Just visited for the first time and really enjoyed it. 4 1/2 stars is more accurate. Ambiance and Service - 5 stars. Staff was great and the restaurant is lovely. Food - 4 to 4 1/2 stars. Foie Gras was nice but the combination of textures was a little strange - toast was hard and the foie gras seemed undercooked for "seared". Tasty but not worth the price. Escargot was good. Veal was excellent as was the scallop and shrimp linguine. One note - take the shrimp shells off completely - don't leave the tails on. No one wants to dig into their food and take off shells at a nice restaurant. Souffles were very good, also. It's pricey but we'll definitely go back for a special occasion. read more

Everything about this restaurant is on point. The service is great and I would recommend any servers who are looking to improve their service to come here and just observe. The food is always great and you can tell the kitchen takes pride in their work. If the accordion guy is there be careful around him he might steal your date. If you go ask for the soufflé and ask ahead of time for their convenience. Also definitely ask for a wine paring with your meal if you like wine. These guys know their stuff trust me. read more

Wonderful meal w/great friends! If you like French food as I do - Do yourself a favor, and treat yourself to Cadot. I just regret that I didn't take any pictures. They have daily specials to tempt you and I got their beef bourguignon, yum & excellent. A friend enjoyed the frog legs (not for me but if you like them, here you go!). My husband ordered Scallops & shrimp but wasn't as pleased for some reason (why I held back to 4 stars). Service was spectacular. I can't recommend Eduardo enough, he's a true career waiter in the best sense. He was informed, gave us what we wanted & made our visit w/friends a seemless event. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable and everything you would hope for from a French restaurant. We had so much fun that we were the last ones there except for the owner and waiter. Fabulous Dinner Without a doubt one of our favorite restaurants when in town. Staff friendly, helpful and efficient. Atmosphere pleasant romantic with dress business casual. Great for a date night. Although location is in a strip mall this French Restaurant family goes out of its way to please. The food was delicious and portions were decent size with nice presentation. They are in a strip mall but this is 5 star dining without the high prices. From the nightly specials to the sweet desserts , this menu has something for everyone. Very nice, pandemic safe distance patio dining consisted of the Seared Hudson valley Foie Gras, Shrimp and scallop linguine and I finished off the night with a Grand Marnier soufflé. Came here for my birthday dinner with My boyfriend and his Mom. We had a reservation around 7pm, came SUPER early around 6pm. We walked inside and the staff was standing in a row staring, kinda weird but they were nice. We had a table reserved and got sat right away. So heres my experience. Service: The waitress at first seemed frazzled, but she was very nice. She later was a bit more focus and did continually check on us , but not enough to be annoying. However the weird part was, was a man who was the busser I think? Kept walking around just started at our tables, I guess he was checking plates but it was just a weirs stare. There was also an acordian player who was playing music later on in the evening. Food: The bread we got before dinner was delicious. For apps we all ordered the french onion soup, it was very good at the top but the broth I thought needed a bit more salt. For dinner I got the Pecan crusted Sea Bass, with butternut squash , and gnocchi with a leake sauce. The gnocchi was delicious, full of flavor, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The Sea Bass I thought also needed a bit more salt and I could have done without the pecans. But the sauce was very good. For dessset I got the profiteroles. They put a candle and wrote Happy Birthday on it, they also offered complimentary champange to everyone, which I thought was nice. The ice cream was delicious, creamy and sweet. I think the profiteroles were a bit over baked and the sauce a bit too bitter but overall delicious. If I came back I would try other things on the menu, I wish everything was cooked with more salt. And wished the service wasn't so awkward at times, otherwise a decent place with much promise. read more

It's been some time since we had dined at Cadot and I was shocked at their prices. Salads and wine by the glass remain very reasonable, but $69 for rack of lamb is $22 higher than comparable restaurants we frequent. Filet was equally priced higher. My favorite salad was still $10, but the pecans in it were a bit rancid. Beware that prices on their online menu. aren't the current pricing. read more

For mains we had the sole and a trout special, both were outstanding. Desert was chocolate lava cake and beignets. The lava cake was ok, not the french chocolate fondant expected but still good. This was supposed to be a "French Restaurant." However, with the exception of some French-themed photos on the wall, some French wine and French dessert, there was nothing "French" about this place. The food was good but nothing spectacular and the service was good. However, at one point the Server dropped a paper menu on the floor, kicked it across the floor a few times to get it away from the tables, then picked it up and took it to the Hostess Station where it was promptly put back into the stack of menus!! That's just DIRTY!! I don't want to be holding a menu, prior to eating my meal, that was just drug across a dirty floor. That's unacceptable. read more

