choose from. Broths are so savory and refillable upon request. Your food basically is served boiling in front of you! (You can ask the servers to turn off the fire at any time or reignite it). Options come with things like mushrooms, cabbage, noodles, corn, etc depending on which option you choose (they are preselected based on your meat or nonmeat option). You can still request to add other items to your hot pot or ask to remove things. My favorite is the lamb. It is super savory and the meat is lean. (It does come with some blood gelatin so if that is not your thing, make sure to ask for it to not be added in). Came here with some friends and waited roughly 30 mins for a party of 4. Unfortunately there are no reservations and it's first come first serve (must sign in at the electronic kiosk upon arrival). It is totally worth the wait though! read more

This is my review on the Cerritos location. Food 10/10. The food at BP will never disappoint. I always get a beef medium with rice and black tea. It's my tried and true go to. SO delicious Service 1/10. Out of every BP location I have been to, the service here is definitely the worst. Very inattentive and I see them chatting in the back quite often. LISTEN. I love eating here and I know BP can get very busy and understaffed which I can totally understand. But I have eaten here around lunch on a Tuesday where there's maybe 2 other customers eating and their service is still super slow. I would have to flag waiters down to give me the bill at least twice. My friend has gotten her card mixed with another customer before. Service needs to be improved on. Wait times honestly vary on when you plan on eating here. If you come on a weekend during dinner hours, prepare to wait at least an hour and a half. I've gone to this location for the past 2 years and while their Taiwanese Spicy hotpot remains delicious, I've noticed a downhill on service and wait times (as you'll notice from more recent reviews). Food & Value (3/5): My husband and I love their Taiwanese Spicy hotpot. The broth flavor is rich, savory, and has a nice, fragrant Asian spice taste to it. First thing I eat is always the ramen in it before it gets too soft. Aside from the meat, I love the intestines, tofu skins and blood cubes. There's admittedly a lot of cabbage to bulk it up and they are not always consistent in including the right amount of fish balls. One dinner, both of our hotpots were pretty skimp on ingredients including cabbage, so they may need to check their inventory. Speaking of checking inventory, a month ago, they were all out of their popular garlic bean paste by mid-afternoon and resorted to limiting each customer to two packets of their takeout sauce. I don't even know what dinner would have looked like that night since one of their key dipping sauces were limited before then. Service (2/5): As others said, the wait is horrendous. We came here around 3 and another time around 4 thinking the wait would be decent. Think again. It took an hour or over an hour to be seated for a family of three (one baby), today included. Considering the food they serve, you would think filling tables wouldn't be an issue as the worker drops the pot on the table with assembled ingredients and leaves the customer to eat for the next half hour or so. Many people were still waiting outside or in their cars. The crazy thing is that when you walk in, there are several tables still open. I think they are understaffed for the afternoon, as dinner crew didn't come in until 5:30 or so and could have used them earlier. Workers are also busy/distracted despite fewer tables waited on, so flagging them down is a common thing. This is definitely a management issue overall. Ambiance (4/5): While it's nice in there with music, warm lighting, and music, it's marred by the fact that service and management could use some improvement. I've seen many people come in to eat and catch up with friends or simply on a date or family meal. I ordered drinks there with my food and I had to ask multiple times where my drink was because by then I was nearing the end of my meal. My drinks didn't come out til the end of my meal. Not to mention that when I went they weren't even busy with empty tables and they didn't explain why they took forever with our drinks. This isn't the first time where the service is bad, another time I came in they told us to wait to be seated, which is fine, but there was no wait in front of us, fhere were tables already set up, it was just me and a friend, and they just kinda left us there until we asked again when we will be seated after waiting for like ten minutes. By then there were multiple people waiting and it just caused a huge rush of people in the store, when it could have been fixed if they just sat people as soon as they could instead of just waiting for everyone to come in and mass seat everyone. The servers also forget your order sometimes and you have to repeatedly ask them for them to give a single care about your meal. If you aren't sitting at a booth, the tables and the chairs are so close to the next stand alone table and the chairs are metal and extremely uncomfortable. The person next to me was so close and these soup boxes are hot! There's a chance of spillage so close to other tables. Alongside the tables are unstable. The person next to me complained about her shaky table as to not spill her soup. Anyways, wish for a better group of employees who are enthusiastic, proactive, and welcoming. The only downside about this is that it served cold. Service: - the only reason I rate them 2 stars is because of the service. The staff were friendly and respectful, but the system they run is not efficient at all. - the servers were all over the place. A server taking orders one minute would be sitting people down another minute, and then cleaning tables another minute. Although the staffs are well-rounded, the customers are left hanging. Our soup burned because we couldn't track down our server, let alone any server, to put out the flame. We had ordered two more items later on and received only one of them not at least 15 mins later. Ambiance: - seems packed and loud because of all the customers, but it was pretty calm and quiet inside. Plenty of space to move around, but for someone's first time in the restaurant, it could be quite confusing. There's some type of cash register in the very front of the restaurant, which I'm not technically sure what it is for. Checking in was the most confusing part as well, not just for the customers but also for the staff. There's an iPad app right when you enter but serves no purpose. There's a clipboard with a chart/tabling looking paper with "soup record" on it. This was the sign in sheet. We were so confused, we asked a staff how we were supposed to sign in and she said "I'm not sure, let mme ask". She never came back so we just wrote out name.
