This place was so cute! We stumbled upon it on yelp and decided to visit. Upon arrival, they checked vaccine cards ad then you could go in. it was completely empty so somewhat strange ( it was a rainy day around 5 PM) but we got to pick a seat by the window(super cozy) and ordered some desserts and tea. Everything was good except two of the macaroons might have been old or too cold from the fridge because they were pretty chewy compared to the other ones. The place filled up fairly quickly after and it seems like a sweet local spot. There were people of all ages that came and went and there was a cozy vibe to it all. The bread was so fresh and the sandwich delicious. In the end, we walked up to the register to pay and the people at the register were so sweet and thankful. Perfect location for a bridal shower. Brian from the Cafe was very easy to work with and accommodate all our needs before and day of the bridal shower. Party Type: Bridal Shower Amount of Guest: 10 Food from Venue: 4 ham/cheese, 2 veggies, 2x Salads, macaroons and cake. Our guest enjoyed the food and desserts. Each guest is required to order a drink. This wasn't a problem since the theme is tea party. We were allowed to bring additional desserts and drinks which is a huge bonus because we were able to save some money. The most charming, quaint little coffee shop I've found in LA! Located in the heart of Koreatown, this little gem of a coffee/teahouse is just adorable! Parking is definitely a challenge- they have a teeny tiny parking lot... My friend (who drove) has a Mini Cooper & we pulled in just as someone was pulling out, but I don't know where we would have parked if that person hadn't left... But anywho, the berry blossom cake is a must! It was scrumptious! Delicate, light, & not overly sweet... The teas we tried were all divine, & the ambiance was lovely! It's in a converted craftsman-style home... Decor is eclectic~ I kept admiring the cello sitting in the corner next to me?! We weren't lucky enough to catch the live music on our visit, but it was still a wonderful experience! The owner was SO friendly and service was great! It IS pricey, so be prepared for that if you decide to check this place out. I have consistently been coming here to buy bread and I have tried all the 3 wonderful flavors of bread they have and you really can't go wrong since they are all the same base. I finally had the chance to sit down inside and enjoy a pot of tea and slice of cake though and I love the ambiance and decoration! The cafe is beautiful, just like those in Kdrama. I ordered a whole cake; the cream is top-tier, so fresh and delicious. However, the sponge part of the cake didn't meet my expectations. I believe the sugar wasn't evenly melted, as some parts of the sponge cake are sweeter than others. What a hidden gem tucked away in K-town! Happened to come across this place to kill time before an appointment and boy am I glad I did. They play very elegant classical music for guests to enjoy while sipping on their specialty drinks. The interior is truly romantic with different types of instrumentals carefully placed for aesthetic appeal. I ordered the ham & Brie cheese sandwich and the dough is absolutely delightful! I decided to pair it with hot ginseng tea and it has the perfect balance of flavors and subtle bitterness. My husband and I came by after lunch for some dessert. First of all, interior is really cute in a nostalgic way. We ordered americano, ice latte, and strawberry short cake. The cake was one of the best I had in some time. It was really dense, moist and light tasting without being too sweet. We also sampled their ciabatta bread which the owner suggested. So glad he did because the bread was so good. He said their 48 hour fermentation process makes them extra healthy. Lastly, the owner seem really genuine and loves his craft. I could barely load my email, but probably because I didn't buy my stay. I ordered a macaron for $2.50 and immediately felt overcome with guilt for not ordering a $7 tea. But I just wanted something quick, not something to sip on while discussing the classes my grandchildren are taking in high school. This place is RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED. Look, I live in LA and can pay $7 for a homemade macadamia nutmilk latte with the best of them, but that is not what's happening here. At Cafe Giverny, you are given mediocre service and getting charged ridiculous prices for cheap tea. I had the earl grey lavender for $5.95. They use the Revolution tea brand - you can get a 16 pack box for $3.99 online... truth. My friends had frappes for around the same price and another had the jasmine tea for $9.99!!! We also shared a slice of berry cake (which was yummy and was the only item not ridiculously overpriced at the only slightly overpriced $6.95). I was expecting a latte or something made with a modicum of effort, and my tea was literally a store bought tea bag in a pot of water. The jasmine tea was loose tea steeped in water. I felt pretty foolish realizing I just spent $5 on a tiny pot of hot water. In an attempt to make the tea a little fancier, I asked for some milk for it and some honey. The waiter tells me milk for the $5.95 tea is an additional $.50!!! Then he leaves and comes back and says it's actually $1. $1 FOR MILK FOR TEA. Since I was with company and didn't want to embarrass anyone and already was $6 deep, I just agreed. I wish I had asked over the manager to inquire about this insanity. Also we asked for napkins, water, milk and our waiter forgot every time so you are definitely not paying extra for amazing service. So overall, cute ambiance but there are sooooo many better places to go where you can get better drinks, better service and at half the price. Three stars is me being generous and also cuz I'm a sucker for good cake and because our server, however forgetful, was a very nice young man! Goodbye, Cafe Giverny. Ran into this place by accident when some friends invited me here. It's a very cute place. Perfect to take someone out on a date or have a coffee break. Such a pretty cafe and its only been around for 2 weeks in Koreatown. Cafe Giverny is located on Oxford and 3rd Street almost right next to Yellow House Cafe. I street parked to go to Yellow House Cafe a couple days ago and saw this cafe opened so I decided to come next time and I came back the next day. The interior is very pretty and cute with the Piano by the entrance with many tables inside. I sat on the right side of the cafe but theres more private areas to your left. This place seems its family operated and the couple(owners) were super polite and nice. Until end of the year. they are giving out free macaron with any coffee or tea purchase. To make things even better, the macarons they are giving out is Duverger Macarons and they were pretty moist and soft. I was offered green tea and earl grey macarons with our Tropical Green Tea and Earl Grey Jasmine Tea. Tea had very good scent and I managed to take the tea bag out after a couple minutes so it was not too strong and it perfectly complemented with macarons. Really nice and european-theme furnitures with not too little or too much decoration, makes this cafe look really cozy and warming. I know they offer valet parking maybe until 10 PM but I went after 10 so there was no valet. Free parking behind the building. However, the entrance is very very narrow so if you have a big car, I recommend you dont go in because it is also hard to come out. Other than that, its a great cafe to visit. What an awesome experience?! The name sold me as I was flipping through all the coffee shops in KTown. I have an affinity towards French culture so when I encountered this place and I saw the pictures, I was immediately sold. I walked inside the place and it definitely felt homey. It wasn't the typical Coffee Bean or Starbucks experience so I liked that for a first time. The drink prices reflected the whole experience so if you're looking for a quick grab and go, then this place might be outside your budget. The staff and owners there were nice; they told me to move my car to park at their small parking lot. This is literally a house converted into a business and the restaurant is sectioned off into many different open rooms with tables spread all around. It gives more of a classy and cozy feel over trendiness like most coffee shops these days. We came here after dinner looking for dessert and ordered the Barley patbingsoo with red bean and it was the perfect light dessert after a big meal.
