Being fairly new to Arlington, this was the first Chinese restaurant I tried and I loved it! There's so much variety to choose from. I love the wide variety of fruits. My best friend and I tried cactus fruit for the first time there- very good. The staff is nice but the place gets packed depending what day and time you go. I always have a good experience there. Horrible food. Do not come here. The fish was over cooked, the chicken was mushy, corn tasted like dirty water, other chicken was dry, they had pieces of corn in their egg drop soup and they didn't even have won ton soup. What kind of Chinese restaurant doesn't have won ton soup? Steak was very chewy and I couldn't make it through 1 egg roll. Great renovation of "The Trough", aka The Golden Corral. Good selection with little or no labeling of the food. Sushi policy very confusing, fortunately I am allergic to fish. Hot and Sour soup missing something. Salad bar could use more dressings, croutons, bacon bits, etc. Ice cream bar needed spoons to eat with. Unless you absolutely do not care what your Chinese food taste like or you've only got $11 in your pocket one eat as much as you can for that steer clear of this place. This place is an absolute disgrace to the Chinese food industry. Ribeye strip steaks that were more like thick shoelaces that you couldn't chew or break apart, fried chicken wings that were so tough on the outside it took a knife to cut through the skin. Egg drop soup that had so much corn in it it tasted like corn chowder. The beef in the beef and broccoli was unidentifiable. It was soft good she and slimy and didn't even have a flavor that resembled beef the broccoli you can tell was frozen and not fresh. Fried zucchini so deep fried then it was like eating Grape-Nuts you could have broken a tooth on it. When you ask for management and tell them all of the problems that you have with your food you're told that your bill is now 60 bucks for 4 people in other words no discounts for their lack of cooking skills. Drive past this place and keep on going go straight up Cooper to the corner of Cooper and sublett there's a place there called Splendid China it may not be a buffet but at least the food will be recognizable hot and served at your table you won't be sending things back. And I'm assuming so many people were leaving so much crappy food on their plates at China Harbor that they are now charging a surcharge for the amount of food that you leave on your plate and saying that's because you're wasting their food which you would have eaten had it been edible. read more

I was first introduced to China Harbor when a couple of my friends invited me to come and mingle with them in a back-to-school party. Of course, I was excited about this party not only to see my friends again, but because I was highly interested in the Asian buffet. I was really anxious to get there because some Asian buffets I have been to did not have the high quality stuff I was looking for. But this place was and still is awesome!! It is really something you would not expect!! The entrance is just beautiful, coming up from a Golden Corrale! You really would not expect buffets to look this nice!! And the T.V.s!!!!! OMG. The food is okay and also the service in the table, but the cashier is horrible. They charged me more money than what was stated in the receipt and I only realised that after coming home, so I called them and they said they will put it as a credit for my next visit. When I visited next she just refused to give me the money, I also showed her the proof of the transaction but she was extremely rude. First of all it was their mistake to charge me more and then they not could send me the money but still i was fine but now she was like no now I cannot do anything, I was actually disgusted by her behaviour. Okay, the food was kind of cold, and one meat tasted horrible, but what really topped this visit off was the horrible service. The lady serving us had an attitude, and was truly rude the entire time. My friends and I weren't quiet, but at the same time, we weren't shouting. Being pregnant the time visiting, I went up to the sushi bar for some seconds, and the sushi chef took away the plates of sushi while I was trying to grab some, and this was 45 minuets before the place closed. Nice Chinese buffet. Actually Americanized Chinese buffet :) I ate a lot whenever I went there. Whenever me and my friends go there, we eat at least 5 plates. They have sushi, Mongolian grill, Fruits, fresh seafood, and my favorite, Crawfish. I usually had 4 plates of food and another 3 plates of crawfish. The should not call this a buffet restaurant if they are afraid to bring food out to people. The food there are nothing special about it except it does have lot variety of sushi selection. My first time here on a Friday night 2 hours before its closing time and it will be my last time there also. The restroom was filthy with sticky water all over floor. The buffet bars fill lot of food except oysters. It had 2 empty oyster shells on the tray on the first 30 minutes when I was there. So I asked host if they will bring more out from the kitchen. 5 minutes later, they did. They dumped out a whole lot of steamed shrimps but only 4 plates full of oysters. I would say only about a little over 20 oysters at the time and it was gone in less a minutes. So I told waitress again that they need to bring more out, and she said the kitchen brings out every 5 to 10 minutes and " you have to standing there and wait if you want to get it before it's gone again." I told her it's ridiculous. I paid for a buffet, a "all you can eat" place, it's supposed to have food there when I want. I can understand the wait and I don't mind to wait for the food to bring out, but I don't want to standing there and watching at the empty tray and fight for the food when it comes. The second time it brought out even less than 20 oysters. A person before me took most of it and left 5 for me out of pity... It is a very unpleasant dining experience at a so call buffet restaurant. I've eaten at China Harbor multiple times and it was really good. The service was especially great when I went last Wednesday. The lady was very attentive to me and my family and made sure our drinks were always filled. My second visit I was mostly ignored by the male server. The fried rice is excellent, I always get multiple servings of it when I go, and the other food selections are nice. The fried fish is great as well too, the only issue I have is with the desserts! There's only fruit, a few cookies/cakes and ice cream that you have to scoop yourself. For sanitary reasons I couldn't enjoy any ice cream, there has to be a better way to serve it. Take a note from other buffet restaurants and get an ice cream machine! read more

Love this place! It is clean, friendly and the food is delicious. I love the selection and the hibachi grill is always my favorite to create exactly what I want. If you like a variety of Chinese food, this place is as good as it gets! There's also lots of options for kids which is nice if they are a little pickier. Definitely worth a visit! read more

It was my second visit to China Harbor. I ate the boiled shrimp kept at the salad bar. Within 30 minutes after eating I got extremely ill. I know that it was food poisoning. After being sick that afternoon and losing 2 days of work without pay I finally was able to speak to the manager (after he ignored my several calls) today and he said since I was the only one that complained than he would do nothing for me. I stated that most people are too intimidated or embarassed to call. He insisted his food was perfect all of the time and said he would give me a free meal next time. As if I will ever go back there again. I am grown and have had a light case of food poisoning in the past and had gone to the dr. at the time. I knew the symptoms immediately. The manager is using that as another reason to disregard my concerns. This has been extremely disappointing to know how unconcerned he was. read more
