Well, we used to like coming here until about a few months ago. The sushi is tasteless the plates never get picked up from the tables anymore and the drinks never get refilled unless you flag one of the workers down and sometimes they act like you're bothering them. Maybe the WORST thing is the soap in the bathroom it's basically water with green food coloring in it. I say the worst because I wonder about the workers going in the bathroom and attempting to wash their hands with this soap...what's the number to the health inspector? Crawfish is good. read more

Went here for my birthday and they charged me full adult price for my 9 year old because she happens to be tall. She ate 2 doughnuts and 2 pieces of sushi for 11.99. Not a food good place for kids and only restraunt I have ever seen that uses a chart for charging kids based on height. See pic. read more

It must be a serious challenge to offer a Asian buffet to gorging, well-padded patrons. Razor thin profit margin? Many restaurants have become mediocre feeding troughs that offer variations of the same recipes. Same steam table, same food, same suspicious owner counting the shrimp you take, same price, but a different dingy location. For this, we aren't big fans of the buffet. China Harbor is different. China Harbor is a nicely converted Golden Corral. The parking lot is large and is usually full. Modest landscaping and fresh paint offer a simple welcome. The lobby is redecorated with a large water-filled wishing well, coin toss thing. The seating area is large and subdivided into sections that reduce noise and stampeding patrons. The steam table area is large and located near the front lobby. A circular island in the center offers a Mongolian grill. And a 20 foot cold island is near the grill. The place is always busy, but really never feels busy or frenzied. The hot steam tables offer many favorites and familiar dishes: egg drop and hot & sour soups, steamed and fried rice, chow mein, lo mein, chop suey, tempura vegetables, frog legs, egg rolls, crab cakes, stuffed crabs, Rangoon, dumplings, chicken, beef, and seafood entrees, and American foods. The volume of people moving through this restaurant keeps the food flowing and fresh. The Mongolian grill is always busy. In the island center is a 8 foot round flattop grill manned with a couple busy chefs with spatulas. You fill your bowl from an impressive cornucopia of fresh ingredients: meats and seafood, sprouts, vegetables, noodles, egg, and spices, hand your bowl to the chef and he'll do the Benihana chop-chop on the grill with your selections. Two other windows on the island offer sushi; at least twenty different beautiful, colorful selections are offered with wasabi and ginger. The cold bar offers many various leafy and prepared salads. Cold oysters, mussels, and peel and eat shrimp. There are many chilled fruits and self serve ice cream choices. Many cookies and small cakes and the choices. $9.95 and it's a bargain. You don't have to gorge here. Eat well and you'll leave feeling good, free of regrets... and will probably want to return some other day. We did. read more

So you can actually pick out a nice selection of food, and then quit eating! Maybe it's that old bargain hunter in me, but I kept on eating even after I was full. Bad me. I'm sure you guys will show more RESTRAINT. Maybe that last word was profanity for an American. The next important thing about buffets is PRICE. Lunch buffet here is $6.95 for adults, Dinner Buffet and All Day Weekend buffet is $9.95 for adults. Lots of good fish choices including Sushi Bar and Mongolian BBQ. (The also say no MSG and 100% vegetable oil-this from their brochure) They had some good crabcakes, boiled shrimp (needed a little spice, in my opinion) oysters etc. All the usual chinese food you'd want and some nice sweet tasting bread rolls. There was a lot of nice fruit in the salad area as well. Did not get a chance to try the Mongolian BBQ station, and I'm not a Sushi fan, but judging by the number of people are that area, theirs must be all right. One of the best buffets in the area. You have to pace yourself and plan trips to the buffet lines or your stomach may regret it later! Dinner features oysters and several other good dishes that aren't available at lunch time. Huge selection of fruit was a big plus for me, in addition tip the dessert bar and ice cream selection. The food good the service is not bad but this place in not being clean like a restaurant should be cleaned. The restrooms are a little dirty as well. The soap is very low quality. If you are seating next to a wall look at the wall it might be dirty as well. The dispensers are not being wiped down at all very sticky. I just hope the kitchen is in better shape. Maybe it's just me because a girl that was next to us asked me why am I taking a picture of the wall and I explain to her why. The sad thing about it is that she did not care for things being dirty. So for my conclusion if you are in a lower income level I guess its ok to eat in a dirty restaurant. read more

