Cafe Brazil is one of my favorites when in Dallas. Their menu is quite large and covers cafe-style breakfast, tex mex and traditional. I love their nachos, pancrepes and endless coffee bar with beaucoups of coffees to choose from. Their holiday seasonal specials "S'mores Hot Chocolate" and Holiday Blend Coffee are great. Only downsides to Cafe Brazil: The dining room is quite loud, all seating is table style (no booths) and service can be hit or miss but what do you expect. read more

I first tried Cafe Brazil when it was located in Fort Worth in the TCU area. That location was closed years ago. So when we were on this side of town we looked up places to brunch, and I was excited to see there was a Cafe Brazil near by! I wasn't sure if it was the same as the TCU location so I looked up the website and realized it was the same. We came and the food tasted just as I remember it! My Bride went here to n business early this week and brought me this Sunday. She told me to try the crepes as this was her 1st time to ever eat crepes! I was skeptical as had crepes many years back, once homemade & the 2nd time at a French restaurant. Cafe Brazil has definitely put a Texas-Southern twist on your crepes! I ordered the smoked turkey crepes & a snickers latte, wife ordered the chicken & spinach crepes. All I can say is ... YUM‼ We will visit the Richardson location next time as is much closer. This is a nice little restaurant. The location is interesting. Its located on a corner tucked away in a shopping center. If you are facing the restaurant the main door is on the right side. My friend and I both ordered omelets. I chose the Mexican omelet minus the onion and he ordered the veggie omelet and added sausage. We chose to do their coffee bar to try the different selections they had. I went with the pecan bourbon flavor. It was great! Almost a little too sweet but adding milk helped dilute the sweet flavor. Our food came out within 25 minutes of ordering. The restaurant was packed so I was shocked to get it in even that amount of time. It tends to get a bit loud in there especially when there's a bunch of kids. Overall it's a good place to grab a quick bite. The food is good, service is average and atmosphere is average. Perhaps busier than most Cafe Brazil spots I've been to and possibly a little messier, yet service is still on par and food is still savory and delicious! I always order the traditional breakfast (Eggs, Bacon and a sweet plate of your choice at the full order size) with the French Toast. This time the French Toast tasted a bit flavorless and wasn't really fully cooked in the batter but their healthier syrup made me feel better about drowing to get the flavor in. My boyfriend order the Breakfast Burrito and absolutely loved it. Packed with sausage, egg, cheese and potato (how could you not love it?!) It also came with baked beans on the side. I may stick to the Richardson location just to see if anything has changed, but it's nice to know I have a nearby option for my Cafe Brazil fix! read more

Not impressed. 1st time here the waiter forgot to submit our order to the kitchen. At least he admitted it and apologized. This time the waitress brought me tea and then spaced off coming back to take our order. After taken the orders of a table that was next to us and arrived after us, my husband had to hunt her down to take our order. I ordered the breakfast Chili Releno instead I got the Chili Releno creps. I was so hungry from waiting so long I said screw it and ate it any way. Was not impressed with the crep so I scraped out the egg and meet. I had to remind her I asked for an extra side of the jalapeno cream sauce and she was confused about the sauce was on the dish. I love this little quaint place! I came in for the 1st time a couple of weeks ago & as soon as I walked in, Ivan greeted me with such a beautiful compliment. From then on, it only got better. Ivan so happened to be our hostess & was absolutely amazing. He really took care of us. He helped us in deciding menu items & our drinks. He was soo personable & friendly & made us feel like we were his long time friends. My cousin & I ended up splitting the Super Chicken Quesadilla & it was soooo scrumptious. The meat was seasoned perfectly & the Pico de Gallo & sour cream added extra deliciousness. We also split the French Toast & it was pretty good. The syrup was heated when he brought it to the table. After plunging into the food & soaking in all the wonderful flavors, I realized that I forgot to take a pic lol! Tried the el gordo crepe ($8.29) which is a spicy savory crepe filled with ground meat, jalepanoes, cheese, tomatoes, and topped with a spicy sauce. It was supposed to come with chorizo but it looked like ground meat to me. Instead of the rosemary potatoes, I changed the side to fried sweet potatoes (+$1.39). Overall, the food is tasty but the dish was pretty spicy and heavy. We opted to sit outside because we didn't want to wait but this was probably not a good idea because it was pretty hot. They occasionally checked on us but we ended up having to go inside to pay our bill because it took so long for someone to come by. I think they're popular for their coffee but I didn't try it. The coffee smell as soon as you step in the door smells soooooooooooooooo good! Unfortunately, it was a late weekday so I decided not to have coffee. Ordered: 1) roasted turkey tacos --- delish!!! 2 fully loaded flour tortillas stuffed with cheese, eggs, turkey, tomatoes, broccoli...forgot what else. Swapped out the Rosemary potatoes for hashbrown casserole--not too bad. 2) chicken fried steak - tiny portion. half the plate was chicken fried steak, the other half was bread (which was pretty good--can't complain). 3) eggs benedict -- the ugliest looking eggs benedict i've seen. wasn't even cooked like how an eggs benedict should be cooked. looked like a sunny-side egg slapped with sauce. might as well make it at home. 4) chicken fried chicken - my fiance says it's one of the better chicken fried chicken he has had. Their spicy creamy sauce tastes bland. I don't remember it being so bland before. Oh well. I liked how they had a good variety of hot sauce (even habanero sauces too). Service here is always ridiculously slow (took over 15 mins to get our check, then another 15 mins to get it back), forgot an item on our order, charged me for a "substitute" side when we had confirmed with her when ordering that it was a "substitute"---just never happy with the service whenever we go here. read more

