However, considering that some people have accidents letting food fall under the table and that I assume it is cleaned daily; our payment machine needed wiping not just the screen; the entire thing. I got there a little before my date so I just waited for him but there was no wait and we were seated immediately. The waitress never mentioned her name but she seemed a bit clueless. I just got water as she really didn't give us time to look at the menu. I ordered the blackened salmon and grilled shrimp with a loaded baked potato and mac n cheese. The food was at our table in about fifteen minutes. There was nothing blackened about my salmon but it was delicious non the less. There was a mango salsa and a bed of rice underneath. The baked potato wasn't loaded, all it came with was partially melted cheese and butter and I had to ask for bacon bits. Cheddar's is a well known restaurant chain from my home town so the menu was familiar to me. The bourbon glazed salmon was as flaky as I expected and added a nice flavor to the bed of rice. My son and I came in for dinner around 6pm. We were greeted immediately and were politely offered the option to be seated right away in the bar area at one of their high tables. One of the greeters led us to to a small, clean table near the bar and gave us paper menus. I noticed that seating was arranged so everyone was socially-distanced according to policy and all staff had their masks on. Our waiter, Caleb R., arrived at our table within 5 minutes and asked us what we would like to drink. I liked his timing because it gave us the opportunity to look over the menu without feeling rushed. I ordered Cheddar's signature Painkiller cocktail with a glass of water on the side and my son ordered water, too. The waiter asked if we would like lemon with our water, but we declined. He also asked us if we were ready to order. We were definitely ready and very hungry! I ordered their Coconut Shrimp appetizer along with--main entree Monte Cristo with fries. I originally was going to replace the fries with another side item and Caleb was very helpful in offering alternatives, but I decided to stick with crispy fries w/a side of ketchup. My son ordered Sirloin steak (medium-well) w/ chicken tenders. He had a choice of two side items, so he got fries and a broccoli casserole. The drinks came quickly, the glasses of water cold with straws provided. My cocktail was a delight to look at! The rim of the glass was sweet and sticky with coconut attached all around it with a good sized pineapple garnishment to boot! There was a maraschino cherry floating around in there adding to the fruity, tropical vibe. The drink itself was satisfyingly strong, and very refreshing. As we were enjoying our beverages, the waiter brought by two complimentary orders of a warm light pastry drizzled with a butter sauce! My son gobbled it up in two bites! I chose to tease my tastebuds by eating it slowly and enjoying every carby bit! The appetizer arrived a few minutes later. There were five, good-sized pieces of butterflied shrimp covered in crunchy, fried coconut! The shrimp under the coconut had a delightful texture and the dipping sauce provided was sweet and yummy! When our entrees arrived, I took a minute to just get a good visual of my food. The Monte cristo looked pastry-like. The meat and cheese were packed close inside a crunchy, oval outside covering. I could feel the warmth of the meal as everything was freshly cooked and hadn't been sitting long. The fries were golden and crunchy-looking. I dipped one end of a monte cristo sandwich into the sweet preserves provided and bit into a crunchy sweet and savory delight! Perfectly balanced and very filling! I was able to eat only one of the four sandwiches, it was so filling, and saved the rest for later. I gave my son one to try and he really liked it too! The fries were perfect. Not greasy, crunchy,and paired perfectly with traditional ketchup. My son described his sirloin steak as perfectly medium-well, savory, and very juicy! The three, large crunchy pieces of chicken tenders that came with his meal had two side sauces--honey mustard and barbecue sauce. He shared half of one of the tenders with me and I tried both sauces. I can't even tell you which sauce complimented the tenders best! They were both delicious, in their own right, in their own very different flavors! You just gotta try it! My son said the broccoli casserole was nice and cheesy...very good...like a home-cooked dish. When we were done, almost on cue, Caleb the waiter appeared and asked if I would like a box to take home the rest of my meal. He also showed me where to pay for my meal...there was a small electronic kiosk with a screen on the table where I could pay at my convenience and leisure. Lastly, he