I have been coming to this place for years, because the variety of food can't be found anyplace else. This place has a great buffet, and usually there are enough people to keep the items fresh. I particularly like that they have a few selections of fresh fish to choose from. Of course, there is the Mongolian style grill, and great desserts to choose also. The servers are always courteous. My complaint with this place after all these years is the price. I went there tonight, after a long hiatus. I noticed a sign near the front door that I hadn't noticed before: Drinks $1.99. I asked the greeter whether the sign was new; she didn't appear to understand what I was asking. All in all, the dinner for just me (with a drink) came to $15.10. With the obligatory 20% tip, it came to $18.30. Even for reasonably good quality food, this is just way too much for a Chinese buffet. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant quite often for a while before I go to the other one that has lunch/dinner special. I have always been quite satisfied with the food, but the service should be improved. I returned to this place again after transferred to UTA and came for a lunch buffet. On my return I will say that the food quality and variety remains the same, nothing new. What I enjoyed the most is the Mongolian grill that has a lot of ingredients and have udon noodles As well and I enjoyed it as I did before. The service is better but still rooms to grow. The hostess did not really welcome me and seems like I'm a bother. It is not a big deal, but I will say that the buffet is rather pricy. I came around noon and costed me $9 (I didn't order drinks). If you don't mind driving up 20 miles to Hurst TX, I recommend Asian king buffet, you can get a coupon that has $5.99 for lunch special and $7.99 for dinner in the mall (NE mall) near the restaurant. It has better atmosphere but they have less ingredients and no udon noodles for the Mongolian grill, but isn't a big deal to me. read more

Good varieties of food, but bad quality. That's pretty much sums it up. Don't get the chicken from the salad bar, it does not taste fresh..just to warn you. The seafood here is descent, reason why I like to come here sometime is the creamy coconut Shrimp and the choices of meat. The service is okay...very nice waiters and the price is fair, But there are better buffets in DFW to satisfy your hunger. read more

The food at this place was somewhat decent, but the amount of money that we payed for is ridiculous. They charged children based on their height! My two sons passed the height limit and were charged as an adult when they still eat the amount of a child. When we were done eating, they over charged us on the ticket. To make matters worse, our waitress complained to us on why we didn't give her a tip. I don't recommend anyone to visit this place. read more

I went to China Harbor with one of my friends after class. It was my first time there and I was amazed at the selection they offered. China Harbor is your typical buffet. They have various foods - chicken nuggets to sushi, as well as a dessert bar. I really enjoyed the green beans. I don't know how they were cooked but they were amazing! Very flavorful. For about $10, it wasn't a bad deal. I can't say that I will be back anytime soon, but it's a good spot to go to if you want choices. read more

Cheap eat, fresh food come out frequently once it get low. They also has a Mongolian grilled if u choose to do a stir fried with a variety of veggies, noodles, sauces, fresh eggs and meats. (Pls have couple bucks handy for those outstanding hard workers that cook for you) once it's done they'll bring it to your table. I should have trusted the low ratings but I was hungry and they were open late. I thought - most of the low ratings were for being charged for food left on the plate or kids that were too tall to eat cheaply. I was wrong. Let me back up. I'm not "that" picky. If a place has tasty food, is clean enough to avoid spreading diseases, and the wait staff is at least competent, I will at least go back if it's handy and I am hungry. I ate 5 bites from my plate, tipped (because the waitress was nice and it wasn't her fault), paid and left. I figured no amount of money was worth barfing later. (and I am still somewhat concerned about what those 5 bites will do to me) Details: The sweet and sour chicken was off flavored chicken in heavy breading, fried in oil that had been used a long time. The chicken wings were equally bad. They had the coloration and texture of something fried in oil even older than that used for the sweet and sour. The meat was slightly brown on the inside and it had the flavor reminiscent of the smell of uncooked chicken water that is soaked into the absorbent pad of a raw chicken package.. after a few hours in the sun. The fried rice was equally bad. Don't be thinking - "I don't mind screaming kids sprinting in random directions." Don't be thinking "This guy is obviously a high maintenence picky germophobe". Don't be thinking "it can't be that bad". Don't think "the parking lot is busy....this many people can't be wrong". The reality is - I wish I were bilingual because I am not finding adequate words in one language. Heinous comes to mind but it's not enough. Oh - the bathroom: I went to wash my hands (probably a pointless exercise) and water the flowers. There was water (:?) on about 30% of the floor and one of the two toilets had been desecrated by someone that might have had cholera and left it there without flushing (yesterday?). I have done dozens of reviews and have given out 5's like candy on halloween (deservedly I feel). Only one other was similarly scathing and it wasn't as bad as this place. Was craving for some Chinese food and decided to stop in for takeout because it was close to where I live. I've been here 3x now and the food is relatively good compared to other Chinese buffet. Take out is 5.99/lb for take out and is satisfying. They have multiple selection of sushi and a full Hibachi station so that's more than most places right there. I have yet dine in to try all the food but I liked everything I've tried so far. Will try to dine in next time and update his review for everyone. But then again, I'm not sure about all the calories I will put in my body. read more

