This place has everything! Free parking, great ambiance, smiling, friendly and efficient wait staff...to die for drinks ...and everything we had from the menu was delicious. The lobster bisque was some of the best I've had and had PLENTY of chunks of lobster in it. I also had lobster Mac and cheese- a same lumps of lobster meat present!! Great for date night - though I was at a business meeting - I still felt like I was on a date!!!! We sat In the large and expansive , well - appointed, patio area and could hear the crash of the waves. It felt like I was in Hawaii on vacation. I mean- who could ask for more. Their specialty old fashioned is not to be missed if you like whiskey. The aroma alone could keep you satisfied. Great job!! read more

Decided to take my Mom to lunch for Labor Day (9/5/22). The entire staff was very welcoming and pleasant from the time we entered. Although there was a 30-40 minute wait, it was to be expected at 12 noon on a holiday. Once we were seated, the exceptional experience really began to unfold. Our waitress, Bernadette was exceptional from beginning to end. I could also hear how she interacted with the other tables in her section. Just a gem! It's been awhile since I have received excellent service at a restaurant paired with tasty menu items. Most of the time when I order hot tea which is more than 99% of the time, the waiters typically neglect to ask if I want more hot water. Bernadette asked us 3 times which is a big deal. If you are a tea drinker then you know. She also gives very honest recommendations from her favs. I definitely can appreciate that because there has been far you many times when I've gone to a restaurant and the waiter "hasn't tried XYZ" or is reluctant to speak well on the menu items. Just for review purposes, my Mom ordered the fish and chips. I can say this was made very well. The fish was very meaty. The panko bread crumbs is the best way to bread/coat fish. They also include hush puppies which accompany the fish very well. It also came with a bed of French fries and a side of Cole slaw which was good too. The Cole slaw did not contain more mayo than it needed. I ordered the baby greens salad with grilled mushrooms. The salad was delicious!!! Now let's talk about the grilled mushrooms. Superb! Very flavorful and honestly I have never had grilled mushrooms made this well ever. Lastly, Bernadette recommended the cheesecake. Wow! So delicious and decadent. The shot of amaretto liquor poured over the top was amazing. It took the already delicious cheesecake to another level. That's not it! There were brûlée'd banana slices. So good. Especially when splashed in the amaretto. Of course you don't have to have the Amaretto liquor. It comes as a shot on the side but I 10000% recommend unless you are sharing with children. In that case, go ahead and eight-six it. Another thing that I haven't experienced in a long time at a restaurant was the manager going around to the tables asking if everything is okay. This is always a nice touch. I will definitely be back again for the service as well as to try the mud pie and key lime. More so for the overall experience! I give this place 5 stars. I didn't even mention how beautiful the scenery is. The ocean view is always a good idea. read more

QUICKIE UPDATE: Went back and had "Chicken Under a Brick, Seafood Pasta, and Key Lime Pie." Chicken under a brick was ok, but the seafood pasta and key lime pie, goodness. Those two were delectable. Would recommend those two for anyone that has a love for pasta + seafood and a solid pie. Absolutely wonderful place. We spent lunch here on our 10 year anniversary. Breathtaking view, beyond hospitable staff, and some of the best food I've had in years. Filet mingon was seared perfectly, sort of avocado based puree they had with it was also fantastic. Poké and oysters were the freshest you can ask for, and the lobster Mac n' cheese was OUT OF THIS WORLD. You have us as repeat customers for life. This was my first time eating in public since the pandemic restrictions lifted. I am very glad I chose C Level. They had all the tables spaced apart generously. They also have nice see through partitions that made me feel more comfortable about taking off my mask while I ate. The staff was super friendly. The meal was amazing. We had the coconut shrimp and the fish and chips all of which were delicious. I loved the lobster bisque and crab cakes too. The Bloody Mary with the crab claw and chilled shrimp is a must order! Of course you can't beat the view at C level. I also thought the prices were very fair. We were super full after our meal was finished so we walked around and checked out the views for awhile afterwards. This meal was certainly worth crawling out of my cave for! read more