asked if we would like complimentary waters to take home with us. When you come to Cheddar's on Broadway, ask for Caleb in the bar seating area. My sweetheart picked me up from work 2 nights ago & wanted to treat me to a really good dinner after a long & tiring 12-hr shift & I'd like to say that this place did everything to improve its service: from food to servers.. Excellent!! There was NEVER a bad experience here(except for the long wait sometimes bec people are actually flocking to eat here). Jose, our young server that night was attentive & amazingly great from serving the food to making sure everything is well taken cared of. The way how he even served the food to our table felt like that medium-well sirloin steak I ordered costs about $100! He was very refined, like one of those servers you expect to move if you're paying for a JW Marriott prime rib! My BF's chicken pasta was like for 3 people to eat! LOL ...the chicken tenders, they're really tender & juicy, the pasta sauce tasted good, like it actually simmered unhurriedly. Of course, we will always come back! The food here is great & impeccably presented at an affordable price ranges(hint:even a high school kid can afford to take his sweetheart here but doesn't have to slave away doing a lot of afterschool hour work to impress her). I came here tonight with somewhat high expectations. I've heard and read plenty of omg this place is delicious and the menu is cheap reviews. It was not delicious. In fact, the fried Chicken which has a star next to it on their menu because it's supposed to be one of the best items was mediocre. It tasted like a frozen piece of chicken that was overdone and ended up being extremely tough. Yes the portion sizes were huge and yes the mash potatoes were not completely horrible, but overall I was not impressed. I think Texas Roadhouse blows this place out the water. I also tasted my friend's steak which was over the top salty and shared a cookie topped with ice cream. The cookie was extremely small and then they put it on a huge plate which made it look even more small. Disappointed. Stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner around 4:00 this afternoon and ordered the New Orleans Pasta. While the flavors were good, the pasta was way overcooked and just short of mushy, which is pretty off-putting. Nonetheless, because it was the first thing I'd eaten all day, I had eaten quite a bit of it by the time the waitress checked back with me. I mentioned the pasta issue to her and she asked if there was anything she could do. I'm never sure how to answer that question, honestly. I didn't want to re-order, since I'd had enough to satisfy my appetite, and I don't enjoy desserts. Perhaps they could have comped my drink or something, but I'd prefer that offer be made rather than demanding it. I will probably go back to try something else as everyone else seems to be reviewing it highly and I suspect my limp pasta was just an "oops" moment in the kitchen. First impressions: The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Lots of dark wood making it, duh, dark. Reminded me a bit of Red Lobster's decor. We were seated on the aisle oustide the inner square and it was VERY busy with servers constantly walking past us with food, drinks, etc. It felt busy. My Cheddar Club with coleslaw was OK. The turkey was the usual thin-sliced version found in a deli. It was generous but nothing special taste-wise. For vegetarians, they offer side dishes to round out your meal. My wife and I received a gift card for Christmas, and decided to try Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, Broadway, Tucson, Arizona. We were greeted at the door and the hostess took us to our table, within a minute our server Ivan welcomed us and take our drink order, and said he would be back to take our order. When he returned with our drinks, than he explained the menu to us. My wife ordered a salad, and mac and cheese I order the potato cheddar soup and a half monte cristo sandwich, with raspberry preserve.The food was excellent, and same with our service. We had a party of 11, we were told that they only had one table that seated a party of 11 and that the wait would be around 2 hours. We were offered a shorter wait time if we took 3 separate booth. If we decided to have dinner together, what is the purpose of eating separately ?! I'm sure we're not the only party that has 11 or more people. It would be nice if reservations accommodations were considered. Perhaps, if the party doesn't show within 5 mins of reservation time give the seats up. Simple..... As an appetizer we ordered queso and cheese. My daughter found hair in the chips. Waiter comes back and says she'll have it taken off our check. Of course when we received our