By far one of the best Chinese buffets I have ever been to! I'm a huge sushi fan and their buffet has the best selection, from imitation crab sushi, fried, or raw fish. They have a huge variety and are sure to have something you will absolutely love. Their lo mein spicy and non spicy or delicious! Along with their sweet and sour chicken, coconut shrimp, and crab Rangoon's! Definitely a must try whenever you're in the area. This will be the last trip to China Harbor. They overcharge. You pay based on your height. So our 11yr old is an adult since he is average height for his age. The hostess got mad when we didn't want a booth or 4 person table because we had me, wife, 2 kids and 1 grandchild. The waitress didn't seem to want to service any tables. She was more concerned about rolling more silverware napkins and getting her food than checking tables. She brought the wrong drink refill. Then she proceeded to sit down and eat without even checking the tables she had. My glass was empty by then and she looked right at me when she sat down. The food has gone downhill greatly too. Shrimp and crab was dry and overcooked. Clambake was burnt. Some of the fruit was bruised and old. Chicken was dry and lacked flavor. The ragoons had cheese cooked out of them. When we told the person at the register that this would be our last visit he 1st said ok, then said oh why. When I told him, he said nothing. So I said that is 1 more reason not to come back. Nice new Chinese Buffet. They have the best tasting Chinese buffet that I have been to here in Arlington. I was beginning to wonder why I could not find a good Chinese buffet here in Texas. I had to find a good spot large enough to hold 50 people for lunch on Saturday... They had a private room in the back large enough to hold us all, but if you want that room, you will have to reserve it in advance with a deposit. They also add a large group service charge of about 10% (I don't quite remember) Nice, clean, and the food tastes good as well. They gave our group great service. read more

When I came here for the first time, the experience was amazing. I couldn't help but stuffing myself so much that my stomach hurt later on the day. The restaurant makes you think they have every Asian food possible, ranging from sushi, the signature fried rice, noodle, and exotic seafood. They have Western items too, including crawfish (surprise!), fried products such as fried chicken, French fries, and baked cakes. The soups are good too. And you can't go wrong with the large variety of dessert, consisting of fruits, cake, and ice cream. You have to try them all! My favorites are salmon with white sauce (it's just so *goood*), the fried fish (I think it's tuna fish), and their fried rice with the fantastic sweetened shrimps and meat. The restaurant is professionally architected and arranged. The servers do what you tell them, but sometimes they appear not to know what they are doing. Ha ha. But the crawfish were not so good to me, && the egg drop soup disappointed me also. The egg drop soup is usually my favorite part about Chinese buffets, but it was too bland here!! We used to come here many times, but after today we will not be coming back. First off they charge you if you leave some food on the plate and don't eat it. Why am I supposed to finish something I was trying new to me and that couldn't because I didn't like it? Isn't this a buffet? What is the purpose of a buffet? And I'm not like others that grab plates and make a mess that is unbearable to clean. Bad business, don't offer buffet if you want to charge customers for leaving food they didn't like. The floors are really slippery and advised one of the servers about the issue and they did nothing. Hazard and bad business. I don't know why they are using unfiltered tap water for all their beverages!!? I asked for a glass of water and as soon as I took a sip I could taste the chlorine! I asked for a fountain drink thinking they probably will use a filter for that but unfortunately the same result?! We have been coming here for yrs with large group but not anymore. Waitress said my kid was too big for small kid price. Hey miss waitress, go and talk to the host or your boss. They were the one that wrote in the price when they measured my kid like going thru high security area at the airport. Perhap, CH should outfit each waitress with tape measurement to double check each kid before they sit down. We walked out. BTW, there were 8 adults and my %20 tip standard should cover it. I don't know what's up with the low ratings for this place. I've came here plenty of times and never had any complaints about this place. The amount of choices of good food for that price is amazing.