We've been trying to support this place for the last 15 years and lately its been difficult. We will probably start going more to the Richardson location. The last few times service has forgotten everything from wheat toast, sweet potatoes, over easy egg, crêpes intead no crêpes. The coffee has also gotten where its Bourbon, regular, or decaf. What happen to all the selection? Snickerdoodle...Just because the coffee bar is closed shouldn't stop the variety that keeps us coming back, ordering food to go, and fresh ground coffee. I do really appreciate your support of law enforcement! They're under appreciated and I know you all are friendly to them in these crazy times. read more

It was the Monday after the storm and our house was without electricity. So we decided to have breakfast out at Cafe Brazil. We have been dining here for the past few years and most always have been pleased. But this visit was different. The service was good and coffee was hot and plentiful though a tad strong. I had the migas which is chorizo, scrambled eggs, and tortilla strips. I didn't mention jalapeños but I will now. There must have been a full cup of them mixed in. I had only eaten a couple and piled the rest to the side. The eggs were way over cooked and not seasoned at all. And a fair amount of grease from the chorizo was at the bottom. I hope that the manager has a look at the kitchen and the one doing the cooking. There's something not right there. UPDATE - On our return visit recently things were back to what we expected. Whatever happened before wasn't repeated so this Cafe Brazil has redeemed itself. read more

The food was cold. We sent one plate back for them to immediately bring it back cold. Which I know was the same food bc a manager never came by to see how the food was after sending the plate back. The server was super nice and friendly, but the experience was disappointing. I ordered the Nutella banana crepes off their featured menu and there was no Nutella. Just bananas and some chocolate syrup. I told the server and asked for some Nutella on the side and she was happy to comply. But brought out more chocolate syrup. It seems like they don't know what Nutella is, but they are putting the name on the menu like they're using it. So weird. And I had to pay a $2 up charge on my meal for the special crepes The rest of my meal was fine, nothing exceptionally good. My husband's was good. read more

We came here for breakfast this morning because we usually come for lunch or dinner. I was undecided between the Brazilian Veggie breakfast and the Spinach crepes. I decided to get the Spinch crepes breakfast. It comes with Spinch tomatoes and feta cheese and a cream sauce on the crepes that is slightly spicy. This breakfast comes with toast that is homemade bread and rosemary potatoes. This was soooo good that I can't wait and go back and try it again. My husband had the original breakfast with scrambled eggs bacon and 2 french toast slices. He ate everything (except 1 slice of french toast). Loved --Best coffee anywhere!! I always drink 2 or 3 cups while I'm there and then take a huge one to go. Liked -- chicken and waffles. The chicken was crispy and Walgreens were lite and fluffy. It matched great with the sweet potato and egg over medium. Perfect mix of sweet and salty! Wished -- wished their outside seating was a little nicer. The sidewalk is kinda small and you are very close to the cars pulling up. However, our waiter was great and brought the pup some water. We will go back again and again! read more

The food here has almost always been above average, at all locations I've tried. This one is right by our home, and we discovered last night that kids eat free between 5 and 10 pm Sun-Thu, so we'll be coming here more often! The location of this restaurant couldn't be much worse as far as shopping center and neighboring retailers, or lack thereof. As of last night, there is a vacant and boarded up space right next door. The parking lot pavement is destroyed. The drive up appeal is appalling. A place lile Cafe Brazil doesnt need much curb appeal...just a semi clean area is all it needs. The cleanliness and presentation of the interior feels like a cafeteria...very dingy and dirty. The customer service has always been above average except for last night. Our waiter wasn't attentitive. Luckily the food, almost always, makes up for any before mentioned weaknesses. read more

