It's time to finally write a review on Burbank CAVA. Honestly, it's pretty solid :) - if you're craving Mediterranean food on the go, this CAVA in Burbank does a great job of satisfying that craving. The food here is packed with flavor. The recipes that CAVA has preset are darn tasty! I have no complaints in that department at all. Like I said, if you want Mediterranean without a fuss, try CAVA in Burbank :) The service here is good! The folks who work here seem to work hard, fast, and do their best to get everything right. So give them some smiles back; CAVA restaurants operate at a high turn around rate with so many details in their ingredients. Keep it up guys! Horrible customer service from Josh. I came in and he was so rude to me and made me feel dumb! Literally didn't smile or greet me you could tell he didn't want to be there. He didn't offer me a pita bread I had to ask for it too. I kid you not you could literally see him not wanting to work which I get I have worked in food service too but it doesn't mean you should be disrespectful to the customer. I love cava. The service is usually pretty fast and the quality never suffers. I usually get a salad bowl with falafel, red pepper hummus, harissa and tzatziki, all the veggies, pita crisps and tahini. The falafel is always warm and crispy. The flavors continue to complement the ingredients in my bowl. It lasts two meals and hits both times. Affordable and delicious. Highly recommend if you haven't tried it! read more

The line is long and slow, thanks to a roomful of newbie Robbie Bs like me. Mediterranean fast food, wrapped in pita or bowl, with a zillion things to put in either. The most popular bowl base seems to be 'greens and grains,' but I went full-on greens and the salad was super fresh. For protein, the grilled chicken cannot be beat -- flavor is amazing. Add hummus, tzatziki (greek yogurt, cucumber), ten other things and dressing for a pretty big salad in a bowl with lid for shaking and mixing. I usually go with water, but so many Yelpers raved about the Strawberry Citrus/Blueberry Lavender lemonades, I had to try both (unlimited drinks for dining in). A hit! The must-order side: warmed and fluffy pita chips. Feeling bold? Finish with a pint-sized dessert brownie or blondie. The blondie is a 10. Out of 10. Very full salad bowl, drink, blondie + about $20 or so. No tip line and no tip jar. To go bags everywhere but I say, dine in. Lots of indoor and relaxing outdoor seating. A casual, Mediterranean food chain where it's atmosphere reminded you of a Subway or Chipotle. Instead of sandwiches and burritos, you can get a pre-determined bowl/pita plate or can customize your own. IF you need to get your daily intake of vegetables, go to this place. I usually go at dinner time and there's always a steady influx of customers. This would be good if you want to try eating healthy at a convenient location. Note: It's located in a plaza (there is plenty of parking) Food: If you get a pre-curated bowl, they have small laminated plates for workers (try to be more efficient). I've had a few of their pre-set bowls. I would get their new Steak and Harissa bowl (if you can handle some spice). The spice might be due to the Harissa Vinaigrette (usually made with dry red chiles) and red pepper hummus. However, there seems to be a good ratio between the meat and mixture of other ingredients. If you want a more basic, milder choice I would go with the Chicken and Rice Bowl. It's cheaper and the ingredients balance each other well. I would not get the Harissa Avocado. This bowl doesn't include the avocado well and the vegetables included make it seem there's little meat. Try the limited Garlic Pita Chips if you have extra room to finish (the seasoning is more overpowering and can take away from the main dish). Overall, it's a pleasant experience every time I go. This location is awesome! Plenty of parking available in the plaza, and plenty of seating indoors and outdoors available! This place is essentially a Mediterranean Chipotle...where they have build your own bowl/pita and pre-made bowls as well. The food and service here are 5 stars - I'm only docking a star because it is so gd expensive. At the end of the day it's still fast food(ish) but my build your own bowl of lamb meatballs + falafel costed me $20. The ingredients are fresh, the sauces are delicious, and the bowls are very filling. Everything feels healthy and light, and the portions are generous. Based on last Sunday around 6:00pm Portions for the kids tray at $8 were great. It was fulfilling enough for an adult. Spoons are a cute I like the different assortment of drinks from cucumber, lavender, old fashioned lemonade etc Cons it's like cafeteria style so it would have been more appealing if the food was kept cleaner and not mixed in other containers and the boarders wiped. I had to wait for pita chips like two people processed their order at the cash register passed by. It was not appealing to have my food just sit out waiting. The food here was pretty tasty, but I don't feel like I'd return. At least not often. We got a bowl and a pita, and portions are ample. Wanted a bowl with some rice, lentils and greens, but was told no greens if I got the other two. Weird. Opted for just lentils and greens. I wouldn't get lentils again as they were too hard. Almost like they were not cooked in any way. Another issue was the 'toppings' which they certainly offer a lot of options, but the area was a mess, and many items ended up in the wrong trays. Subsequently. I don't eat olives, but they ended up in my bowl because some had gotten into another tray that the guy scooped from. Something for people that may have allergies to consider. Also, it was odd they were out of pickled red onions. Service was friendly, even though it was one guy working the line, he got us through pretty quickly. They were good about getting to orders for people in the store, but I am not sure how it translates for on-line orders. EXCEPT that EVERY