check, it wasnt taken off and we had to remind her. I've had the fried shrimp numerous times prior to this visit. This time it was layers of batter, which was disgusting. Couldn't tell the difference from a chicken tender vs shrimp. I don't know if the cooks changed or what happened, but VERY disappointed. I have heard a lot about Cheddar's and I was eager to try it. They advertise that everything is made from scratch and i believe them. The food looks amazing. I Had the steak and ribs combo with red beans and rice and fries. So the steak was cooked perfectly my only problem with the steak was that is was under seasoned, I had to add salt. May just be my preference. The steak came onto of these string like onions and when you ate them together it was awesome. The Ribs we good, but I didn't care for the sauce which kind of ruined them for me. It just is not a sauce that I would ever use again. The Fries Lacked salt. The Red Beans and Rice were awesome. They had really good flavor and cut up sausage in the. My favorite thing I got though was the Strawberry Lemonade. It had fresh strawberries in it. Amazing. So my issue with Cheddar's was seasoning. This is probably our 3rd or 4th time to Cheddar's. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived. I believe we were quoted 20 minutes and the wait was about 15 minutes. We had the chips and queso with the ground meat, which they don't charge extra for! This is our favorite appetizer that we have tried. The lighter side blackened fish was really good and just the right amount. The Dijon chicken is very tender and flavorful. It's is also huge and was enough for two meals. A-OK as in I would come again at someone's suggestion but it would not be my pick of eateries. Sunday night 7pmish- 25 minute wait. Sadly, there was a group of 15 people with their panties in a bunch as they had been waiting an hour and a half with a newborn and they had reservations. They have a flat screen TV playing near the front door which describes their home-style comfort food and craft cocktails. We requested a menu so we would be able to order upon being seated. Looking over the menu I noticed they clearly do not understand what a craft cocktail is. This is not a craft cocktail establishment, just run of the mill margaritas, mojitos, and the usual suspects. The margaritas are served in a big glass with too much ice, not enough booze but a decent price point of around 4.50. Unfortunately, they tried to seat us in a very busy aisle and that would not work with a high chair. A short while longer we were seated. Hubs went for the bacon cheeseburger with a side of chipotle mayo. He added mushrooms and their broccoli casserole. I had the sirloin chicken finger combo with a loaded baked potato and mac and cheese as my daughter loves her some mac. My husband enjoyed his burger and the casserole. I was not impressed with the casserole, which was basically cheesy rice with broccoli. His mushroom appeared to be canned button mushrooms cooked in butter, but they did taste nice. My steak was cooked perfectly and had no fat. It was also seasoned very nicely with pepper and required no steak sauce. The chicken was very tender but a little under seasoned and served with a honey mustard. The mac and cheese was nothing impressive. The baked potato was hardly loaded with a pat of margarine, sour cream and about 8 shreds of cheddar. It irritated me that a salad was not offered as a side. You had to pay 2.50 extra and I saw it being served on the same plate as people's entree's. I really need my salad in a nice cool bowl, not on my hot plate. First off, this place was awesome. Close to a Yelp 5 star in my opinion except for one thing I will get to in a bit. When the waitress came she was super pleasant, maybe a little overly happy which made it look forced, but she had an incredible butt so no problem there. Got our drinks out quick and the bloody Mary's soon after. My sweetened ice tea could have been a little more sweetened but wasn't bad. I was told the bloody Mary's were pretty good. And the water tastes like water. The appetizer that we ordered (nachos) were amazing. We got the half and half beef/chicken. Amazing. I'm no food critic, but they were amazing. Cleaned off the plate. They were amazing. A couple of us got salads to start and my Ceaser salad was great. They definitely weren't stingy with the dressing so big brownie points there. We had also ordered some croissants, which were huge, sweet, light, flaky and just plain delicious. Recommend those. As for the main course I ordered the buffalo chicken wrapper with a loaded baked potato. The wrap was very tasty and the buffalo chicken sauce was just the right amount of spicy for me. It came with butter and cheese. Loaded baked potato = butter and