I took my mother to Café Zupas to get a light lunch. A salad from Café Zupas is always a good choice in the summer. My mom got the Strawberry Harvest salad (House-Chopped Mixed Greens, Cage-Free Chicken, Strawberries, Fontina Cheese, Gala Apples, Dried Cranberries & Candied Pecans with Strawberry Champagne Vinaigrette), while I had the BBQ Chicken salad (House-Chopped Mixed Greens, Roasted Chicken, Red Onions, Grape Tomatoes, Fire-Roasted Corn, Black Olives, Black Beans & Tortilla Strips With Buttermilk Ranch Dressing & Sweet BBQ Sauce). Your meal always includes a roll and chocolate covered strawberry (my favorite part). Our table could have been a little cleaner but the staff were friendly and helpful. I recommend Café Zupas.

I am a huge fan of the soup, salad and dessert options here. Today I tried a "pick 2" option with a turkey bacon avocado sandwich and the curry soup. Delivery wasn't available so I did pick up through the drive thru. Food was amazing; love the option to add-on extras to the soup like white rice. The portion size was great; I got side of bread, crackers, and chocolate dipped strawberry free with my meal. Only thing I found odd was the drive thru. There is an outside lane for orders placed ahead. I was confused where to park. Other than that this is a great spot for a bite. It's conveniently located off lake cook. Staff is all very kind & food is prepped quickly.

Cafe Zupas has new additions to its menu. Most notably are the protein bowls. The Nourish bowl alone has 28g of protein. If interested in a sandwich, the Mediterranean Chicken Sandwich is also nourishing. Staff was super helpful and friendly with prompt service. The modern, industrial kitchen look is refreshing, especially the use of seasonings to decorate the walls. It did not disappoint! Thank you!!

Disgusting! Long hair in the salad mix of the protein bowls. Manager started claiming they do not have anyone with long hair instead of correcting the issue.

I stopped by for a lunch: ordered combo of soup and half of pesto sandwich. Portions were generous, food tasted great, was offered a dinner roll and a chocolate covered strawberry. I was greeted with a smile in the beginning, got my food pronto (sandwich should be prepared and grilled), and cashier was accommodating and cheerful. The store is cute, plenty of sitting options, including outside. Drive through ordering is also available. Great place for a meal alone or with friends and family.

There appeared to be a private party going on, and to be fair, they seemed to be having a fantastic time. I, meanwhile, mostly felt like an NPC in the background of their celebration. Service was a little off-putting -- not outright bad, just the kind that makes you wonder if you somehow interrupted something important by ordering food. I tried the Chkmeruli (garlic chicken) and khachapuri. Both were decent enough, but at around $45 total, I kept waiting for the "wow, this is worth it" moment that never really arrived. The khachapuri was fine, the chicken was fine... everything was just aggressively okay. To be fair, your mileage may vary. I may have caught them on an off night, and clearly other people there were enjoying themselves. But based on this visit, it felt less like a cozy culinary discovery and more like paying cover charge to awkwardly attend a party I wasn't invited to.

The Megrulian Khachapuri is traditional Georgian flat bread, made from a yeast dough and baked with a savory cheese filling, and a second layer of cheese baked on top. It was served right from the oven cut into wedge shaped slices and was delicious. Our shared lamb Kebab was a very generous portion of large chunks of grilled lamb. Served in a bowl with its natural juices topped with thin sliced onions, it was perfectly seasoned, tender, and cooked to a perfect medium rare as we had requested. A side of the Georgian version of ketchup was an excellent accompaniment, tart, tasting of garlic and herbs with just a bit of heat. Service was very good, prices are reasonable, and the dining room spacious and attractively decorated. I recommend Kitchen House Cafe, and we look forward to coming back to try more of the Georgian dishes listed on their menu.