time I have ordered from there they have messed up my order somehow. Last night,, they forgot my pita chips and hummus. Last time, they forgot the dressings for my wife's salad. Time before that they forgot to put the steak in my son's pita. And so it goes. I finally decided to offer the manager some feedback and she basically asked me to prove it. Also, the place is impossible to get to. So, bottom line: Great food, leave yourself a minimum of 30 minutes to find parking, triple check your order BEFORE you leave, and if they DO forget something (which they WILL)... Heard raving reviews about Cava so had to give it a try! It's basically Greek Chipotle lol. I got the steak bowl with saffron basmati rice & splendidgreens. I got pretty much all the toppings. Went with the feta + hummus dip & yogurt dill dressing. It was pretty good! A flavor bomb for sure. I love the many veggie options because lord knows I need it. Justifies why it's a bit on the pricier end for a fast food chain. Overall I'd return but not regularly. Arrived Friday evening around 7:30 pm. Not busy at all and plenty of seating outside. It was our first time there so it was a bit overwhelming trying to understand how the menu works. Think Chipotle setup with Mediterranean food. The first food preparer was ok in his explanation of how the ordering works. However, we decided to go with one of the curated bowls for ease. We got the crispy falafel bowl (with black lentils, kale, hummus and garlic sauce) and the chicken bowl (with rice, arugula and a spicy Italian kind of dressing). The last server was difficult to understand because of his low voice and semi-interested demeanor to serving up the food. Portions definitely were enough! Enough to take home. We opted to eat on the patio. Plenty of seating. There is seating inside but we preferred the quiet outside. Even though inside was nice with the 80s music playing (not sure what the trend is with more and more places playing 80s music but that's ok!). Soft drinks were a welcome difference. All the sodas were fair trade and organic (not sure how that works). We tried the diet Mexican soda (pass) and then the blueberry soda (mos def!). We also tried the blueberry lavender juice. Refreshing and not too tart. Overall, it's a nice setup and definitely will go again. It's a great location to serve up Mediterranean food and hope it lasts. read more

Now I don't have to go all the way to USC Village to get me some Cava, woohoo! -Food was fresh, clean, and delicious. All toppings, proteins, bases, and sauces were ready to go! The stations were also kept clean! -Service was speedy and responsive. We had some requests to put the sauces on the side and it was not a problem. We decided to stop in and give CAVA a try. This location was recently opened here in Burbank at the Empire Center. It's in a convenient location but it can get busy at times due to all the people shopping in the area. We found a parking spot very close and walked right in with only one person in front of us. It was great timing! To be honest... the staff seemed a little confused at times, which I can understand due to the business just opening, but it was very clear. It almost appeared to be "stage fright" in a way. Hopefully, with a little extra training and time, things will smooth things out a bit. Just to clarify, ALL of the staff had a smile on their face and were pleasant... just weren't too sure of their next move. The food was solid. It definitely has a Mediterranean food feel but with a twist.. almost like a fusion of some type. We got a salad bowl with extra protein (steak) and a steak pita wrap with a strawberry lemonade. Everything was tasty and fresh and had a ton of flavor. The restaurant was modern and very clean, and that says a lot. The ice machine was out of ice, but upon letting the staff know this, they addressed it and filled the machine immediately. Once again.. maybe that just comes down to a little more training and time. The food was delicious. I really enjoyed my bowl. But I was totally cheated by being charged for "extra" roasted vegetables when I was allowed to do half and half. It was my first time and I wasn't even asked if I wanted half and half. But my husband was!!! She mentioned when I asked for the veggies that there was an extra charge for the roasted veggies. I thought it would be maybe $1 or $1.50. And I thought there was something so special about the veggies that caused the extra charge. Nope. It was $3.65 charge on my bowl and $0 extra charge on my husband's for the same items!!!! Ughhhh. The ambiance was OK. They need to keep the patio cleaner, as the nearby placed do. The WORST customer service at this location. We ordered to pick up; upon arrival we went to the "designated pick up" area. The customer behind us went to find a worker who could assist us all because the line was getting longer and there was no acknowledgment by workers. A worker named Milo came to "help." The customer behind us mentioned numerous times that we were there before. I'm not bothered by the fact that the lady behind us got it first at all, it's solely Milo's inability to conduct herself with proper customer service when working in a high foot traffic environment. She was visibly flustered. She turned to my sister and scolded her as if she was talking to a child stating "we're really busy". Mind you my sister wasn't the one who went to get her, it was the lady behind us, but Milo was very flustered and decided to give us an attitude. Andres the "manager" also handled the situation poorly. He claimed to be a guest services manager but was incredibly flustered on the phone to the point that he went MUTE for 20 seconds and then responded "no I am not ignoring you, im just trying to compose myself because there is a lot going on right now." Sorry, if you cannot handle a busy work environment then you most definitely should not be a manger. Not to mention they forgot items in my order. -_- Needless to say I won't be returning back.