cheese???? No. Loaded means butter, cheese, sour cream, bacon, and chives if not anything else. Asked the waitress, who has a stellar butt, about the "Loaded" baked potato conspiracy and she said that was it but she would bring me another side if I would like. I declined but was satisfied that she offered a replacement side. The waitress was very attentive which I was happy about for a couple reasons 8) I don't typical take food home in ToGo boxes but the wrap was to good to leave. So that is saying something for me. Apparently this is a I need to check with the manager type of thing. They ended up selling us a side of onion rings. I did not have the lack of seasoning that the previous review spoke of. The food came out excellent. I don't like thick chunky onion pieces over actual onion round pieces, but other than that the medium well was cooked PERFECTLY! The sautéed mushrooms were baby intact mushrooms versus sliced which worked much better as they held the flavor. The bun was nice and soft and warm too. The Monte Cristo was served with jam and topped with powder sugar. A great accompaniment to the sandwich and the flavor. The onion rings served with two side dips were excellent. The salsa it's served with is a tad too spicy for me but that's personal preference. I had the Smokehouse burger with the mac n' cheese for a side. The burgers are large so the side was extra. Prices are reasonable but the food is a hit or miss. I ordered the lunch portion salmon for dinner which was nice since I wasn't too hungry. Upon arrival my fish was completely raw. It was sent back and upon receiving my new dish it was over cooked. My boyfriend had the chicken strips which were actually quite tasty. The second time I went for lunch with a friend (hoping to give them another chance) and opted for the sampler appetizer which was chicken strips, potato skins and cheese balls. Cheddar's was what she wanted, Cheddar's was what she got. 19th birthday celebration! Very comfortable environment with a nice vibe as you walk in. Our party of five (4 adults and one 7 year old) was seated immediately for dinner. The place was busy but not slammed. A good 10 minutes later our server appears and introduces himself and asks about beverages. Half of the beverages come to us about 5 minutes later. We ordered the fresh queso & chips and the onion ring tower. Queso was not bad and the onion rings looked pretty stacked just so with a light tempura type batter. But the taste was average. They were served with two itty bitty containers of dipping sauces. Their menu is pretty extensive and we ordered: kids meal mac n cheese; combo of top sirloin & ribs; a 12 oz ribeye; chicken tender platter; and the birthday girl got the country fried chicken chicken AND the veggie platter (which is actually just 4 sides). BD girl seemed to like everything, her friend liked the tenders with the Buffalo sauce "tossed" on them. Little kid didn't like her mac'n cheese too much or the garlic toast served with it (really, Cheddar's? how about a bit of vegetable on the side instead of garlic toast for a kid), my man's steak was extremely fatty, overcooked and hardly seasoned. My small top sirloin was cooked to perfection, it's just too bad that it was kind of flavorless. The ribs tasted good enough but absolutely no meat clung to the bone when you picked up the bone. I mean, I get fall off the bone tender but this dish might as well have been pulled pork or something. If I'm eating ribs, let me think I'm eating ribs. My sweet potato was honestly my favorite thing on my plate. I guess Cheddar's is more comfort food than anything as evidenced by the menu of sides. Everything is just so freakin' heavy sounding. I know that appeals to many, just not me. Here's the real kicker. We told the server about the birthday and asked if they do anything to which he replied yes. Not expecting anything extravagant - maybe a slice of cheesecake or a scoop of ice cream with a candle in it. Well, he came to our table at the end of the meal and laid down a single chocolate chip cookie in a little bag, probably similar to the way Baggin's does their complimentary cookie and said Happy Birthday! We felt so bad about the unceremonious birthday treat that we drove across the parking lot to get fro-yo to make it up to her. It was pretty sad. It was my first time here but not for my friends. We worked up an appetite playing at Dave and Busters being all competitive and needed something to fill our tummy's. Friends said Cheddar's is a good spot so off we went. We were all pretty hungry so we ordered 2 appetizers for the 4 of us to share. The cheese fries was about right for the size/price but their bbq chicken nachos were very big compared to what we are used to especially for the price. I