Ok where do I start? First off we order the cheese fries and chips and queso for our appetizer. We didn't get the salsa that comes with the chips and didn't receive the ranch that comes when th the fries. We had to ask another server to bring those items as our server seemed too occupied elsewhere to help us. Then our main dishes come out and we're missing items that are supposed to come with them. We had to have a manager come over who was less than helpful too, then our server decided to ignore us the rest of the dinner especially after my fiancé got her lemon pepper white fish that tasted like some dumped the whole bottle of salt on it. We asked them to take the fish off and they still treated us crappy for the rest of the dinner cuz no one could prepare the meals properly and or do their job right. So, the day finally came when I was served half a plate. Highly disappointed. Soft drinks are $2.50, which I find ridiculous to pay 1/3 of hourly minimum wage to drink a soda. Service was slow. The place is not so bad and the food was ok. I just felt they were stingy with the food and I've never in the past at a restaurant had to pay for the fries when ordering a burger. This evening we picked up an order to go. We were told to pick up our food at the pick-up area. After waiting and no-one showing up we finally saw someone and they sent us to the bar. After standing at the bar (which was sticky and covered with dirty glasses) no-one showed. Went to the hostess stand and asked for help, they said pick up at the bar and paged for someone. Then the bartender comes from the back (with a rude stink-eye look on her face). She brings the order over the pot pie had spilled in the bag, she saw that. She went to get the extra honey mustard she forgot and wasn't going to change the bags out that the pot pie spilled in until asked. We have eatin at other Cheddars locations with out issues. After this I don't believe we will be returning to this on which is sad because we live 10 minutes from this location. read more

At this time, this Cheddar's only has 3/5 stars. Not sure why, because our experience was great! We did eat at a table and not at the bar like most of the negative reviewers. Maybe the bar has a problem? Anyway... Our waiter, Tanner, did a great job: greeted us promptly, checked on us regularly, kept our refills coming, brought food when it was hot, etc. He was friendly & professional. Our food was delicious & plentiful. My wife had the fried shrimp & I had the chicken tenders. We had three different sides: green beans, broccoli & cheese, and a loaded baked potato; all flavorful. One thing I couldn't help but notice that's worth mentioning: the bus boy on shift while we were there today around noon. He cleaned thoroughly & carefully. Gave me confidence that we were in a clean environment. Hard to find folks that care as much about their work these days. The only thing I can imagine someone might complain about was the longer wait on getting the food. But, if I'm ordering from a "scratch kitchen", where everything is made fresh like our food was, then 1) I expect to wait a little longer, and 2) it is well worth the extra 5 minutes or so. I'm such a fan of Cheddars! To the extent that it was a tradition to drive to Ikea an eat at the location in Round Rock, TX. I was super stoked to hear of several locations popping up in the Alamo city. This is the Classic American style restaurant that never disappoints. We always receive a fair wait time (the place is packed on the weekends). Friendly staff, big portions, low prices, delish food. This past Saturday it didn't disappoint. If there is an item on the menu that you MUST try its the Butter Croissants!!! If you were to die after eating one, you have spent your time on Earth wisely. We ordered 3 Croissants(Ordering more for two people would just be wrong and my hips wouldn't like it) and an order of Onion Rings. Onion Rings came out first with delish batter, hot and crispy. Our waitress informed us the Croissants would be a minute. My salad came out and no Croissants. Our entrees came out and afterwards our delish Croissants (they gave us an extra for waiting- good call!) I had their fall-off the bone Ribs and Steak w/Loaded Potato+Broccoli and Cheese. The honey ordered Steak + Made to order Chicken Fingers. We looked at all our food and realized we had ordered with our stomach, so much for just two people. This place does it right. Clean every time, great service. Happy people. Sometimes a little too dark in the bar area in the evenings but I live. One of my favorite places. The prices here do not equal the ENORMOUS AMOUNT of food you receive. Usually more than some can eat. But I never leave hungry. Great drinks as well. Although some times the bartenders are not as attentive as I would like to see. Bartender myself.. Great place to go for lunch, or dinner, groups or alone. Yikes. I love Cheddar's, but was sorely disappointed with this location. Service was SLOW for not just our table, but the entire section we were seated in (definitely friendly though,which is why it's not 1 star!), our spinach dip was subpar (not very warm and it was really just like eating clumps of lukewarm spinach. Which normally this dish is super creamy :(!!) to say the least and both of our meals were... underwhelming (one piece of sausage in the entire Cajun Pasta dish and maybe two whole chicken strips in my salad. Went here for the first time a few weeks ago and I was expecting much more than I got based on how my friends talk about it. The place was packed when we got there with an hour wait for a table, granted it was a Saturday night. We decided to just get one of the round tables by the bar. It took the waitress about 15 minutes to acknowledge that we were even there but once she finally came over, you was pretty nice and tried to hurry with all of our orders. The food was pretty good and I was definitely impressed with the prices. Plus their margaritas are about $5 and they are great! This is the second I've tried this place! However this time I took my fiancé here for dinner tonight. The atmosphere is very nice. Dim lighting, semi private booths & sounded like today's top music playing. We were hoping to watch a spurs game here but the only TV's were in the bar area. Saturday night, place is packed but we only waited about 10 mins max. for our table (booth). We are vegetarians so we got the vegetable plate: salad or soup, 4 sides & a croissant! Beware: soups have meat in it so we stuck with salad! Got the house & Ceaser which had the perfect amount of salad to dressing ratio. Very fresh & delicious. Then right after our sides come out, perfect timing. Now you maybe thinking that sides won't fill you up, but you are wrong! We were so full & satisfied with all the food we got. I advise on trying the broccoli & cheese casserole. You won't be disappointed :) We will be coming back soon! Not to mention the price for our meal was only $6/person (not including drinks)!! This particular Cheddar's sits right beside West I-10 going towards Hill Country. This was my first time going to any Cheddar's restaurant. I ordered the fried catfish, salad and fries. I got a heaping, helping of delicious tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. I ordered a fruit tea-strawberry/raspberry and a glass of ice water with lime. The fruit tea was delicious and sweet. The fried catfish was a good choice. Cheddar's serves large portions. Their catfish came out piping hot. It was well-seasoned and crispy. Their salad is large, fresh, and full of croutons, cheese and a delicious, thousand island dressing. Their french fries taste pretty good too. Spending my coins on Cheddar's was well worth the money. If I'm ever in San Antonio again, I want to make time to dine at Cheddar's. read more