Beautiful views for lunch. Staff is friendly. Specially our waiter was funny and entertaining Enjoyed our lunch here. They follow covid protocols and sanitize tables after each visit. I cannot rave about this place enough! I'd highly recommend patio seating bc the view is spectacular. You can get the beautiful view from inside too but the vibe outdoors was amazing. Our server (which I forgot his name but had a cool mustache) was very attentive and had extremely good recommendations. They have a kids menu with a petite steak and just a bunch of cute adorable options for little picky eaters. It looked so good I almost wanted to order off of it. Their drinks are good quality and they don't mess around with the liquor. So kudos on that. The food I cannot talk enough of. The ingredients are top quality ingredients. The pasta seemed fresh made, along with the rest of our foods. Everything was fresh and light, but very satisfying. I got the catch of the day which was Corvina. My first time ever trying it and I LOVED IT. I still talk about it. It is a little pricey but it's Sam Diego and it's 2022, everything is $$$. But I would highly highly recommend this place for its excellent service and top quality food. read more

Beautiful restaurant with gorgeous view of the San Diego skyline. Refreshing salads and a good wine list. Live music was a little too loud so we had to speak up to hear each other... We did find a table on a Sunday afternoon, although a reservation is highly recommended as the place is popular. read more

Our hotel concierge recommended my husband and I go here while we were in San Diego on our Honeymoon. Boy, was she right. We went later in the evening last Friday and had an half hour wait. It wasn't a bad wait - we just leaned against the railing and marveled at the stunning city lights across the water. It was breathtaking and peaceful. When we were seated, we still had spectacular views of downtown San Diego. Our waitress was kind and friendly. The coconut shrimp we ordered as an appetizer came out FAST. I swear they had it ready for us before we even sat down. The shrimp was hot and cooked expertly. The crunch on the outside was so satisfying! It was hard to decide what to eat due to everything looking amazing. My husband ordered the fish and chips and I got the seafood pasta. IT WAS SO MUCH FOOD. Everything was melt-in-your-mouth good. There wasn't a single mediocre bite. For dessert we ordered the brownie topped with homemade peanut butter ice cream and brûlée'd bananas. Yes. Read that again. Okay, now go order that. I think we would travel the 2.5 hour flight south just to eat this dessert again. read more

I don't understand the rave reviews on this place. The view is amazing, everything else is average. The food presentation was nice, but subpar in taste. The oysters were tiny and not worth the price ( they should not be selling them when they are the size of a clam). The initial greeting was friendly, after that did not see any wait staff come around. Had to go to the bar drink area to request the bill after waiting and waiting... and yes they automatically add a 5% surcharge. read more

I would recommend making a reservation. This venue can fill up quickly. Parking is plentiful. We were escorted to an outdoor, covered patio, with beautiful ocean views. A host provided water immediately. Our server, Kyle was friendly and knowledgeable. He provided great recommendations, for lunch and seemed to always know what we needed next. The overall service was excellent. I highly recommend, the Ahi Tuna Stack as an appetizer, and the Mud Pie for dessert. read more

Dined there on Mother's Day. Reservation was for 2:30pm. Four hostesses at the hostess stand, and just like the Ferrari guy mentioned in a prior review, they were totally clueless. Would have been nice if there was also a door person present to assist in opening and closing the large entrance door to the restaurant. Once seated, the bus person was on par with water and pop overs. Took quite some time for an actual waitress to come to our table. Mindy was her name. She was enthusiastic at first, but then slipped away for the majority of our experience. Found out we were her last table for the day and was taking Monday as a "stay cation." For a $100 a plate, very disappointing. The staff congregated at their bar areas/cleaning areas and chatted amongst themselves. We ordered a nice bottle of Chardonnay and I ended up having to pour it for the four of us. Unbelievable for a fine dining restaurant! Mindy no where in sight even after our entrees were served from some other person. She failed to check up on us. I had to flag down our waitress once she came back from a break most likely to ask for water refills. The water was so melted , there was no ice. I had to ask for a separate glass of ice to cool down my water. Really disappointed. Service for that kind of place needs an overhaul. Nice view but won't be back. Step it up! read more

I have been going to C Level for many years and have never had a bad meal or cocktail there. I love bringing friends and visitors to enjoy the beautiful ambiance. Doesn't get any better for enjoyable dining with a view! Warm and welcoming staff with socially-distanced seating and outstanding food. Everything is good here but the Calamari with Vietnamese dipping sauce, Lobster and Fontina BLT with Lobster Bisque and the French Dip with fontina cheese, roasted red peppers and carmelized onions are especially good. For a healthier choice, nothing beats the Healthy Skirts on Fire Salad. The Mud Pie for dessert is a delicious showstopper. The portion is huge and can easily accommodate a party of 4-6. read more