guess it was a new item on their menu so they were making sure everything was on point. The nachos filled an entire cookie sheet. We dug in and by the time our food came out, we were pretty much full. I ordered the ribs and the steak and another friend ordered the steak and shrimp. We took a couple of bites of our food but the waiter already knew what was up and showed up 5 minutes later with boxes. Our entrees were good and I wish I could've ate more while it was hot but we were so full at that point. The waiter had a sense of humor asking if we wanted dessert. Hard pass. Overall, it was a great lunch. Everything was tasty and portion size was large for the price. Do not underestimate their appetizers unless you like taking a lot of left overs home lol. I just have to share that Cheddars on Broadway @ El Con Mall, has done an outstanding job with carry out meals all through the 2020-2021 Covid19 pandemic. Whether you order on-line or call in an order, the employees are very friendly, professional, and go out of their way to make sure orders to go are hot, packaged right, and delivered by an employee with a mask and gloves on to our cars. They have several designated parking spots for take out orders. Orders are delivered right to your car. Grilled Salmon and Top Sirloin are a couple of my favorite dinners. My wife and I stopped by for lunch. As we walked in, we were approached by a greeter wearing a mask and the first thing said was, "Do you have a mask" as she stepped back and away from us as if we were infected with everything known to man. Not "hi", "welcome", "hows your day?" or any other greeting as her position would /should offer. I had masks, would have gladly put them on, but the snug attitude and the looking down at my wife and I put me off. We walked out never to return. I then called the Manager, Mark to let him know of my experience. His response was kind of surprising as he said, "well it is a Pima County Mandate and everyone has to where a mask to enter". I tried to explain that the mask was not the issue, but rather the attitude and demeanor of his employee. He continued as if I had not said a thing about it. I tried again to address the attitude and improper greeting and again, he went back to the mask mandate. Seeing that I was getting nowhere, I simply told him that I would not be back and as I was ending the call, he said "im sorry you feel that way". Mark never tried or took responsibility for the treatment of his employee. Thinking of his attitude, I can see why, same type of mentality. On a positive note- because of this treatment, LONGHORN's is pretty good so far!! The hostess, server and staff so far are friendly and COURTEOUS, and have even asked about our day! Love love love the slightly sweet buttery croissant rolls!! My husband had the steak & ribs; side of loaded backed potato & Mac & cheese w/side Cesar salad. Strawberry lemonade is so good. I had the New Orleans Pasta with side of broccoli cheese casserole & strawberry iced tea. Oh & 6 sweet buttery croissants to go!! Service is great. Our food was out quickly. Will recommend! Portion control here is very tight compared to similar restaurants. The alcohol drinks are made a little strong. Quality of the food/ingredients is the main positive of my experience. The Mac and Cheese is definitely one of the best around. Overall a pleasant dining experience. read more

I found this place on Yelp because we needed somewhere to stop for food in this neighborhood. What got my attention was the Yelp offer that says "Chips and queso are on us"... I joined their e-club on our way there and the when I mentioned to our server he was less than welcoming. He said he was not sure that offer was still valid, then he did some research and came back to me saying he needed the coupon, which I would get through my email in about 4 days... and that would have been fine... 20 years ago! not now... then he brought a sign-up card saying that he could help me sign up right there, but it would still take about 4 days for me to get the coupon... So, yeah, if not for that, maybe this would have been a great experience, but I do not appreciate businesses making offers that are not honored, or known by their staff, or offers that are meant as bait... we do not live in Tucson so I have no use for an ELECTRONIC coupon that I will receive when I am in a different city. Other than that some of the food was very good. Hubby got the ribs (with sauce on the side) and he did love them. I got a Monte Cristo that seemed to be not cooked through, some bread layers in the middle seemed undercooked so I ate the outside bread, the meats and the cheese. I had a side of macaroni and it was very good but tiny... It was in a small bowl but do not think it was even a full cup.