We came to Cheddars just for drinks and desserts and I had a good experience. It wasn't anything "amazing," our waiter was really awkward and he seemed like he was rushing us out. I like this place because it has a good variety on the menu and their drinks have very reasonable and affordable prices. I really like that part! My brother got an original piña colada and I got some kind of strawberry type of piña colada. Both drinks were about $5 each, but the drinks came in huge glasses! Very worth it! We got the spinach dip appetizer and it was ok, I've definitely had better. For dessert we got their bread pudding and the monster cookie. Both were really good, but it's also something you could get at a Chili's or Applebee's. The service was just not the best, I don't like when servers rush us out, and that's the biggest thing I didn't like. I gave it four stars because I think the prices are really, really affordable for the amount of food/ drink you're getting. I also really enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant, it's a nice place and good for conversation. read more

So I have a mix of stars. For food I give them a 3. I ordered the buffalo chicken wraps (which are my fave) but be chicken was cold. My fries were extra hot so why couldn't my chicken be the same??? I also had to get them to remake my margarita because the first time all it was just ice and flavoring and no alcohol at all. Even the color of the margarita was weird, seemed more like a watered down lemonade. The second time around was better. As for the server, he kept taking his time to get everything coming to our table. We ordered waters to begin while out drinks got made, drinks made it to the table first then water came AFTER we ordered our appetizer and that got here first too. Also, he gave free drinks to the table next to us just because. He even sat down with the client at the table and had a conversation with him as we were waiting for our drinks/ food and it was a pretty lengthy conversations. He only had 4 tables total to serve and on a Monday night it's really not busy. Two other tables that either got their the same time or a bit after us got their food and drinks before we did. We had a simple order so it's not like we have him an over dramatic request. After I had my dinner, I went to wash my hands and I caught our server taking and joking with the bar tenders and had our check in his hands, which we were waiting for for he past 10+mins. Of course when he brought it to the table he came and took our payment ASAP. He was nice over all but service was way slow. Cheddars employees really need to stay on top of the customers so they can't go around complaining they don't get good tips especially when they can't help us when we need them. read more

He promptly brought out our water and gave us plenty of time to review the drink menu. Both our drinks and the food came out surprisingly fast and absolutely delicious. I ordered the dijon chicken and mushrooms with mashed potatoes and Texas green beans.. Yum! Joseph was attentive but not overbearing and gave us time to hang out and talk after we were done eating. I was impressed at the way he waited until we asked for our check instead of chucking it at us as soon as the last bite is swallowed, the way most servers usually do. Just DON'T. I wish I had read the reviews before I went in. I'm having one of those low blood sugar days that force me to eat NOW. Cheddar's was convenient, so here I am. I came in around 4:45 and was told it would be about 5 minutes. Not a good sign. 5 minutes later, they seated the couple ahead of me. I was seated shortly thereafter in the bar. When asked if the bar was OK, I stated that it's not my preference. She said "great, follow me". So here I am. Hungry. Cold under the AC. Waiting. It's been 20 minutes since the bartender brought a menu and asked if I knew what I wanted as he handed it to me. We were seated in the bar area with my mom and grandson. unfortunately it was too cold so we had asked to be moved to another area . The bartender went to get the host to let her know. She never came so she went back to get her again and she finally came, but that look on her face was like If it was an issue for her to do her job . I felt like it was an inconvenience to ask her to move us so of course I did inform her that we were sorry for the inconvenience. Now the waitress that we have is totally different. Big smile and very courteous. I wish I knew her name but didn't get it. What got me was I felt so unwelcome here and probably am just going to wait for the one near North Star to open. The food was not particularly amazing for the hour + wait. The service was great and I loved how the waitress was attentive to our large group of 10! One thing that I thought would of help is starters like salad or garlic bread. Conclusion; if you want to play it safe go to this place. I always love coming to Cheddars. It's a great family resteraunt with a friendly atmosphere for all age groups. The food is always tasty and I've never had a bad experience here. The only downside is that a wait time is expected on the weekends. So if you are in a rush, this is not the place for you on the weekends. Overall great food and ambience. read more

Been going to this restaurant on and off for years. Never had a problem. Went this past weekend for a last minuet dinner with the family. Every time we go we always the Monte Cristo and chicken fried steak. Both were excellent again. Some one in our party had the Philly Cheese Steak, and they said it was delicious. Are waitress (Vanessa), was fantastic. She was on top of everything. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to scratch made food for an outstanding price.