And, dare I say, better version. Except for their avgolemeno soup. Such a weak travesty. Please fix this. It's just a watery mess. However, everything else is delicious. I ordered the Greek Chicken with their lemon-butter rice. They debone the chicken and serve atop a mountain of their rice. If also had their potatoes (which are good) but the rice is magical. The first time we went, they had a serve yourself soda fountain and they since got rid of it and sell soda in bottles and cans. They do still have a self-serve water station. Since there was a total of 11 and the seating is first come first serve, we decided to call to see if they had reservations. They did take our name and reserved a table. When we arrived we noticed a table was reserved and we were informed that it was our table. We sat and looked over the menus. When we were ready my 2 boys and I went up to place our order. My one son has major allergies so we spoke to the chef and he came back out to recommend the dishes he can have. It was great that he did so and gave us confidence that my son would be able to eat without worrying too much about the ingredients. I ordered the Shrimp Kalamakia with a side of the Greek Rice. My son with the allergies ordered the Pork Kalamakia with Greek Rice and no pita, my other son ordered the Traditional Pork Gyro with Greek Rice. The sides we ordered: Saganaki Fritters and Spanakopitakia. My son that ordered the Pork Kalamakia devoured it. He said it was tender and juicy and probably could have eaten 4 skewers. My Shrimp Kalamakia was nicely charred and seasoned, I squeezed some lemon and it provided a nice tang over the seasoning. The Lemon rice pilaf was soft and cook just right and was nicely balanced. I had one Saganaki Ball and it was delicious. My son had the Pork Gyros said it was really good and the Tzatziki sauce was creamy and rich with flavors. My in-laws bought the table desserts and I got the Baklava and my wife got Loukoumades (Greek Donuts with Nutella) and both did not disappoint. I really loved the citrus honey syrup in the Baklava. The Loukoumades had a crispy shell and nice a fluffy on the inside and the Nutella amount was perfect. This place is very good and well worth the price in my opinion. I loved the fact that they took the time to make sure my son with allergies was safe.

My family and I had been wanting to go to this location for a while and a recent weeknight presented a perfect opportunity to check out this establishment. Located in a small plaza in front of the Westin hotel, this Chicago Ramen is a nice little spot for grabbing a delicious bowl (or two) of ramen. Upon our arrival, we were seated promptly. Our friendly server provided the menus and shortly after was ready to take our order; however, we were not ready yet and took a bit longer to order. The menu was a condensed version of what I have seen at the Des Plaines location. There were six Ramen options, a handful of appetizers, extra toppings options, and beverage options. Also, there was a Ramen special menu and a Kids menu. A few minutes later, we placed our order of 1) Edamame, 1) Karage, 2) Shrimp Wonton Ramen, and 1) White Miso Ramen. The apps of Edamame and Karage came out soon and the ramen bowls followed shortly. The Karage were freshly cooked. The Karage were chunky, meaty and plump chicken nuggets. The meat was juicy and tender, and they were lightly battered. The flavor was decent and the texture was okay. I felt that a bit more frying would have helped it taste better. My Shrimp Wonton Ramen was the start dish for me. It was everything I wanted as far as the flavor of the broth and the texture of the noodles, shrimp, and wonton were concerned. The broth was hot and fresh. It had a nice savory flavor and I added some of the table side condiments for extra umami and spicy taste. The noodles were of the right texture where they had body and good slurp-a-bility factor without being soggy and sloppy. The White Miso Ramen was a nice creamy and rich broth that came loaded w/ cuts of pork that were tender. It was also delicious. I enjoyed my bowl of ramen a lot and managed to finish it instead of having leftovers. It hit the spot perfectly. We had a good experience and would go back. However, it has been our go-to place for ramen takeout for some time now, this review is focused on their takeout ramen. After about two years' time, we have narrowed our preferences to the Red Miso Ramen with Egg and the White Miso Ramen with Egg. Both ramen comes with a big piece of Cha-Shu (pork), bamboo shoot, and green onion. The Cha-Shu is very tender and flavorful, and the egg cooked just right. The ramen noodles are bouncy with the right texture. When it comes to broth, the White Miso Ramen is definitely a winner over the Red Miso. I found the broth of the Red Miso a little too thick and there is a taste that makes it less pleasant than the other. There is ground pork in the broth of the White Miso, which adds flavor and complexity to the texture. Portions used to be very big, and I used to have leftovers. However, recently portions have shrunk and I could finish the entire bowl of White Miso Ramen with Egg in one meal with no problems. It would not be enough to feed someone with a bigger appetite than me. They had made a couple of mistakes in our takeout orders a year ago. Since then, they have been accurate with the orders and timing has also improved. I am pleased to have Chicago Ramen in our neighbor town, and a bowl of tasty ramen is so close by. I just saw that they have added Shrimp Wonton Ramen (and two other items) to their menu recently. Next time I might give that a try.

We stopped in for a late lunch after working out, and I split their New Yorker with a side of broccoli. The food came out pretty quickly, and the portion size was solid. It's a nice, quick option for an easy lunch, though not something I'd necessarily crave. The sandwich would have been better if it had come out hotter. Our sandwich was warm, but our friend who got it to go had his sandwich coming out steaming. It just made it look much more appetizing. Overall, it's not the best sandwich I've had, but it's still a good deli option. They also offer a "Choose 2" deal, where you can pick any two items from half sandwich, half salad, half soup, or half spud, for $10.99, which I think is a great value. I'd go back to try one of those combinations.