My friends and I came for a bite to eat pretty late at night. They were accommodating of groups, service wasn't too bad, and the food came out perfectly. French toast with fresh fruit (4/5) It was pretty good. The bread was good but I thought the French toast lacked something... It was still good but didn't have that 2% excellence factor. I tried to love you again and come back after a few months hiatus, but after my recent experience, I won't be coming back for a very long time. Granted, it was a busy morning on Sunday, I had my name on the list patiently waiting, and as I see others who got there after me get seated, I questioned it. I checked the binder, and sure enough, my name had been scratched out, and 4 groups that came in after us were seated before us. I love me some Cafe Brazil! Bottomless cups of coffee, breakfast all the time and amazing bags of coffee to take home...who wouldn't love this place?! I'm especially fond of this location because it's the closest to me up in the burbs and reminds me of my favorite location off 75. Great service with no rush. It will become busy, but you never feel like they're rushing you out of there, which is wonderful after a night of drinking and just needing to exist in slow motion. :) Come and love this place, too! read more

Usually, I'm impressed...today, not so much. First of all, lots of staff standing around while we waited 5 minutes to be acknowledged. After trying to avoid trash and several crayons on the floor, we got to our table. Once seated, it took a while for out waitress to come over. Order taken and drinks brought out. We both ordered eggs and extra crispy bacon...he added sausage and French Toast. Food came and all looked great! My bacon looked crispy until I picked it up...it was cooked earlier and on the bottom of a lot of bacon...not fresh, old and limp. It was not good. Eggs good as was my husband's French Toast. I wish they would repair/replace the ceiling tiles. It would make it much more appealing when looking around waiting for food. Solid four stars. Eaten here a few times and the service is friendly and food is very good. Kids eat free a few nights a week, that was a pleasant surprise. During the week it's not very busy. On the weekend (especially Sunday) be prepared to wait. The pancakes, omelettes, nachos, burgers, sweet potato fries and the chicken salad sandwich have all been excellent. I even had the honey chipotle fish tacos and they were very flavorful. All the food has been excellent. Bonus they now serve diet Dr Pepper which is my favorite. One complaint is when they are slow on a week night occasionally the service will be delayed. Servers look young and seem to be distracted occasionally. This location is not 24 hours but still keeps pretty late hours. Perfect for a late night bite. You hear they have pretty tasty coffee too. read more

We've been going to cafe Brazil for about 20 years now in the Dallas area. This was our first visit to the Carrollton locations I ordered the same meal I always order, crepes which came without the eggs and without the hash brown casserole I ordered. No big deal except our server never came back to check on us, my children and my husband had all finished their meals and I had nothing to eat. We then were charged $3 for hash down casserole when it should have been $.99. The server then proceeded to tell me it was my fault. Our daughter also never got her parfait she ordered. Gave it a 1 star because the coffee was good. Good portions were also as small as the kids meals which is not normal for cafe Brazil or at least the other 3 locations we've been to over the years. Let me preface this with: The food has never steered me wrong! The food here is pretty basic, but at the same time it's the simple things that are the best. When I say basic they don't use tons of spices, they take the flavors the food has and somehow elevates the flavor. My favorite part of this place is that I can get my coffee while I'm waiting for my table. I promise I'd leave if that wasn't the case. Simply because at 10:30 in the morning it's already been a long day without a cup of joe. Lol who says Joe still. I did. With lots of flavor options and great house blend I give the coffee 5 stars. My only deduction of a star stems from cleanliness. This is a whole in the wall restaurant, nothing special inside to make you have an atmosphere. My kids were wanting breakfast food in the afternoon. We are new to Carrollton so I did a search for restaurants that serve breakfast all day and Cafe Brazil popped up. The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived so we got seated immediately. My kids ordered pancakes, my wife ordered the breakfast relleno crepes and I had the BBQ bacon cheddar burger. Everyone took advantage of the bottomless coffee bar. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The food was excellent. I was particularly impressed with the burger. Came here by a suggestion from a friend. Walked in and waited to be seated. The menu had so many choices to choose from it took me awhile to place my order as I wanted to try everything. After contemplating on what to eat I ended up getting the chicken crepe which came with seasoned potatoes and bread. It was actually really good and even better with the Spanish salsa.