Brought my husband here for his birthday dinner. France is a special place to us and after finding out the chef worked at Michelin star restaurants, I thought this would be the perfect spot. We ended up getting escargot, foie gras, and Prosecco to start, which was all great. My husband ordered the pork chop and I ordered the seafood pasta. When the pork chop came out my husband couldn't cut the pork chop without shaking the whole table. He sent it back, because that is not how a pork chop cooked in apple brandy should be. When he received his new cut, it was completely RAW like the chef was giving a big F you. At this point, we were extremely offended and now I had to eat my food without him, on HIS birthday. He then ordered the salmon as another replacement, but it wasn't what he wanted in the first place. When the check came, we asked to speak to a manager about the issue with the pork chop and how offended we were about being served raw pork. We discussed we should've been charged for what we ordered initially after their mistakes. The manager stated they could not adjust the price by the 30dollars without Chef approval, so we then got to speak with the Chef. We told the chef how offended we were about getting a pork chop that looked like Seared Ahi Tuna and he then argued with us for 20minutes about how a pork chop was supposed to be cooked and then admitted that he was not in the kitchen at the time. He accepted no responsibility for his kitchen/establishment and said he was frustrated about throwing out the food instead of making it right with us. Arguing over 30dollars on a 200dollar tab is a joke. Every self-respecting restauranteur in Dallas would've made this right. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

It was our first time trying this restaurant last Saturday night and boy are we glad we did! The atmosphere was wonderful. It is a beautifully decorated restaurant with a warm friendly feel to it. Dim lighting, romantic, really pretty restaurant. Our waiter was Billy and he was terrific. Very helpful with the wine suggestion. We had the escargot, the gazpacho, the tilapia and the flatiron steak with truffle fries..... It was all melt in your mouth fabulous. Every bite was delicious. For dessert we had the opera cake and profiteroles again just out of this world. I think we have a new favorite special place to go and I can't wait to return!! read more

Last night's dining experience took me on a culinary journey to the City of Lights, Paris France; where Chef Jean-Marie Cadot had his genesis. As soon as I walked through the doors, I was greeted by the warm host who asked, "No lady this evening?" The same was inquired by my waiter, "Not accompanied by one of your lady friends?" LOL! Live music and laughter occupied the room. This white tableclothed, elegant establishment of fine dining also has a strong sense of embraced family. Mesdames et Messieurs de la découverte de la RVA, je vous révèle, Cadot Restaurant. . Appetizer- Succulent ecscargot sauteed in a savory white pernod spinach garlic cream sauce. . This dish was absolutely delectable. I took some of the French baguette provided at the top of the meal and went to town on the sauce. Lol! . Entree- Crispy Sweetbreads escorted by an amazing butternut squash, topped by a mound of strawed potatoes, with fresh snow peas, complimented by a sweet Madeira Demi-Glace. . Fam, I had no idea what "Sweetbreads" were until I looked it up. Sweetbreads are an organ meat from the thymus gland and pancreas. The easiest sweetbreads to find are from veal, ris de veau; or lamb, ris d'agneau. Beef and pork sweetbreads are also available. . Wine Pairing- a glass of Bougrier, Rose D'Anjou, 2017, Loire, France . Eduardo- Your service and patience was much obliged. Much success to you in all your future endeavors. . Perfect French bistro with exquisite service. We were craving some brasserie food and decided to pop in to Cadot. We were lucky that they were able to seat us so quickly. Service was on point, (waiters scraped the crumbs off the table before the next course), food was perfection (duck breast was succulent, scallops fresh, and steak was juicy) and loved loved loved the soufflé at the end. Visited Cadot with my food group last night. The atmosphere is classy yet welcoming. Rui was a world class waiter waiter-- funny, attentive and knowledgeable. The entire staff was pleasant from start to end and they were BUSY. The escargot was be flavorful. Lots of left over sauce which was great to dip the complimentary bread in. What a wonderful dining experience for our 8th anniversary. I love french food so, I want to share details of our time there. Hopefully tempting others to enjoy the delight. We got a table out on their patio which was lovely. Not overcrowded at all. Were tended to right away with ice water as we sat down and was brought warm bread only minutes later. Our waiter, Jose, was extremely attentive, nice and helpful. My s/o got a beer and I got a mojito. I asked for a side of sprite since the drink was a touch strong. He gladly took the drink back, put in some sprite, added a touch of ice and put it in a bigger glass. Perfect! To start, I ordered the crab cake and my s/o got the onion soup. The crab cake was flavorful, moist and a good crisp on the outside. The balsamic reduction; divine. Unfortunately, my s/o soup was lukewarm. Positively scrumptious and beautifully melted cheese but, it seemed like someone may have filled the mini cauldron (so cute) with warmish soup before popping it under the broiler. So, outside hot. Inside not. Onto the entrees. I got the seabass and my s/o got the filet mignon. Both great and cooked well. (I seriously could have drank the chardonnay sauce that came with my dinner) My s/o commented how the filet was cooked just right. Also, the portions seem small but, are delightfully filling. Satisfying, not heavy. Finally, onto the desserts, which I highly recommend you try. If you're interested in one of their souffles, order ahead of time. They make them to order and it takes about 20-30. We just couldn't decide so, ended up ordering 3 desserts to share. A chocolate souffle, the creme brulee and the opera cake. The only tiny thing I will point out regarding the desserts, is the opera cake was cold. I've made a lot of desserts and eaten a lot of desserts. You don't serve cake made of delicate sponge, covered in chocolate glaze, cold. The chef mentioned he makes it in house himself so, I was excited for layers of silky buttercream, perfectly moistened sponge and smooth, rich ganache. But, in attempts to take a spoonful, the layers just fell apart. Which for me is just a shame. The souffle though, wow! What a rise! Creme brulee? Can you say heaven in your mouth? Also, while enjoying our desserts, the head chef was going around saying hello and asking about their meals. It was wonderful to see that quality of service from a restaurant. It makes you feel welcomed. Not just dollar bills that walked through the door. All in all, we will definitely be back. Wonderful service, wonderful food, wonderful place. read more