To be completely honest, I WANT to give the restaurant a 3 star rating. The service was actually so bad :( but I must say the food was pretty good. It seems pretty pricey, but you're also paying for the ambience and the view. I thought the burger would be meh because it's a burger at a higher end restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised (would recommend for burger lovers) Only problem I had was with the service.. not the best batch of servers as they just didn't do their job very well read more

The oysters were just amazing! I love how they were each unique in taste and so fresh. Wishes I had ordered more. The clam chowder was good, though I'm unsure how it goes well with biscuit when biscuit doesn't do well in soaking up the chowder like a bread would. So, this was alright to me. It was hearty, lightly tangy and acidic, yet had that slightly creamy flavor to it. Hiramasa collar was superb. There was plenty of fish meat on it and yes, requires some work compared to a fillet, but the flavor from the collar is not something you can get from a fillet. Worth the extra effort to eat it! It had a funky smell to the area and there was poor ventilation. I wanted to step out but I refrained. Everything felt stuffy in that section. The only nice person was the male staff member at the front for checkin. The rest of the staff were not very friendly. The hostess who walked us to our table was not very friendly and just rushed things. Took our drink orders, and didn't say much. Just walked off. I was surprised to see the pitchers with the beverages were sitting on top of a counter outside where customers are, without any lids. Anyone can just walk by and touch or spit in them. Thought that was not very hygienic... Different sections of food. I never expect food at buffets to be of good quality or taste excellent, so the food items were all mediocre. The teppanyaki grill was... well, let's just say they use the same spatula for everyone's entreés. You load up your plate and the cook throws everything on the grill. Uses the same spatulas to cook everyone's food. If you have allergies or sensitivity to spice, then probably avoid this section. He cooked the meat for someone else's plate and then touched the veggies for the other. Used mod spice level sauce for one, and then same spatula on my entreé. My order was non-spicy, but it had a kick since the neighboring sauce got onto my stir fry. Dessert section isn't even labeled.... meaning, the baked/dessert items aren't labeled other than the gelato flavors. Crab legs were very salty. Lobster claws in the cold section were OK though. The warm lobster they serve is limited to 1 per person per serving. Long line, and if they run out, you have to wait or return when they serve again. People were waiting in line while eating their food... the lobsters are tiny, dry, and with very little meat. It is definitely not worth paying the extra for lobster night. The amount of waiting time is ridiculous and there is no guarantee that you can even get a lobster. Some groups have 1 person waiting in line and then when it is their turn, the rest of the group members (5-7) cut the whole line to each get a lobster. I was trying to get 1 for my mother, and I didn't get to eat one, but didn't mind since it didn't even look good. Rest of the foods were mediocre too. I had 1 plate that wasn't even full... lost my appetite. Wouldn't return. Hygiene.... cross contamination... Some people say this place is like the old Pala casino buffet or Las Vegas buffet- definitely not the case. Parking can be compact. Gets busy around 5:45p it seems as more people were waiting in the lobby.

The price wasn't even as high as many of the other sashimi places we've tried! They give you only 2 fish choices on the plate, however. They have listed about 5 or 6 different kinds, but it depends on what is available. We had salmon & tuna. Salmon is my favorite, but their tuna was fantastic! First time I can say I may have liked it better than the salmon!! Their other dishes we had were also yummy. My daughter loves scallops & they were cooked to perfection. I don't usually like scallops because most places cook them till they're rubbery. Not this place! My husband had swordfish & I had the sea bass. Both were also delicious, but I think they may have mixed up which plate went to which person. Good thing, as we were trying each others' food, my daughter noted the slight texture difference between the two (I hadn't had a chance to taste them yet). Even though I'm Asian, I'm not one who usually eats the rice. It's usually just a filler for me, & since I don't eat much, I'd rather eat the "other stuff" & usually leave most of the rice. Not here! I almost couldn't get enough of it, lol! So good!! At the end, we needed boxes. We had to ask two different waitresses since the first one we asked never came with them. It's an "order at the register then find a table" type of place, so there wasnt any "service" to speak of. Be prepared to stand in line - this place is popular for a reason! We drive an HOUR to this freaking place to get turned away at the door because it's technically "a bar" even though they have a full dinner menu. When I point out none of this is advertised anywhere, I'm informed it's on Open Table, and that we should've seen it there, and were dismissed. They said they could give us another restaurant recommendation and then proceeded to just dismiss us without even that courtesy. We go back to verify this age limit, and it's there... one TINY line 2 scrolls down on the page, WAY beyond any of the information needed to just book a table, which is the only thing Open Table is used for. Complete waste of time for a poorly advertised bar with zero helpful staff on a dumpy street by the airport.