I ordered the foie gras and I immediately pictured the Parisian snow coming down and the warm restaurant interior with the Champs-Élysées outside the window. The chef owner-- Jean-Marie -- is warm, unpretentious, and fantastic... and... VERY French. My server and bar tender, Shanon, was perfect. To sum up, I feel, as someone who frequents many restaurants and is well traveled all over the world, Cadot is a North Dallas gem. I've been wanting to try this French restaurant for some time now. I decided to take a client for lunch and wasn't disappointed. Pleasant lunch on the patio and the food was very good. Salad: Warm Goat Cheese - with mixed greens, pine nuts, prosciutto trimmed with balsamic. Very good. Lunch: Veal dish was absolutely delicious. Dessert: the Grand Marnier soufflé was excellent! Cadot is simply lovely. The beautiful space, the spectacular service, the impressive food...every aspect of Cadot has been executed beautifully. I met some fellow Yelpers for lunch and once I got past my initial feelings of intimidation - white linen tablecloths and menus that need interpreting aren't exactly my forte - I enjoyed myself immensely. I'll admit I'm not an expert at eating food that doesn't come from a place with "shack" in the name, but I do recognize good food when I see it. Let me be clear on one point, Cadot is not a casual dining restaurant. Meals at Cadot are meant to be savored, courses are set at a pace to allow maximum enjoyment of the food and ambiance, and nothing is rushed at an attempt to turn over the table as quickly as possible. Our lunch clocked in at a little over 1.5 hours and that was with us rushing it a bit toward the end. We decided to share an appetizer and chose the Crispy Duck Confit Spring Rolls with Apricot Orange Sauce. (yes, a little cheating with the online menu is required for this review) I'm not an expert on duck, but these were wonderful. The duck was cooked perfectly so that it wasn't stringy or chewy (my only duck experience thus far). The apricot orange sauce added a subtle layer of flavor. I decided to have a sandwich (and after reading Jennifer R's review, I now wish I'd added soup) and picked the Ciabata Chicken Paillard, with Tomato Arugula, Swiss Cheese and Red Onion that came with the thinnest shoestring fries I've ever had. The sandwich was a good choice for lunch and I really enjoyed the flavor added by the arugula and am glad it wasn't regular lettuce. The french fries were exactly as I like fries, hot and crunchy. Aimee Z. and Flor V. ordered Profiteroles with Guandula Chocolate Sauce and Fresh Strawberries for dessert and both graciously offered up one for me to try. Talk about little puffy balls of dessert heaven. The service was spectacular. It seemed our server was ever present at our table but it didn't feel like he was hovering, our drinks were never allowed to become less than 1/2 full and our food was delivered by multiple people so that every plate was put on the table at almost the same time. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed myself at Cadot. I can't say it will make it to my list of weekly visited restaurants, but Cadot has certainly been added to my list of special treats. read more

Divine. Gordon Ramsay-tier French food. We ordered take out for a birthday dinner and tried a lot of the menu. The onion soup is delicious and fresh and high quality. The dover has a delicate taste and was wonderfully prepared. The veal was scrumptious and tender and carefully balanced. I went to Cadot for restaurant week and am sad to say that the food, ambiance and prices are better at St. Martin's. Cadot is just a notch above Lavendou, however. The service wasn't spectacular and the food was just OK and not very memorable. After reading all the great reviews, I was expecting so much more. For appetizers, we had escargot and a salad. For the entrees, we tried the the duck confit, spare ribs and salmon. For our desserts, we tried the strawberry melba, opera cake and mango panna cotta. Out of all the dishes we tried, I would say that the escargot, salmon, opera cake and mango panna cotta were the best dishes from each category.
